As the Sun sets on Zaishin City, many of the hardworking residents of Zaishin City return home to the residential quarter. During the mountainous capital city's long winters, it is unlikely to see children playing outside. It is common for most homes to have advanced heating systems to combat the Land of Iron's bitter cold.
Keiji had returned to the meager apartment he had been renting to continue work on his scrolls. There had been some orders from the Academy for basic jutsu scrolls, and so he got to work on it. He was pretty open with his crafting talents for the city of Zaishin, not because he cared about the whims of nobility, but because his talents would benefit the poor and those in the lower caste of society, just as he was. The revolutionary had dreams of turning this society on it's head, and making the world a place were anyone could reach the top of the ladder. Even now, his resourcefulness and quick learning was paying off in dividends while he completed the first batch of jutsu scrolls.
Keiji's ink and brush skills had come almost naturally, mostly due to his learning and dabbling in Fuuinjutsu, which used scrolls and seals as a common element of its execution. It was during his academy days that he spent his time in clear devotion to his penmanship and making crisp sigils that gained his instructors approval. While he was far from being a master, like some of the more bookish scholars, Kei was certainly a talent that came in handy when one could not be found. It was with the last jutsu scroll in the first batch he proved this point, and then prepared to work on the next.

Turning from his work on the specific things required of the Village, Keiji began to work on expanding his own arsenal of skills. Some ninja were talented in producing scrolls which could enhance one's ability to learn more skills. Expansion scrolls, as they were called, could allow one to push their limits beyond the normal and give a ninja (or in this case, a samurai) the benefits of more jutsu in their available selection of lethal arts to use on an enemy. "I usually try not to be so self-serving, but if Zaishin is going to have the hero it needs, then it is going to fall on me to continue evolving in strength.", he swore to himself as he pulled forth the special ink that he had paid for in preparation for this project.
As Keiji took the ink and began working on the seals and symbols for the jutsu expansion scroll, he could not help but wonder just how it might feel to be able to learn even more than he already had. He had broken all of the barriers and shattered all of the walls that most Samurai usually suffered from out of specialization. He could heal the injuries of his allies, sense even the most stealthy of foes, and even complete seals that would lock down the techniques of his enemies. With the final strokes on the scroll, Keiji then let out a sigh of relief before he completed it, and laid back to relax.

As Keiji lay on his meager mat in the apartment, that was a little chilly due to the heater not working so well, he could not help but resent his home. He wanted to live it up in the luxury of the whore house he fought in the pits underneath. To feel the touch of the women after a long, hard, fight. He had enjoyed a taste of what it felt like to be a hero, but as he closed his eyes and considered his current situation. It was the fact that it was his wealth and skill that had brought him only a temporary taste of what he desired.
"I'm far from being a hero.", he sighed out into the lonely darkness. It was all to this point that he had spent his time laboring to get stronger, but there were no friends here to back him up. There wasn't even a lover to keep him warm with their affections. This was not the fanfare and praise that he craved, no, just silence in the aftermath of his own self-sharpening. At least he had a roof over his head, unlike some in the slums who were probably suffering. But, Keiji could not help but want more.
The fog of his breath as he drifted off into slumber was his only companion this night. The feelings of loneliness and resentment were his only friends. Still, even in this depressive suffering, at least he still had his honor. He was a samurai, and acted based on virtue. Was he not the ideal role model for somebody in the poverty of a commoner's lifestyle? Doubt had begun to creep into his dreams like a cancer.
His hands gripped the blanket that covered him, and he grit his teeth as the feelings of anguish ripped into him like a curse. He wanted to cry, scream out in anger, and let loose on society. The Curse of the Blood Orchid was taking hold of his body, unbeknownst to Keiji. These feelings of hatred were not originally his, but inherited from the very sins of the Kaguya and that man's ancestors. The ritual by which they had made a bargain to Jashin, the evil god of war, lust, destruction, and a slew of other things was beginning to take hold over him through the cursed seal on his body.
As the feelings of resentment and rage burned inside of him, Keiji could feel his skin burning as well as he began to sweat from the power of his subconscious activation of the curse mark. He sat up in the dead of the night, to see the steam rising off his body and the spiral markings spreading from his implanted arm and down his chest. As he stared at the spreading seal, it then deactivated as soon as it had began. Keiji knew enough about fuuinjutsu to tell what he had just witnessed, but at this point, he had never anticipated the Curse activating on it's own. "I need to get some air...", he said in pure disbelief, and with that said...he did just that, getting dressed and taking off into the night air to clear his head.

