Blood burst at the top of Yaguri's broken lips as the force of Kojiro's blow forced his stomach contents to burst up. Once Kojiro forced open the mouth the scroll would be revealed. Inside the scroll was a poster of Celene, who was forced into one of Selina's costumes. Neon font read on the top and bottom of the scroll, "Once in a life time show! See the great Celene Rosewater perform!" There is no information of what time the concert was, or where it was. In Vala's mouth was a similar scroll, with the details for the performance being at the temple of the Gods two hours from now. This meant that, if Kojiro moved quickly, then he could possibly reach it before the next part of the plan was enacted.
The encounter with his mother over, Kaito was happy to lead Avalanche to the building the Yamanaka psychologist was at. As he reached for the door, however, the sky turned a foreboding red. Kaito froze up as an unwelcome feeling came over him, and he turned to look at Avalanche with dread. Something was definitely wrong.
He looked at his own hands and tried to put a finger on what was wrong. He performed a Kai, but the sky remained red, so it couldn't have been a genjutsu. Everything was darker and harder to see like there was an eclipse going on. "Let's shed some light on this," he said before snapping his fingers to make a Hikariton jutsu come to life.
Except nothing happened.
He kept snapping his fingers, but nothing happened. "I- Avalanche, I can't do anything. I don't have access to my light abilities." He felt like there was something huge missing from him, making him grip his own arms protectively as the vulnerability began to set in.
With the clear blue sky shifting to a violent crimson hue, Avalanche first looked up before they looked over to Kaito. Their hand moved to their sword as Kaito found himself unable to access his hikariton techniques. "Stay behind me then." The vigilante said as they moved in front of their partner, using shifting eyes to try and locate any threats which was causing this disarray. No matter where they looked, however, they saw no one. There wasn't a single enemy in the immediate area. At least, none that they could detect. "Use your sensory to find a source. If it's not in Arashigakure, then prepare to leave." They said sharply. Whatever was causing this was affecting Kaito, which meant that it was the highest priority. Avalanche wanted to justify it by reasoning out that his partner not being at full power would hinder their investigation into this Antioch individual. However, truth be told, it was concern that drew them to wanting to protect their comrade.
▱▰▱With Antioch dead, Kenshin hurried to the housing district to find Kojiro and Selina. He followed the impressive sight trail of his byakugan and was only made to travel faster when he saw Vala and Yarugi's condition and Kojiro's general distress. "Send medics to Yamata street in the central residential district immediately." Kenshin spoke into his radio and was copied. He hurriedly marched through the area before running through Selina's entryway. Kenshin's normally stern face became pallid and painted over with deep concern before he immediately took action. "God damn it." Kenshin grunted in shock under his breath before he grabbed a firm hold of Vala before performing the Heimlich maneuver to safely remove the scroll that was choking her. Vala and Yarugi's gruesome condition was enough cause for Kenshin's concern but his reaction was amplified further by his supposition of the horrific impact this would surely have on Ada. Once the scroll was removed he handed it to Kojiro and nodded to him to read it before he grabbed both of Ada's royal guard subordinates and ran them outside as the medics arrived. Any emergency patching up would be done on the spot before they would be promptly taken to the hospital. Once Kenshin re-entered the home that was torn asunder he gave a solemnly concerned look at Ada before snapping back into focus on Kojiro. "Where's Celene? We need to secure her immediately." Kenshin focused on maintaining his breathing as he awaited Kojiro's response. With Antioch taken care of it seemed that the tide was turning in their favor and completing the objective successfully needed to be his central focus for now.

Crackling and thunderous dark blue lightning can be applied to the katana's edge at any rank and the same lightning can form a dragon head formed from electricity over the body of the user for 10 posts. This allows all spiritual techniques the sword comes into contact with to be slashed through and even cut in half at the same rank despite the complex nature of the technique. For half of the original cost to activate the technique a same-rank spiritual electrical energy slash can be sent out from the slash of the blade. Kaito nodded and took Avalanche's advice, performing a sensory technique but receiving nothing conclusive. He shook his head, not sure why everything was going wrong lately. "I don't sense anything. I- we should handle this business first. I don't know what we can possibly do about my Hikariton jutsu but I wouldn't be able to live with myself if we dealt with that before the corruption of the APD." He chewed on his bottom lip as he thought, still sure in the back of his mind that this was too much for them to handle, but equally reassured by the vulnerability Avalanche had shown earlier with removing their mask. He couldn't let their faith in him mean nothing.
