Silence was nothing knew between Abel and Kieran. Just because they were friends in a sense, didn’t mean they had much to say. There were similar in a way, not needing words to enjoy their meal. Abel saw no need to talk especially during a meal. He much preferred quiet to the noise of things around him. Abel was hardly annoyed with Kieran’s company, if anything he enjoyed it. He saw no reason to explain himself and glad Kieran didn’t ask too many questions. Not that he could answer if he did.

Dinner finished, with Abel thanking Kieran softly before leaving to head back upstairs. Kieran went about collecting the plates and started washing up. He didn’t think Abel had any plans tonight, after all he had been locking himself in his office lately. Kieran didn’t bother with questions. He knew about what Abel did, but didn’t involve himself too much in Abel’s affairs. Kieran was merely the bodyguard in eyes only, but in private Abel took care of himself.

After he finished washing the dishes, Kieran went upstairs to find Abel. He didn’t think it would hurt if he left for a few hours. As far as he knew Miguel had been keeping his distance. He hadn’t seen him for a few days, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t good at his job.

Walking upstairs, he found Abel behind his desk again. Kieran wished Abel would listen to him, if he told him to actually get some sleep. He leaned against the doorway, as he crossed his arms. ”I’m going out for a few hours, do you need anything before I go?” Kieran asked, as Abel looked up at him tearing his eyes away from the computer screen. ”Nah, I’m good. I’m going to jump in the shower soon and maybe get some sleep.” Abel responded as he leaned back in his chair.

Kieran nodded, ”That sounds good. I’ll get back in a few hours than.” He spoke waving slightly goodbye, as Abel returned back to his screen. Kieran headed downstairs, grabbing his phone, wallet and keys by the table near the garage door. He opened the door, heading out toward the car. Kieran unlocked it with the key fob. He opened the door slipping inside. Kieran pressed the garage door opener, as he started he car up.

Backing up, he barely took note of his surroundings. He hadn’t been worried about Miguel, enough that he couldn’t leave Abel alone for a few hours. Kieran started down the road. He turned the radio on, as he listened to it low. Kieran enjoyed the sound of music, as he usually didn’t turn it on with Abel in the car. He continued down the road, heading toward the club. Kieran didn’t think Miguel would be there, but it wasn’t as if he was going to find him. He wanted to enjoy himself for a few hours without having to supervise Abel.

Jakob watched the two closely as they ate their dinner in silence. It seemed rather boring. Then again, Cornelius's house was always crawling with men who never shut up. Eating in silence might be nice change for once. The only time Jakob got to eat in peace was when he ate in his room or out alone like the other day. As the minutes ticked by, it was getting a bit tedious watching these two but remained vigilant.

Nearly half an hour passed and Kieran was the first to stand from the table. He watched him collect the plates while Abel said something, maybe a thank you or something of the sort. It was hard to tell really. Abel was the first to leave the kitchen while Kieran kept the kitchen. It was rather odd seeing him so....domestic. "So is he like the maid as well as the bodyguard?" he asked himself. He really did wonder how these two had come to have such a relationship. It was almost weird to him. While their personalities seemed to be on par, there were some subtle differences about their outward behaviors. In public Abel seemed like a feral cat that just wanted to be left alone. Whereas Kieran was.....Well they weren't talking about Kieran. Kieran was Kieran and that was all that mattered.

Focusing on the kitchen again, he noticed that the other man had left as well. He searched the windows and saw nothing. Damn it! he thought. Did they go upstairs? Is it one of the rooms where the windows are blocked? He wanted to know but he couldn't see anything. It was too early to move closer. What if he got caught. Jakob forced himself to remain where he was.A few minutes ticked by and the garage opened slowly. The familiar black car pulled out of the driveway. Jakob ducked down as Kieran turned into the street. He pulled his hood closer as the male drove by him. He stayed still, fearing that he might be seen.

When the sound of the car started to fade, Jakob pulled back his sleeve. It was nearing eleven-thirty. Just were would Kieran go this time of night, knowing that he was after his boss. Oh well, more time for Jakob to stalk the man. He didn't care where he was going, he just hoped that he would be gone for a long time. He turned his attention back to the house and continued his work.