Kura's head stuck out of an alleyway to look both ways. Had she lost her pursuers? Those assholes the. The Distant Sun had chased her really far! Seriously, what was their problem? Those noble kids were picking on someone else, so of course she was going to knock them around a bit. She may not be the nicest person, but it's not like that was something she could just ignore.
The shouts of pursuit echoed across the otherwise quiet street as snow crunched under the boots of her pursuers. Aw man, seriously? Did these guys have nothing better to do? "There, get the yokai!" Someone called out. Kura only laughed, a middle finger rising gloriously as she turned a corner to show the guard how much respect she held for his position. By the time the guards rounded that corner in pursuit they would find no trace of the woman, the only sign that there was anyone ever there a large cardboard box.
The guards would then cry out in anger and disgust as a large bag of trash fell upon their heads, the bag ripping open and sending debris scattering everywhere. Kura cackled from her spot atop the building, before making a hasty retreat before they could find the source of the garbage. Several blocks away the girl jumped down from her spot on the roof when she realized she had successfully evaded her pursuers. That had actually been a bit of fun, but now she could do what she actually set out to when coming here.
Over the next hour or two, Kura dashed from one home to the other, knowing exactly the ones she wanted to find. There were several nice families here who had helped look after her ever since her parents were taken and she wanted to return the favor. Sometimes that took the form of helping out with heavy lifting around the house (while she wasn't a strong physical fighter, she was still stronger than the average civilian), and sometimes it took the form of giving nice old widows and widowers the bit of company that they needed. In any case, the one thing that remained in common with all of them was they felt dissatisfaction with the way their city was run just like her. Kura... enjoyed coming here to this side of town sometimes. It was a reminder that she wasn't alone in her desire for change. She still didn't know what she could do to change things, but she liked to think that the day she could do as much wasn't too far off, and becoming an Okappiki would be the first step of a very long journey.
Kura couldn't remain for long though. She still had to go home, which for her was outside the village. She wondered how the old man in Kuroshiki was doing? He had promised that upon her return he would have some good news for her, but she had been in too much of a rush to really pay attention. There was only one way to find out though...

Within the shadows of the Residence district that stands together with the Hidden Steel, is a young women. The women is named Samatha Uchiha, a Okkapiki of the Uchiha Clan, a commoner. The way she is dressed, with the black jacket, black eye patch on her left eye, red ribbon in her ponytail that hangs over her right shoulder, red like combat dress with black gloves; she could be considered nothing special. In reality, ever since the loss of her best friend Lyx but in turn, gaining a transplanted Byakugan over her left eye, she had been working hard to study her mother's materials over the Gentle Fist fighting style. Its a unique style belonging to the Hyuga and she remembers training through all those hours to reach where she is with it right now.
She slowly reaches up to the eye patch putting her left hand over the eye patch thinking" Don't worry Lyx, you are preserved within me, you are alive together with me." With that thought, she has a small smile about it, knowing her friend even though he is gone, he lives on within her memories of him. She would use the basic technique, drawing chakra around her feet climbing up the walls, up to what appears to be a abandoned apartment room. She would use her chop sticks, underneath the crack of the window, and surprisingly it wasn't locked as she would lift up the window. Whoever it was that lived here is no longer occupying the space she herself is about to enter.
She would creep through the window, turns back around to close the window, and locks it as if she is the owner of the room. At this time, as a commoner, she has been sticking to the shadows like some kind of rebel against the nation, keeping herself out of sight from the nobles. As a Okkapiki, she is part of the military of the nation, however no missions have been issued to her yet, though how come. Is it because she is just a commoner like her best friend or the higher management is too busy to hand out orders? Soon or later, something has to come up for her to carry out, which is why she will check in the office later on. Currently she is securing this apartment room for herself as her base of operations and then a few days in advance, she will ploy like she abandon this location and sight see for missions, then return to see if someone is tracking her.

After sleeping for awhile, she decides to go on a special time of incursion to another place. A place she has heard about called the Sage Lands, a place where people go to train with many creatures and get passed down amazing power. As she slowly gets up on the right side of the bed, legs swing over, with all five toes on both foots landing on the ground. She gets dressed into her normal garments, the very ones Samatha of the Uchiha has worn since she became a Okkapiki after Lyx's death.
She has to get stronger no matter what, that is why she felt such determination as she would leave through the window, locks it behind her and then quickly moves towards the gate.

