While most lions around the pride seemed to enjoy the strange lights in the sky, Ljena was not one of them. She was quite superstitious for a second generation member of the pride, but something just didn't feel right about these lights. It seemed like there was a tendency to agree that something strange was going on but with no obvious harm coming from them, the pride at large didn't seem to mind. Not helping Ljena was the fact that her dreams had become strange and disjointed lately, but she was lucky to be aware of the fact that she was a seer. It didn't help her control her dreams or her visions but it helped her to cope with the strangeness, in her own way.

She had wandered away from the busier areas of the pride, following some lights here and there that she could swear were much closer to the ground than they were the sky.. and ended up somewhere peaceful and quiet where she let herself get distracted by the lights, by her thoughts, by the occasional whisper..

Everything had been so busy since she was formally initiated into the pride, especially since she and Endrita had become part of the High Class. She was grateful but it was exhausting. It was nice to be alone for a little bit.

She had fallen in with an...interesting group, to say the least. And they were...not skilled. So after Aibu had managed to extract what they wanted out of this nearby pride, she told them she would take care of it. Why...they didn't ask why. She didn't offer an explanation and had made it clear that their intelligence was so far beneath her own that it was a waste of breath to attempt it.

So here she was, one shadow amongst the darkness of night, lurking around the edges of the pride. To her great plasure, Aibu saw a young lioness whose white and golden coat practically radiated light against the darkness. Her markings didn't seem to be the right sort though...but Aibu wasn't dissuaded yet. This didn't have to be difficult.

"A strange night," the lioness said aloud as she came near, having relied on her coloration and stealth to get close.

With her eyes skyward, following some of the strange lights around and thinking how obvious it was that they were definitely not stars, Ljena was caught by complete surprise when a shadow nearby turned into a lion- or so it seemed to her. Thankfully (or so she thought) she managed not to scream in her surprise.

"Yes," she said, taking a deep breath to try to cover her surprised gasp, "it is!"

It was hard to see her in the dark so Ljena didn't worry too much about staring. She didn't think she recognized this lioness, but that was true of a lot of the lions she had been meeting lately. A lot of them, thankfully, were easily identifiable by family, but that wasn't always true.

Aibu stood quietly, concealing her intentions as she looked at the sky as well. The lights were very odd and while she'd generally ignored them as something that wasn't directly affecting her, she'd observed that this younger lioness seemed captivated by them. It made her wonder...

"What do you see?" the black female asked quietly. It would be interesting to hear the answer, and would likely help determine her course of action.

"Too much," she answered readily, looking back up at the sky, "But nothing, really? They don't sit right with me, something is wrong but I can't explain it.."

Maybe she was just caught at the right time, already letting herself think through all of this privately and having that interrupted made it easier for her to talk to someone about it.. the more Ljena stared at the sky, the uneasier she felt but not once did she think that it might have an explanation much closer to the ground. Still, her thoughts didn't wander away completely! She looked back down with a friendly smile.

"My name is Ljena," she said.

It seemed like an innocuous enough answer...unless if you were hoping to find a Seer. And that was exactly what Aibu heard in Ljena's words. Which made this a most fortuitous meeting indeed. She might even be willing to say that those idiots' god had arranged things perfectly.

Not that she'd actually say something like that. Still, she wasn't about to spit on a gift, regardless of how it came about.

"I am Aibu," the lioness replied politely. She kept her gaze on the sky but moved closer towards her young companion.

"It's nice to meet you, Aibu," she replied brightly. She was even glad when the stranger came closer, it gave her an opportunity to get a better look at her. Aibu definitely didn't have any of the obvious shared traits around here but it didn't mean much, Ljena had family she looked like but there were so few of them she would probably look just as strange if she stumbled upon someone who didn't know her.

Because Aibu was looking upward, it gave Ljena plenty of time to stare but even she had a limit to how comfortable she could get blatantly staring down someone so she, too, looked back up to the sky.

It seemed that whatever powers the young Seer might possess, seeing her own immediate future wasn't one of them. Aibu could scare conceal her grin as her peripheral vision caught Ljena returning her gaze to the sky. As the younger lioness focused upon the stars and lights, the elder moved.

Adolescents were not as easy to capture as cubs, but Aibu had experience. She lunged at the white and gold lioness, counting on her superior weight to bear the girl to the ground. If necessary, she'd knock her unconscious and carry her away.

The next few moments would determine what strategy was necessary.

Ljena did notice the strange movements in her peripheral vision but she wasn't quick enough to act to prevent them. Aibu still had more than enough of the element of surprise to take down the naive adolescent who let herself believe this was just another pride member. She hit the ground with a yelp and struggled in a panic.

"W-what are you doing!" she demanded, panic rising in her voice.

"Isn't it obvious?" the lioness remarked mildly. "I'm cubnabbing you. After all, you're just an oversized cub playing at being adult. Oh, and you seem to be a Seer, which means somebody wants you."

Even while speaking, Aibu didn't get up, using her superior body weight to bear Ljena down. Eventually the younger lioness would stop fighting back. She wasn't getting especially violent, not so much that Aibu was seriously inconvenienced.

"You may as well give up. Or I'll have to actually hurt you." The tone was as calm as ever, and Aibu's red eyes never wavered. There was a great deal she could do short of killing Ljena that would be acceptable, so long as the Seer was delivered.

I'm cubnapping you.

You seem to be a seer, which means somebody wants you.

Ljena stopped struggling at Aibu's answer, her blue eyes wide at the revelation that this was in fact a kidnapping. It hadn't even crossed her mind that this was not another pride member- how could anybody keep track of them all? But it became very apparent very quickly that this was not the case. Perhaps it was the same mistake a guard had made as she passed by them, if she passed by them..

"B-because I'm a seer?" she repeated uncertainly. Being a seer didn't matter much around here, in fact being a demi-god was a bad thing to talk about in public, she knew that well- did that have something to do with it? Her confusion and the threat of violence ended her struggle.. if she was going to get out of this, she'd have to find another way. Brute force was not her strong suit and clearly this lioness had her beat..

"Yes, because you're a Seer," the black lioness replied patiently. She angled her head so that she could actually see Ljena's face. The blue eyes were wide...perhaps in fear?...and Aibu could feel victory at hand. The younger lioness had stopped struggling and was on the verge of accepting captivity.

If Aibu was kinder, she might point out that the white and gold lioness could focus on the faint hope of rescue. But she really didn't want to offer that possibility. Although it would be highly entertaining...if it didn't happen on her watch. Then her not-quite-employers would look even more incompetent than they already did.

"Now, are you going to behave, or do I need to hurt you?" Aibu asked pleasantly.

Ljena was silent for what felt like an eternity while pinned under this calmly menacing lioness. She was trying to weigh her options but nothing in her life had prepared her for this possibility, all she knew was that if she fought that she couldn't hope to win. She could try to run but she'd have to get to a point where Aibu trusted she had thoroughly won. Ljena had no idea how to judge that but it was her only option.

For a moment, she contemplated screaming for help but saw in Aibu's eyes that she would be quickly silenced. And she already knew she had wandered away from the busy areas, too far she was now realize.

Tears welling up in her eyes, she finally nodded. She'd have to cooperate, it was all she could do.

"Wonderful," the lioness said, finally getting off of Ljena. She didn't fully trust the younger lioness not to attempt escape, but was confident of her ability to deal with any difficulties on the way.

"Now, there's a place we need to be before dawn breaks. Come along and things will go well. Resist, and you'll wish you'd never Seen what others can't."

The sooner they were out of pride lands, the better. For now.
