Strangers / Rogues and Joining the Pride The Vita are of the opinion, that if you have the strength to fight or make yourself useful and keep an eye on your fellow Lion's, you have a place in the pride. Those who can't fight have a place as Peons and those who can fight are kept as Grunts till they can better themselves in the ranks. Rogues or roaming males seeking to assault or 'take the pride for themselves' are often seen with mockery and set upon en-mass by the Blood Guard, Grunts, maybe even the Warchief - if they've especially offended them by their presence. But if lions come willingly, they have two choices; Offer themselves up as a Peon and work their way up to the ranks. Or challenge a duel and take a place as a Grunt. *You do not have to WIN your duel in a JRP, as long as you take part in it you will count for membership - strength can always be trained, it's up to the two dueling parties to decide when the duel have proven enough of the newcomer's merit.*
Other Species Although a mostly lion based pride, the Vita are as any group of individuals and have individual thoughts and feeling towards different races. In the past, they had fought alongside coalitions, clans and packs in return for food or access to water during their nomadic travels to find a home. Hyena's are in particular looked upon rather fondly by the Vita for their strength, as well as Leopards and are often some of the more favored combatants for trophies and Om'riggor. In the event of a joint battle, Vita lions are more likely to side with those they deem the strongest - unless it counteracts their morals on fighting creatures that cannot fight back.
Hybrids Hybrids aren't looked down upon, but they're sparse at best. The Vita prefer those that at least have lion blood in them, like cheeton or leopon and thus have a better chance at holding their weight in the pride alongside the Warsong descendants. There are rarely ever hybrids born into the pride due to the law of the Courtship Hunt; unless a hybrids already in the pride was fertile.
Familiars The Vita neither encourage nor dismiss familiarities with smaller animals, but the preference is definitely 'non-prey' most of the time. The ratel is definitely a favourite of some of the Vita for their indomitable nature and avians make swift messengers from battle to home.
Old/Original Members If you have a blank character that you'd like to have as part of the pride as an original or older member, you can always throw a joining form into the thread with the exception that instead of a JRP - you explain a little of their history with their pride. After it's been accepted you can throw them in for certing!

Strength and Honor!!!! Username: Andranis Name: Xoruk "Wildlegs" Image: [X] Desired Rank: Grunt History: Found by a warband as a cub, Xoruk managed to endear himself to one of the lions in the group with his sheer ferocity. Where did he come from? He didn't know, he just knew he was biting some really big paws and ankles and no amount of being pushed away would stop him! So he was brought home, adopted, and proved as wild as an adolescent and adult as he had been as a cub. With growth came long but strong legs, lending him his battle name.
Strength and Honor!!!! Username: Andranis Name: Rau "Bonebreaker" Image: [X] Desired Rank: Grunt History: The older of a pair of born pride sisters, Rau could easily be called the more vicious of the two. Even as a cub, she earned her name quite well, breaking the bones of anything small she got her little paws on. As she grew, so too did her targets, until she got old enough to join the fighting proper. She became best skilled, then, at quick and surprisingly painless deaths for her targets, and still maintains her old ways of breaking bones.
Strength and Honor!!!! Username: Andranis Name: Kulgha "Boneshaper" Image: [X] Desired Rank: Grunt History: One could argue that Kulgha was softer from the start than her sister, Rau, as from a young age she took to making things out of the bones her sister broke. She grew up getting pushed by her parents to fight more, to be tougher, strong, and she did... But she still maintained her love of crafting. She's proven a time or two that while she LOOKS soft, she is certainly not and will defend her personal honor with quick and harsh paws made nimble by her personal tasks.
