Guard duty was some times a very lonely job and not for the kind of personality that needed company. Luckily Pueo had the kind of personality that enjoyed good company. Her own.
Guard duty had been great for her to sort out her thoughts and wander around the pride lands while most lions were asleep. It was great. It was hers. It was something that Pueo treasured.
Moments like the rising sun where the lioness could watch the sky change in to all kinds of different shades of purples and pinks and golds until it was high up in the sky. Don't get her wrong, Pueo loved the moon light at night when most of the pride was up but she really treasured something about the day lite sky and the sounds of bird calls echoing over the lands. It was paradise and it was almost totally hers. She loved being put on guard shifts where she got to patrol during the day.
Pueo would never openly admit that though.
The lioness was patrolling around the lower class dens today. Something about this particular area made her feel uneased. It was because of the events that had unfolded even well before she was born and the unhappiness of the slaves had turned to violence. Mind you, she knew better than to lump all slaves in to this category, however, the lioness still felt a little uneasy. She was sure that under the new rule there would be compromise that she hoped would satisfy.
