| | ||About the Pride|| | |
Anvesana Caritra central focus is history. They are the keepers of past events. They seek out other prides to learn about their history, while keeping their own pride a secret in fear of being attacked. The pride is non-aggressive, but they are not overly welcoming of newcomers. Originally the pride was lion dominate, with other felines took more servant like roles. After the destruction of the original pride and the creation of the new, current one, the pride members became more accepting of non-lions.

Once Anvesana Caritra was open to all seeking information. The pride members were proud of the history they gathered on outside prides and gladly shared their information with those willing to provide information of their own pride with them. However outsiders started becoming more hostile. Some prides would demand to know the weaknesses of their enemies, others wanted any information of their pride removed from the archives. Anvesana Caritra became a much more private pride after an attack on their leader. Outsiders were no longer welcomed in the pride. Some outsiders felt like Anvesana were keeping secrets so they could go on the offensive and they launched an attack on the pride. The pride members of Anvesana Caritra were not ready for the attack on the pride. The majority of the pride died, leaving only a handful of pride members left including the pride's leader. They took what they could and ran to the desert in hopes that none of their assailants would follow them.
The small group reformed the pride, being extra cautious of who they brought into the pride. Slowly their pride grew, but they kept their stories to themselves, not wanting their home destroyed again. Because of their few numbers, they allowed trustworthy leopard, cheetahs and hybrids to join their ranks.
Allowed Species: All Felines
Allowed Familiars: All Familiars allowed as long as they are bonded with a regular pride member. Snakes are the most common familiar in the pride.

Nayaka|| | [Leader] The pride leader is not a rank that is passed down through a blood line. Instead when the pride leader dies a temporary leader is chosen. The temporary leader will rule until a new one is found and has grown to adulthood. (1/1)
Ksana|| | [Second in Command] This rank is chosen by the leader and changes whenever there is a new leader. This is the lion/ess that provides advise to the leader and assist in leadership duties. If the leader dies (under any circumstance) the second in command becomes the temporary leader until the new leader is ready to take the position. They will keep this title though if they become the temporary leader. (1/1)
Rahasya|| | [Mystery] This rank is one of the most secretive in the pride. The pride members know about them, but they do not know everything the rank entails. The rank will never all be in the same place at the same time, of fear of being ambushed and killed. They will usually leave secret notes to each other if needed. Their main duty is to guard and protect the leader as well as the most valuable history the pride has found. If the leader dies, they are the ones who must find the cub that will become the future leader. After they have found the future leader (and they all agree) the cub is then put in their care (alternating who is taking care of the future leader) They will set up a lesson plan for the future leader. The final job the Rahasya do is get rid of any undesirables in the pride. If there is a pride member who is causing trouble they will discreetly execute the pride member without allowing other pride members to witness. The best candidates for this job are pride members who will put the pride needs above their own. They must be able to make the tough decisions when the Nayaka and Ksana cannot. Finally, they must be in decent fighting condition. Usually they are the most skilled fighters in the pride. (3/5)
Head Seeker|| | The head seekers are the ones who recruit and train seekers. When a seeker returns they report to the head seeker who will then match them with a scribe. Seekers will always report to the head seeker before they leave the pride and when returning. (0/1)
Seeker|| | Seekers spend the majority of their time in the rogue lands and other prides, collecting information (about prides/gods/important events/ect). An ideal seekers has a great memory and a drive to learn. (2/∞)
Head Recruiter|| | The head recruiter are the ones who pick and train recruiters. They are also in charge of deciding if an outsider is worthy of being welcomed into the pride for a trial period. Recruiters will always report to the head recruiter before they leave the pride and when returning. (0/1)
Recruiter|| | Recruiters go out to the rogue lands with the purpose of bringing in new blood. They seek out potential candidates. If they find a good candidate, they will inform the head seeker.(0/∞)
Head Scribe|| | Organizes the scribes and pairs them with seekers who need their information documented. (1/1)
Scribes|| | Scribes will take the information that the seekers have brought to the pride and carve it into stone tablets. When they are not writing down information, they are organizing the tablets into categories. (1/∞)
Head Hunter|| | Typically the most skilled hunters. The head hunter teaches adols how to hunt, organize and lead hunting parties. (0/1)
Hunter|| | All adols (minus the future leader + seers) will be hunters. Some will choose to remain hunters, while others will seek out a different rank. (this is the default rank for adols and adults)(2/∞)
Blessing|| | Blessings are seers. All seers, no mater what type of feline or age they are, will hold this rank. This rank is highly protected and are seen as one of the most valuable aspect the pride has. Unlike other pride members they are usually expected to stay within the pride. They spend most of their time meditating, trying to trigger a vision. (3/∞)
(side note about this rank) If you character is a seer and does not want this rank, they can pretend not to have vision, though if the Rahasya find out, the seer will be forced to become a blessing. Non-seers can pretend to be seers in order to gain the blessing ranks, however if they are caught they will be punished)
Guards|| | Guard the Nayaka, Ksana and the blessings. (2/∞)
Stoneworker|| | Stoneworkers can create sculptors of famous historical figures. They can also carve into stone tablets depicting important events. (1/∞)
Teachers|| | Teachers watch the cubs of the pride and teach them about the pride. They work with scribes to get what information is most valuable to the young of the pride. They also take time to educate outsiders once they have been in the pride for a while. (0/∞)

