Time had passed. Time to think. Time to weigh the options.
It was now time to make a decision.
Moricorm and Nyota'angavu had called the pride together once more, and it was no secret what the gathering was for. There was a decision to be made, and there was no more putting it off. Enough time had passed to make it in good conscience. The pride leaders themselves would abstain from the vote, as it was the pride itself who needed to make the decision.
[[OOC Notes: ALRIGHTY FOLKS. HERE WE GO. Again, the overall outcome of this IS decided, but this is only the first of this style of RP, and future ones will allow for members of the pride to influence the direction the pride goes! This gives you all a taste of that without any pressure, though! Or worries!
In your post, make sure to include what each member is voting!
Black pebble is allowing leopards as demons, White pebble is refusing them as demons, Grey pebble is allowing them as demons with stricter rules.
And what's a pridal ORP without a prize...wait. Prizes? OH. We've got TWO prizes for this ORP! These pretty boys are twins, and will be raised alongside the cub from the last ORP by Lel. They're orphans from the Dvergr, and will have, until now, been looked after by older 'Hobbits' as best they can. Each post a non-leader player makes will count as one ticket! If you don't have a member, you can post with a familiar or non-lined species! Just uh...be careful. The pride might try to eat you if you're prey. [And only pride members can vote!]
The first boy is newbie only! [Two [2] or fewer members in the pride] He will be considered a demon!
The second boy is open to everyone, and will be a sador! He can, however, become a pale demon in adulthood if the player so wishes!

Moricorm stood in front of the pride once more, taking a deep breath. "The moon has waxed and waned more than once since we last gathered. I have heard murmurs of conversation, of debate about this topic. And now we have come together to decide where we go from here." She motioned to the piles of pebbles, each a different color, and the hollowed out piece of wood that lay beyond them. "Everyone will choose the pebble that represents their decision, and drop it into the piece of wood. Once it is finished, they will be separated and counted by a pair of meiv'seere who are on opposite sides of the issue." She nodded to each pile in turn as she spoke further.
"The black pebbles are to allow leopards as demons. The white pebbles are to refuse them as demons. And the grey pebbles are to allow them...but with stricter rules. Should the grey be the majority, these restrictions shall be discussed. Every pride member is allowed a single vote. The only pride members who cannot vote are the nat. Myself and the other leaders are refraining from voting, as this is a decision to be made by you, the pride, not us. Let us begin, and make sure to be orderly."

Aed was seated near the front, his eyes watching Moricorm as she spoke. He followed her actions towards the pebbles. He had been curious about all of this, the addition of the Dvergr had been interesting and he had even met on of the new Juton, a lion by the name of Alun.
Once Moricorm was finished speaking, Aed looked around to see what everyone else was doing, Danag speaking in his head as he slowly stood up. Give them a chance....strict restrictions of course. He had to agree with his demon on this one. He had heard the stories about how his great grandmother had perished at the hands of a leopard, before she was reborn as a Goddess. There had to be a strength in them if one had managed to kill her.
Picking up a grey pebble, Aed dropped int onto the piece of wood before moving back to sit down.
(Question, because Alun hasn't been accepted here yet, I was wondering if he would vote or not?)

Ever the traditionalist, Angra Mainyu watched on from a decent distance that allowed him the opportunity to get a feel for the general emotions within the prides members at the proposition of making a choice. For this particular occasion it seemed that the prides members would be given the opportunity to make a choice and from what the crimson lion had gathered about the recent changes there were more welcome to the new members than those who were opposed. He himself relied on the fact that the pride was picky and didn't typically 'roll over' of course he didn't always voice that opinion, Angra also wasn't that great with change.
Blue eyes watched, with consideration, as Noh - a lioness he felt connected to briefly made a choice that he couldn't have predicted, the color made his li curl and for a moment his face was contorted into a look of disgust. He wasn't the kind to consider what others thought of him and this time would be of no exception as he moved forward, preparing to cast his vote - his eyes remained on the pebbles for a second as though he were considering what to do with them, but in the end he gathered a white pebble...
Grunting at the leadership before him as he stole away his pebble in favor of a refusing vote - a vote that had yet to be cast at all. Perhaps others were fearful of making such a shout out, but Angra wasn't one of those individuals - nor would he grab a pebble or a choice he couldn't get behind. After taking his particular pebble he returned back to his chosen spot, seating himself and dropping the pebble before him to land, flip a little before settling on the dirt.

Ringwe'naur had thought long and hard. He'd weighed every angle, every pro and con, and had come to his conclusion. He watched as votes were made, and one was withheld, and then he approached to make his vote. He took a grey pebble and placed it where it needed to be; he acknowledged the strength leopards held...but he would not see it an easy task for them to try and prove themselves worthy vessels for demons.
Dorielle pressed past him on his way back, and made her vote very obvious with her dramatics. A white pebble, a refusal to even think of letting leopards sully their bloodlines. Her great-aunt Anameleth, by contrast, dropped a black pebble. She remembered the Ardhi'mrvingo'patano still, and the strength in the paws and minds of leopards.
Kaiu strode forward with Etsirdae, Kaiu depositing a black pebble while Etsir deposited a grey pebble. And behind them came Gwaedh, quietly depositing her grey pebble before sticking close to Etsir.
Jasiri also deposited a grey pebble. While she had no trouble with leopards herself, she felt they would need to prove themselves in many ways.

