They'd been back in the desert for some time now, a place he'd known his whole life. Even when they'd had the large joining thing, and many had been out at the Bonelands outpost, Kiran hadn't felt the urge to go, despite Aurinko being there all the time. Then an expedition had been scheduled, and because it would take his mate so far away, Kiran had followed.

Boy was he happy to be home! Too much grass, too much moisture, too much... A lot of things.

Still, when Aurinko went to the border post, he followed. Something drew him, perhaps a worry that they'd get attacked and need medics. He still remembered the stories about when they'd been attacked, how there'd been no medics at the border to help. His aunt still bore the scars from it, the stiffened muscles and joints, likely from having to walk on her injuries all the way back to the medical wards.

He didn't want that to be a thing that happened anymore, personally, and had brought multiple things with him to the outpost. One had been a particularly nice rock, found near the dens in the cliffs. What he was going to do with it, all the way out here where the sand met the grasslands, he wasn't sure, but he was sure he'd find something. The pale lion toyed with it, laying under the scant shade of a near-dead tree, and watching the horizon. Perhaps, today, something interesting would happen.

She was in awe, at the moment. It took a while to get here, but when she had heard that there was a desert pride living nearby - a desert in general - Meera had to see it. A passing rogue had been the one to tell her of it, and though they had warned that she likely would not be welcomed into their lands, that didn't mean that she couldn't peek, right?

And boy, she could already feel the heat too. It wasn't as strong as being in the desert, she was willing to bet, but it was certainly there. It was a different heat than what she'd encountered by the sea too. That had been a moist heat, whereas this was... dryer. Goodness, she hadn't thought that there would be a difference!

Tail swishing excitedly, Meera leapt up atop a nearby hill, in the hopes of getting a closer look. She could already smell the borders ahead of her, a sign that she should stop here, but.... oh, she wanted a closer look.