Once the sound of the car, alerted him Kieran was gone. Abel closed down his computer. He sighed softly, standing as he walked out of his office, heading toward his bedroom. Abel turned on the light, as he went about removing his dirty clothes. He had a bad habit of not sleeping for days, running on fumes. Abel however wasn’t tired. He threw his dirty clothes in the hamper. Abel made his way toward the bathroom, he flicked the light on as he made his way toward the tub. He wasn’t in the mood for a shower, much too lazy.

While waiting for the tub to fill up, Abel went back toward his office. Walking through the house naked, never bothered him. He went around to his desk,as he pulled open the top drawer. Abel grabbed out his pack of clove cigarettes and a lighter. He returned back to the bathroom, as he turned off the water. Abel set the pack of cigarettes and the lighter down by the table near the tub. He moved toward the small closet, as he pulled out a towel and washcloth.

Returning back to the tub, Abel set the towel on the counter but took the wash cloth with him. He moved to get into the water, as he took a seat. It engulfed him, warming his body. Abel took comfort in the hot water, as it steamed around him. He relaxed in the tub as he sat there. Abel leaned back, as he slipped beneath the water allowing it to cover him. He took a few seconds beneath the water, before coming back up. Abel ran a hand out over his face moving the water from it.

Closing his eyes, he relaxed there for a little while. It wasn’t often he got to enjoy himself alone. Abel knew that Kieran didn’t hover, but it wasn’t as if he was alone by himself in the house. He opened his eyes, as he dried his fingers off on the washcloth. Abel reached for his pack of cigarettes and lighter. He opened the pack pulling one out, as he slipped it between his lips. Abel cupped his hand over the end as he lit the cigarette.

Setting his lighter back down, as he inhaled a little as he allowed the smoke to fill his lungs. Death never bothered him, why should smoking seem to bad. Abel leaned his head back against the top, as he slipped the cigarette back between his lips. He closed his eyes, enjoying the taste of the cloves. Any other cigarette would have bothered him, he blamed Kieran for his bad habit. Abel sighed softly as he lay there, enjoying the heat of the water. If he wasn’t careful, he was likely to fall asleep in it.

Crouched in the cover of darkness, he was surprised that Kieran would leave his companion so easily. Especially knowing that he was still after his boss. He had to wonder if this was some kind of set up, or did he think that Jakob had given up on his task. The thought of running in now was increasingly tempting but he stayed put.

He watched the lights fill another window and Abel came in to view. He watched as he removed his clothes to reveal his many tattoos. For a moment, he wished he could see them better. Jakob had always had a bit of thing for tattoos. They were living, breathing art in his view. Realizing he was getting off task, he forced himself to pay closer attention. He frowned as it seemed Abel had left the room. "Where did he go?" he asked himself. A minute later he could wonder no more as the man returned. He watched as he bent over before ducking out of view completely. He must have gotten in the tub or sat on the toilet. It wasn't exactly clear from his viewpoint. Jakob watched a little longer before noticing the streams of smoke. This one was going to be a handful, he could already tell.

Still, now was his chance to be nosy. Stuffing his binoculars into his backpack, he hid the bag away from prying eyes, taking only a knife and his cellphone. Jakob ran across the street and crossed into the yard. He kept low as he neared the windows. Creeping along the side of the house, he looked for a way in. Vines, a backstair case, anything would do. But seeing none, he was going to have to find another way in. Going towards the back of the house, Jakob crept towards the back window. Taking out his knife, he carefully slid it between the panes, twisting slightly to release the hack of the lock. When it was open, he quietly slid up the window and slipped into the house.

The first thing he took note of was the intense smell of smoke. The air was a tad dry and smelled foul. How much did someone need to smoke in order to make it that unbearable? Or did it only appear that way because he was a non-smoker? Either way, he didn't have time to worry about such things. Jakob crept around the lower level of the house, keeping low and stepping lightly. Must of the items he came across were mundane and of no interest to him. Walking around towards the stairs he stared up them wearily. It might be unwise to go up. For there was no way of knowing what lie in store for him. Still, he could no stop his curiosity. Taking a deep breath, Jakob began to ascend the stairs.

