Things were quiet. They were too quiet. Thresher's restlessness was something Miyuki felt in equal measure, though her response to it was to play with the paintbrush in her hand. She spun it through her fingers until they reached the top of the elevator and she could see over the wall. There was a statue of Jashin, much larger than a bijuu, standing over the middle of the village. Her heart sank; this could not be a festival, an event, or a training exercise - no, this was something far worse.
Her blood felt chilled at the sight of it. Her words were toneless. "We need to go. Now." And then she took off running towards the statue, which thankfully would be easy enough to track down. But as she ran into the village, it became more and more likely that the statue was standing over the main hospital, and that could only spell trouble.

"Spire or the statue?" She wasn't sure what Kenshin's plan was. It might be best for them to split up. They needed to wrangle up all the jinchuuriki here but going to the Kage for direction was a good move, too. But Kameyo didn't like the large Jashinist statue any more than Kenshin must've, and it looked like it was in the middle of Arashi where the largest hospital was...

When Kameyo lamented that they were gone only briefly before the must destruction was wrought on their home. "I have the vast vision of the great tenseigan, yet I was still blind to what the cultists were plotting. The caul has been removed from my eyes but it all still looks the same..." Kenshin glared at the Spire and yet his fixation continuously returned to the statue of Jashin. Even in his reformed ways, the fires of retribution burned in his gut. "There's no time to regret, Kameyo. We must go to the hospital, that's where our aid is most urgently needed." Kenshin spoke with resolute resolve before flying as quickly as he could up to the village. Once he was in the sky, he would home in on the hospital.

Hotaru skidded to a halt at gates of the village. "See I told you I was faster!" Hotaru said to Seo who was only coming into the area at a slight job behind her brother. It was clear she wasn't into this race that her brother had decided to start on the way here. "Can you for once take things seriously? The entire village was just nearly destroyed by those Jashinists." Seo would say in response as she stopped next to Hotaru. "I am taking it serious. That guy with the mask told us to hurry. What's a better way to hurry than race each other?" Hotaru grinned at his sister. Seo would only grimace in annoyance at her brother before taking a look around the surrounding area. "Where are the others? The guy said something about a man named Takao and a puppeteer named Lilou." Seo diverted the conversation to the task at hand as quickly as she possibly could. "I don't know. Never heard of em." Hotaru put his hands behind his head and leaned against a wall before sliding into a sitting position. "I'm sure it'll be enough time to relax a bit though." The man closed his eyes as he spoke, Seo not bothering to deal with her brother's actions at the moment and only keeping an eye out for the other people needed for the mission.
Takao arrived at the gate feeling relaxed. He just hoped he could see his buddy in the Leaf because he really needed a moment to breathe in that jazz store. "Hey, team," he said to the twins as well as Lilou would arrive as a series of paper cranes. "I know we don't really know each other -" he paused to look at Lilou thoughtfully. "Well, I don't know you very well but I'm plenty familiar with your evil puppet. But him aside, I think this will be very successful. Are you all ready to head for the Leaf?" He patted his pocket to remind himself of the Gold Scarab cigarette box that rested there, though he wouldn't have himself smoke just yet. "Now, Arashigakure is not grounded at the moment so we'll need to fly. If you need my assistance to do so, I can make that happen." With that said, he produced the chakra to fly, covering his teammates with the same chakra if they needed it [ Solo Flight ].

Not long after Takao arrived did a swarm of multi coloured cranes manifest into Lilou, who was half way through tripping and promptly fell over all in one spectacular and implausibly clumsy motion. The heap that was Lilou brought herself up with a scrunched up “Owieee!” face, reaching out to grab a scroll that she was meant to be holding but let go of from her fall, standing up and waving hello at the others enthusiastically, totally unfazed emotionally by the fall. She offered her warm smile to the twins as she mouthed the words Hi there, Can you understand sign language? My name is Lilou! Her hands placing the scroll in a pocket and signing the same question at them, besides when she reached her name in which she separated her hands palms closed as she energetically threw them into the air as several paper cranes flew in the air and unfolded behind her to reveal her written name in big letters, her hands opening to throw glitter and colourful,thin party confetti strips into the air behind her so it would fall over the cranes.
With her excellent introduction nailed, no way the Hyuuga twins didn’t think she wasn’t awesome and fun at this juncture(a personal subjective viewpoint of hers), Lilou would grin and nod at Takao to confirm she was ready whenever he was. Unleashing a small amount of paper that would join her floating name before it would all move away, spinning in a wide circle to create enough space before a massive plume of smoke would erupt in the centre as she summoned Aishala. The massive and mostly black falcon adorned in an ornate silver helmet sat upon the area her paper had sectioned off, her posture straight and eyes locked on Lilou who waved and motioned quick instructions toward her. ”I understand your instructions and will execute them with perfection Princess Liloulou!” She declared with an unneeded amount of fervour to her tone, totally unflinching with the casual use of her dads nickname from when she was much younger, Lilous smile at this time faltering slightly as her face began to brightened and she attempted to not make eye contact with anyone as she flailed silent, desperate complaints at the Falcon with her hands. After this Lilou would indicate that anyone who wanted to could ride Aishala with her, the creature more than big enough to accommodate them all should they wish to ride her instead.

