Antioch sat on a bench outside of the Tokyo tower reading over some blueprints that he wrote. Before he could make his grand entrance on the world stage he needed to have these parts installed. His advanced knowledge of special effects, illusions, stunts, chemistry, and engineering meant that he needed to find a way to amplify his ride with the skills at his disposal. These aspects were all he knew after years as a special effects artist and a magician. He stared in pensive frustration at the blueprints and had no idea how he was going to engineer these parts in time for his first exploit. His mind began to drift into the realm of his deepest desire; fame. It alluded him for years but not for much longer.
It was just another wonderful day spent riding around in the city, the pink rider happily rolling around at the speed of sound. The weather or fairly nice and he had just gotten a pretty nice forecast out. Sunshine and warmer days were always welcome in Maru's book. His journey today brought him to the tower, more specifically one of the spot where a person could reliably sit and have the best view of the town. He was busy eating one of his usual snacks, a gas station chili dog with a small diet soda. He had a close friend who worked there and ever since his disowning, had gotten free food every now and again. Sure it kinda put some pounds on, but a free chili dog was a free chili dog. He bite into one end while stretching out his feet and looking around at the residents of the area. Not much was going on, just like always. A sliver of chili ran down a dainty finger which was wiped up with a napkin and disposed of in the empty packaging. With one final sip from his soda, Komaru rushed back down from atop the tower on his air treks.
After touching base on the ground he tossed his junk away into the trash and was on his way. He revved his engines and slowly went by a bench with a loner guy on it. But that wasn't what caught Maru's eye. Those documents he had looked awfully interesting. He turned on his head and made a 180 to go back to the guy, sitting next to him on a bench.
If he were to look at Komaru, he would be incredibly androgynous, agressively even. The long pink hair, the cute face, the hint of a very floral perfume, even the curves were incredibly feminine. He offered the boy a wave, his right index finger pointed at the blue prints that he possessed.

As he was entranced in his fantasies of fame and fortune, a pretty girl with pink hair sat next to him. He looked down at her air trecks and quickly discerned that she must be a rider. Totally oblivious of her actual gender, the masked man looked at her and smiled brightly. He had a smile that was deceptively charming and friendly. A red gloved hand waved at her before he spoke. "My name's Antioch. What's your's?" He lowered his hand and looked at her from above his blueprints that she seemed interested in. "What do you make of these part designs?" He tilted the papers so that she could get a better look at them. Antioch knew that this girl was a rider too so she was likely to understand what he was working on. "This one's a wheel device that will create hallucinogenic smoke and the other is an advanced three-dimensional imaging projector." Such components were vital to the creation of his illusions. His unique approach to riding was going to make him famous, that he was certain of. It seemed unlikely, but perhaps this girl was also a tuner. That would make her highly useful to him as of this moment. He was also wary that she might try to steal his ideas! In that case, he would have to hurt her, but hopefully, it would not come to that.
Maru's entrance appeared to have gone by fairly smooth. Not only were no attacks launched at him but the boy actually gave him a greeting! It felt somewhat refreshing to be treated with manners for once. Heaven knows he could have used some after what had happened to his parents. He returned the smile and wave given to him as a question was launched at him.
"My name's Antioch. What's your's?"
Now came the hard part. Due to his preference on not talking, Komaru was pretty challenged when it came to conversations. Not that anybody would want to her his voice anyway. So he would move his hands to his mouth and mouth the syllables to his names out. His hands would follow along and help by exaggerating and moving around to help reinforce that. "Mar-rue" was the name mouthed with a sincere smile. Antioch then showed him exactly what he was working on himself or wanting to. Komaru's eyes would widen in excitement. These were some good ideas in here.
"What do you make of these part designs?...This one's a wheel device that will create hallucinogenic smoke and the other is an advanced three-dimensional imaging projector."
Maru looked at the raven haired youth and beamed widely. He had a faint idea of what road this rider was and boy if this wasn't enticing to help him on it. Dainty hands dipped into the yellow turtleneck he had on and retrieved his phone. After some quick fingerwork to crank out a quick text, Komaru spun the phone around to reveal the contents of the message to Antioch.
"These are pretty good! I can make 'em for you if you want! ₍₍ ◝(●˙꒳˙●)◜ ₎₎"

