The clinic is small and unassuming and its physicians tend to prescribe alternative medicines known as Kampo. As a result, implants and advanced surgeries of that nature are not provided here. They are often tending to the samurai warriors in the Land of Iron's army.

Everything seemed to slow down around Suga as she ran, her chakra coursing through her body as she ran. She was absently aware that it felt like it was flowing differently, more rapidly, like the flow of water when the pressure was increased. Fitting, it seemed. And the samurai was also absently aware that everything was more clear. She ran, and jumped, and shot through trees instead of traversing the paths. And branches and other obstacles that normally she wouldn’t be able to avoid at the speeds she was moving were much easily able to be seen, like she could see them in the way before they got there. It seemed like a ather simple thing, to dodge branches, but it felt different somehow. Suga assumed it was adrenaline and fear that increased her perception. Unaware of her, however, was a physical change. More specifically, a change in her eyes. The usual black and white eyes had changed entirely! The whites of her eyes had turned a dark purple, almost violet. And the pupils had changed to a burnt orange, popping against the purple with one pupil and a single teardrop shape: a single tomoe.

It didn’t take long to get to the hospital. Normally, Suga wouldn’t be able to go right to it by way of getting lost all the time. But with the help of Tsuki flying overhead, and her new ability to focus, she got right there. The doors slid open just as she burst through. The registrar at the desk gave her a small smile upon seeing her. “Hello, Miss Sugakiko. Did you just get down training with Lord Meija again?”

“She… needs help…” Suga said between panting breaths, indicating to Ikiomi on her back. The blackhaired girl placed her hand on the counter intuitively, placing one of the violet flowers down on the counter. She didn’t even remember picking it up. The registrar looked at the two with surprise on her face, looking between Suga and Ikiomi like she didn’t know where to start. “Suga, your eyes…”

“She needs help!” Suga yelled, cutting her off. It was out of character for her to yell like that, and it caught the woman off guard before she started barking orders to hospital staff. A group of nurses took Ikiomi gently from Suga’s back and rushed her in for treatment.

Suga sat outside of the hospital a few hours after she dropped off her sister. Well, walking was more like it. Well, pacing would’ve been more accurate. The young girl had been walking around the whole time, almost as if she’d determinedly decided to create the world’s deepest man made trench. One that was only dug up by feet and that went in a weird uneven oval shape. The girl was gnawing nervously on her fingers and she kept looking down at the ground. People would walk by her and even though her gaze was cast to the ground, she could make out the looks they were giving her. Suga still had those weird eyes… those purple and orange eyes. The girl didn’t know but the citizens that walked by could see those strange eyes and gave her weird looks because of it. She could see them just out of her peripherals, and she could see a pattern. People would walk up and then change to give her a wide berth, changing their paths to be further away from her. The samurai could tell just by watching their feet. In her state of nervousness, her vision was jumping around at every sign of movement, from foot to foot to foot. They all repeated the same pattern so it made one thing very clear: they were avoiding Suga. A logical part of her brain, not weighed down with dread noticed something. That each and every person she could see seemed to be faintly glowing...

The girl didn’t care about any of that, though. One reason was because she was used to it. Most people tended to give her her space, or to give her funny looks. Or to lash out at her… The face of Lord Meija came to mind at that last one. The people of Zaishin weren’t exactly trusting of an outsider. The other reason was because there was more going on.. Tsuki cawed just then. Suga’s head shot up in response to the call and looked at her partner. She knew what he was trying to say. “I can’t help it!” She yelled back. Her emotions finally cracked through the moment she raised her voice. Her face was contorted with worry. “My sister is in the hospital because she, for some reason, decided to eat poisonous flowers!” Suga threw her hands up over her head as the fear began to turn into bewilderment which transformed into frustration. “What was she thinking anyway?!”

The pure white crow looked down at her from its branch with its brow furrowed. Suga closed her eyes and took a deep breath and counted backwards from twenty. Obviously Tsuki was worried, too, and her flipping out on him wasn’t helping anything. Once she was done counting, Suga reopened her eyes and let out the breath she was holding. “Thank you, you’re right Tsuki.” Suga went to give her pet a smile, but… “Wait.” The girl’s jaw dropped as she finally saw them. The purple and orange eyes that were glaringly obvious against Tsukiko’s white feathers. “Tsuki!” She blurted out. She could feel the uncertainty and nervousness coming right back to where it came from. “What’s wrong with your eyes?!” The crow just let out a nonchalant squawk and started to casually pick at his feather feathers. “What do you mean ‘you have them too?’” Sugakuda withdrew her sword with a slow whispering of steel and examined herself in the reflection of her blade. She let out a gasp and took a step back, dropping the weapon and causing it to hit the ground with some dull clangs. “What…” She lightly touched at her face. “What is going on?