From the residential districts, off in the distance towards the castle it was clear. The flames that ignited the Iron Castle gave them their moment. It was now or never. A young looking boy, dressed in red with an eyepatch and two swords at his hip stepped out onto the roof of the residential district. Below him the crowds of the working class, non-nobles, just about anyone who had been sick of the way that Zaishin was run was here. All dressed in red, all with blades, bows, and various other weapons. "THIS IS OUR MOMENT! THE RED REBELLION WILL USE THIS CHANCE TO RISE!" The young looking boy's voice boomed out into the crowd. Igniting cheering, battle cries through the crowd. "We will use this opportunity to strike down the noble class! The nobles who looked down upon us all these years! Our shogun who promised us fairness disappeared and this is the price of that action! We will take Zaishin FOR OURSELVES! IN THE NAME OF KEIJI NAKAMURA OUR FOUNDER!" More cheering, more battle cries as they began their march out of the residential district. Those of the Samurai Class, the ones who had fought for the Nobles for so long would meet the large crowd. Samurai who had been set to keep the civilians in check. Battle ensuing causing the deaths of many already. The chaos was only just beginning, and the Red Rebellion knew it wouldn't end until one side was thoroughly defeated.
Seika had been following her uncle for a short distance. After Musica's words at the gate to Zaishin, the samurai had still refused to make eye contact with her, enough so that the only solace Seika could have was listening to Musica's footsteps carry her away from the two Zaishin natives in front of her. A pit grew inn her heart, one that was conflicted. She didn't wish to go against her uncle's wishes, but she wouldn't have it in her to fight against her own people. Her uncle led the way, the veteran samurai taking charge as Seika would quietly continue behind him. Without Musica to defend her, she would weather the storm of his critique of her person. Every remark dug into her, every mention of that...name was a knife to her throat. Yet the younger Seiryu could only reply in kind, not daring to speak against him. The most common replies out of her mouth were a combination of "Yes, uncle.", "Sorry, uncle", and sometimes a rather pitiful, "I won't let it happen again." She hurried along with him, watching him slice through people whose causes were just, put to death for the crime of wanting a better life outside of what had been provided for them by the noble clans. Seika did as she was told, fighting against some of the stragglers of the rebel forces although it was very clear her heart was not fully in it. Her sword strikes were ones to disable, not to kill.

The battle within Zaishin raged on as Seiitaigen and Seika arrived to where the main force of the rebels were currently. Of course all through Zaishin there was fighting, even here there were still some nobles who were fighting against the rebellion. Although the rebellion outnumbered them a bit around this part of Zaishin. Perhaps because the Noble Forces were held up somewhere else within Zaishin? The reasons were beyond them, but Seiitaigen just scoffed at Seika's last comment. "Be quick about it boy, we don't have all day." The man said before he would brandish his blade and disappear into the crowd of war leaving Seika to rush into combat as well. Having not noticed Seika's intent behind her strikes at the moment. It wouldn't be long through Seika's fighting before she would end up face to face with a young man. Probably around her own age in fact, the rebels were all wearing red, but this guy's outfit was a bit different. It was entirely red a darker red than all the others. He had a bit of a stoic look to his face. It was almost like he wasn't even participating in the fight though. His weaponry still sheathed and he seemed to be able to uncannily avoid getting hurt despite being in the middle of a war. He looked directly at Seika for a moment before oddly enough approaching her fairly slowly. He bobbed and weaved around the blades flying through the air, bodies of people colliding with the others through combat. Eventually he came face to face with the girl. Nobles were sparse here, and it seemed as if now that this man was standing here the rebels had sort of moved around him. "You're a noble? You're different." The man said to the girl. "Are you simply fighting...because you're a noble?" He asked her.
Seika couldn't help but recall the orders she had been given back not so long ago in Arashigakure, where she had assisted the shinobi in quelling the revolt of the population of the village. Their similarities made the orders that she was given by her uncle all the more disgusting to swallow and obey. She could still vaguely recall the drill piercing through her body, the sensation of leaping through the air and saving the old man whose eyes were filled with malice for the ninja they were supposed to protect. The Seiryu couldn't remove them from her mind no matter how hard she tried at times. It was a terrible thing to recall, a reminder of the duty every samurai and shinobi took. An oath that was not to be disobeyed or ignored. She hurried along while dispatching the rebels nearby. Her sword clashed alongside others, though her strikes lacked the intent to kill or wound. A flurry of kicks were sent to knock the other rebels out. Seika would take another breath, winded after the latest batch of people to defeat as she'd kick their weapons away. The group was surrounding her, though wasn't attacking. The noble was poised and ready for an an when a single figure closed in, a man would appear before her.
He was tall, imposing, serious. The kind of person who didn't play games or have much time to think about it. Seika stood across from him while trying to catch her breath. "Why have you stopped? Do you not with to kill all of us?" she asked while he would ask a question in return to her. The Seiryu pursed her lips and would reflect for a moment. "I fight to protect my home from anybody who would do harm to our people. That is the oath I swore long ago. Even if we stand agaibst one another, I would dare not to kill you like my family." she began, "I do not wish to continue this senseless fighting. Our home burns, our castle destroyed, and we fight for scraps like the dogs that our enemies believe us to be. I ubderstand that it is Our fault for many of your grievances. I shall not ask you forgive what I have done, nor my family. I would not if i were in your shoes. But understand why I fight here. There are people whose very livlihoods are now reduced to cinders caught in the crossfire. They are why I continue to fight here. Not any belief that I am better than you based on factors outside our control."

