The blue lion was on night patrol. Aku light the night shifts rather than the day. There was something calming about the dark sky, the twinkling stars, the stillness of the pride. Well, stillness for the most part. The pride was finally becoming still oncemore, now that peace had returned to the lands.

Aku was glad. It had become quite a tense situation. Moreso because it was his family had ties to a lot of the goings on. He was glad things were resolved.

He wondered how things would be now for the lions of the Mwezi'Johari. He hoped the Great Lion would continue to watch over them.

He had heard recently his brother had welcomed a litter of cubs. He'd have to go visit them soon. He was looking forward to being an uncle. He also hoped that his father wasn't going to be much of an influence on their lives. He'd never gotten along with his father, and was especially embarrassed at his divorce from his mother.

Still, that was in the past. Aku was dutiful to his mother and by extension, the pride of which his lineage could be traced to the royal line. That was why he'd chosen the role of Guard, and that was why he was out on patrol tonight

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, looks like the quote didn't capture.

Ilkay had been in the pride for a little bit of time now. She had come to the conclusion early on this pride was not like her home. No training at a young age for fights, no squabbles with a nearby clan. Nothing. The lioness did not know what to do with herself half the time, so she would wander until the sun rolled around, before sleep overtook her.

Her life was quite different from growing up. She was sure she could get use to the monotony of it all, but when her twin was around, they could pull off the best of stunts (and get in the worst of trouble).

Ilkay did not know if she'd be able to accomplish such things without her sister, but she was determined to try. She'd probably make some sort of name for herself one day, which was fine for her. She did not want to be known as just a huntress.

When night time rolled around again, Ilkay found herself wandering again. She had found small pouches that she decided to wear, but did not know what to fill them with. When she stumbled across a waterhole, the idea came to her mind to make little mudballs she could toss at others from far away. Not the best of pranks, but it'd make due until she found something else to do. Rolling the slick mud together, she made three testers, putting them carefully in her bad before setting off.

She stuck towards what she believed was a quieter part of the pride. Finding a small cluster of trees nearby, she climbed one, waiting for the opportune moment to test her new idea. She spotted a shortly after her climb, when a small smirk placed on her maw. Quietly reaching into the bag, she gently pulled out a still wet mud ball, waiting until the lion was just under the tree before she let it go, it aimed right for his head.

My bad!!! orz

The play attack took Aku by surprise. Though he had been a guard for some time, and the internal pride war was over, he'd never actually had that much experience with unexpected attacks, so he was quite shocked when he was hit by the mud ball, the damp clay sticking too his face.

He jumped around to the direction it had come from but could see nothing. What and how had this happened? He did a quick three-sixtey, scouting for the culprit but could make out no shape of any kind.

He frowned.

"Hello?" he called out, a low growl in his voice. He wasn't quite sure what might be happening. He cautiously took a step forward in the direction the mud had come from, shaking his mane to remove some of the schrapnel.

Ilkay had mastered the art of containing her excitement early on in her life. She found if she started giggling, she'd give away her location faster, and then what kind of practical joke would that be? She smirked when the lion below her made a three-sixty, never bothering to look up towards the sky. It was the perfect opportunity to drop another mudball at him, when he was not looking.

As he called out hello, she paused, waiting for him drop his guard again. When he moved slightly, the female took a chance, her paw releasing the goop right for the male again. She would have to make haste and move from the limb. She was sure he would look up.

Scrambling quickly (maybe a little too quickly), Ilkay shuffled amongst the branches. However, her foot slipped on a particularly weak branch, causing it to also snap from her weight. The brown lioness plummeted to the ground, landing with an 'oomph' as she rolled slightly. "Miscalulated that one." She grumbled to herself, rising to her feet as her violet gaze watched the now dirty male. "Hello!" Ilkay said with a smirk. "Is it raining dirt?" She looked around, even rose a paw to the air to see if she could catch any droplets.
