spaceBas rolled his eyes at Kiki claiming she wasn't the boss. He wanted to point out that this had to be the first time in history that she'd not claimed that title. Balder's explanation of how their single date had turned double had turned triple had turned quadruple was met with a faint snicker. He wasn't wrong (well, except in the case of Emma and Finn, since most of them didn't know Emma and none but Caty knew Finn), but it was still sort of hilarious. "Only you two could try to think up a date and end up bringing six people along with you," he told them, rolling his eyes. Kiki gave what he was sure was supposed to be an offended huff, but it was pretty obviously fake. Her eyes were glinting; she was probably pleased as punch with herself for getting all of them out here today. She wasn't just an extrovert, she was a bloody energy vampire. He felt he was qualified to make that call. He knew vampires.
spaceThe general consensus seemed to be that they swim, with an air of 'what else would we do?', which had Bas shaking his head. "We came here to have fun," he pointed out. "That could mean a lot of things. Swimming. We could build a sandcastle. We could play a game. I'm sure my mum shoved a beachball in the bag she made me tow along."
spaceBalder asking what skin cancer and sunblock were made him snort; sometimes he forgot that some of his friends had gaps in their knowledge of the muggle world. Pop culture wise, they all kept each other pretty informed, so other stuff slipped through the cracks. "Skin cancer's an illness," he said. "You can get it from overexposure to the sun. Supposed to check yourself for weird moles and shite to make sure you don't have it." He shrugged. No one he knew had ever died from it, and he didn't think he had any family on the muggle side that had. Opa had died when he was still pretty small, but that had been a heart attack. He was pretty sure. "Sunblock keeps you from burning," he added. "And it's supposed to help you not get cancer, somehow." Honestly, Bas had no clue how any of it worked. It wasn't a potion, so he was lost. He was sure he'd understand if he actually studied it, since it couldn't be that far off from potions, but as it was, it was muggle science nonsense that he knew nothing about.
spaceCaty's arrival with the mythical boyfriend in tow got his attention, the blonde immediately looked him over curiously. He tried not to look intimidating or anything, because the guy was probably already nervous. He was surrounded by a group of strangers, who for the most part were very close to his girlfriend, so he more than likely felt like he had something to measure up against. Standards to meet. But, that didn't mean Bas didn't want to check the guy out. General assessment was that he was cute, though not really Sebastian's type, and obviously just as nervous as expected. The blonde smiled, crossing the distance between himself and Caty, and hugged her. "Hallo, Caty. Froh, dass du es schaffen könntest." He then offered his hand to Finn. "Heya. I'm Sebastian." He refrained from introducing anyone else, figuring that one, they could do it themselves, and two, it'd be easier to remember if each person said their own name than if he rattled them off while pointing at people.
spaceHis own introduction out of the way, he glanced over at Aleah. Of course, he averted his eyes a second later, because his girlfriend was in the process of taking off her tank top and shorts, which was probably not something he should be watching her do. For politeness or practicality. Still, he could tell she was struggling a bit, and bit his lip, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye once his own shirt was off. She was struggling with the button of her jeans. He felt his cheeks heat up, but inched closer, still not really looking at her, and asked if she needed any help. Of course, she said no (and was probably never going to let him live down offering), and he had a feeling his insistence that he wasn't being inappropriate was going to go ignored in favor of joking accusations. Dammit. Like he didn't already feel like enough of a pervert.