The man clad in red looked at Seika as she looked at him in a rather confused manner. Asking why he stopped attacking. Trying to confirm his own intentions. Going on to answer his question to her before he could answer hers. The fighting still occurring around them the man would rub the back of his head and sigh. "Honestly, I do not care for this war myself. I'm just a figure head. Someone strong enough to back up the wishes of the Red Rebellion. Many of them do not wish to see the nobles dead but simply want the nobles to see them as anything other than useless garbage. A hostile takeover...but not intended to be a lethal one. Of course, we're smart enough to know that's not how it goes. Many nobles are ruthless, do not hesitate to use lethal force, so we also can not hesitate to do the same. We merely respond to lethal force with lethal force as it is the only way to survive." He explained a bit of his own reasons and purpose in this place. Then glancing up towards the destroyed tower in the middle of Zaishin that stood with a thundercloud over it. "Let me ask, if you are truly fighting for the livelihood of those caught in the crossfire....why are you fighting here in the first place. You say you do not truly wish to slaughter us....yet have you taken a proper look around? Have you seen while you might not be slaughtering them yourself you are helping to have them slaughtered?" If Seika would take the moment to glance around, she would see nobles from her side of the fight, as they approach the unconscious bodies of the rebels incapacitated by Seika. Killing them before moving on to their own fights. "Did you think that you would save them by knocking them out on the battlefield? You are strong, Much stronger than most you might fight against and who fight alongside you here. Much like myself, you are an imbalance to the war. Why do you not fight the true enemy and allow the weak to fight amongst themselves? Have you thought about that? Or did your loyalty blind you to it?" The man asked Seika. "If you've opened your eyes, if you now see what is truly happening around you...then I will tell you this. If you still wish to continue this fight here. Still wish to help the nobles slaughter the people you wish to protect. Then I will stop you, for your own sake. However, if you choose to take on the true enemy, I will see to it you leave this place unharmed, and I swear to you I will minimize the number of casualties as much as possible."
Seika was a bit surprised to hear that this man shared the same distaste for this struggle as she did, but appreciated the moment of rest. The struggle between nobles and rebels continued as she paused her blade a moment to hear out this strange man. His words did make her think though. So they wished to attack without killing, but the nobles then answered such things with killing intent and thus the vicious cycle began. Their sight went to the castle, where a thunderstorm was currently at. No doubt from whoever was in there, Raiu or some other freak of nature. But what worried Seika was that Musica was going in there. A tightness in her chest would cause her to frown out of worry. She knew that Musica was strong enough to defend herself and hold the line, but that little bit of her heart still hoped that she would be in good health when they reunited. Turning to more pressing issues, Seika's eyes widened at the sight of the nobles going to the unconscious rebels and slaughtering them with awe. "Stop!" she snapped at them in some futile manner to get them to cease. "They were unarmed opponents! Where is your sense of honor?" On some account, it was more than likely kind of foolish attempt at remaining neutral here. Seika was a noble and shared her audience with their kind, which meant any attempt would have resulted in the same result. Yet another thing to meditate on, thrown into the back of her mind as she exhaled in remorse. "I admit, I have not been here since being sent away by the Shogun, and this is my first time coming home to see it this way, but I do not wish to continue this war. The user gains the ability to use Somersault to evade once every three post without it consuming an activation, but only against opponents whose body rank is at or lower than the userβs.
β±β°β± Perfecting Balance | Rank C | Training Due to their various training requiring parkour style actions, the user is more stable. This training allows the user to withstand off balancing effects or knock back effects as though they were one rank lower in strength.
β±β°β± Total Concentration: Water Breathing [ SΕ NΕdo: Mizu KokyΕ« ] | Rank E | Training The Seiryu clan's ability to master water is only one side of their coin, in addition, each clansman has learned to control their breathing perfectly with this training. This controlled breathing allows the user to fortify their mental capacity and delay the effects of physical pain for a a single post. This does not have any effect on status or poisons.
β±β°β± Expert β The user has achieved a sense of mastery and focus unlike others and are known as an Expert, a dedicated focus over a weapon they use to near perfection. The shinobi can pick a single weapon, the katana. They acquire a Keystone technique that is unique to them with an additional 2 Custom Techniques derived of this special ability. Refer to the Keystone Guideline for more information. They gain a [+1] boost to both speed and agility & techniques cost [5] less Chakra and/or Stamina per rank of the technique when wielding attacks with their specialized weapon in attack or defense. With a minimum of 5 chakra or stamina paid.

While Seika shouted at the nobles...as expected of them they ignored her. "It is fine, ma'am. This is simply the price of war. We brought this on ourselves and we knew what may happen." A simple comment to perhaps make Seika feel better about what the nobles were doing. It seemed that there was more to what she determined though. She did wish to take on the true enemy.