| | ||Belief System|| | |
Reincarnation|| | The pride believes in reincarnation. Their leader is always reborn into the pride. They believe that the more you assist the pride, the better life you will have in the next reincarnation. Leopards, cheetahs and hybrids are lions who have failed the pride in a previous life and are making it up. They believe that a lion/ess work hard enough they can be reborn as a god/dess.
Rebirth of the leader|| | When the Nayaka dies, the Rahasya will go to mothers in the pride who have had cubs born after the leader dies. They will perform test to see if any of the cubs are the reborn leader. If a cub has passed the test, he or she is taken from their family and taken to live with the Rahasya. There they will be taught everything that they will need to know to become leader as well as taught as much history as possible. To officially become the leader, the future leader must reach adulthood and pass a test created by the Rahasya.
God/dess|| | The pride acknowledges gods and holds them in high regards. They are honored when a gods visits the pride in any form they may take. See Celebrations for more info.
Rogues|| |If a rogue gets too close to their pridal lands, they will always be chased off. If a seeker finds a rogue and feels like they would be a good addition to the pride, the seeker will have the head seeker go to the rogue lands to meet to potential recruit. If the head seeker approves, then they are allowed a trial run in the pride. After roughly a month in the pride the pride leader or one of the Rahasya will make the final decision. Usually they are allowed to stay. However if the leader or the Rahasya do not trust the newcomer, the newcomer will be executed. (this will only ever happen for plot important reasons or a npc will be executed)
Non-lion felines|| | For the most part the pride will support non-lion felines in the pride. There are certain ranks they cannot hold, but they will be treated fairly by the majority of pride members. However, there are a some members of the pride who feel like non-lions should be treated more like slaves then actual pride members. Usually they keep this opinion to themselves, but sometimes their actions show. The Rahasya try to keep everyone in the pride civil.
Mating|| |If two (or more) pride members decide to mate for life, they will exchange gifts, usually a necklace or other type of jewelry and there will be a celebration within the pride.
Flings (inside pride)|| | When flings occur between two pride members, the two parents will usually raise the cubs together. The parents are not expected to become mates and can part ways when their cubs are old enough.
Flings (outside the pride)|| | If a female pride member has a fling, she is not allowed to tell the male about the cubs unless she believes that he is worthy of joining the pride. He will then meet with the head seeker who will decide if he is allowed to stay. If a male pride member has a fling outside the pride, he is not allowed to steal the cubs. However, if the female offers to let him take a cub, he is allowed to do so. Flings outside the pride are dangerous to the secrecy of the pride. See Rogues for more info on how it might be handled.
Naming of Cubs|| | with a mixture of old and new souls, names are often keepsakes for older souls that have been re-incarnated into the pride. While not a strict rule, cubs are often named similarly to their previous incarnation, while newer souls are granted a name uniquely their own.
Other Prides|| | Anvesana Caritra will never ally with another pride. They do not trust other prides and never will. Most of their knowledge of prides is gone, though some remain. I will make a list of prides that they know about (and what they know about). If you are a pride owner and would like AC to know certain things about your pride, feel free to pm and we can talk. I will not add any pride to this list without talking to the pride's owners.
Leaving the pride|| | Pride members leaving the pride is very uncommon. There are different ways the pride will react to a pride member leaving. If they inform the Rahasya that they would like to leave the pride, the Rahasya will interrogate them. In the best scenario, the pride member will be allowed to leave with the promise that they will never return to Anvesana Caritra or speak a word about the pride to anyone. The worst case scenario is that the Rahasya do not trust them and will remove their tongue so they cannot speak of Anvesana Caritra. Once they are healed, they are taken out of the pride, never allowed to return. (the second one will only happen for plot reason or if requested)
If a pride member tries to run away, they will be hunted down by the Rahasya (sometimes requesting assistance from outside help). Once captured, the ex-pride member will be questioned (to see if they spoke about the pride to outsiders) They will be either brought back to the pride where they will be forced to remain, have their tongue cut out or if they are a big enough threat to the pride they will be killed.
Familiars|| | Familiars are welcome in the pride as long as they are bonded with a pride member and that they can survive in the desert environment. The most common familiars in the pride are snakes. They do not hold a special rank in the pride.
| | ||Celebrations|| | |
Birth of a litter|| | When a litter is born, they are highly celebrated - cubs born in the desert is no easy feat, after all! The parent(s) are bestowed with gifts and a feast is held in their honor - this is where a new story begins, after all, or where an old story may continue. Any cubs thought to be reincarnated are tested and told stories of their past lives so that they may continue on.
Death|| | when an adult in the pride dies, they are celebrated immensely! Stories of their accomplishments are told in hopes that the gods will hear and grant that member into the Haven and allow them to cross into godhood.
When a young member died before they reach adulthood, the affair is much more subdued. The pride mourns for a week before telling the dreams and ambitions of the young member in question in hopes that the gods will grant them another chance to accomplish their goals and pass into godhood.
Honor of the Gods|| | This festival takes place whenever a god or goddess graces the pride with their presence. A feast is held, catering to the gods tastes and trinkets are bestowed upon them. They are entertained with dancing and stories until they decide to leave the lands once again. The pride hopes that their hospitality will grant them favor with the god.