spaceIf Kiki was somehow offended by Sebastian's assessment of her and Balder's skill at planning dates, it didn't show. Actually, she was beaming, because hell yeah they brought six people along! The more the merrier, in her opinion. Plus, it provided ample opportunities for Balder to get distracted talking to someone, thereby leaving her open to ogle him without him noticing. That sounded like brilliant planning, if you asked her.
spaceThe dark-skinned girl grinned when he mentioned possibly having a beach ball. "Oh! We can play keep away! Or draw a line in the sand and play volleyball, but with a comically sized inflatable ball instead of a proper one!" Personally, she was super into doing anything they could do at the beach. She didn't think there was a single beach activity she didn't want to do. "But, first, looks like we're gonna swim," she said, not at all bothered by that notion. She'd already made her opinion known, after all. Immediately, she started stripping down, giggling as she listened to Bas try to explain to her boyfriend what sunblock was and what purpose it served. "It blocks UV rays," she added. "That's what causes the cancer cells to grow. Cancer's basically when the cells in your body get screwed up, and they duplicate and duplicate and duplicate until you've got a tumor or something. UV rays do something to your skin cells and it makes them go crazy and become cancerous." She paused. "Sometimes. Not all the time, obviously, or we'd all have cancer all the time. My grandmum had it. Well, it started as skin cancer but it spread or something, got all over her. She died when I was like, six." Which was how Kiki had ended up with her father when her mother had died, in fact, since if she hadn't died then, Kiki would've gone to her.
spaceThey were all distracted by Caty and Finn, and Kiki almost snorted at the way Bas immediately sized the boy up. Apparently, he didn't find the guy to be a threat to Caty's well-being (as if any boy could be), because he greeted his friend with a hug before smiling and offering his hand to the boyfriend. "Ignore him!" she called over Sebastian's shoulder. "He's just trying to play big brother even though Caty's older 'cause his actual little sister's girlfriend scares the hell out of him." She cackled at the look the blonde gave her, clearly pleased. "I'm Kiki! I'm tall, blonde, and gorgeous' girlfriend." She shot Balder a wink, then went back to prepping for the swim.
spaceAs she started to apply her own sunblock, she noticed that one of their party seemed to be struggling. Of course, she knew Aleah had some issues with mobility, and had even taken that into account when planning this whole thing (the girl had insisted she could do a beach trip, so Kiki had agreed). But, she hadn't really thought through the specifics, it seemed. She watched the girl struggle to undo the button of her shorts, and frowned, glancing at Sebastian, who was very blatantly not looking and not helping. Okay, Kiki understood being polite and all, and maybe it was a little awkward to help his girlfriend undress in public, but she needed help!
spaceAfter a bit, Kiki couldn't handle it anymore, and she stepped towards Aleah. By that point, the blonde was lowering herself onto the ground. "Aleah, girl, if you need help-"
space"She's got it," Sebastian interrupted, glaring at Kiki as he stepped between the two girls.
spaceKiki crossed her arms, arching a brow. "Sebastian-"
space"Kiki, seriously," he said, speaking through gritted teeth. Then, quieter, "Don't make a scene of it." Before Kiki could argue (and she really wanted to argue), he continued, "I already asked. Kronos is helping her, she does this every single day. She's fine. Let her do it."
spaceKiki wanted to argue, but she had to admit that she didn't know Aleah as well as Bas, and didn't really know the specifics of her situation or her preferences. It irked her, because seriously the girl was struggling, but she figured that if she didn't back off, Aleah's boyfriend would pick her up and throw her into the ocean. He could literally do that right now, she thought, faintly amused. So, instead, she just shrugged. "Okay, whatever," she said, and then went back to applying her sunblock. Sebastian did the same, though Kiki could see him looking over his shoulder at Aleah. And blushing scarlet.

Walks and fresh air always helped Rosabella clear her head. Exercise helped too, and was usually her go to if she was alone. But she wasn’t. The brunette had dragged her friend to the beach well aware that it was far too cold to enjoy the sand and ocean. That was exactly why she chose a beach, actually. She knew it would be fairly vacant. Perfect for a private talk. Bella sat on a log with her hood up, staring at the waves that crashed to the shore as the cold wind brushed against her cheeks. She felt a little nervous for two reasons. The first was the fact that she felt very vulnerable. Talking about her feelings – with anyone – was scary. The only person in the world who Bella felt 100 percent comfortable talking to was Dani, and even her best friend didn’t know what she was about to say to Andrea. The second reason she felt this way was because she didn’t know what was going to happen. She could very well lose Andrea as a friend after today, even if they promised each other they’d still be friends and nothing would change. Bella’s seen this before and, spoiler alert, the friendship always ended if nothing more came from it.
Briefly, Rosabella wondered if Andrea even knew anything was up. The girls had maintained a conversation the entire time they’ve been together so far, and it wasn’t unusual for them to explore random parks and trails and forests in the United Kingdom. As their conversation died and the women sat in silence, Bella figured now would be an appropriate time. “I sort of have something I need to get off my chest,” she muttered without averting her gaze from the sea. Suddenly, her heart began to beat much harder and faster than before. Oh, God. The thought of backing out struck her, which would be very doable by lying and telling Andrea that something was bothering her.

