Exeter is a city located in the county of Devon, England, with a population of roughly 130,000. It was a famous center of religion during the medieval and Tudor periods with the building of the Exeter Cathedral in 1400. In the late 1800s Exeter was considered a center for the wool trade. Much of the city center had to be rebuilt after the Second World War, after German bombing destroyed many historical buildings and the downtown area. Exeter has mild, wet winters, and warm summers. The University of Exeter has two campuses located within the city.
