Inspired by the Lost Girl series found on netflix and Protheans ideas found in Mass effect (The Game!) !
Of course some artistic liberties!

A pride of Fae.
They believe they are Cousins to mortals and gods; and consider themselves the 'in betweens'.

Their MAGIC,
Is in fact the power of 'Chi'. They meditate and believe in the spiritual realm being abundantly apparent in their lands. That is why they believe they are the guardians of this land.

Location
___They live within a rainforest mostly covered in fog/mist. On both sides, they are kept isolated, on their northwestern front, the mountain range, and the FAR southeastern front they are protected by the ocean that that funnels streams throughout their pride.

The Light Fae and the Dark Fae
___ The difference between Light Fae and Dark Fae is not the same as the difference between Good and Evil, but more so of between order and chaos. Essentially what sets the Dark Fae apart from the Light Fae is their willingness to use their unique gifts purely for personal gain regardless of the consequences to those around them, especially rogues/mortals.

Hierarchy
___ The Ash
Leader of the light clan, they believe in righteousness, restraint and humbled beginnings. They believe in high moral stands. The Ash, is ruler of the light and whatever they say is written in law.They can elect their own cabinet although it is very common to keep the prior cabinet to ensure a smooth transition.
___The Morrigan
Leader of the dark clan, they believe in strength and free spirited and at their worst pure evil. The Morrigan, is ruler of the dark are and whatever they saw is law. The Morrigan commonly change their cabinet and often cast aside or even banish prior cabinet members whom fall under favor during the rule.
___Both rulers act as the bosses/owners of the pride.

Una Mens
___ The four act as acting laws, for all fae. They have the power to appoint an emergency 'Acting' Ash (temporary), dethrown an existing one, and kill if necessary to keep the laws followed. They only appear in extreme emergencies and hold no emotions towards light or dark. They are blind in this perspective and abide by the old laws that use survival as the basis of their actions. Anyone appointed as an Una Mens resigns any family ties and loses sense of identity for the greater survival of the pride. They represent the balance and also make sure that the pride is never found out.

Royal Families
___ The head of each family act as the fae council. They are a mixture of Light and Dark families that give the Ash and Morrigan power, and have a vote when a new ash or morrigan is appointed. The come from the old ways and therefore, rich and entitled from birth. They are amongst the families that are favored to become the acting ash.
___Royal families were founded by the 5 elements that make up the world. Embodiment of their elements, they will not hesitate to steal to keep cubs to keep the family line strong if their element is branded on any given cub. They are also the general managers of the pride.

Nobel Families
___ Are families just below Royals. The come from the new ways and are rich by means of making names for themselves through connections, favors and other from either royal or ash/morrigan influences. They are also among the families that can become ash, although they are less likely to be the favored choice.
___Nobel families are represented of the 7 chakras. Each family represents the body of the body and without them, there would be no pride. Each family focuses on a certain chakra, and fae members come to the different families asking for guidance on blocked or troubled chakra. Pelt colors matter, but not as much as the abilities of the cubs. If a cub exhibits the gift of healing, the Heart Chakra family will steal said cub no matter its color. They are the Managers of the pride.
Crown chakra
___ Prefer Lavender Colored, but they focus on spirituality.
Third-eye chakra
___Prefer Blue Colored, but they focus on Awareness.
Throat chakra
___Prefer Cyan/Lighth blue Colored, but they focus on Communication.
Heart chakra
___Prefer Green Colored, but they focus on Love and Healing,.
Solar plexus chakra
___Prefer Golden/Yellow Colored, but they focus on Wisdom and Power.
Sacral chakra
___Prefer Oranges Colored, but they focus on Sexuality and Creativity.
Root chakra
___Prefer Reds Colored, but they focus on Basic Trust.

The Glaive
___Highest ranking official below the Una Mens and upholds the laws that the Ash and Morrigan. Jobs include, Writes Fae laws, Enforces Fae laws, Maintains the peace between Light Fae and Dark Fae. They are the military of the fae.

Citizens-
___Can take any rank or job within the citizen ranks. A citizen is viewed among royals/nobles as lesser; the working class. Within the citizens, they have 3 class system, High Class, Middle Class, and Lower Class.
___High Class citizens, take jobs and apprenticeships from the royals/nobles. They are called Favored (insert rank here).
___Middle Class citizens, are the workers of the High Class and are the vast majority. They are called Patroned (insert rank here ).
___Lower Class citizens, do the dirty work, clean up jobs, and are often pushed around by everyone. They hold no respectable place.