Noise on the stairs, wouldn’t have alerted him to someone in the house. After all it wouldn’t surprise him if Kieran had returned so fast. Abel spent a half an hour in the tub, before finally pulling the plug. He had smoked about two and a half cigarettes before stubbing out the last one. Abel stood, as he grabbed the towel off the counter. He stepped out of the tub, as he went about drying himself off. Abel finished drying off as he wrapped the towel around himself.

Leaving the bathroom, he went back into his bedroom. Abel turned the light on in his closet, as he went inside. He looked around his clothes, knowing that he wasn’t likely to be going anywhere. Abel pulled out a pair of black sweatpants. He tossed his towel aside as he moved to pull on his pants. Abel didn’t bother with a shirt, as he turned out the light. It was early and he wasn’t in the mood for sleep.

Finishing in his bedroom, Abel walked toward the hallway toward the stairs. He went downstairs into the kitchen, as he grabbed the bottle of scotch in the top cabinet. Abel poured some into a glass, before heading upstairs. He kept some in his office for emergencies, but preferred to keep it that way. Abel went back upstairs, heading toward his office with drink in hand.

He was careful as he made his way up the stairway. From what he could tell, the stairs were not brand new nor were they all that old. He did not want to give himself away. Or worse, alert Abel. In his experience, there was nothing worse than an angry man in his most vulnerable state. As he reached the landing, the hall was dim. The only lights on came from the hall itself, and two of the rooms.

The first room he passed, the door was closed and he could hear movement behind it. It sounded like moving watching and something else. He couldn't describe it. It was best he didn't stick around too long. He padded further down the hall, peaking in to the darkened rooms. From what he could see, he could tell they were both bedrooms. But it was impossible to tell which room belonged to whom.

Walking down towards the end of the hall, he peaked in to the room filled with light. It didn't surprise him that Abel would have an office. What man in his position wouldn't have one. He slipped in quietly and looked over the shelves, reading the titles of books, looking at the little knick-knacks, and other items laying about. He walked over towards the computer, looking it over, and was disappointed to find that Abel actually knew how to clean up after himself. He wasn't exactly looking for anything in particular, but it would have been fun just to snoop around.

After looking around for half an hour or so, he heard movement from down the hall. Jackob was seated behind the desk. Already he had gone through the desk drawers, finding only a few items of interest. A set of spare keys, a few old photos, but that was about it. He waited patiently as he listened to Abel leave the bathroom, his footsteps light as they crossed over to his bedroom. Another few minutes passed before the male then went downstairs. He felt a little giddy while he waited. Like a little boy at Christmas.

Jakob took out his knife while he waited. He twirled it in his hand, his ears straining to listen to every step that was taken. Soon, he heard Abel climb the stairs once more, his steps slow and measured. When he entered the office, he looked up from the blade in his hand and smiled. "Good evening, Abel." he said sweetly.

Entering his office Abel turned on the lights. He took note of the man sitting behind his desk. Abel stopped short with drink in hand. He glanced to see a knife in his hand as well. It didn't surprise him to see him so soon. In a way, Abel had been expecting him. He didn't know why but it hadn't been coincidence, that Abel had been seen Miguel, at least twice.

Standing there he smirked lightly, ”I should say it took you long enough.” Abel spoke taking a sip of his drink. He moved to set it down on his desk. Abel remained on the other side of his desk but didn't move to sit. If he did it would only give Miguel the upper hand in this situation.

He blinked slowly as Abel entered the room. He watched as the light was turned on, illuminating all corners. He smiled up at the male and wished him good evening. Abel stopped at the door but it was rather boring how unfazed he looked. Then again, he'd already been seen twice by the man. Perhaps he should have waited a little longer before coming after him. Then again, he wanted to keep eating fresh food this time next month and have a roof over his head. If he didn't come through soon, then it could be his own head Cornelius was after. Jakob watched as Abel smirked down at him. In it's own right it was a tad disturbing. Though not as much as his words. He watched the man take a sip and step closer to the desk. "I didn't realize you were expecting me." he replied honestly. "I'm curious. What tipped you off?"

