◊ FRIENDLY Detch is quite friendly when he is comfortable around someone. He doesn't have a hard time with getting along with people, however he doesn't like being surrounded by complete strangers. The friends he does have he willingly talks to with no problems.
◊ CLEVER Due to his goblin heritage, Detch is particularly clever. His mind can easily understand complex problems and come up with solutions, and it is a rare moment when he is stuck on a problem. He also has quite a mind for numbers, and loves number problems.
◊ OPEN-MINDED Unlike his brother, Detch is particularly open-minded. He's seen the effects of bigotry and doesn't want to have anything to do with it. He is willing to listen to and mingle with everyone he can, regardless of who they are or where they come from. He judges people based off of their actions, not what they are.
◊ CREATIVE Detch is also creative. He doesn't have an issue coming up with new and innovative ways to solve problems, and when confronted with a unique situation, he doesn't have an issue with improvising to find the solution. CHILDHOOD Detch is the youngest son of Rundark and Courtney Horne. His birth was overshadowed by the messy divorce that ensued between his human mother and his goblin father. As a result, he and Byuch, his older brother, were shunted between homes all the time, though Detch was quite unaware of the rather messy implications that fact actually entailed. Byuch also tended to shield his brother from the rather heated arguments between both sides of his family, and when Byuch went off to Hogwarts to study, Detch was left being argued over.
It was during this time that Detch realized that both sides of his family were being really stupid, and decided he wanted nothing to do with the parts of his family that argued the most. This was made difficult due to the fact that the most of the arguing stemmed from both his mother and father. However, he saw just how much it had affected his brother, and made a conscious decision to be as open-minded as he could be. As a result, by the time he hit the age he was accepted into Hogwarts, Detch refused to take his brother's lead in wizard hate and instead tried to be as friendly as he could be with everyone.

POST GRADUATION Information

SCHOOL YEARS
- ◊ FIRST YEAR Detch was immediately sorted into Ravenclaw when he arrived at school, and also managed to make some friends while in school. One thing, however, that bothered him quite a bit was his brother's attitude. He hadn't realized just how bad Byuch actually could be, and by the time the end of the year came around, Detch had decided something needed to be done about it.
◊ SECOND YEAR Detch decided over the summer that he needed to tell Byuch exactly what was wrong with him, which went over as well as expected. However, Detch wouldn't budge from it and refused to talk to his brother as a result. When the school year rolled around, he ended up spending time with friends and schoolwork to keep away from his brother, which worked relatively well considering how everything seemed to be at the end of the year.
◊ THIRD YEAR Detch eased up a bit on his brother during third year, but he still thought that his brother needed a lot of work. In addition to that, he also cracked down on studying when he got new classes, though most of the choices he made for electives were influenced by his goblin family.
◊ FOURTH YEAR Fourth year Detch ended up working on his schoolwork more often than not. He especially realized that OWLs were coming soon and he wanted to prepare for that. He also realized he might be developing a crush on Elvira, but chose to focus on school rather than anything regarding that.
◊ FIFTH YEAR Fifth year Detch was named prefect. He also had to deal with exams and Byuch deciding that when he graduated, he was moving out with Detch. Detch didn't mind, though, considering their parents' history regarding them.
◊ SIXTH YEAR Detch and Byuch moved out of their parents' homes, much to the consternation of their parents. However, Detch figured that it was a lot less stressful now than it had ever been, which was something he had wanted for a long time. He also started up his NEWT courses, vowing to be one of the top students of his classes.
◊ SEVENTH YEAR Seventh year Detch was named Head Boy, so along with his usual duties he had to direct the other prefects. He also had to study for NEWTs, which was hectic in its own right. He also finally got around the nerve to ask Vira out during one of their study sessions, and the two began dating toward the end of the year.
