Physical Description: Lifa is tall and very gangly, with black hair and brilliant green-teal eyes and lightly tanned skin. She usually wears loose clothing, but when there's thread this means extra layers. Her right arm is covered in a sleeve tattoo of crysanthemums and dragons while her left bears a sacred geometry pattern with a flower beneath it.
Personality: Lifa has a love for her family that makes it very difficult to sort her out easily -- beyond that when she was Searched, those not related were surprised. Lifa is not asocial as she is merely quiet and calm. Although not much of a risk taker she IS methodical and plans her approaches... But she also has a deep spirituality native to her home cothold that surprises many even now, and helps her remain optimistic.

History: Lifa was the second child of her small family in her cothold and as a young girl was very close to her brother, a strong hunter for the cothold. While it was uneventful, the pair grew closer as they grew-- so when Lifa was Searched, her brother tattooed the family symbol on her left arm under her own first to remind her of her family and home. After a few years as a candidate, an overabundance of candidates and underabundance of eggs made her make a list for Candidates phased out -- but in her dragon's clutch, the last at 18, she was Impressed by a Brown, Susanoth. When Susanoth and Lifa were Weyrlings, however, everything went to hell. Thread returned while training, and Lifa promptly began to aid the fight with Susanoth. The pair served two years, however at 21 on a flight, Lifa found her cothold deserted due to Thread, and, finding signs her brother lived, Lifa and Susanoth left the Weyr, beginning to roam Pern to find her family, and have roamed since.

Physical Description: A lovely lighter brown with light brown stripes behind his knobs, and a light brown chest and stomach.
Personality: Susanoth knows he's awesome. Can his clutchmates do it? No. But he doesn't care it makes him AWESOME. Named for the Japanese stormgod, Susanoth is a strong, healthy, and wild young brown whom loves a good challenge, and taking risks. He loves chasing goldflights, he loves to cht to others, and looooves making sure everyone knows he's great. Where Lifa seems quiet and overcautious, Susanoth balances -- Susanoth is a risk taker and very, very social. Although many think he and his Rider would not have bonded, Susanoth did so with her with a desire to bring out the best in her -- and she hi. The pair temper one another well, and they have remained close since Impression.

So Lifa's history needs some tweaking.

1. Where was she born and raised? I understand some cothold but where on Pern was it?

2. Where was she Searched and where did she Impress? Depending on where that could affect her history/upbringing.

3. Thread could not have returned while she was in weyrling training as Threadfall in our Pern returned IRL April of 2016. So this means it's only been just over a turn and a few months that it's been falling. So your dragon would have been 6 Turns old, about and well out of weyrling training.

4. Depending on where she Impressed, and if she remained while Thread fell, she would have been unable to just abandon her duties. You will need to give her a reason to have abandoned the Weyr (if she was in one) before Thread's return or, if nothing else, immediately after it fell. Many Weyrs have been trying to get riders to return. Currently, riders are heavily discouraged, if not ordered/commanded to stay. Right now we've a rule that those who are at Weyrs can't just leave/abandoned their duty. It's one thing to be released / transferred / allowed to leave.. quite another to just desert.

While it is certainly your decision whether you would like to stay or go, I feel that it's important to clarify that we do have a subforum that has been set aside to outline the timeline, including the date of the First Fall.

MH tends to be exhaustive in her responses when she feels that there is something that needs to be clarified or tweaked, and I think that as it's very hard to discern tone on the internet, this may have come across as harsh.

However, you will find that we are very approachable if you do have any questions or concerns. We have guides and information threads available in clearly labeled subforums. While we do not yet have a character creation guide that links to these threads, that is certainly something that we can put together in the future.

I'm sorry that you've felt that there has been consistently harsh criticism and difficulty accessing information.
