Name: G'ral (Gesteral formerly)
Age: 45
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Searchrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Blacksmithing (Pre-Impression), Wingrider (Former Weyr - Ista), Rogue Rider (Formerly)
Physical Description: G'ral is tall and muscular with a strong square jaw and face, short, exceedingly well groomed salt and pupper hair, a short beard, and usually bright yellows or blues or leather. G'ral keeps himself well groomed and tidy and comes across at a glance as imposing or even frightening, however this is appearance only.
Personality: G'ral is an honorable man who's priorities are what's best for Pern. He's fair, understanding, morally upright, and fatherly, wiser for his years than he seems. While he carries himself with strength and pride, both what many would expect of a High Reaches rider, G'ral is very moderate. If he doesn't agree, he may argue his point, but accepts that he cannot change minds alone. He's often one with a twinkle in his eye, and takes to listening to others' problems and woes with a quiet shoulder and offers others as much dignity he can. He is soft spoken when needed, and tries to mediate frequently. He places Pern's well being high on his goals, alongside of his two children, and tries to do what is right, and wehat is honorable more often than not - sometimes to his detriment.

However he is haunted. He rarely discusses what drove him rogue, and can become quite the fighter when needed -- willing to fight if needed to protect those he cares for most. A fair man he may be, he is also rather firm and even strict if teaching, intent on seeing those he cares for succeed if it kills him. While open to new ideas, he can and will hold on to notions of chivalry and manners a bit easily, believing the path to virtue is paved in honor toi a fault -- a double edged sword. G'ral is also fguriously protective, especially of his children, and becomes aggravated every time their safety is threatened. Due toi his focus on honor, he can become consu, med by his own mistakes, often left to ruminate upon them time and time again, which can cause him to grow quiet weithout his ever-loyal Gerholth by him to help him come to the area again. It is the very same blue that prevents his rider from taking too many risks, or engaging in dangerous activity -- tempered firmly into a blade fit to aid Pern, rather than hinder.
Positive Trait List Fatherly, Honorable, Wise, Fair
Negative Trait List Haunted, Idealistic, Blinded by his Honor,, Ruminates
History:
G'Ral is not a spring chicken. As a youth he was Searched by an Ista rider and Impressed to Gerholth, seeming well on the path to becoming a strong, fair bluerider. His Impression came when he was about to age out, surprising many, however it was a we;copme change and G'ral, boirn Gesteral quickly proved himself an adept rider, on the path to a position as Searchrider, or Candidatemaster. However when he graduated he was graced by tragedy. During a training exercise, a Green pair chose to Rise-- and came into conflict over the males in the area distracted from training. The frenzy soread, and G'ral only saved his own dragon by mere fortune of the rest perishing as the greens slew one another. The sole survivor of the tragedy, G'ral took leave of his weyr shortly after, and took to roaming, doing odd jobs and entertaining for marks in a sense of quiet, until, as his bluer gave chase to a rising Gold, G'ral met a wonderful young lady and spent his time with her. He stayed by her when iut was clear she carried his child, and he was with her, Gerholth at his rider's side as the woman the pair loved passed giving birth to a beautiful daughter. G'ral and Gerholth remained until she no longer needed a wetnurse, and left to raise her himself, roaming and continuing their lonely life for nine years, until the two males found a young child abandoned outside of the Harper Hall, and spoke with her, and the Harpers, whom might have taken her had she any musical talent, and kept an eye out for her as a kindness, ensuring there were scraps to live on. G'ral took this child in alongside his own to raise, and finding reason to focus on his children, G'ral began to get better, more akin his old self. A kloving father he kept his children fed and clothed, delighting as they grew into 14 year olds, when Gerholth seemed to notice them more often than before. Watched more than before. Knowing the tells, G'ral found himself tqking his children to Western Weyr; for though Thread was hazardous, he fought hard to protect them when it returned, and, feeling they deserved a chance to be Searched, took them for proper Searching, delighting as they became candidates. Only then did he offer to become a Searchrider -- to serve the Weyr his children were in Candidacy at, and to try to be among other Riders in large groups once more.