There was nothing exciting about an unknown man in his office. He wasn't surprised to see him again. Not in the least though it did make him curious. Abel remained behind the desk. He watched as Miguel seemed disappointed by his words. Abel listened as Miguel almost pouted by being caught. ”You gave yourself away. There are only two reasons you should be here because I let you in or because you're here to kill me.” He spoke moving around the desk now. Abel was not very fascinated by Miguel being here. He already knew he wasn't done schmuck off the streets after seeing him react to a pair of fingers as if they were nothing. Abel wished he had something more to give him but he didn't. He leaned against the desk beside Miguel. ”And I certainly didn't invite you.” Abel spoke with his fingers gripping the desk as he leaned back watching Miguel.

Honestly, he wasn't sure what he was expecting from Abel. Maybe he raised his hopes a bit too high after seeing him in the restaurant. And then again when Kieran decided to threaten him. It was no fun if his mark was expecting him like that family member who regularly came to dinner. He eyed the man curiously as he spoke and moved about the room. Jakob couldn't help but scoff as the blame was thrown on him. He could hardly be blamed for eating at that restaurant. If neither man remembered, he was there first, not the other way around. "Yeah right. At least I'm not handing out fingers like they're ******** candy." he replied, sarcastically. Jakob inched away slowly as Abel came around the desk. He didn't trust enough to be this close to him. After all, he'd dug up enough his evil deeds and knew what he was capable of. He listened as the male continued, nodding his head softly. "Yeah...about that, you should really make some upgrades on this place. It was super easy to get in here." he replied. He watched the male wrap his fingers around the desk. How tempting it was just to stab his hand in that place. That would be unwise though. There was no telling how Abel might retaliate. He chose instead to change topics. The longer they both talked, the longer they could both live."But enough of that. Let's talk business. How familiar are you with Cornelius König?"

Indeed Miguel had been at the restaurant before them. He wasn't blaming the male for such things. Only that he was here now made him wonder who sent him. Abel shrugged as Miguel brought up the fingers. ”I could have killed you instead would that have made you feel bettrr?” He asked watching as Miguel leaned away as he drew near sitting on the desk. Abel nodded as Miguel spoke about his security. ”I will consider it but I don't normally have people breaking into my house. Most people knock on the door, after all it is polite.” He spoke watching Miguel with dark curious eyes. Abel didn't care if Miguel moved back from him it wasn't as if he anywhere to go. Abel listened as Miguel changed the subject. It was his turn to laugh, hard. “Oh, you stupid child he is your reason you are here, then you were sorely misinformed.” He spoke finding the reason Miguel was here amusing. Abel had to wonder if he knew the reason Cornelius wanted him dead.

Jakob watched the male very carefully. He didn't trust this one in the slightest. For now he would answer his questions like a good boy, while also digging for answers of his own. After all, Abel wasn't the only one with questions. There were things that Jakob had been curious about as well and he wanted answers. Bringing up the fingers, the man almost seemed bored by that question. He watched him shrug his shoulders and had a resist the urge to roll his eyes as Abel gave him yet another threatening answer. "With fingers? Yeah, that would have been pretty entertaining to watch." he replied, egging the man on a bit.

He couldn't help himself. Despite the obvious danger he was also having fun. Almost as much as when he was with Kieran a few nights ago. As they continued on, he smirked as the male spoke again. "You know, I did consider that. But then I thought, it's already so late. It's after ten, most people don't having guests over. I'll just let myself in instead." he replied, waving the knife a bit as he spoke with his hands.

Jakob took note of the dark look in the males eyes. He didn't know where it came from but he didn't like it at all. There was something almost downright sinister about it. He did not let the uneasiness show on his face, unfortunately though his body had already given him away as he continued to inch away. Escaping would not be easy. Already he was making notes of all his exits and which would be quicker. The window, although the fall would hurt, would likely be his best shot. With hope, he could call that "Plan C".