“There you are!” A loud and rather familiar voice came booming down the road. Sugakuda looked up from her sword on the ground to the source of the noise. There, standing down the street, stood her teacher, Lord Meija. And it was just him, which was strange. Wasn’t this street crowded with people just a little bit ago? The girl had been so caught up in what was going on with her eyes she didn’t even notice everyone leave. The older samurai had his usual s**t eating smirk plastered on his face as he took steps towards his student. “I’d gotten some reports of some girl outside of the hospital. She was acting real strange and nervous and scary!” His eyebrows shot up for a moment on the last word as he said it sarcastically. “And she had these weird looking eyes. People got worried and asked me to look into it, and imagine my surprise when I see you of all people, whelp.”

“My Lord, it’s not what you think!” Suga pleaded. Sweat formed on her brow. She knew there was no reasoning with him, but she had to try. “Miss Ikiomi’s in the hospital! She-!”

“What? Were you just so frustrated by your beating before that you had to take it out on the only people weaker than you; the sick?” Meija steamrolled right over whatever Suga was saying. It was a longshot to try, but the result was what Suga expected. She gulped as the man closed the distance. “So now I have to clean up the trash around here! And I see the reports of your eyes aren’t lying. I finally see you for what you are!” Meija yelled as he instantly made the rush for the girl, drawing his own sword out in a quick flash of light! “Now die, Uchihaaaa!!!”It was a speed Suga had never seen before; but she saw it! The blackhaired girl jumped back just before the blade cleaved her in half before doing a handspring to go back further. When she righted herself, she could see that Lord Meija’s face was a combination of shock and anger.

“Tsuki!” Suga yelled at the same time as her crow fell from the branch it was on. He flew right by the old samurai at blinding speeds and grabbed his master’s sword as he went. With a flap of it’s large wings it hovered over the girl, who held her hand up above her head with her eyes closed, and dropped the sword into her palm. “I see I can’t talk to you, my Lord. But if it’s a fight you’re after.” She let out a breath as she started to focus. Then she snapped her eyes open, her expression full of fire. On closer examination, her weird purple eyes now carried a second Tomoe. “Then come!”

Second Tomoe Training 5/5

Meija growled at the display of confidence. Suga knew because she could see the movement in his throat with her new eyes. She could also make out the grinding of his teeth. “Ready Tsuki?” She went on, and was met by a squawk. Her companion floated down next to her as the Samurai made a formation with her fingers that felt natural, and willed her energy as if it were as easy as breathing. Instantly her partner exploded into a poof of white smoke.

“I won’t let you, not again!” Meiji roared as he came running at her again! The man held his blade up high above his head, the metal gleaming in the sunlight as he brought it crashing down onto his student. The white smoke dispersed before there was a loud metallic clang! “What?” The man snarled. In between Sugkuga and Lord Meija was a second Suga, a Tsukiko-Suga clone! She was in front of the man and his blade with something in between the two of them: the same symbol that Suga wore on her clothes, something close to a fan made of violet energy. Through the shield, Suga-Tsuki gave Meija a hard look that was filled with hatred.

Suga took the chance and immediately jumped up into the air over Meija, her hands forming handseals in a blur of motion. As she focused her chakra, a swirl of black flame appeared beside her. “Shokyakuton: Magatama!” As she yelled out the flames finished molding into a single upside down teardrop shape, the flames licking the outside edges, and followed Suga through the air. The girl grabbed it by the curve as she fell behind Lord Meija and threw it, sidearm style, at him. As the girl did, Tsuki-Suga disengaged from the old samurai and hopped quite a few feet away. He was barely able to turn his head before the projectile hit him square on and exploded out from him in a wreath and a tower of pure black fire!