Kyouko trailed behind many of the others, humming an odd tune as she picked up and placed a black pebble. She knew her decision may seem strange to others, but she was much like Anameleth; she still remembered the Ardhi, and the Peponi-pya before that. Runya rolled her eyes as she passed by Kyouko with her vote, dropping the white pebble where it needed to go. She remembered far too well the events that had killed her mother and lead to her godhood. And Runya was still bitter over it. She didn't want to see that species integrating into the pride as anything more than sador or nat.
Domefae brought his grey pebble to the wood, placing it carefully before moving to join Yakuti with a solemn look. So much had changed in his life. They had seen so much change together, and he couldn't help where this possible change might take them. Nak chittered on top of his head, preening his mane comfortingly.
Cionaodh stayed back, uncertain and still mulling over his choice while Estela bounced forward, choosing and placing a black pebble for her vote. She was, perhaps, a bit more progressive than the usual demon, but it came from her parents being who they were...
BastetAmun Alun is perfectly fine to vote! As are any other former-Dvergr who are joining the pride but haven't been posted yet!

Koin hovered towards the back of the group, watching curiously as others before him voted. He normally didn't step in for anything like this, preferring just to watch over the new Sador cubs born into the pride. He was old, face greying around his muzzle and his bones creaked painfully.
But their was a cub that would be considered a Sabor, he felt it was his duty to water over the young cub, no matter what species the new cubs might be. He stepped forward, not shy in the place he had come to in his youth. He was older than most of the demons in the pride now, he saw most of them grow to the adults they were now.
He placed his black pebble within the pile.
Skaut, the dark vulture, stood upon his shoulder. She was utterly silent with the pebble clasped within her beak. She was far younger than Koin. She had only come to him after the original pride had disband.
She joined him as his journey joined with that of his children and grandchildren in the Pack of Nomads, and the bird had vowed to follow her bonded anywhere, even to this place where she was considered a slave and nothing more, though she was not mistreated at any point thus far.
She huffed and tossed the grey pebble from her beak. Koin turned to look at her before he moved back away from the piles of stones to await the results.

Though new to the pride, the pair of pale lions that stepped forward were often seen together. This occasion was no exception. The lioness followed behind her companion, the dip of her head revealing significant discomfort with the situation. She hadn't come to this pride to make major decisions! Especially such a big one! As a matter of fact, she might have sat out this whole procedure entirely, had it not been for...
The striped lion stepped up behind her, golden gaze as unrelenting as it had been the whole way here. Like he could read her thoughts, damn him. She rolled her eyes, sighing, and looking glumly over the pebbles assembled beside the log. What did she know about leopards? What did care if they became demons or not? It just felt like this wasn't her fight - so it would be better for her to not make a decision at all.
She watched the male's paw reach toward the pebbles. He had made a good point, though. She didn't have anything against leopards finding their demons, he'd pointed out - and the more strong members the pride boasted, the more around to protect her. Wasn't that what she was here for? She knew she should probably feel bad about it, but she hadn't really been able to contest that.
Her paw met his in the pile, scooping out two grey pebbles between them. In one motion, the pair dumped their offerings into the log.
Muladhara was a simpler sort. She didn't need massive justification for her actions, though she was very, very sure of them. It was her wont as meiv'seere to be assured, after all. No sooner than the pair of sador left the circle than the stocky lioness moved forward, scooping up a white pebble with a flick of one carmine paw. Into the log it went, with its bearer being very careful to withhold her scoff at how obvious a decision that should have been - for all assembled.

[[OOC Note: It will be assumed that the majority vote was grey pebbles: to allow leopards with restrictions. These restrictions will be announced ICly at a later date, but OOCly will be in the pride/joining info before I go to bed tonight!]]
Moricorm waited and watched, ticking off the pride members, demon and sador alike, that voted. And when the final member to vote came forward, her own daughter Lachiell with a grey pebble, she stood. And once Lachiell had taken her place back within the crowd, the small lioness nudged her fellow leaders and began the count. At the end, she was both surprised, and not. How her people had changed with the passage of time. It made her proud and in awe.
"We are a pride of survivors. Of those who can take what the tides of time and storms of life throw at us and wade through to the other side. We change when we must, and stay true to those things which lie at our core, that make us truly what we are. Unity. Loyalty. Strength. And the hellfire within us." And she was proud of her people. Of everything about them. "The majority of you chose the grey pebble, chose to allow leopards within our ranks...with restrictions, of course. We shall figure out what those restrictions shall be, what it will take for a leopard to prove they truly belong among us. Until that time, you are welcome to bring your suggestions to us. Today, we have taken another step forward into the storm we call life. And it is with unity, loyalty, strength, and our hellfire that we shall walk through it as ourselves." With that said, she turned and left the gathering area, taking a deep breathe once she knew it would not be seen.
The pride had changed once more; where would it take them this time?