Antioch was confused when she started mouthing her name. He did not really get what she was trying to do or why she was not talking. Eventually, she used the classic socially awkward crutch of just typing into her phone. "This is so millennial." Antioch was amused by this and nearly made a smart remark until he looked at her phone and was surprised by her offer. "You're a tuner? I'm lucky to have run into you then." His voice was kind because this girl was of considerable use to him at this moment. "If you create and install these parts for me then I need you to keep them a secret." Discretion was key in this transaction for reasons that he was preparing to explain. "I'm an illusionist rider who rides the smoke and mirrors road which is a fusion of flame and wing, but it's easier to think of me as a magician. A magician never reveals his secrets because it ruins the performance and I need to dazzle the audience if I'm going to get famous. Make sense?" Granted, this girl could not talk so who was she going to tell? Still, it was possible that she could leak his tricks out on Twitter or some other sort of social media as a d**k move to him. Preferably, this girl would be able to work with him on a lot of parts ideas he has for the future so that he could limit the knowledge of his smoke and mirrors technology to one person. It was foolish to put this kind of trust into one person, Antioch knew that better than most, but he was out of options at the moment.
Antioch's explanation was pretty weird but fitting based on his desires. Most people wanted their tuning parts kept on the DL, so it was only natural that he asked for it as well. The road he had planned for himself had piqued Maru's curiosity. It was fitting for a self proclaimed magician such as Antioch. Did magicians need certifications or something? Did you need to go to a school or was it like artists where you can just say you're one if you draw good? Regardless Komaru would smiled and lean in as he spoke out of interest. When asked again for keeping his tricks and such secret, the pink haired rider gave a nod to agree. Not that he usually want posting people's stuff all over the web. At least if they never paid him. He swiped his fingers along the phone and showed the boy his message:
"Keep it secret, got it! Wanna do it here or someplace else?"

Antioch looked at her phone and answered her question with urgency. "Whatever works for you!" He stored the 3D imaging part in this bag and retrieved a blueprint for more advanced air trecks. This pair of trecks would only be able to have one part installed and Antioch preferred that his crimson curtain device be tuned first. He handed both of the sheets of schematics to the girl. "Please create these air trecks first and then install the crimson curtain part." Antioch smiled charmingly to ensure that she would follow through on her promise to help him create battle ready air trecks. These inventions were what would ultimately lead to his fame so it was essential that he makes sure that this tuner girl liked him.
Komaru smiled at Antioch. Of course he would answer with a solid nod and text out a response:
"I can do it, but need my stuff from home. Brb."
With a graceful turn, Komaru rocketed off towards the east. He sped away, picked up his treks from where he kept them, underneath the blue tarp by the dumpster, and then sped back to the waiting Antioch.
Construction was a fairly tame process. Maru's work was a bit long as the spanner would twist this part, and that to another. He closely followed the blueprints while his fingers danced along the snapping of metal and rushed of oil. It took about an hour in total for the creation of the part and treks and 10 minutes for an installation. During this time, Komaru would look up at his customer every now and again and smile, wiping some grease from his hands.
After what felt like an eternity, he finished and presented the treks to Antioch. They were fancy, mimicking the style of a gentleman's dapper shoes, matching the boy's black and mysterious colors that Komaru thought was very interesting.
"All done! Try it out for me and I think you've got a nice set of ATs~"

Antioch waited and watched pensively as she constructed his air trecks and installed the part. They were both of his own design and he was proud that his schematics were detailed enough for her to accomplish the construction so seamlessly. When she was finally finished he hopped up from the bench and gleefully replaced his standard trecks with combat-ready C-Rank air treks. He tied the fine laces on his dappers before rolling around slowly. Eventually, he picked up speed and generated friction. He did this in circles around Komaru creating a mass of red smoke effects in an impressive display. When he ceased his run he flashed a charming smile at Komaru. "Thank you! These are perfect!" He rolled towards her and gave her a grateful hug. He released her after a few seconds and then rolled backward before stopping. Antioch was incredibly excited for his first performance and hoped there would be cameras to capture his "valiant heroism." He retrieved his wallet and glanced down at his collection of ryo. "How much do I owe you?" He asked earnestly, wanting to give his new friend compensation for her trouble.
When he had finished with the construction, Maru watched as Antioch would skate around to his heart's content on the set of ATs. It was almost adorable to the tuner boy. Like watching a kid open his presents on Christmas Eve and race around as the excitement fueled what he believes was the best day ever. It had been so long since Konaru himself had felt that way. In a way, he misses his mother and father because of it. They were better off without their disgrace of a son. The mental train had dampened his mood as Komaru would look away as the Eat End. The same apartment, 51st floor, 3rd door off of the elevator.
What took him out of his trance was Antioch hugging him. He froze as his face would turn a dark red color. This warm feeling between the both of them. It felt...nice. Maru would hesitate but hug Antioch back just as tight. It was nice to know he was appreciated. Komaru would have to keep an eye on him now. He didn't want this feeling to ever end but they each pulled away. With a color of red on his cheeks he considered the payment option. Sure he could just overcharge like mostly other tubers but Antioch probably couldn't afford it. He typed his response down and showed it to him:
"Maybe just enough for dinner and we're even. I don't charge much for my parts. Experience and all. If you want, I can help you work on some more parts and ideas to help. Anything for a magician~"

