17. Weren't you just here, like, twenty minutes ago? You've somehow looped back around, or else this is some really weird deja vu.

Chifundo was still out in the rouge land trying to figure out things, she had not really learned much except that weird things were happening across the land so the ghost lights and strange sounds were only the tip of the mountain. She sighed out a deep breath as she walked through the monkey grass. She had to find water and hunt since she didn't have the hunters to help her out here. It had been a series of learning experiences since she had gotten used to depending on the pride. She didn't have to do things on her own. She had been targetting smaller prey, she certainly didn't feel ready to try to take down a zebra by herself and she wouldn't dream of trying to take down an elephant or wilder beast. Both ideas struck her as a good way for her to get killed which certainly wasn't what she wanted to do.

She spotted a gazelle that was trailing behind its herd, she had a thought on the young waterbuck that she had rescued but she dismissed it, she wasn't planning to get attached to another prey animal anytime soon. She pounced on the gazelle killing it as quickly as she could, she saw no reason to cause more pain to the creature then she had to. Life was something that should be respected. Yes, she had to kill to live, but then someday she would die and return to the earth or perhaps the stars. Though she wondered if she was important enough to ever make it to the stars. There certainly were lions who were so remarkable that they should be remembered forever. Chi didn't think she was one of them she didn't feel special, she was merely a guard in her eyes.

She sighed out again and then went about eating her dinner she watched as the sun began to set she smiled a little this adventure had been a nice change of pace though she was looking forward to getting back home to her pride and telling them of the things she had seen and learned in the rogue lands. Clearly, the things had been happening in their pride was no big deal compared to some other things that had been happening everywhere else. She was worried about everyone in the area who knew how far this matter went. This could go all the way to the gods for all any of them knew. She looked up at the sky wishing she had some clue where to find a god so she could ask and perhaps learn something useful for her people. This trip might turn out to be a waste of time, she shook her head no that wasn't true even if she didn't get all the answers she had still learned some new things. Which would make the trip worthwhile at least to Chi.

Chi felt strange and then she was back in the moment where she had killed the gazelle and had dinner, but she could have sworn, she wasn't sure what she thought had happened she felt very strange like she had done this before and this was a retake. She shook her head trying to shake off the strange feeling unable to put her paw on the feeling and why she felt the way she did at that moment. Everything that had happened, happened again and she was unaware of the time loop. She finally moved past that point in time and it was time for bed she found a place to settle down under a tree. She closed her eyes, she would need to find water and more food tomorrow before she started her journey back to her pride. She had met some new lions here in the rogue lands and learned a thing or two. She was looking forward to seeing the leaders of her pride again and she hoped they would find a solution to the ghost light problem even if she couldn't figure it out herself. Chi fell asleep her thought haunted by those blasted ghost lights and their screaming.

She woke with the morning light she needed to start making her way home it was time to head back and face the ghost lights again, she wished she could make them disappear with a thought that would be really nice. Pity, she had no magical powers and she doubted she ever would unless she somehow became a goddess one day. She chuckled at the silly thought as she continued down the path, the dry earth under her paws. She was content with the dry earth though since she had been rained on a few days ago so she wasn't looking forward to being soaked again so soon. She shook her head thinking on the memory. She scented the air so she could find a watering hole. She needed a drink before she started off on her journey. Water was essential to staying alive there was no way any creature she knew of could survive without food and water.

She found a watering hole and looked around carefully to make sure it was safe before she took her drink and then started off in the direction of home. She looked forward to being back home where she knew where everything was and how everything fit together. Life in the rogue lands wasn't bad, but home was home and that was where Chi felt like she belonged she hoped the stars agreed with her that this was the right path for her and the right place for her to be. If she was wrong she would just have to roll with the punches whatever may come. She had things to do and places to be, that place was back in her pride dealing with annoying ghost lights that enjoyed screaming at her for no reason. Perhaps if she ignored them they would get bored and go away Chi could only home that would be the case. If it wasn't she would go mad.
