- ↳ Leon’s ‘base’ animal is that of a mighty lion, but while lions are known for being golden, he is black as the darkest night. Unlike most shifters, Leon doesn’t like to show off animal features (ears or tail for example) while he is in his human form, instead he chooses to blend into the rest of the populace. He does have a tail whilst in his human form, but he chooses to keep it hidden in his slacks most if the time - forges are hot and his tail is sensitive, not to mention some people can be prejudice towards shifters. His fangs are also prominent, but are easily hidden with the appropriate facial expressions if need be, although sometimes they're useful if someone needs to be intimidated... He has been known to shift his hands into mighty claws on occasion, but those times are rare.
While in his lion form, Leo has the strength, agility and dexterity of a lion – one of the deadliest larger varieties of cats. While other larger cat species are known for their agility or speed, lions, especially the males, are much more laid back. This does not mean that he is any less dangerous than a leopard or a cheetah shifter. His claws and teeth can be lethal if tested and his roar is mighty – it has been known to strike fear into his enemies.
His weaknesses include, loud sounds due to his sensitive hearing (such as lightning/thunder) and a fear of intense fire (wild fires, i.e. forest/brush fires) – during his short life, he’s experiences several large-scale fires and fears them deeply. He prefers warmer climates but does alright during the colder months that Eoana can be known for. Working in his forge provides him with enough heat to stay warm in the winter, but in the summer, it can be pure torture if the workshop is not ventilated properly – most of his best work gets done in the fall, winter and spring.
As a melanistic lion Leon was an outcast in his pride. He doesn’t like to shift too often – this only reveals his unnatural color and makes people curious. He doesn’t appreciate questions he can’t answer, the most popular of which is ‘Why are you so dark?’
→ Stat Growth:
- ↳ Power: The amount of power he can harness his shifted form is dependent on the User's Power Stat. The power/strength is based off the shifter’s ‘base’ or primary shifted animal. While shifters can shift into other animals, those forms will never be as powerful as their ‘true forms’.
Facts: We are told that the three strongest things (actions) in the animal kingdom are these: First, the blow from the tail of a whale, Second, the kick of a giraffe, and Third, the blow from a lion’s paw – the blow which equates to the blow from a steal hammer. While a lion’s roar is mighty, their bite is lethal as well, the strength of which equates to 1,000 psi or 4,450 newtons of power.
1 – 2 Weak Strength – equivalent to a cub or young lion playing/rough housing. Bite/swipe with fangs and claws are enough to break the skin but not enough to do deep, lasting damage.
3 – 4 Intermediate Strength - equivalent to a young/adolescent lion’s budding ability to hunt, fight and defend themselves. Bite/swipe with fangs and claws are enough to break the skin and leave moderate wounds or gouges. Only lethal if attacked repeatedly or in a vital area.

↳ Control: The amount of time he can control specific sections of his shifted form is dependent on the User's Control Stat. If the user remains shifted past the allotted time, or forces the shift to remain, he will become extremely fatigued. Nausea will be the first symptom, followed by extreme body aches (to the specified body part) and piercing headaches. If the user continues to force the shifted form, for whatever reason, they will collapse from extreme fatigue and need to recuperate anywhere from 8-12 hours.

↳ Speed: The amount of time he can harness the enhanced speed of his shifted form is dependent on the User's Speed Stat. - ↳ Stealth: While he might not be the fastest cat out there, he is one of the sneakiest. Leon is adept at hunting, especially at night (his dark color giving him the advantage), he exercises patience as well as stealth to hunt his prey and take them down.
↳ Observant As a shifter as well as a Blacksmith, he notices minute details that others might not pick up on. Leon prefers to stand aside and observe an interaction or conversation to gather information before interjecting his thoughts. He is not normally one to draw attention to himself.
↳ Strong Years of working a forge have honed his muscles to perfection. Leon is not one to test in a fight. What he lacks in technique, he makes up for in brute strength and he’s not afraid to fight dirty.

↳ Extreme Cold: While he enjoys the season just like anyone else, Leon is so used to being in front of a fire, that he isn’t used to colder temperatures and can become extremely sluggish during the winter months if not kept busy in his workshop.
↳ Damsels in Distress: Leon considers himself a gentlemen (although his is lowborn) and thus, when someone is in need, whether they are male or female, he will go out of his way to aid them to the best of his ability.

- Leon tends to be quieter than people expect, given his reputation as a prominent Blacksmith. Many expect his reputation to give him a big head, if anything, it humbles him more. He is a bit reserved and doesn’t like talking about his past, the time before he made his way to Eoana to make a fresh start. He may come off to some as a ‘hardened man’ and possibly a bit cold due to his past, but Leon is a very kind and caring man. If he trusts someone enough and warms up to them he will prove to be fiercely loyal.

- ↳ Leon has always been the outcast. From the moment he was born, he was sneered at, poked at, made fun of. Only his loving Mother, rest her soul, loved him unconditionally – even his own father looked down on him. It wasn’t that he was a bad baby, or even an unruly child. It was all because of his color. The moment his mother took him into her arms, Leon’s black tail curled around her hand, a dark and clear indication that he was different. Lions of the Pride were golden like the Sun, not dark as night…Yet, there he was, a young cub, his fur jet black, obsidian in color. His mother loved him, for that is what mothers do…His father on the other hand, looked upon him with disgust. He had other cubs from the liter to dote on, so Leon was left alone most of the time, but when his father did catch sight of him, his disdain was clear.
Although he wasn’t the runt of the liter, he was treated as such. He was but a child, but even children know when they are being looked down upon. He kept mostly to himself, enjoying his time alone, but his siblings and the other children of the Pride couldn’t resist tormenting him when they had the chance – all because of his color. They loved asking him, ‘Why are you so dark?’. They knew he hated it and couldn’t answer the question, because, how could he?
Over the years, he learned to fight and defend himself – mostly through the beatings he received from the other members of the Pride. Eventually, the leader of the Pride passed away and another, younger, stronger male took his place. The male, Thomen, just happened to be one of Leon’s worst tormentors. With his new position of power, he decided it was high time that Leon, the ‘black sheep’ (or lion if you will), be shown his place in the Pride – outside it. After one of the worst fights of his life, Leon was able to escape Thomen’s wrath without sustaining too many major injuries. However, even though he survived, he knew that he was no longer welcome in the Pride (not that he ever had been). With his mother gone, he didn’t mind leaving the Pride behind and venturing out on his own. Leon saw it as a new opportunity and a way to make his own way in life.
He wasn’t naïve, the world was cruel and thus, as he traveled, he learned quickly to defend himself from those who would take advantage of him. To make ends meet, Leon took an apprenticeship as a blacksmith’s assistant and quickly learned the trade. After years of training, he branched out on his own to make his own name, eventually finding his way to the newly founded, neutral city of Eoana. Over the last five years, Leon has become one of the most sought-after blacksmiths in the city. He oversees forging all of the City Guard's weapons and armor. He also takes commissions from the citizens of the city - lowborn and high alike - for blades and armor when he has the free time. His quality work is highly praised and valued.