G'ral never forgot his tragedy, or his mistakes, but never spoke of them to others other than his new Weyrleaders, preferring to not trouble others -- and wishing or nothing more than his children's health and well being.
Other: G'ral completely accepts when Gerholth wishes to 'share' bonds with people. So he didn't mind the platonic love Gerholth had for his lady love.

G'ral understands his dragon's desire for hatchlings and briefly considered stealing him two dragon eggs before his children were taken to Western -- G'ral would prefer his children found theirs willingly, not by force.

G'ral has a soft voice when he's spoeaking softly but a loud carrying voice when speaking loudly. He avoids being loud to avoid frightening others.

Gerholth and G'ral sometimes seem like brothers and sometimes like one person. As Gerholth was the only companion G'ral had for a while, the pair tend to mirror at times, but others they do not -- unlike Gerholth, G'ral isn't anxious with greens for example.

G'ral chose to become a Searchrider and not plain wingrider because of his younger child Seren. He actually wants to help those on Pern become Riders if they truly wish to help, and to offer his company for frightened possible Candidates whom might need the comfort of a big, strong Dad sort.

DRAGON
Name: Gerholth
Age: 20
Color: Blue and blue on de hide :3
Size: 30", roughly.
Physical Description: Gerholth is sleeth, muscular, and keen -- built to hunt and move in silence. Although muscular, he is capable of swift movement and can snap a talon or wing rapidly, often startling. He has long, keen eyes that assess everything, and moves quickly. Gerholth has stamina in spades, making him excellent in both Threadfall for fighting or covering ground when going between is a poor option.
Personality: Gerholth strikes most as a crochety male with little taste for the company of others. This assessment is wrong. He is a rather firm dragon, whom carries an air of authority even when having none, and carries with this a strong sense of integrity and pride. He knows what he is and what he was meant for and while he seems satisfied, he also defines himself by this. He is a styrong, reliable blue loyal most to his rider and rider's children, treating them as his own hatchlings, seeking to lavish them in praise and adulation in place of actually having hatchlings. His is a wise soul, one whom was born knowing more than many believe he might, and a blue whom does not care for the color of hide when affairs of duty and family come in. He is steady and often watches younger dragons in amusement. Still, Gerholth is imperfect.

Gerholt has become protective of G'ral and his younglings, and becomes uneasy if at least one pf his people is near enough to come to him. He's also very suspicious of most greens, finding them to be unsettling after the loss of his fellows over two rising, and prefers instead to chase golds, having high hopes of fathering his own young one day. Gerholth doesn't frighten easily -- he's actually quite brave -- but greens trying to cozy in, especially strangers, arte just too uncomfortable, and he will move. Any other need not work for his trust, but a green always must. As with his need for his loved ones and anxiety of greens, Gerholth is also rather the sort to lookafter his rider and young -- Gerholth has a fussy fatherly streak that results in much primping and preening of others and he will grow tempramental if loved ones are not as cleran and well kept as he is. If he looks his best, his family must. He's also very prone to following G'ral's mindset -- a bit more than a proud blue will admit, and if G'ral loves, there's a chance Gerholth is also going to adore someone. He is a hopeless dreamer himself, at times, hence his dreams of a family -- preferably one with a woman and dragon female that G'ral was also drawn to. However, with his rider often lost in runimation or hanted by guilt, Gerholth often simply sits, lending G'ral silent strength and love to see hium through, hoping for better times.

Stealing dragon eggs is a pretty heinous crime, and tbh... I'm really surprised that someone who considered himself in any way honorable contemplated stealing them. That is the sort of thing someone truly of ill repute would do, and no one else.

We also don't allow it in our shop. It might appear in Meta events, but nowhere else.

I understand that he ultimately decided not to do that, but. It seems to go against what you've written out for his personality.

I also noticed that you'd stated he took them to the Weyr for proper Searching, but that's not how Search works - Candidates are either found on a Search, aka the dragons going out into the world looking for Candidates, or they're weyrbrats who grew up in the Weyr and are allowed to Stand. His blue might think anything about then, but without an affiliation to the Weyr and an official title, it really doesn't matter.