Ability:The blessed protector -The act of protecting her charge is Aishalas main purpose as the loyal of dutiful guardian she is, so great is this Vigor that when she uses her action in a way that would explicitly protect her summoner, it will be cost on rank less and ignore any overwhelming. By protect this means to help them dodge, attempt to block or attempt to counter an opponents attack that would specifically do the summoner harm. -Wind/lightning ▰ Evasive maneuvers | Rank: B | Cost: (complex) Aishala will accelerate and take extremely complex shifts in angle and direction all the while moving great distances whilst doing so. This allows her to zoom out of the reach of attacks aimed at her, even against spiritual natured ones of equal rank to this technique. Upon reaching the foe she will slash at them with her claws and attempt to grab them, her speed bonuses mirrored into strength and if unblocked/unavoided the victim with be considered grappled and suffer tier 2 trauma, if they chose to block with of equal level taijutsu technique they or their weapon will either get grappled or in the case of Buki they will have their weapon yanked out of their hands lest they pay stamina equal to the equivalent power of this techniques rank to keep ahold of it. ▰ Hard headed | Rank: C | Cost: (complex) This technique is only used when not ridden, Aishala will pick up an immense speed and zoom low across the ground and will at the final moment upon approach of her target, tuck her wings in and start to spin so fast that she looks a small tornado. This will end with her flying helmet fist into the target, blowing barrier/non evasion oriented defensive techniques up to one rank greater in power and send to victim flying thirty feet(fall damage) through the air and suffering tier 2 bodily paralysis. Aishala suffers tier 1 trauma at D-rank when ramming through techniques one rank above this one or if she looses in the collision.

"Well, that wasn't long enough." Hotaru said as he opened his eyes to see Takao was now with them. Seo had been watching his approach as he was one of the few notable people in the area at the moment. Only moments after Takao spoke, a swarm of cranes became a person. Seo's eyes narrowed a bit as Lilou fell in place. 'What? She doesn't know how to control her own technique?' Seo thought to her brother. 'Oh leave her alone. Mistakes happen.' Hotaru replied to his sister, smiling at the puppeteer as he rose to a standing position. The man went to help Lilou up but, by the time he could attempt to help her, she was already up like nothing had happened. "It's alright that we don't know each other. Got plenty of time between here and Konoha to get to know each other!" Hotaru replied to Takao, his smile still beaming. The twins focus both went back to Lilou as she began mouthing words and signing. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to reply. Maybe you can teach me some so we can communicate with you better?" Hotaru would reply, feeling a little disappointed that he wasn't able to speak back to the girl. However, the display of her name quickly put him back in a good mood. "Oooh that was pretty cool." Hotaru would say as he admired Lilou's name. Seo thought it was a little over board for a name, but she decided not to comment on it.
Both of the twins almost shuttered at the thought of having to fly all of the way from Arashi to Konoha. "I know how ironic this is about to sound since we live on a flying rock and all, buuuuuut... We can't fly there. Last time we tried it, I nearly passed out just from seeing how high up we are. At least with the village we can pretend we're not flying." Hotaru chuckled awkwardly and put his right hand on the back of his neck, rubbing it slightly. "But, uh we can just shunshin to keep up with you guys. We don't have to worry about getting lost or anything since you know..." Hotaru gestured at his plain white eye, his byakugan then activating with just a thought. Seo meanwhile watched as Lilou summoned a falcon. Seo thought about hopping aboard the creature for a moment, but decided it was likely best that she didn't. "Or we can go to sleep and you guys can carry us there." Seo would reply with a joke. A joke was something that was exceedingly rare coming from her. After all, she was the serious one of the twins. Perhaps some of her brother's words were taking some effect on her.
Takao was pleased at Lilou's offer, though he much preferred his own flight after practicing it with Chomei. The twins' reaction was a little unexpected but he supposed if their shunshin could solve the distance problem all the same then it was really six of one, half dozen the other, so he couldn't complain. "Right, well, I guess as long as you don't get lost on the way then it shouldn't be a problem. But I wonder if I can help with that flying thing of yours. Well, alright. Let's hash things out further once we're at the Leaf."

