tab Welcome to the January 1st, 2019 Time Skip World Event! However, a Time Skip isn't the only part of this event worthy of note! Today marks the beginning of a new page for Shattered Past: Shinobi Strike as we recognize a long held belief within the community that the members, and not the moderators, are the ones who set the course for the world, and that each hardship they face makes the next generation easier as they set the foundations for their progression. How, you might ask?

tab This update and change highlights the release of member founded settlements fought and won in character becoming a starting location for new members. Much like Shinobi Villages and Cities in real life these places are safe havens for people to gather, to trade, to perform jobs, solve crimes, adventure from and make home. Each Hub, which will be highlighted below, is a starting point for those who desire a little more direction in their lives. Here no random encounters take place, though jobs and missions come and go for each member to complete. These missions are generated by our NPCs, who each have a profile, personality, and knowledge of their own, as well as other RPCs as a living, thriving community takes place for those who want more out of this guild than struggling to survive on their own in a hostile, and unknown, world.
tab Of course, these are optional, and need not be selected. Members from before may post in the Time Skipping Shenanigans thread to determine where your characters went and did, and you are free to choose! But to those who are new, who have no place to call their own yet, you have a choice! You can either have us randomly generate where you start, giving the best survival experience, or you can start in a thread of your choosing such as near a Hub! If you decide to do the latter, please include the following information, within the spoiler, at the beginning of your first post:
______ (Character Name) floated through darkness unending, numb to the passage of time, of life and breath and blood. Numb to the unending years in silence, unaware that centuries were slipping past as _____ (pronoun) slumbered away. Yet in that absence a sense of self was fleeting at best, but something began to pull it together. First a void, and suddenly something warm, moist upon skin. Whose skin? The question was difficult to answer, lost in the mess of reality that begins to intrude upon _____ (pronoun) existence. Yet once its felt it's a cascade of effects that end in _____ (pronoun) body moving, thrashing, fighting against the restraints as _____ (pronoun) sense of self begins to return. With that there's a burning sensation, followed by the cracking of glass and crystal as light sears _____ (pronoun) eyes and he finds the scent of ________ (Reference surroundings) filling _____ (pronoun) nostrils. A crack of wood follows, and the clanking of steel sound nearby as the wood gives way, and the world comes into sight before _____ (pronoun).
tab Now that that part is out of the way, let's talk about what other changes are expected!
- • All jutsu and techniques are unlocked up between E and C - rank, including Styles and Bloodlines // Clans. Some Styles can only be found in specific regions and hubs, and will require travel to learn them. Bloodlines above C - rank may require travel, too, to find scrolls above C - rank, to pay attention to future announcements.
• Bloodline Applications will be changing. Instead of needing you to prove anything you will simply need to indicate which bloodline you like, and we'll award them to the first ones who ask. There will be an increased limit of six [6] Bloodline // Clan slots per bloodline or clan, so pick carefully! Clans may be learned and joined in character. If you do this, you do not count towards these limits.
• We will be having a monthly "Patch" released, you guessed it, monthly! We will be keeping all communications open to the guild so you know what's coming. Look forward to a calendar that I will be giving all of your access to!
• Performer and Medium have seen drastic changes to their rules and structures. I'd take a gander to see what they all are!
• Later Today, or tomorrow, we will be putting up new threads detailing the new species and nations that exist within this world. We are not alone here, we have things to interact with! This will give opportunity for political games, for hierarchies to form, and for more roleplay for each individual member!
tab Now, for the part I'm sure you've all been waiting for, members who were here and had characters already made in the year 2018, you are all granted [3,000] Experience Points to each individual character! Seems like a lot, right? Well, these are optional. No one has to take them! But we wanted to give you all something...else. A Shop! Who doesn't love a little shop, right? Below you will find a list of things you can purchase with these Experience Points. You cannot cross experience between characters, as a rule! If there are any questions contact Lanfaer or Royal Taorito for further information!
- • One [1] Greater Personal Attribute → [500 Experience] ► Can be purchased up to two [2] times!
• Three [3] techniques between B and S - rank → [250 Experience] ► You pick the Element and/or Type of technique
• One [1] Character Redo → [1,000 Experience] ► May be held onto for an eternity!
• Discover or Encounter One [1] Spirit or Demon → [2,000 Experience]
• Learn ten [10] techniques or five [5] Stages → [100 Experience]
• Fifty [50] Chakra or Stamina → [500 Experience]
• Twenty Five [25] Chakra and Stamina → [500 Experience]
• Increase Crafting Tier by One [1] → [250 Experience] ► This does not supersede Artisan class requirement, and only counts towards one [1] type of crafting.
• Ten [10] Training Posts → [100 Experience]
• Five Hundred [500] Ryo → [250 Experience] ► May be used in character or on "Starting Chop" to be found during the skip.
• Custom Thread for Character → [2,000 Experience] ► This can be anything from a dungeon to a town to a personalized hidey-hole! Must make sense for the character's limitations!
• One [1] Treasure Map (Large Treasure) → [750 Experience]
• One [1] Treasure Map (MediumTreasure) → [500 Experience]
• One [1] Treasure Map (SmallTreasure) → [250 Experience]
• Five [5] Custom Techniques → [400 Experience]
• One [1] Custom Techniques → [100 Experience]
tab Once you have made your selection please post them below with each character and what they are selecting, including if they are instead simply taking all three thousand [3,000] Experience!
tab To those who feel that there isn't enough support for the Non-Shinobi and Civilian classes, you are correct! This isn't by design but a lapse in availability for our Moderators to work on it. February's update is set to include a whole slew of what we call Talents, which are non-jutsu techniques for those classes! So look forward to that.
