Special Monster Hunting/Taming
Hunting Open :: Cycle :: 2
Hunting Open :: Cycle :: 2
Description: Hunting is much like doing missions only hunting does not confer any Ryo for its completion unless made as a formal request by an npc or the kage. Hunting will become available and unavailable depending on the current state of the story. Every month or so give or take, the hunting cycle will change offering new creatures to hunt and or tame. There is a randomness to hunting. One could gain more Exp than a typical mission or less of that rank depending on their hunting ability. Decided by the kage of the village every time a hunting mission is done the randomness of it decreases by the hunted amount. As the old saying goes early bird catches the worm. An individual may only 'hunt' a target once. After, the Hunting Location, and the amount of game huntable will typically change and move and the hunt can be taken again assuming there is any left to hunt. In really rare instances the Hunt may not become available again and its these that are typically the rarest. Post once here or either relay the information through discord that you are taking a hunt. Post once more or notify the kage on discord when the hunt is complete. These special hunts are slightly different at times as those found in the career in that rather than single big game its more common but region exclusive game.
Taming: Career: Monster Hunter
Initiating a Hunt: To begin a hunt one first claims a hunt by notifying their kage. Secondly, they must go to the listed location of the hunt. Thirdly they use a random number generator roll for a number between 1-[Population] the maximum population need not be used. One could say roll a 1-27 even if the population is at [100] if they so desired. If at any time before a cycle finishes and the number of the population decreases to [1] or lower you have effectively caused the near-extinction of said species. You're 'hunting license' will then be revoked making you unable to go on further hunts.
Name: Gullypops
Rank: E
Last Seen: Residential District
Description:
Exp Per Kill: [+1]
Taming Difficulty: Close to Impossible as they're so stupid. You can get one to follow you but lord help you if you want to try and get it to do anything else.
Population: [2500]
Description: Gullypops are quite literally a combination of a dodo and a seagull. These birds are so stupid they end up becoming a major problem by getting themselves stuck in building equipment, mechanical devices, trashcans, and food stalls. They also taste horrible so they don't even have that benefit going for them like the dodo did that lead to its inevitable extinction. These idiotic avians simply fly about not unlike a pigeon in the sense they're incredibly filthy creatures. In the five years, they've only propagated immensely.
Name: Gilly Shark
Rank: B
Last Seen: Astoria
XP Per Kill: 50
Population: {300}
Description: Gilly Sharks are an invasive species, they are particularly dangerous in that the Gilly sharks have actually adopted a primitive form of suiton ninjutsu. Capable of water manipulation and its density in short burst. However, one benefit of gilly sharks is unlike other sharks their skin is actually somewhat gelatinous, making them good sea faring mounts. Despite this they aren't very intelligent.
Yield:
Mobius Sack | Rare
When applied to equipment the gelatinous nature of the sack dampens blows. Nullifying trauma of Tier-2 or lower in the targeted zone. One Mobious sack is enough to coat one article of equipment.
Gilly Cortex | Common
Allows one to use the water manipulation jutsu of E-D rank if the fin is making contact with a body of water without consuming an activation or chakra to do so. Because of the crudeness often isn't used much for combat but makes for easier aquatic movements. Typically attached to backs of torso pieces or the backs of grieves or footwear.