Antioch smiled and offered her ryo that would afford her a decent dinner like a burger with fries or a salad. He really hit the jackpot with this person as she asked very little for creating his ATs and the part plus installation. She also made a good quality product that would suit his purposes for his illusions. He was starting to become accustomed to speaking and then looking at her phone for a typed response. "Well, I had this other part design for a 3D projector. It'd create very realistic and detailed three-dimensional images. We used those in the movie business quite a lot and I think I could apply them to ATs to help with my illusions." He handed her the schematics and smiled brightly. Antioch felt very clever for his ideas to create advanced special effects during his ride. "I don't think I can install that part with the crimson curtain already in here, but could you make it for installation later?" He asked and offered that suggestion, but was unsure if she would accept that as well. The illusionist would appreciate having the lenses ready ahead of time for when his riding skills developed enough to the point where he could ride using a higher ranked pair of ATs.
Komaru gleefully accepted payment while mentally cheering for himself. This actually meant that he could eat tonight for once. The money was pocketed away just as Antioch spoke up about another part that he needed commissioned. Was that the right term? Komaru was a tuner, not an artist! From the description given, it sounded like he wanted at least something like a projector but for himself. It sounded like quite the challenge and if there was one thing this boy loved, it was the Wednesday 2-for-1 special at the sushi place near his house, followed by a challenge.
"Leave it to me~"
Maru dipped back into his cardboard box of wonders again and would start taking out old parts here and there. Lucky he found that old projector and managed to cut away enough glass from it to make the mirrors of the part function. The part was a little on the heavy and large side but it wouldn't be extremely noticeable on the rest of the trek. Of course these bad boys would need a cool name. You couldn't just make something like this and not have a name for them. Komaru began to think and think while his hands worked away on the projector in front of him. Maybe Antioch might find the process interesting and watch as his blueprints were follows and soon brought to life. When he was finished, Maru handed the part over to his customer and replied with his phone.
"All done. Let's call them...Phantom Mirage. Just be careful with the glass part. It might break."

---Road Tricks
-----→Impact Wind l Rank: C -------► By this point, the Wing Rider has control of the wind to the extent of affecting it directly at will. Through a very simple, but abrupt, body motion the user can influence the wind to the point of a very brief push. This sudden wind blast from very close quarters has a full body range, covering the user's circumference. The technique allows the user to disrupt close ranged wind efforts and halting incoming projectiles. This works by expelling the wind that is about them outwards, affecting its direction flow and amassing it briefly before the push following a strong and sudden 'flex' of the entire body. This is a C Class trick.
-----→ Flame! l Rank:E -------► Being the first hint at the Flame Road's run style, the initial technique is none other than the illusionary achievement of creating false flames. Beginner riders of the Flame Road first learn to transfer the heat energy accumulated in their run to that of updrafts, creating waves of heat to give the impression of literal fire being produced wherever the user laid foot. This not only fools other riders and gives off the impression of literal fire, but increases the effects of most Flame based tricks by acting as a catalyst for which heat based tricks to hold better effects. Eventually, Flame Road riders get to a point there they may produce these drafts and ride upon them, giving an impression of flight or riding on flames they blazed on their own. This is an E Class trick.
-----→ Afterburner l Rank C -------► After a certain point, the Flame Rider's reaches a point of more advanced control. Such is shown in the usage of the Afterburner trick. The user will disappear spontaneously, expelling heat in brief bursts. These bursts give the visual impression of fireballs being left in the user's wake, trailing behind them as small masses of illusionary flames. The difficulty of this trick lies in the required speed output and technicality. The trick name takes after that of a principle used in supersonic fighter jets. The user mimics the effects of forcing short, abrupt, speed bursts to produce shock waves and displace heat masses. This trick can only be used every other post. This is a C Class trick.
---Trick Passes -----→ Super Stride IV Sonic Boom l Rank: F | Stamina: 1 -------► This basic ground technique is used for evasion in a run as well as a manner of striking enemies on either side of the user with ease. The trick is usually practiced by criss crossing bottles or cans, performing rudiment 'Karaoke' styled feet transitions with the skates at top speed. The result is the ability to zig zag in short bursts to the left and right, able to veer with at least a seven foot distance between each strides beginning and end point. This allows the user to evade incoming projectiles of small size or maneuver to melee attack enemies in rapid succession. Ducking, spinning, and crouching are common variations of movements for this trick. This is a valuable asset to the rider's vocabulary, no doubt.
-----→Spinning Wallride Overbank 1800 l Rank: F | Stamina: 1 -------► Using this technique, Storm Riders rapidly propel themselves up a wall using a series of push-offs and spins to keep up momentum. This gives riders the ability to overcome walls thought impossible with a straightforward jump, and may even save them from falling.
-----→ In Step: Reverse Turn Stance l Rank: F | Stamina: 1 -------► The "In step" is a simple move of simply pointing the toes inwards meeting a 90"-45" degree angle placing their heels at an angle too. This positioning of the feet allows one to consistently keep themselves moving in an forward motion while the other skate causes them to veer to the left or right and perform something for a short or wide turn. This motion is a basic thing that most anyone can do but when reversing the forward motion into a backwards one reveals the full use of the In Step: Reverse Stance. The Stance causes a tight spinning turn about motion that can allow the rider to turn around abruptly to change direction fluidly out of their forward run. By slowing their motion and Turning all at once and one AT pulls back while the other pushes forward into the reversed motion. This way the rider can aim their back or front in any direction in short notice and perform attacks in this turn about fashion that may benefit from the recoiling whiplash of pulling back their forward momentum abruptly to swing their bodies about or continue to spin in place. This motion is more strong than fast and requires the rider to bend their knees slightly or rather low to adjust according to how much recoil their speed incurred. As time passes this turn about motion can fluidly work in to just about any run style the user may conceive as they progress growing more fluid as they grow in ability.
---Custom Tricks
-----→ Woopsie! [ aka Windshearing ] Rank: C | Stamina: 3 | Wear: 5% | Road: Wing -------► A simple movement trick to give a near instant change in direction to the user, whether on the ground or in the air. Through simple interfacing with the air the user will throw out their arms out and send a medium sized burst of wind. The burst of wind, when combined with a small quarter spin will allowing for the rider to make very sharp turns with little to no turning time. Using this trick too much however will cause extreme stress on the leg and abdominal muscles resulting in the inability to move your lower body. -----→ Reincarnation Rank: C | Stamina: 3 | Wear: 5% | Road: Flame / Apollon -------► An inertia driven attack that combines the speed of the Air Treks with the high energy momentum developed from a high speed run to drive devastating kick through the opponent, sending them flying off in the opposite direction. The method in which is performed is very similar to the trick, "Giant Swing of Time," and similar to its predecessor works twice as effectively when used in conjunction with "Oh! Time!"

