Gazing across the landscape, Lian frowned at the sight of snapped twigs. Definitely something larger than a bird did this, but it was hard to say what, exactly. That said, there weren't any claw marks, which led him to believe that it was a creature that didn't use claws to attack. Another good sign.

It looked like whatever it was had left the tree though. Perhaps they had decided to move on at the sight of so many lions nearby... or perhaps even at the sight of him looking through the trees. That was also a possibility.

He might be able to follow them though. Sliding his way down the tree, Kite walked back over to his cloak to throw it back on.

Enzi just sighed. He wasn’t getting anywhere with this. In fact, he didn’t even know he was even in a game until he found someone to help him. Letting his head fall a little, he decided to sniff around. Maybe he would be able to track a hare to hide one. All he smelled were other lions. Did they have the same idea as him? Well that was a great thought.

Grabbing it between his teeth, Lian tossed his cloak back over his shoulders with a flurry of snow, and then turned back to the tree. His eyes scanned the trail of broken branches for a minute, before he nodded and started making his way down the way it seemed to be going. Hopefully they hadn't gotten too far yet.

The walk itself was rather uneventful. Now that he was walking away from all those other people, the forest was quiet and still once more. With a sigh, Lian took a moment to stop and stretch. He’d like to take a nap after this, he decided. Recharge after all that searching. Hopefully, if he found a hare, they’d be up for a rest as well.

Giving himself a shake, the white lion went back to observing the trail in the trees.

With a sigh, Lian moved his gaze down from the trees and frowned as he noticed the trail disappearing. That must mean that whatever had done it... was nearby. Eyes narrowing, he stopped walking to look around, eyeing the bushes and piles of snow around him.

Hm... best place to start looking was probably the bushes, and then the piles. If there was something suspicious, he'd stop to investigate it more thoroughly.

So with a nod, the lion moved forward to start shuffling through the leaves.

This searching in the snow stuff was getting a bit boring. Maybe if he actually found someone, they could look together. He could smell another lion in the area. He followed the smell until he came across a white lion with interesting markings on him.

“You there," he called out to him as he made his way towards the male. “Hello.”

He was head-deep in the bush when the voice called to him. Popping his head back out, Lian turned his gaze over to the brown lion, "Oh, hello. Here to find a hare as well?" That's what he figured, anyway. After all, most everyone else was at the feast.

He snorted, "I'm not having much luck, myself. These hares sure know how to hide."

Bopa peered up to look around him, there were others still looking for new partners. He thought there probably were other hares in the snow, they were just very well hidden. He thanked his stars that he had been lucky early on in this search. “Do you want to go to the feast?” He tilted his head lightly at the hare. “I can introduce to you to my brother and his partner.”

Kali nodded. “That sounds nice, we should let these guys finish their hunts.” She looked around at the other lions still searching. It seemed the other hares that were hidden were hiding very well, she thought she had hidden pretty well but obviously she was mistaken. “Let’s go and enjoy the feast.”

As he waited for the other lion to respond, Kite padded his way over to the next bush and started shuffling through it as well. So far, nothing, and he sighed as he turned his attention to the mounds of snow. Shuffling through that also proved fruitless, and with a huff, the lion plopped himself down into a sitting position.

Maybe it was a time to take a break. He'd been at this for a while, and for all he knew, all of the hares could have been found by now.

The white lion closed his eyes, deciding to take a minute to just enjoy the crisp air and silent atmosphere. This was such a peaceful place, he thought with a smile, and he was looking forward to exploring it further. He supposed that, even if it took longer to find a hare companion, he would still enjoy his time here.

With a hum, he opened his eyes and looked around the treeline again.

It was peaceful, looking at the leaves blowing in the wind, and he took a second to just enjoy it before pulling himself up. After casting a glance at the other male, Lian lowered his head to start sniffing at the ground. He almost wished he was a canine at the moment. Their noses could probably pick up a hare's scent from a mile away.

He snorted at the thought, shaking his head. What a silly thought! He liked being a lion, so he would just have to make do.

With a grunt, Lian pulled himself up and over a nearby boulder, hoping to get another high vantage point. Tilting his head to the side, he scanned the area for another new spot to search. He was running out of ideas though, and with a grimace, he thought of how disappointed his parents would be to see him failing to miserably at tracking a hare of all things. To be fair though, this was new terrain for him and he was likely not the only one struggling to find any hares.

That said, he was considering heading back to the feast, maybe finding a nice spot to curl up under and nap. He would find a hare companion eventually, he thought with a sigh.

Hmm, he would check back at the lake before giving up, he thought with a nod. Maybe he'd just missed something there.

The walk back was uneventful, to say the least, and involved but quiet flakes of snow occasionally dropping the trees onto his fur. Giving himself a quick shake, Lian yawned as he reemerged at the lake. At first glance, it looked like nothing had changed since his last visit, which was fine. It meant that he could rule out the places he's already searched.

He licked his lips, eyeing the water before making his way over. A quick drink wouldn't hurt.

Walking over to the water's edge, Vegliantino dipped his head down to lap up a few mouthfuls. The cold gave him a bit of a shock at first, but he shook it off and continued to refresh himself. It probably shouldn't have been surprising - if anything, it was more shocking that the lake hadn't frozen over! Now he wished he could see it like that. Perhaps some day.

Giving himself a shake, the white lion tried to map out where else he could look, spotting a nearby dam of trees. That seemed a good a spot as any, he thought with a nod, and the lion started heading over towards it