Half of Rosabella’s gut was telling her to back out. Tell Andrea you hate how scared of blood she is! it screamed. It was moreso funny than bothering how the two women were very active, which brought along the occasional cuts and bruises, and yet, the blonde had issues with looking at and dealing with blood. The other half of the seer’s gut was telling her to be honest and it pointed out that if she walked on eggshells about it tonight, she would be right back where she started. Taking a deep breath, she prepared herself for the worst. “No matter what I’m about to tell you, I want you to know that I don’t want anything between us to change,” she said, averting her gaze from the ocean to look up at her friend.
After giving Andy a moment to confirm that their friendship won’t be any different (although it would, but Bella was hoping for a positive change), she went on. “I think I – oh, gosh, you’re gonna think I’m insane!” she exclaimed, looking back at the body of water. “I’m trying to tell you that I think I’m in love with you.” Hazel eyes continued to stare out into the sea – there was no way Bella could look at Andrea right now. Not until she responded, and even then, she may not be able to look at her. What if she didn’t feel the same way? In fact, she probably didn’t. As far as Bella knew, she was completely straight and didn’t have any gay bone in her body. It wasn’t until Andy came along that Rosabella even knew she was bisexual, and until this moment, nobody else knew either.

Rémi had been dreaming of this day for months. Luckily, the whole event went off without a hitch, and even grand-mère hadn't complained too much. She did, however, ask repeatedly why the service hadn't been in French. In fact, it had been a point of contention between all the families, the fact that both wanted a different language, either which would alienate one half of the family (and one of the grooms. Instead, they settled on English, the one language a majority of all the people knew. Luckily, most people were happy that the ceremony wasn't just a signing at the Ministère des Affaires Magiques.
After their vows had been said and kisses exchanged, the newlyweds walked to the little tent that had been set up just past the sand. Good, Rémi would have sand in his shoes for years to come. Luckily, there was a little wood floor for them to dance on, so no one would break an ankle. At least there were several Healers on site. The shorter Frenchman leaned up onto his tiptoes and gently pressed his lips against those of his new husband. "I am so lucky to 'ave you, mon amor." He looked up, eyes a darkened violet color. This day, he was sure, he would treasure the rest of his life.

Elisabet was really excited to go on vacation. What could be better than a weekend at the beach with Ferdie? She'd packed bathing suits and a new arm that was.... hopefully waterproof. If nothing else, she packed her normal one too, just in case. On one of the days, the duo decided a beach picnic sounded the absolute best, so she pulled on her new suit and adjusted the arm. She followed her boyfriend down toward the water and helped him set up their little blanket and towels on the beach. After that was done, she walked closer to the waves that were lapping over the sand. Just at Ferdie was trying to coax her into the water, a larger wave soaked him to the bone. Poor guy. He hurried up and tried to grab her, leaving the girl squealing. She had the advantage of being dry on the sand. "Alright! Alright I'm coming! Aah!" She giggled, pressing her toes into water. Taking Ferdie's hand in hers, she walked a little deeper into the water. The young woman shivered as the water curled around her belly, but she kept on. "You're right, it is nice. Very refreshing."

Elisabet splashed in the waves with Ferdie, watching as he collected a conch shell. It was so cool! She watched him tenderly clean off the shell while she soaked up the sun. Luckily the waves were just curling around her ankles at the moment, with an odd few splashing up to her knees. After a few more moments, the duo trudged through the hot sand back up to their blanketed area. It was lovely, except for the sand between her toes.
They set up their lunch, and Elisabet grabbed the ham and cheese sandwich Ferdie had gotten for her. "Chicken salad is gross, just like you!" She giggled, lovingly nudging the boy. He then commented on work and she sighed softly. "You have been logging a lot of extra hours lately. I haven't gotten to see you practically at all! But I do love that you're dedicated, not just to your job, but to all the people you help everyday." She grinned, curling up into Ferdie's side. It was so nice to just spend time with him, especially away from home and work. Plus it was pretty cool that her arm hadn't fizzled out yet.