Personality: Once apart of the chokwe pride, he was a story gatherer. He's visited many different pridestyles over the years and have gathered their history and big events. When he came back to one of his friends pride. He was informed that the Chokwe pride was invaded by the vampire pride causing a huge war that killed many of his people included in that number was his mother and father. He went to the barren pride and picked up anything that identified his pride and has since, carried a heavy weight upon his shoulders for not being there. Overall, he is a sweetheart, gentle and loving. He was not cut from the same cloth as his warrior siblings and has always felt like the odd one out. He is the smallest of their family but that doesn't stop him from achieving.

Personality: T met Utsuki upon his travels and T endowed Utsuki was so much stories from different prides that they created a very unique bond. T has a photographic memory that helps Utsuki collect as much stories as he can. An old mistweaver taught him to write. So he began recording things for utsuki and since then, had traveled together. He can be seen carrying scrolls at utsuki's side. He is quiet in nature and understands most prejudice against hyenas so he keeps to himself and Utsuki.

Personality: Malkia grew up with the God of Hate lingering around them. She used to be needy and nasty as a cub. Especially when she had strong visions. As she grew up, became more fearful of her visions and isolated herself from the population, she wouldn't have to see another vision. The pride she joined before disbanded. Utsuki had met her a few times, and when he learned that her pride disbanded, he went looking for her. She had hidden herself away in a deep cave, and lost the will to speak. Utsuki has been trying to rehabilitate her and brought her along in his travels. She's shy now, and doesn't like being touched.