Suga, if she had to be honest, had no idea what was going on. These techniques that her and Tsuki were using were unfamiliar to her in every way imaginable. And her perception of Meija’s moves were almost impossible. Suga had had a fight with the older samurai less than half of a day prior and she had gotten beat down into the ground. Rather handedly, in fact. In that training session, she’d been able to see him at first, but only when Keija had been holding back. Now he was trying to kill her and he was moving so much slower. No, that’s not it. Suga lifted her swordless hand to her face and lightly touched her face just below her eyes. These new eyes were able to see everything in such clarity. She’d even be so bold to say that she could now see things as they happened. Which is why what happened next came as a shock to her.

The black flame started to die down enough for the wind to blow away the embers and the smoke. There was a burst of movement from the cloud that created a gust of wind that pushed the smoke in Suga’s direction. It covered her face and made her close her eyes. The smoke filled her lungs with burning that made her cough. Suga waved it away and as it all finished clearing, she saw Lord Meija and Tsuki-Suga. The bird-girl was gripped tightly with, and was struggling against, the man’s arm wrapped around their neck. The old samurai was burned, to say the least, and his ugly mustache was still flaming at the end and it sat on top of a disgusting smirk, despite the obvious pain he was in. Maybe that was why he was smiling; Meija had finally snapped. “Not bad, about what I’d expect from an Uchiha.” He spat the word out like a curse. “But you only got this far because I let my guard down against you and your pet.” As he spoke, he pulled the crook of his elbow tighter against Tsuki-Suga. The man’s grin faded into a more serious scowl as he gripped his blade. “But I’ve had more than I can stand of you, brat. Let’s see how well you fight without your chicken!” Suga, with her enhanced perception, watched the events unfold in slow motion. Lord Meija lifted his blade and the metal gleamed eerily against the sunlight and reflected the dying embers of black flame. Suga instantly reacted, running forward as fast as her legs could take her. But even she was moving in slow motion, and much slower than the older samurai was. Without any hesitation on the man’s part, he sunk his blade right into Tsukiko’s chest. Suga looked on in horror as the world faded to grey all around her, as she watched the crimson blood of her only real family splatter to the ground, her new eyes catching every little drop and detail of the gruesome picture. Sugakuda froze in her tracks as the only sound in her grey world was the wetness of the blood hitting the ground.

Ikiomi O-dorohana
The Child of the Cherry Blossoms

Shortly after Ikiomi had fainted, she began to dream. It wasn't any kind of usual dream, it was more like that vision the flowers were giving her. But the goddess wasn't there. Ikiomi just stood alone in a forest clearing, watching as the wind blew around leaves and shook the trees. It was quiet, and calm. Slowly, the sun winked out. The sky turning pitch black, except for the thousands upon thousands of stars lighting up the sky; giving it a most spectaculiar appearance.

However, slowly, the moon rose. But it was no ordinary moon, it glowed a vibrant red; bathing the forest in red light. Looking around, Ikiomi could hear the beating of wings. The beating of thousands of wings. Slowly, she could hear the cawing and screeching. The sound got louder and louder, supposedly getting closer. Suddenly, a massive cloud of darkly colored birds covered the sky; completely blocking out all light. Ikiomi looked up at the cloud of birds, and realized they were crows and ravens. And they were fighting.

She tried to cry out, to get them to stop; but she couldn't speak. She tried to move her arms, to get their attention; but she couldn't move either. Her eyes began to fill with tears, upset with the fact that she couldn't do anything. Upset that she couldn't stop them from fighting, upset that she couldn't help the ones getting hurt. Her anger and sadness battled inside of her, simply filling the girl with more strife. Barely a few moments passed, and she fell to her knees. Ikiomi stared hard at the ground, tears falling from her face. She was powerless to stop the fighting, she was unable to help those hurt in the fighting.

Slowly, a comforing prescence approached. Ikiomi hadn't the strength to look up at them, but she could see their feet. Or, where their feet should have been. Instead, there was what looked like the hem of a dress in the way. A pure white dress that seemed to shine of it's own accord. Ikiomi had no idea who it was, but if they could move, if they could do something... She tried to speak, but again the words failed to find their way out of her mouth. Her voice seemed to not work here, wherever here was. The figure knelt down, and placed their hand on Ikiomi's shoulder. The sensation was quite comforting, even calming, but it did nothing to stop the tide within her. Ikiomi was upset, but there was nothing she could do; which only made her more upset.