"Let's get what we need and save the village from itself!" He said confidently, slamming the side of his fist into his open palm in a burst of determination and inspiration. "After you," he said with a smile reminiscent of his usual joyous self, opening the door to the Yamanaka's alleged office for Avalanche to enter first.

Selina rushed to the scene and gasped at the onslaught. Vala and Yaguri, two of Ada's confidants and dear friends, were on the ground in horrific mutilation. By Kojiro's quick thinking the two were still alive, and with that Selina went quickly to work. Since both were in critical condition, Selina first began by infusing them both with heavy doses of medical chakra. Once the emergency of their condition passed, Selina used her Miyamoto abilties to transfer her bloodline into the two of them. Flower petals then materialized from them and started to repair the limbs which were haphazardly sewn together. In approximately an hour Selina's master class healing abilities would have the two of them fully recovered, excluding psychological damage. Unfortunately, as she needed her focus to repair the two thoroughly, she was unable to be a part of the rescue Celene team. It was for that reason she looked up desperately at her friends fighting back tears. "Please bring her home safe." She pleaded.

Avalanche sheathed their blade and looked over to Kaito. Although their companion was original in a state of disarray, he seemed to find it in him to recover the composure necessary to continue the mission. Had the situation been in reverse, Avalanche was fairly positive that they would not have that kind of clarity of logic. It was incredible to see in their partner, and Avalanche felt no choice than to live up to the expectation Kaito had for himself. "Very well." They said softly, trying to mask the amount of admiration they had for him. As they entered the building and reached for the psychologist's office, the young blond woman in her early thirties. She looked at the two approaching teenagers and waved politely.
"Good evening. Strange weather, huh?" She said, referring to the bizarre red sky outside.
"Strange indeed. Are you the psychologist here?" Avalanche asked sternly. The woman laughed as she nodded. "Well I did go to school for the degree. It would have been a shame to change to a plumber after doing all of those exams." She said relaxed. "My name is Dr. Haruka Yamanaka. Are you both here to schedule an appointment?" She asked casually. Avalanche felt the compulsion to explode again at the implication that they would be here for themselves, but since Kaito was still keeping himself composed, Avalanche tried to do the same with deep, almost exaggerated breathing. "We are here on police business. Kaito?" They asked, hoping that the one with people skills would hopefully take over the conversation.
"Right," Kaito nodded after Avalanche tossed the conversation over to him. "We have reason to believe there is corruption in the APD. We can investigate all the officers we want, but we really need the abilities of a mind-reader in order to find out the exact extent of this. Can we count on you to help us interrogate?"
He had been beating up on some officers earlier that morning when Avalanche found him and saved Kaito from his self-destructive self. He was certain the two - or three - of them could grab one of the punks from a detainment cell and find out the exact details of the cops working for criminals. He suspected a heavy hand in narcotic dealing, but he couldn't allow any bias or hunch to cloud his judgement. They could be dealing with mobsters or something worse. "Please; we can't trust other officers because they could be in on it. This has to be an outside arrangement." His hands were on his hips, his shirt lifted just slightly to reveal his badge despite the fact he had every intention of turning it in and walking away from the force.
Dr. Yamanaka listened to Kaito's pleas as she took a moment to reflect on the information. "How are you both positive that you are both not part of the problem?" She asked suddenly. She then became a little sheepish as she clarified. "I didn't mean for it to come out so blunt. But you are both trying to overcome the corruption of the APD. In order to purge a problem, it must be removed from all corners. If both of you carry that taint, then it'll linger within you both until it finds a new place to fester and grow." She said calculatedly. Avalanche scoffed at the notion. "I am no APD agent, and thus my conscious is clear." They stated sternly. Dr. Yamanaka turned her attention to the masked vigilante. "And yet you used your parent's APD status to force negotiations. Even if you are not an officer, you still seem to know how to use their manipulative tactics." Avalanche wanted to fight her, but bit their tongue at the idea that their own manners were becoming akin to the force they have animosity toward. Their arms folded in front of them as they turned away in a huff. "I am sorry, but until you both prove to me that you two are not part of the problem, I do not believe I can in good conscious assist you." She said softly.