Celia smiled as she felt the wind roar in her ears and fen her skirts behind her while she rode up the tower, hopping between rails rolling around struts and trusses, all the while she wore a gleeful expression. At the peak of the structure Celia gripped the antenna as she looked out at the city below her and inhaled deeply. Up here, where the wind muffled the sounds of traffic and the buzz of human conversation, everything felt at peace. The blonde let out a contented sigh before releasing the antennae and letting herself drop into a free fall. Most people, even most riders, would feel their stomach tighten in terror at the sensation of a free fall, but Celia was far from a normal rider. She loved that brief moment where there was not the pull of gravity but a brief feeling or weightlessness before the wind began to roar in her ears once more. The blonde's arms and legs fanned out as she fell, smiling all the while before arching her back and kicking her legs up toward her head, sending herself into a rapid backflip and landing on the widening surface of the tower below with a twist and pivot of her AT. She rode down the tower, whooping and laughing with joy as she left a trail of flames behind her, the light behind and above her catching the shining gold of her hair and the shimmering red of her skirts, making her appear like a living ball of fire as she danced down the tower, her eagle close behind and riding on the rising pillars of flames her road left behind.
Antioch bowed as she accepted the parts with both hands. He activated them and watched as a projected image of himself and Maru appeared high fiving in front of them. The images were realistic and three dimensional and it was hard to tell where the light was coming from. Antioch looked at her text message and then nodded in agreement. "Perfect name! You're a natural. Maybe you'll become a magician too." He then carefully stored the holographic projector parts in his bag. Suddenly he saw a well-dressed woman gliding down the tower with flames trailing behind her. Antioch would not stand for being upstaged, especially if her tricks dazzle people enough for the media to arrive. Her techniques were characteristic of the flame road which Antioch was riding as well as a component of the smoke and mirrors road. "Behold my skills!" Antioch announced to Maru with a wink before jumping and catching an air current. This gave the appearance of him taking flight. He applied friction to the air simultaneously to create a sizeable cloud of red smoke. Antioch glided on the cloud of red smoke up the Tokyo tower with the quickness. When he saw the girl in the air he waved and continued his ride. The hallucinogens in his smoke created further illusions to make the ride appear more impressive and entertaining. Crowds of people were beginning to gather around Maru and watch the show unfold.
Tricks: Wings: Wings is a phenomenon of the Wing Road that hints at the user's wind control abilities. This trick involves the user expanding upon their own run by taking advantage of the wind around them then applying their own for aerial boosting effects. The resulting effect usually gives the impression that the user is flying or gliding through the air when, in reality, they simply caught a tailwind and became a part of it, so to speak. As the user progresses in skill, they eventually learn to perform this technique at will, making it appear as though their run is a smooth flight. This trick can only be used every other post. This is an E Class trick.