Suddenly, the figure began to hum a quiet tune. Ikiomi wasn't certain how she could hear it over the cawing and screeching and beating of wings, but she could. It didn't really carry any particular pattern, just a little thing that someone would hum absentmindedly. Slowly, Ikiomi began to recognize it however. It was the same tune her mother used to hum to her when she was younger. But this figure wasn't her mother, they couldn't be. Her mother didn't wear dresses like that. Who was this mysterious person? Ikiomi felt that their name didn't matter right now, just that they were here.

Slowly, Ikiomi awoke. The dream fading away, yet still vibrant and clear in her mind. The reason she awoke was because there seemed to be a lot of sound going on outside. At first, Ikiomi assumed her brothers were training again. Then she opened her eyes. She was surprised to find herself in the hospital. What happened? Ikiomi wondered to herself. Suddenly, the memories came flooding back. Her senses finally coming back to her, Ikiomi could more clearly hear what was going on. A few of the nurses were staring out the window of the room to something that was going on outside, and judging by their movements it wasn't anything good.

Ikiomi suddenly got up, spooking the nurses; who jumped a few inches into the air as they rapidly turned around. "Wait, your body couldn't have-" One of them began to say, but Ikiomi cut them off. Without even a word, Ikiomi moved over to window to see what was going on: It was Suga's teacher, a much older samurai who had retired from active service several years ago. However, by the looks of things, he was doing something very inappropriate for being a teacher. Ikiomi paused a short moment when he shouted a particular word: "Uchiha". Ikiomi had heard it somewhere before, but she couldn't quite remember where. But by the looks of things, she didn't have the time to worry.

By the time Ikiomi fully realized what was going on, it was almost too late. As Suga began to run forward, Ikiomi jump through the window, It was going to be much faster to go through the window then to go through the front door. The glass shattered quite loudly, sending shards flying everywhere. Ikiomi was now pissed, and she certainly wasn't going to respond kindly to what she had seen happen infront of her. Meija! You're not going to like what I'm going to do to you..." Ikiomi shouted, her voice carrying a lot more power than one would expect from such a small girl. With a single hand sign, she vanished, and reappeared next to the old samurai in a cloud of purple mist. "What!?" Meija spat, jumping backwards. But not before he breathed a full lung of the mist.

Suddenly, after he dropped Tsuki, he started coughing. His face clearly going pale. "You b***h! You'll *cough* pay for that! *cough*" He shouted at Ikiomi. If it was possible to describe the sheer hatred the girl felt at the moment for the old samurai, it wouldn't be describable in a single word. With a stomp, the ground suddenly began to move. Well, not quite the ground. What appeared to be roots shot through the ground, racing towards Meija. "What is this?" He said, right before the roots suddenly shot up all around him. Each root was over a foot thick, and they quickly wrapped around his whole body. "Suga! You deal with him, I'll take care of Tsuki!" Ikiomi shouted, quickly picking up Tsuki and vanishing in a cloud of pale pink mist.

Ikiomi then re-appeared several meters away, much closer to the hospital. "Don't worry Tsuki, you'll be just fine..." Ikiomi said to the white crow, the anger comepletely flushed from her face. Gently, she placed him down on the ground; and began to focus her chakra into her hands. Touching Tsuki with nothing but her right index finger, she immediately learned of everything that was afflicting the bird. "I see... the damage is deep... Well, here goes nothing..." A combination of jutsu were activated, turning the air around Ikiomi bright pink. Alongside this, Ikiomi turned into a cloud of petals again. Tsuki slowly floated upwards, utterly surrounded by the cloud of petals; blocking him slightly from view. The wound on his torso quickly closed, even restoring his feathers to their previous state. Slowly, he would open his eyes to find himself surrounded in a cloud of swirling petals.

Slowly, one of the petals would move seperately from the rest, gently landing on his torso where the wound used to be. Suddenly, the petal turned to blood; soaking into Tsuki's white feathers, staining them red for a moment. Slowly, the blood seemed to fade away; but it wasn't. It was entering Tsuki's body, giving him even greater strength. The bird would feel it only slightly at first, as he became more aware of the trees and flowers. Slowly being able to distinguish between each individual bud, and each leaf on a tree. The world seemed to begin to pulse with life, making everything appear more vibrant. "You can see it, can't you?" Ikiomi's voice came from the cloud of petals surrounding Tsuki. "The life that breathes through the world around us." Ikiomi answered the question before it even came to the birds mind. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" To some extent, even Suga would see this; though it wasn't as clear. "This is the world that I see, the world that I've come to know." Ikiomi's voice was oddly somber, though certainly not sad.