Frustration bubbled up in Kaito before he checked himself. He was of course hurt by the idea that he could be corrupt after giving up so much to try and save APD. "If we cleared 99% of APD of corruption so only 1% remained, wasn't the task still worth it? Isn't it better to do things in inches if we cannot in miles, or should we just sit on our hands as police brutalize the very people they swore to protect and serve until we can come up with a fool-proof method of removing the problem? We can only do our best to compensate for the darkness and violence that lives in the hearts of people - and ultimately it is impossible to prevent, isn't it? The abuse of power? But we can instill reasonable checks and balances that find the problem and remove them from power. If it saves only one life, if it prevents only one innocent conviction, wasn't it worth it?
"Yet you ask that we prove we're perfect? I can't do such a thing. But you could look into my mind, couldn't you? And see my intentions? See my qualifications... How much corruption I've witnessed that needs to be addressed. You know there's a problem and you expect me to be perfect before I can criticize a corrupt system? I'll hang up my badge when this is over; I have no intent of being a part of the problem. Where do you stand?" As he finished, he realized just how much he was returning to his old self while in Avalanche's presence. He was back to being his idealistic, chatterbox self, and he was determined to pay Avalanche back for returning him to himself after all the trauma of the last few months.

__ Ada's hands trembled with a focused rage even after lifting them from the ground after her attack. She watched the man be annihilated by the brunt of Kenshin's assault and Zeshin's followup. The lightning that danced across the ground from where she stood scattered into fading low hums. Thoughtlessly, Ada just watched where Antioch had been felled. A hurricane of worry and doubt was encaged in the fear which stilled her so. She only snapped back to reality upon feeling X's heavy hand rest on her shoulder. He just gave her a short nod, but the confidence in his quiet reassurance once again reminded her of her training. A lipped thank you was returned to the blue warrior and they left Antioch's hideout to rendezvous with Kojiro's unit.

Ada felt the cage of fear tightening around her again as they neared Celene's residence. The shaded scarlet red that blanketed the outside world did not help her manage very high spirits either. She had already heard that her subordinates were in poor condition at the scene, just as promised. Kenshin's sympathetic gaze was lost as Ada came to carefully analyze the carnage left upon the pair. Those more skilled than she was administered first aid and stabilized their conditions, and she appreciated them beyond words for their effort. For a while, her gaze stayed on hotheaded Nara self-outcast. She remembered meeting him as a key witness in an investigation at the capital. It was a dreadful mess sorting out his innocence against the framing of a very disreputable merchant guild. 'A man with the courage to turn away from that easy path. You have always lived your life truest to the way you want it to be. All while never ignoring the weak or suffering...' Then she looked upon Vala's mangled visage. 'A priestess of just might. Vala has always done all she ever can to improve herself. To be over greater service to those around her than any would ask.' Ada closed her eyes and bowed as low as she could from her standing posture. "I am so sorry. Vala. Yarugi. I believe in you to stay as strong as I know you both are. When you awaken, I swear that I'll have made up for my mistake." The woman stood upright again fighting back her tears and offered a salute to the unconscious duo of Royal Guard trainees. X joined in on the salute but gave no word on the situation.
The young woman returned her gaze to Kenshin when he asked Kojiro for a report on Celene's whereabouts. Ada wouldn't fault him if he they had gotten away since it was clear he fought to save her subordinates with everything else going on. Her gaze drifted from the anticipation of that matter to see Selina making her way toward Vala and Yarugi. X remained focused on Kenshin and Kojiro while also being mindful of the cadet's whereabouts when plausible. Ada began to feel a sense of awe as Selina's unique healing method began its process. In fact, the process would synergize with Selina's ability to share her powers best with Vala. The young Miyamoto girl was also a natural empath with an impressive amount of skill. The healing effect was impressive even at the "normal" rate for Yarugi's wounds. Ada was ready to leave with the others whenever, but she would just watch Selina work until she had orders or a lead to act on. This sensless carnage and exaggerated reverse psychology had gone on long enough as far as she was concerned. 'Clearly he intends to break out sense of morality by instigating extreme stress.' She closed her eyes to continue the thought, 'If he just wanted to make me irate then he at least succeeded in that. However!' Her mind flashed with the faces of people she knew to have suffered throughout this case from first-hand and the reviewed reports. 'He's making a huge mistake underestimating me. The fear of pain and loss are inevitable in this way of life. I'm the last person who needs a reminder of this truth. Antioch and anyone associated to him will face justice for these selfish indulgences for the simple sake of sewing chaos.' Her resolve was now fully reaffirmed. Whether Antioch was actually dead or not, or if he had allies lurking in the shadows- Ada would make sure to protect as many as possible in these necessary times of peace and limitless potential.
