"Ack!" Faruk yelped out, rolling out of the thorn bush. What a mistake he had made! Now he had thorns all over him, And it hurt so much, he nearly had tears in his eyes. But no, boys don't cry. Especially him. He was suppose to be the mature one. Not act like a baby.
Stifling a whimper, he sat a good ways from the bush, carefully attempting to dislodge a few of the thorns with a couple of shakes and gently plucking at them with his teeth. Of course, he wouldn't be able to get them all. It was so embarrassing, he didn't know if he should go to someone for help. The idea was mortifying. But he really couldn't reach a lot of the thorns. And eventually, it would be found out. His decision to fall asleep near the bush was idiotic. He knew he rolled in his sleep. He hadn't known about the thorns, of course, but he should have figured it would have been a rude awakening regardless.

The cub... was he holding back laughter? Faruk felt himself bristle. Which, in turn, brought a wince as the thorns adjusted in his fur. ”Who else?” he asked a bit peevishly. This lion was going to act like an oblivious idiot! Faruk gave him a short glare before he worked at the thorns that he could reach. He didn’t even know how he was going to reach some of them. But he would not ask this rude youth for help.
”I don’t need help,” he muttered, yanking one from his tail with a wince. Nearly done with the front. The back was going to be hard… He remained silent when the cub commented on how it looked painful. It was painful. He didn’t like lying. But he didn’t want to tell the cub the truth. Silence was the best option.
He paused, however, when the other offered an apology. Blinking, he stared before slowly nodding and then looking to the side for a moment, thinking. ”Could you… get the ones back there? I can’t reach,” he admitted lowly, embarrassed.
