I wanna dance with you right now, oh And you look as beautiful as ever And I swear that every day you'll get better You make me feel this way somehow

โTimothy had always sort of maintained that he wouldn't, or perhaps shouldn't would be the optimal term, be father material. And he didn't mean in terms of parenting-in his wholly sibling opinion if Chance and Tanya could do it so could he-but genetic wise. He realized that there were small percentages possible that something hidden in his DNA could affect whatever children he chose to have and he logically knew that his muteness had absolutely nothing to do with his genetics but the outcome of a traumatic birth subsequent abuse but, it was still too much for him to consider bringing a child into it. And then Mira got pregnant and was so obviously happy and glowing and his family was happy and he, for the most part, was happy but there was also this nugget of fear hiding in the back of his mind only coming forth at night. He sometimes tried to overrule the fear with his eldest brother's words, ones he's kept close from prior and after his wedding especially since his passing, but occasionally the fear got the best of him.
Then suddenly the nine month trial period was up and the premium subscription came due and now there was a tiny adorable bundle of loose skin and curly hair with an angry pout that reminded him of her mother's and, pun unintended, Timothy was left speechless. He'd heard and read about how this indescribable amount of love came pouring into you when you held your child for the first time and for once, he was inclined to agree with the general populace. And he felt like this every time he looked at her, held her, gently teased and ticked her chubby hands and cheeks, he was a man proven wrong.
A year passed in this way and the fear was practically nonexistent, only coming forth when strange but apparently normal things happened with Sierra. Like orange poop. He still wasn't completely over that one if he's honest. Today was one of his rare off days and he was happy to spend it with his small family without his mum or one of his sisters attempting to steal his daughter away. Mira and Sierra were settled in the living room surrounded by all her toys while he decided on her lunch settling on soft peanut butter snacks and fruit.
He was concentrating on slicing when his name was suddenly called and he went over to see his wife looking concerned over their child which instantly worried him. He watched as Sierra interacted with her toys not in any immediate danger and wondered what it was that had alarmed her and was about to ask when he noticed something off. The musical toy that she used to babble along to she wasn't anymore, or reacting at all really to the noise it caused. Wanting to test it, he grabbed another musical toy, a patty-cake bear that when squeezed would sing which Sierra had caught onto early and even began clapping when prompted. He got her attention and squeezed the bear watching for any cues and was worried when she didn't seem to react to the now very familiar music. Trying not to completely panic, he turned towards Mia putting down the toy to sign.
"I think we might have to take her to a healer." Memories of spending his younger years in and out of mungos flashed through his mind and he tried not to feel sick. โ
I'm so in love with you and I hope you know Darling, your love is more than worth its weight in gold We've come so far my dear Look how we've grown And I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old