Kojiro's fists and blade would free the clues needed to reveal Celene's whereabouts. His green crackling aura radiated violently from him as his eyes sharply shifted back to Kenshin who had secured the scrolls after they were safely removed from the throats of the two subordinates of Ada. He was so stunned that he hadn't considered what happened to get them here...what might have happened aside from this. His bloodied hands gripped the scrolls and opened them, parting the clues together to deduce Celene's location. 'Temple of the Gods...' he thought to himself as he glanced toward the building in the distance. He took a step before Kenshin would call out to him, asking him where she was. Selina's sobs would drown out what other background chatter echoed through the area. Her only spoken words were "please bring her home safe." His eyes shifted over her as they appeared more fierce by the moment. " Without fail."
Kojiro's foot steps continued as he shouted back to his Captain."Temple!" and with that his form would vanish from the sight of the others around them with the exception of Kenshin should his ever watchful gaze still be active.

• Blazing Crimson Mirror [ Moeru Shinku no Kagami ] | Rank S | Complex The user channels their chakra into their blade, rotating in a complete circle as they catch an incoming projectile attack, including ninjutsu and bloodline ninjutsu with the edge of their sword, hurling it back towards the source as they complete the rotation. This technique must be used at the same rank and potency as the technique it is countering. In addition, if compatible with the user's element, the attack thrown back has that elemental effect applied to it.
• Flash Wind [ Senkō Kaze ] | Rank B | Complex The user slashes both blades vertically directly ahead, creating two chakra blades that are five feet in length that travel towards their target for twenty feet. These two blades travel along the same path, making the second blade nearly invisible. When defending or evading the technique, the target must expend two activations.
• Detainment | Complex | Rank A Either by using traditional means or producing cuffs, rope, or some other binding material out of chakra the Officer may when making contact with an individual [2]-body ranks below their body rank immediately bind them restricting all movements and sealing their access to the use of their jutsu temporarily {3}posts. Those that are [1]-body rank lower compared to the officer's body rank are still bound upon immediate contact however, still have access to their jutsu for a means of escape assuming they've a method aside hand signs. Using normal materials does not impart a cost, creating binds out of chakra requires an amount of chakra.
Technique Active: • Kaiser Armor | Rank S | Spiritual The Kaiser armor is a staple of the style. In it's base form it is not visible to the naked eye but chakra floods every inch of the user's body. While active, the armor prevents damage equal to it's own rank. In addition, it prevents the user from having their stat decreased below their natural states.This armor lasts for three posts at C rank and an additional post for every rank additionally applied. In addition, Formless complex and spiritual techniques gain this lightning affinity as well if specified when utilizing the technique. • Fluid Movement | Rank E | Training Techniques used for a blocking, countering or evasive action have their cost reduced by 5 stamina per rank of the technique and must pay no less than 5 stamina. • Whirlpool Walking | Rank C | Training The user is now more adept at using circular footwork and can use it against multiple attackers, usually weaving between them, keeping them bumping into each other or simply getting in each others way, taking away any numerical advantage. In the deflecting stance, the user can deflect a technique of their body rank or lower once every three posts for no activation, still requiring the stamina/chakra cost paid. • Move as Water | Rank A | Training Description: The user has dealt with so many situations being outnumbered that their ability to move in tight and confined spaces is greatly increased. The user’s blade work is tighter, relying on their body and footwork to generate force. The user’s footwork is so fluid that they are able to turn on a dime, making a combination of strikes go into multiple directions without interrupting the combination. Techniques that target multiple opponents may now have additional reserves paid in order to strengthen the effectiveness of the individual attack to the next highest rank.These can be paid individually, not requiring chakra or stamina to be paid for every split technique. • Illusion Dancing | Rank E | Training After countless hours of practicing skills that utilize chakra pathways, the user is capable of leaving after images of themselves at the turning points of each pathway for an E rank amount of chakra during the execution of the technique. • May Wind, October Rain | Rank E | Training Focusing on their opponent's breathing, the user is able to detect abnormalities in their breathing patterns, indicating an offensive movement. Once every three posts, the user is able to defend against an offensive activation without utilizing an activation. This skill requires no chakra or activation. • Blessed Rain | Rank C | Training The user's informed of the incoming costs of what is to come, and as such, must practice their chakra control through controlled bursts from various parts of their body. Chakra cost for complex and