She hummed thoughtfully, thinking back to what she learned about the reclusive nation in the last month. “Probably wouldn’ hurt to meet wit’ them, ya. I heard they’ve gotten themselves a new Shogun recently, too. Though we should still tread lightly after tha’ war from last month.” Thresher sighed as she thought about what she’d need to do, as politics weren’t exactly her strong suit. But the moment that Miyuki kissed her (after bumping her with the Kage hat at first) the Ninja Hunter grinned again. “Ya got nothin’ t’ worry about! I’ll be back b’fore ya know it!”
That had been some time ago now, maybe thirty minutes, since Thresher had shared one last kiss with Miyuki. Now the Hoshigaki stood at the exit bay from Arashi, waiting for the shinobi she’d selected from the pile of folders. This one had helped defend the village during the attack, and rather impressively too. But still, Thresher wasn’t one to be patient, and was tapping her finger against her crossed arm while she waited.

▱▰▱ Sharkskin | When the Hoshigaki's blade makes contact with a target, they absorb chakra equal to the defense used. They can also start with an additional [2] bukijutsu styles.
▱▰▱ Aquatic Mastery | The user's suiton techniques may be doubled in size for no additional cost. This does not effect the strength of the user's suiton techniques. In addition, should the user's water ninjutsu or clan techniques interact with another suiton technique, the user's technique steals one rank of chakra from the opposing technique. If this overpowers the opponents technique, this technique continues on it's path normally.
▱▰▱ Can't be Tamed | The clan member is able to use bukijutsu while in half/beast mode, and natural weaponry (fangs, claws, horns) can be used, logically, in lieu of formal weapons. Their resourcefulness in beast form translates into their anthro/kemonomimi form, allowing them to use bukijutsu for one rank less cost (does not stack with other bukijutsu reductions).

▰ Flame Breathing Pattern [ Kaen Kokyū Hōhō ] | Rank D | Training The user is accustomed to the unique and various breaths that it takes to preform physical attacks as well as to channel chakra. In the middle of all of this, he'd still not had time to check on his mother and he was certain her nerves were shot. He would have to make it up to her after their quick excursion.
He turned to Rieyar just to double-check. "Good to go?"

Akari and Ao approached the gate not too long after Thresher. Akari seemed deep in thought as she approached the shark woman. She couldn't stop thinking about what her younger brother had told her. Why would they join the Jashinists? Kiichi of all people? None of it made sense. The attack alone was enough chaos to throw everyone through a loop, but how could she lose family members to such an insane cult. Once Akari was a few feet away from Thresher, her eyes looked up at the woman. "Hello. I'm Akari Nekonokami. Are you Thresher?" Akari would ask her. The woman after all did fit the description the anbu officer had given her, but her thoughts constantly wandered back to her family during that conversation. 'They better be okay.' The saddened woman repeated to herself in her own head over and over. No matter what she was going to get her family back, but for now she had to play her part as a shinobi residing within Arashi and seek out those disgusting Jashinists. "I'm sorry it took me so long to get here Miss Thresher. I'll follow you when you're ready to leave." Akari would answer once Thresher had answered her question.
The medic seemed quite perturbed by their still damaged robes, especially in the context of a trip back to Kumoito. “Please define good to go. I am fairly certain good is not a descriptor I would use for many things at the moment.” They said with a hint of annoyance, not at Kaito but at the general state of things. While many were likely happy to see the damage to the village and its people physically undone, Kenshin’s eyes could not soothe the wound the medic had received. Though Rieyar did experience a sense of relief that people were safe, they also harbored a slowly growing panic. They had abandoned everything they’d held as ideologically vital, things they’d regarded as core to their very identity, in a desperate moment only to have the conditions that created that moment wiped from existence. To call the experience traumatizing would be an understatement, and only Rieyar’s own confusion about how to feel in the first place kept their emotions in check.
Kaito gave a nervous laugh at Rieyar's response. It was a fair self-assessment, he was sure, and it seemed obvious that they were both dissatisfied with the events that went down. It felt like there were a lot of loose ends and there was a lack of closure surrounding both Toso's disappearance and the Jashinist attack. He rubbed the back of his head, having no good response to Rieyar's request for a definition. "I think we'll have to define 'good to good' as 'possessing the ability to leave'. Gods, I hope we come back and the village makes a little more sense," he admitted with a slimmer of his usual humor. With nothing else holding the two back, he walked through the gates towards the lightning empire.

tab Ishikura made his way to the Storm Gates from the docks he'd arrived on. Having tried another way he'd been pointed towards the gate by some shinobi. So here he was. Two of his guards flanked behind him and he stood, looking for someone who might just be able to let them in.

Akari Fujioka looked to see an unfamiliar man who had a small entourage of his own. "Who are you?" She asked, one hand resting by her side and the other on her sword's hilt as usual. Her posture was pretty relaxed, though her voice was stern. She took her time looking the man up and down. It bore no Konoha headband, so she doubted he was a shinobi from over there. He didn't quite seem to carry himself like a shinobi, but he was also clearly trained. "And what is your business here?" She knew the new kage didn't want the guards to be unwelcoming, and such a quick return with the Jashinists did not seem likely, but she couldn't afford to let a threat enter the village.