Slowly, the cloud of petals gently stood Tsuki on the ground; guiding him back to the earth. While it was all but impossible to tell, Ikiomi was smiling; quite broadly. Slowly, she turned to look back at Meija; who was still struggling with the tree roots. Without even a slight reaction, she willed yet more roots to come up and surround him; covering every part of his body except his head. "Oh, you're not going to like this Meija. Not. One. Bit!" Ikiomi said, her voice unusually nasty. Slowly, the cloud of petals approached Meija, all wrapped in roots. "This will only hurt a lot."

The moment the cloud of petals surrounded the clump of roots that Meija became trapped in, he began to scream. A syringe formed from pure chakra stuck itself into his cheek, which made his face go completely white. One of the petals touched his face, which seemed to cause the man great pain.
Another touch from a different petal, and he began to shake violently. Yet another petal touching him, and he visibly appeared to weaken. "Just... one more, because you're such a monster." Ikiomi said, her voice filled with a... unpleasant tone, much like an scheming woman; but much more poisonous.
A small blade appeared mid-aid, made of pink energy. It suddenly pressed itself into the root clump; causing what appeared to be excruciating pain to the man. However, it appeared that Ikiomi wasn't done. A fourth petal touched the man, this time on his fourhead. Suddenly, he screamed out in what supposedly was such pain that his eyes rolled back into his head; his mouth open at it's fullest extent.

Ikiomi then, a few moments later, turned back into her normal form; stepping gently out of the air. Meija wasn't uncouncious, but the sudden sensations made him horribly dazed. "It's your decision, Suga. Do we let him live? If so, I can easily undo everything I just did to him. If not..." The blade from before reformed in the air above Ikiomi's now outstretched hand. Her meaning was clear, and so she felt that finishing her sentence was unnecessary.

Her friend.

Suga could see the blade skewer into her lifelong companion in such clarity. Every inch that the blade traveled, every feather that moved out of place, every section of flesh that was ripped open. And every drop of life blood that fell from Tsukiko and stained the ground. In a world of black and white, the crimson blood stood out so much more prominently against the white ground. It was so bright red that it almost blinded Suga. The world around the girl was shaking… Why was it shaking? Was there an earthquake happening too? Everything was so blurry and fuzzy from movement. Tsuki’s gone… The words echoed in the young girl’s mind as she suddenly found herself looking at the ground. She was on her knees and staring at the bright white ground beneath her. Her eyes were wide open in horror and despair while she gripped to the sides of her head until the tips of her fingers went just as white. The ground was shaking, and it seemed to be moving further down and then back to normal like it was breathing. The air around Suga was cold and damp and clammy. Why was the world shaking?? In the back of her mind, Suga knew it wasn’t the world, but her. She was breathing violently, shaking like a leaf, and sweating enough to fill an arctic ocean. She could hear herself screaming in agony… but it was far away. Like she was hearing it from somewhere else in Zaishin and not out of her own throat.

Tsuki’s gone…

He was her best friend, the girl’s family. The girl and her bird had always been together for as long as they could remember. No, even further back than they remembered. The two had this bond that was as if they were the same being. When one felt pain so did the other. And Suga was feeling a whole lot of pain right now. Her heart felt like it was on fire as it mimicked the stabbing of Meija’s blade into the bird’s heart. She had lost her true family at the hands of a vile monster and her body was reacting accordingly. The orange tomoe in her purple eyes faded from their teardrop shape and molded. They formed together instead as lines, making a shape that could only be described as a triple spiral. It was only that this change happened that Suga’s head slowly lifted. Movement of energy had caught her attention, and the young girl was only able to see it clearly with this new level of eye.

Ikiomi appeared behind Meija in a poof of smoke and as she did the world came back to Suga. Color re-entered her vision and sounds all came back to her in a rush. She could only watch as her sister wrapped her old master with roots that suddenly sprang up from the ground, cracking the path way. “Miss Ikiomi!” Suga called out from her place on the ground. The girl with pink hair had grabbed Tsuki, who immediately reverted back to a bird after a puff of smoke. The younger girl told Suga to take care of Meija, and she’d save the crow. All of the despair the blackhaired girl felt was gone in an instant. But it was strange; afterwards she just felt...empty. She wasn't sure what to feel. Relief and joy that her lifelong friend was getting help? No, she wasn’t feeling any of that. Suga was able to compare it to the receding of the ocean before a giant wave. Something was going to come, and soon. But in the meantime.