spiritual bukijutsu techniques reduced by five. • Insight Rain | Rank B | Training The user will practice extending themselves into the atmosphere, in a sense. After much dedication, the user develops the ability to sense hostile intent within the topic they are in. Those of Sensory Class are able to detect the specific source and the extent of the hostility. • Heavy Punch | Rank E | Training The basis of the style, punch hard, punch first. The user is able to spend stamina in order to increase the strength of their punches for no activation. The overwhelming trait only applies to a single element at D rank, increasing to two at B rank and three at S rank regardless of the number of elements the ninja has. Your ninjutsu are not mirrored per element, but you gain an additional 3 Ninjutsu per rank up. Also allows for one handed seals. {The Overwhelming Trait does not apply to anything above S} • Mystic Hero [ Bukijutsu ] | The user has become adept at blending their ninjutsu and bukijutsu. The user is able to cast ninjutsu from their weapon without the use of hand signs by simply pointing the tip or blade in the direction desired to launch the technique. This requires the same amount of time as the forming of hand signs to cast ninjutsu. They are also able to Korabo 1 ninjutsu and 1 bukijutsu at their body rank and below for a single activation every 3 posts. The user also gains an additional 3 ninjutsu slots each body rank. • Ninjutsu-Bukijutsu | Allows the user to gain +2 ninjutsu per rank. Arriving after the lieutenant had already left the area, Zeshin strolled into the area and looked around. Things seemed bad, but what had actually taken place here? His eyes moved around and took in each aspect. Unfortunately it looked as though their members were wounded and so badly that it made this look more like the scene he had been expecting where they came from. Zeshin felt it was too cold to say anything about the subject. He didn't really know any of these people too well, but even he could tell that saying something like 'this is terrible' would have been so far from reassuring that he refused to say anything.

There was very little he could offer or even access for now. This area seemed to be the real scene by the looks of those involved. Assuming this place was the true intention, we fought a fake. This means that strikes involving the blade cause physical damage including stab wounds as well as seal tenketsu points and any other effects of the technique used through the sword. An additional 5 chakra can be applied to the blade to prevent it from causing physical damage from thrusting but instead seal tenketsu points and inflict pain similar to a stab wound in the area struck but slashing attacks can still cause damage. Half the resource cost of techniques from the rapier style of Sen Gekiretsu Nagareboshi applied allows the technique to carry the tenketsu sealing effects of a same-rank palm strike such as a B-Rank carrying 64 Palms effects. Getsuruito must be in its rapier form to use this ability and 5 chakra can be spent upon activation of this technique to transform it as such. The Righteous Sword of the Sentinel technique has a 10 post duration before necessitating re-activation and costs an E-Rank amount of chakra. The initial activation of this technique consumes an action but all subsidiary abilities of the technique do not.
Smiting Blade of the Night Watch [ Naitō Otchi no Sumittinguburēdo ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Spiritual When this technique is activated it crackles violently with night blue lightning for the entire duration. The electricity from the blade also forms bolts of lightning over the body of the user and appears to supercharge them. Whenever the blade is swung or thrust over the duration the user can fire a concentrated blast of ten bolts of lightning to accompany the strike equal to the rank applied but for only half the cost to initiate the technique. Hatake, Raiu, and Sage enhanced lightning can pass through the blade and apply to these lightning bolts. The bolts cause a thunderously deafening sonic boom and can inflict tier 2 burns upon direct contact with the lightning. Additionally, these lightning bolts can be freely applied to all complex bukijutsu for no action cost to smite enemies. The only action cost is when the technique is activated and all subsidiary abilities of the technique do not consume actions and only chakra. This ability can be used in both forms of Getsuruito.
Draconic Sabre of Moon Sundering [ Getsu Sandaringu no Dorakonikku Seibā ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Complex This is the original ability of the ancient Getsuruito blade and thus requires the original katana form. 5 chakra can be spent to transform the blade to its original form upon activation of this technique. Crackling and thunderous dark blue lightning can be applied to the katana's edge at any rank and the same lightning can form a dragon head formed from electricity over the body of the user for 10 posts. This allows all spiritual techniques the sword comes into contact with to be slashed through and even cut in half at the same rank despite the complex nature of the technique. For half of the original cost to activate the technique a same-rank spiritual electrical energy slash can be sent out from the slash of the blade. This same cost can be applied to any complex bukijutsu to achieve the same effect. The original 10 post activation of this ability consumes an action but all subsidiary abilities do not.