Bonded-
___Are those that are fae bound. They are 'owned' by fae although they do not carry fae blood nor are considered fae. This title is viewed as a pet for a fae. If you take in someone that does not possess fae blood, nor bonded to you, and bring them in to the boundaries, that can be killed on site or eaten. No matter the species. By claiming them as bonded, means that they are your ward and pet; which are protected. Any actions they take are the responsibility of the fae that they are bound to. Bonded have less respect within the ranks according to the fae they are bound to. Although they are considered lower than low class, and looked down upon, according to the fae they are bound to, some others may not be outwardly mean to them by they are seen as outsiders.

Fae Blood
___Fae blooded means you have special traits and are cousins to mortals and gods. Ie, they consider themselves the inbetweens. What kind of fae your character is, are based off of their expert traits which can be passed down through generations. If they are experts at singing, prefer to live near water and may possess the colors based off oceans/lakes/streams, they are sirens. Those that may possess darker pelts, likely purples/reds, they feel they are strengthened and healed by the company of others, and are promiscuous flinging/breeding patterns; they are classified as succubus. <- This is being reworked

Powers
___The pride believe they are cousins to mortals and are something between mortals and gods. Alas reality, they do not possess special powers, but they believe that they do. Ie, some may have expert skills in hunting, and believe they have the power of hunt. If they are experts in running, they have the power of speed. They are a very old pride and come from a time where the gods were very close to mortals and had once been the home of many gods. Their influences had shaped the pride in their beliefs that were 'special' and different than mortals. Power are mostly passed down through generations/genetics because of similar traits that are passed on from families but two of the same fae could produce offspring with different powers- ie a different fae if they exhibit traits that do not follow the parents powers/traits. It would then be considered that someone in their family lines possess the power that the offspring has *genetics passed down from a great grand parent for example*.

Rogues
___ Those that are mortals that need not know about the fae community. Those that do are either killed or taken in as thrall/pets. Rogue are often preyed upon by the Fae community. If a rogue is seen acting a certain way, and a fae is around. It is likely they would be captured and dragged back to the fae pride are deemed to have been founded fae blood.

Cubnapping
___Is a huge thing for the fae. Fae children are usually not cubnapped, because they are highly protected but the fae themselves are not above cubnapping. In fact, it is praised, as the fae live among mortals acting as them to find other fae(seekers). Usually they cubnap to keep them pure enough to shuffle in to the fae community with less hassle and easy assimilation.
___Older Tradition: It is also, NOT uncommon for fae to exchange their baby with a mortal/rogue's. Often times the one stolen is set to be arranged marriage with another cub in the fae's original litter. So the exchanging of babies, is more like an honor- although the mortal/rogue parents should feel happy about, but they often are left distraught. It is very rare for a fae to come back and see if the fae child is alive and well. By natural selection, the faes' that exchange their children have an understanding that once a fae child is given to a rogue/mortal family, then the fae child becomes their property and the mortal/rogue cub becomes their property.

Species
___Cheetahs are usually seen taking high ranks. Which are seen as the oldest and most direct/pure fae blood.
___Although all other species are welcomed, they are usually handpicked/selected if they show traits of fae blood. They are allowed in.
Most fae were either born in from the oldest bloodlines of the pride, or cubnapped as infants of fae whom believe their blood called to them.

Marriage
___The ongoing understanding is
"Fae also do not allow divorce for the first thousand years of a marriage in order to 'give it a chance'."
Ie, in terms of SoA, the first 10 years of marriage, divorce is not allowed. How you portray years for your soa is up to you, since the stage growths are 1 every 4-6 months?

Breeding
___Breeding is very fluid between the fae. They celebrate breedings/children all the time with or without marriage. Although Nobles/Royals are more strict on their breeding rules. Those within the pride are fair game. If you breed with an outsider/rogue your character and children may suffer IC rules. Children can incur abuses such as bullying or looked upon as a mix breed or not legitimate fae. Rogue born may still hold status in different classes but they are harshly scrutinized.

Hybrids
There are two hybrids within the pride.
___1 - Hybrid of two different fae. Which are said to be stronger and more rarer if they live. Said to have the powers of both parents.
___2 - Real hybrids of two different lined species. Are accepted within the pride although some do not understand the concept of having hybrids because within the pride, its all about continuing your bloodlines. Likewise, they are not treated badly but they can be made fun of sometimes.

