⋮ ۩ ) • • • Giving Ben a few minutes to look over the menu, she soon questioned him. Evie watched as Ben looked up almost confused by his words. She found it amusing but waited. Evie listened as Ben finally caught up to her question. She smiled as Ben listed a few options off before asking her opinion. Evie had only tried a few things but they were all worth a try. "Mm, they have really good french toast..A crunchy french toast and a pumpkin stuffed french toast." She replied, debating on either two for herself.

Sitting across from Evie, Benjamin continued to look over the menu before hearing her speak. In all honesty he wasn't sure what to get. The options in front of him all sounded pretty nice. As he voiced the ones that stuck out to him, he followed with up with a question of his own. Evie seemed to have come here enough that he liked to think she might have an opinion or two on the food. He watched her smile before commenting. "I think I'll have to pass on the pumpkin stuffed. I never truly cared for pumpkin." he replied sheepishly.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • There were many things on the menu to try. She had yet to try them all. Evie was picky at times when it came to certain foods. She however was open to trying new things. Evie responded giving Ben her opinion. She found it funny however as he responded. Evie could understand, pumpkin wasn't for everyone. She laughed softly, "Fair enough, well the omelettes aren't too bad, they allow customization on them, so you could get any of the meats or vegetables you want. " Evie replied, giving Ben another idea. She wasn't big on eggs but there were options.

Benjamin did not think of himself to be a picky eater. However there were a few foods that he had just never cared for, with pumpkin being one of them. Something about the texture and the flavor, it just wasn't for him. As he expressed his dislike for the vegetable, he heard Evie laugh behind his menu. His cheeks warmed slightly but soon smiled at her next suggestion. "Now that might be something I could get behind. Where do you see that?" he asked, scanning the items once more. He had to wonder where he might have missed something like that. The idea of an omelette with his favorite vegetables, a bit of cheddar, and some turkey sausage sounded pretty good. The sweet stuff could wait for another time.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • Evie couldn't help but find teasing Ben amusing. The man was cute when he blushed. She suggested something more along the lines of something he was most likely to eat. Evie enjoyed sweet to savoy. She smiled as Ben replied about the idea of an omelette instead. "In the middle, under chef's specialties." Evie replied as she turned her menu around and pointed it out to Ben.

Try as he might, Evie seemed to know how to get to him. He found her brand of teasing to be quite interesting despite making him look a bit like a fool. Cute was not necessarily a word he would use to describe himself. He liked to think he was at least somewhat handsome, maybe charming. But cute? No, not since he was very small and cooed at by his mother, her friends, and other relatives. Benjamin looked down at his menu once more as he was given another suggestion. Unlike Evie, he preferred more savory foods and didn't have that big of a sweet tooth. Once in a while he might get something sweet, but he didn't make a habit of it. Hearing the woman speak, he glanced her way to see her smiling as she pointed out the correct section. "Ah, I see now. Thank you." he replied, smiling back at her. Looking to where she had pointed he soon found what he was looking for. The options listed all sounded so good. He was sure that the French toast was good, but the idea of an omelette sounded even better.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • Indeed Ben was handsome, she couldn't help but tease him though. Evie didn't think Ben would enjoy it if she voiced her emotions on him just yet. They were still getting to know each other. She didn't know what was okay and what wasn't. Evie knew they still had a little before they got married. She was still working on the idea of them getting married, even though she knew it would always be inevitable.

Pointing out the section on omelettes on the menu, Evie nodded, smiling at Ben. "You're welcome." She replied as she looked down over the menu more in case something else caught her eye.

It wasn't long before they were greeted by a waiter. He went through the specials and recommendations before asking what they wanted to drink. Evie ordered herself a cappuccino which had cinnamon and nutmeg in it for now. She also gave her order of crunchy fresh toast as well. The waiter took note but never wrote anything down. He turned his attention to Ben to see what he wanted.

In truth, he wouldn't have minded at all if Evie chose to be honest with him. However, he could understand why she might be hesitant. Despite knowing one another their entire lives they'd hardly spent any time together. It was crazy to think that sometime in the near future they'd actually be walking down the aisle together. Benjamin was glad for the opportunity to get to know her a bit before making that leap. As they continued to discuss their breakfast options, they soon returned to own menus. It wasn't long before they were approached by a waiter. He looked up towards the man as he went over the lists of specials and other offers before taking their order.