“You really are pathetic, My Lord.” The word’s out of the young samurai’s mouth were cold, calculated, and detached. She rose to her feet and calmly walked over to the old samurai, her entire demeanor devoid of emotion. She slid her sword into its sheath on her waist. “For all your talk, you really couldn’t handle two whelps. And a chicken.” Suga had finally closed the distance to the lord. She wasn’t in any hurry; tangled up as he was, he wasn’t going anywhere. She looked up at him with her cold, purple eyes, before giving him two light slaps on either side of his face. Suga was usually a quiet girl, but even this was uncharacteristically silent...it was almost cruel. “Are you ready, My Lord? Any second my sister will engage in your punishment. Then we’ll begin your continued lesson on reality.” Suga spat the man’s wrds from the training session back at him and pinched the man’s cheeks and pulled his face down with her forefinger and thumb. “My reality.”

It was then Ikiomi began her onslaught. Suga didn’t even flinch from her spot: she just held the man’s face with her hand as she let the wind blow her black hair and her clothes around. It wasn’t until her sister was done then did Suga look into the man’s eyes with her own. “I know what my sister did to you just now.” Suga said. “Your nerves will begin to fail and it will feel as if they are being burned down slowly, like a candle. Your body will become unresponsive, heavy, and fatigued. Like if a house was just simply resting on your shoulders and only slowly increasing its pressure.” She recited the side effects of the poison, the world around Suga and Meija faded colors. The sky turned a burnt blood red, while the two of them turned black with white outlines. “Your chakra system will fail, burning itself down as if it were the otherside of the wick that is the candle of your nervous system. And the poison, simply, will flow through your veins and squirm its way into your organs as they begin to fail.” While she spoke, Lord Meija let out an incoherent scream as the surface of his body started to slowly dissolve like burning paper. “You problem can’t hear me, however. Through all of those sensations. You’re probably very confused about it all.” Suga added, almost with a small disappointed sigh. “My Lord, I will help you understand. Usually all of the effects of the poisons last for only a few short hours before eventually you die.” Suga made a focus of will and an image of her eyes was suddenly projected over the dark red sky. “So I’ve made arrangements for you to feel every agonizing second… for seventy two hours.” Lord Meija wouldn’t notice, but as Suga spoke more and more of the two of them faded into existence. All seemed to be burning like paper. And with each one that appeared, the pain Meija was feeling would multiply. It would seem like the torture had gone on for an eternity before Suga’s voice rang out, and it was suddenly back down to the two. “Seventy-one hours, fifty nine minutes, and fifty nine second remain. My Lord.”

What would seem like forever to the old samurai would only, in reality, when Ikiomi reformed. Suga let go of the man’s face and turned to her sister and her bird companion. “Get him medical attention.” She said, almost dismissively. “We can put him to work.’ The young girl slowly knelt down over her companion and gently scooped the bird up into her arms. Suga’s eyes slowly regained their emotion as a sort of sadness washed over her face. The tsunami of emotions was finally about to crash. “Miss Ikiomi….“ She turned to Ikiomi, her purple and orange eyes fading just after they made eye contact. “Thank you…” Was all she could manage before turning around. Suga held her lifelong friend close to her chest and began to sob, her body trembling as tears fell to the ground. The compassionate, normal Sugakud was back.

And she was going to be sick.

Ikiomi O-dorohana
The Child of the Cherry Blossoms

Ikiomi wanted to just sit there and comfort Suga, but if she left Meija the way he was currently: He would actually die. She wasn't certain she cared, but Suga said to heal him. Sighing, she turned to face the now uncouncious old samurai. With a wave of her hand, the roots receded back into the ground; leaving nary a trace. He fell in a bit of a jumble onto the ground, which Ikiomi immediately began to straighten out. She made him lay flat on the ground, as it makes the whole process much easier.

Ikiomi began to focus chakra into her hands, making them glow a soft pink. Slowly, she placed her hands above Meija's chest. His body instantly reacted to the healing, causing it to spasm for a moment. While to Suga, this might've been worrying; Ikiomi knew better. It was simply shock from the sudden lack of pain or anything similar. After barely even a few moments, Ikiomi moved her hands away. "He is healed." Ikiomi said, her voice slowly returning to normal.