Jakob went on to change the subject and was taken aback as the man laughed. It wasn't a subtle laugh either. No, this one was loud and hard, as though he had just told him the best joke he'd heard all week. It was....unsettling to say the least. He didn't appreciate being called a child but was not about to correct the man on it. He scoffed as Abel accused him of being stupid and misinformed. "Oh yeah? And what makes you say that? You haven't even heard why ole man Corny's after your a**." he replied, slightly annoyed. Misinformed or not, Jakob didn't really care. He just wanted a paycheck this month. Still, that didn't mean he couldn't hear the man out before taking his life. He was curious to why he laughed so hard. Was he in on some joke that Jakob had failed to read about in his findings?

Answering Miguel’s questions didn’t bother him. After all he was sure they both had some. He had to wonder though why Miguel had taken the job. Abel wasn’t surprised there was a bounty on his head. There would always be one, at least until one of the assassins succeeded. Indeed Abel was bored by Miguel. He found him boring, but he couldn’t just ignore him. Sure he could kick him out of his house, but what would be the point.

Abel didn’t mind that Miguel had entered his house. Though it made him wonder why he picked his office. After all there was nothing to find. His office was pretty bare, regardless of a bookshelf, his desk, laptop, chairs, and his couch. Abel kept all paperwork scanned in his computer, everything else he shredded. He didn’t trust anyone to just come along and invade his fill cabinets.

Standing close to Miguel, he watched as he seemed to eye the areas around him, but not directly with him. Abel could always see the wheels working in his head. He found it amusing, how Miguel thought he had a chance to get away. Sure the window would work, but unless he didn’t break any bones. Abel had a nice glock in his drawer that could kill him just as quick.

As he was told he reason why Miguel was here, Abel had to laugh. It was hard not, to after all the reason for his death was not a reason at all. It was the imagination of a simply stupid man. Abel listened as Miguel spoke, accusing him of not knowing why Cornelius wanted him dead, even though he knew. He had to wonder if Miguel was given the real truth. ”Oh, I know the truth, but do you?” Abel asked remaining where he was watching Miguel. He wasn’t to particular on giving himself away, but if he had to tell Miguel to keep his life then he would do it, if it made a difference but he doubt it would.

So long as their conversation remained civil, he saw no reason not to talk to the male. With some of his personal space still intact, of course. He watched the male curiously as the other was growing bored by his very presence. He had to wonder why the male just didn't kill him if he was so bored. He didn't even bother to tell him to leave.

Other people likely would not choose a room so bland. To Jakob, it held character. As empty as it was, he could tell it was something akin to a sanctuary for Abel. It was likely the place he came when he first got home. As well as the last place he left just before leaving the house. Out of all the rooms, he could have sat down anywhere. But here, he knew Abel was likely to find him first. Anywhere else, he feared Kieran would come home and likely see him before Abel would.

It was never really his business to know why a person would want another person dead. They came to him, gave him a nice set of files, the rest was up to him. When the job was done, he got paid and moved on. It was unsettling to watch the man laugh. As though his very being there was nothing more than a joke. He wondered if he really did know why Cornelius wanted him dead. He doubted it, but he would hear him out first. "I know enough. Someone started a rumor that you and his wife had some sort of affair. Rather than go after the wife, Cornelius wants you." he replied, again waving the knife while he spoke. He didn't really care if all of the details were true. He was't paid to know those sort of details.

Abel was completely bored with Miguel. He still held some potential for usefulness. At least he thought he did, but it was still too early to tell. Abel could tell him to leave, but what would be the use. Miguel had already come this far, in his little game hoping to kill him. He still was curious about him. Abel wondered if Miguel was just passing through, or was he Cornelius’ toy. He didn’t know, but he was looking to find out.

Indeed his office was his sanctuary, more than his own room, or the basement where he spared with Kieran. Abel enjoyed the safety of his office. It if wasn’t in his office, than he likely wasn’t even home. He spent more of his time in there. After all it wasn’t as if he spend his free time watching television. The t.v. downstairs, was more for Kieran than himself.

Abel listened as Miguel spoke, knowing that was exactly the reason Cornelius wanted him dead. ”Hmm, that is exactly it and therein lies the rub. I never slept with his wife nor would I ever.” He spoke shifting as he moved toward Miguel. Abel stood before him, as he leaned down placing his hands on the chair on either side of him. ”And do you want to know why?” He asked smirking down at him, as he remained close to him as he hovered over him.