Color Variants

Royal families, and Nobel families, cub exchange, steal cubs etc of their 'element' or chakra colorations at anytime and considered apart of their family.
Royal Family:
__: Earth- Have an assortment of green and browns as their base colorations with markings like trees[veins or age markings]. Or even scene-tic markings.
__: Wind- Have whispy markings, that have mostly ranging from, grays-whites, light blues. Mostly whites. Cloud markings are favored or markings resembling the sky.
__: Water- Have wave type markings, sometimes markings of fish or aquatic animals. They usually have a blue coloration.
__: Fire- Characters must have 'fire' symbols, actual fire coloration.
__: Aether- Galaxy, Stars or constellation markings. Their base coloration ranges from black- to purple.

Lesser Festivals:
____Carnival, February 28th - The biggest joining event, usually in form of masquerade.
____ Old Tradition Carnival: Some still practice the old traditions, and bring their families to mortal/rogue festivals. This is one of the two nights where most find arrange marriages with Mortal born fae and when most rogue/mortal cubs are stolen from their families.
____Pennons, October 4th - When performer fae and solider fae try to win favor among the Nobel and Royal families.
____Samhain, October 31st - A day of remembrance to all lost or fallen fae. All fae gather lightning bugs and wrap them in flowers, setting them off in to the great ocean. Some ancestor spirits are said to play and attend the banquets held for them on this day- it is not uncommon to see fae talking to themselves as they believe they are talking with ancestors or the fallen's spirits.
____ Old Tradition of Samhain: Some still practice the old traditions, and bring their families to mortal/rogue festivals. This is one of the two nights where most find arrange marriages with Mortal born fae and when most rogue/mortal cubs are stolen from their families.

Ceremonies:
Stag Hunt
____ Is the ceremony to establish the new Ash. A 'stag' is set free. Usually a fae- and the eligible contestants are to hunt down the fae in question. Once the fae is hunted- the stag has a feast one final feast before their death becomes a spectacle.
Harvest/Red Moon Dance
____ When there is said to be a red moon, in congruence to near october, a dance competition is set up and offers are given to the gods providing them with food. The winner of the dance competition a feast is held in their honor as they wear a ceremonial flower crown- often times, other fae will see them as demi gods for the night and urge the winner to give blessings.

Sanctuary!
____ Once a fae calls out sanctuary, no harm can come to them for 72hrs within a neutral territory or opposing territory if the Nobel in charge of said territory grants it in return.

Oath!
____ The fae do not want to be discovered, but they can be your next door neighbor, they can be a friend of a family that has converted without a single soul knowing. If found out, the common practice is to kill the one who knows. No questions asked. Some sympathizers will take those who found out as pets/bond to them. Those who let slip their secret or show random rogues where they are located, they are punished to death by torture. No questions asked. They are a very ancient pride, and with old ruins as apart of their home to tell the tales, they will not put their kind in danger. Not even the Dark Fae dare to say a word.

Marriage Ceremony!
____ It is by tradition that the bride and groom (or other variations of), share their blood with each other. Some nick the cheeks and rub them against each other, where others may bite each other til blood is available to consumption. However you do it, blood to the fae is sacred, and to be marriage, is to share what is most precious to them.
This tradition is so "Blood is thicker than water." To be married, is to have both bloodlines run through each other's veins.

Light and Dark fae Marriage!
____ That is a no-go ghost rider. It is a CRIME to mix Light and Dark Fae. Marriages between them can get them both killed or imprisoned.

Alignments- Dark and Light
____ When a fae is born, they usually take the alignment of their parents and family lines. It is not, uncommon to have a child astray from their parents alignment. If a child strays from the alignment of their parents, they are usually considered dead to the family to start their new life in the other alignment. Although rare, some parents have been reported being seen to seek out neutral territories to see their children.

Rite of Passage
____ The rite of passage is different for every fae, it usually happens within the adolescent period of their life. If they do not complete the rite of passage, and fail. They can fall in to what is called 'Mania' or commonly known as Feral.
____ Signs of becoming Feral, forgetting family, violent blood rages, and unable to speak the tongue of the fae. Ie, they can't communicate unless its rambling screams and growls. Feral Fae are feared by many as they seem unpredictable and irrationally violent in nature. It is common practice to put them down. (Killed) for the safety of the pride.