Benjamin motioned for Evie to go first and waisted patiently while she gave both her food and drink order. The waiter scribbled the aforementioned items then turned his attention to him. Benjamin ordered himself a black coffee to drink, as well as an omelette with spinach and turkey bacon for his meal. After taking their order Benjamin handed back his menu and smiled politely. He waited until the waiter was out of earshot to turn his attention back towards Evie. "So, this is a pretty cozy spot. How did you find out about this place?" he asked curiously.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • After they ordered, Evie handed off her menu as well. She glanced as the waiter left to go put their order in and get their drinks. Evie returned her attention toward Ben, who questioned her. She smiled as Ben spoke. Evie shrugged slightly, ”A friend of mine brought me here a few months ago and I simply just can’t resist it every once in a while…The foods good and so is the atmosphere.” She replied as she answered his question. Evie wasn’t much of a cook, but that wasn’t to say she ate junk food all the time. She could cook, though tended not to, as she was likely to burn boiling water on the stove. Not because she let it, but merely because she would forget it was boiling. She’d also burned chicken in the oven once. Her apartment stunk of burnt chicken for a few days. Evie didn’t like to cook much, she was more a quick meal person, like salads and smoothies at times especially if she was cramming for a test.

Sitting across from her, he took a moment to admire their surroundings. Nothing was too over the top or boring to look at. It had a nice atmosphere and he was curious how she came across such a place. He watched her smile and give a slight shrug before answering. Benjamin listened as Evie explained, smiling back at her. "Well, I do hope everything is as good as you claim it to be. So far, I have to say that I'm not at all disappointed. I can see why you like it here." he replied honestly. Benjamin wasn't much of a cook either. He tried his best, he wasn't a world chef by any measure. But he could at least make simple meals for himself. Compared to his youngest brother, he was practically a wizard in the kitchen. Samuel, bless him, was better off staying out of the kitchen rather than trying to get better at cooking. He would likely burn down the family home. Benjamin pushed the thoughts aside and returned his attention back to Evie.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • After shortly ordering, it wasn't long before their waitress returned with their drinks. Evie thanked her as she pulled her drink closer. She picked up the cup by the handle and blew on her cappuccino lightly. Evie listened as Ben replied. She leaned forward as she took a sip of her cappuccino. Evie smiled at Ben after tasting her drink. "Well, then I'm glad you're enjoying yourself so far." She responded as Ben commented on her understanding of why she liked this place. "So do you do a lot of your own cooking or do you eat out a lot?" Evie asked curiously wanting to get a better understanding of Ben's eating habits. She was interested in learning more about Ben.

While they chatted, the waitress soon returned with their drinks. Benjamin watched as the mugs were gingerly set down before them. He too thanked the waitress and slid his own mug closer. Feeling the heat radiating from the ceramic, he didn't even bother trying to steal a sip just yet. Instead, he continued with their conversation, commenting on the look and feel of the restaurant. He found her smile to be infectious as she soon responded. Smiling back at her, Benjamin listened to her next question. "Uh, well kinda, but not like anything fancy. Like that stuff our moms are always having the caterer's make. That is definitely beyond my skillset. But I can at least be trusted with the stove and grill for a few simple meals." he replied. Benjamin didn't mind talking about food or their eating habits. Like so many other things, it would be better to get it all out now before their big day and they were suddenly finding out that their tastes and diets might be completely different from one another.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • While she sipped on her cappuccino, Evie couldn't help but make conversation. She was enjoying herself, learning about Ben. Evie liked learning about her future husband. It was better to learn now before their wedding than after. So far, there wasn't much she didn't like about Ben. Evie listened as Ben spoke about his ability to cook. She found it interesting. "What's your favorite thing to cook?" Evie asked curiously, wanting to know more about Ben's eating habits.

While waiting for his coffee to cool some, Ben watched Evie sip her own and listened to her questions. He too enjoyed learning the tidbits of his future bride. She was sweet and seemed to have a good head on her shoulders. Not some of the other girls in their circles that seemed to only care about money and how to spend it. In some ways he understood, after all, he was a child of a privileged family. But he also understood that that family money, not his alone to spend however he pleased. Besides, his life was quite comfortable for the moment, he couldn't think of too much more he could want or need. As they continued speaking, Benjamin informed her of his mediocre cooking skills. Without hesitation, she followed it up with another question. "Hmm, probably chicken. It's so versatile. You can eat it on it's on if you're feeling lazy, throw it on a bun for a quick lunch, add a vegetable if you're looking for something more filling. If you have more patience and skill than I do, you could fry it, or chop it if you want to be simple, put it in pasta." he replied smiling. Benjamin didn't always have the best eating habits but he did try to be mindful about what he put in his body. That wasn't to say he completely avoided sugar or salty snacks. He still had cravings every now and again. He just knew when to tell himself that it was enough and he ought to go put something back in the kitchen before he ended up eating the entire bag.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • Evie saw nothing to be hesitant about. She was about to marry the man before him. Evie wanted to know all she could about him. Sure, there were some secrets to be left to the imagination but still she was curious. Evie listened as Ben spoke, answering her question. She understood, indeed chicken was versatile. Evie sipped her cappuccino as a few more questions came into mind. "Mm, yes. Chicken does have many options…And what about a late night snack? What's your favorite?" She asked, smiling at Ben.