Ikiomi then turned to face Suga, looking at her with a worried face on. Unsure of what to say, Ikiomi simply hugged the girl. She had no idea what Suga was going through, and the strange eyes only reminded Ikiomi of something her father was worried about. But, at the moment, that didn't matter. Ikiomi slowly closed her eyes, visualizing the chakra within herself. However, suddenly, that dark world full of fighting crows and ravens reappeared. This time though, the woman from before wasn't there.

Ikiomi looked around, still unsure of what was going on. Why was she even seeing this place? Was someone, or something, showing it to her? If so, why? Her mind raced with theoreticals, but that didn't seem to matter right now; as the birds seemed to have noticed her now. Only a few of them at first, but slowly the whole cloud of ravens and crows seperated; perched on the surrounding trees.

Ikiomi had no idea why they stopped fighting, or why they only noticed her this time. There were just so many unknown factors, it was impossible to make a planned decision. However, from the curious staring of the birds, Ikiomi felt something was somewhat... off. A memory suddenly burst fourth into Ikiomi's mind, having just put the pieces together. It was shortly after their family had found Suga, and Ikiomi's father was speaking to a strange man in a cloak. They were talking about... Suga. Ikiomi wasn't entirely certain of the whole conversation, as she was rather young at the time, but she recalled mention of three things most notably: The Uchiha Clan, Konohagakure, and the Sharingan. Ikiomi wasn't certain how the other two were connected to the third, but she assumed it was some kind of technique utilized by the foremost.

The part that still didn't make sense though, was why this place reminded her of this memory so vividly. After a few seconds, it clicked. Suga must have been related to these Uchiha people, who, at least once upon a time, resided in the village of Konohagakure; with the sharingan being one of their prominent techniques. Suga having Tsuki with her all the time made this strange place full of crows and ravens make sense as well. There must have been some kind of relation on that extent, but she wasn't certain to it's full extent.

Suddenly, Ikiomi could hear the wingbeats of some massive creature; though it sounded distant. Slowly, the sound became louder and louder as it approached where she was. Eventually, a massive three-legged crow could be seen flying through the sky. After a few moments of circling, the massive crow landed a dozen or so feet from Ikiomi. For Ikiomi's part, she wasn't sure how to react. The creature had a prescence that made shivers go up her spine, but she stood her ground; forcing her body to remain still and calm.

Ikiomi wasn't sure, but it seemed like the massive crow smiled at her. Then he began to laugh. Well, more like caw repetitively. A few seconds later, the creature stopped; and looked back down at Ikiomi. "What is this place?" Ikiomi asked the creature. Her voice seemed to echo throughout the land, causing the trees to shake and tremble. "This is the Midnight Dreary Realm, within the sage lands; as your kind refers to it." The voice it spoke with also echoed throughout the land, but it didn't quite make the trees shake and tremble. "I see... What relation does this place have to my sister Sugakuda?" She asked the great crow. "Sugakuda? Her name resides within the scroll of the contract, as does all of her bloodline." The crow responded concisely. "Bloodline...? Oh, I see..." Ikiomi said, mostly to herself, as she slowly looked down at the ground. It didn't matter who she was really related to, Suga was her sister. Nothing would change that.

Slowly, Ikiomi looked back up at the massive crow; but it wasn't there. Instead, a man with dark hair and bright red eyes stood in it's place. Ikiomi somehow knew it was the same entity, though the prescence didn't change; so that would have given it away to begin with. "I feel as though I should know you, but a name doesn't come to mind. Who are you?" Ikiomi asked, the world slowly dissolving again as her senses returned to the waking world. "You may call me... Yatsu." the man said, seemingly unfazed by the dissolving world. When nothing but the man was left, he closed his eyes; and vanished.

Ikiomi slowly opened her eyes, still hugging Suga. "Yatsu... what an interesting man... Ikiomi said under her breath, though she didn't realize she said it.

Suga could not stop trembling while she was in Ikiomi’s arms. In the black haired girl's own arms she cradled Tsuki. She held the bird as tight to her chest as she could without disturbing him too much. It was only now that the samurai could feel just how tiny and soft her partner really was. She sometimes forgot because she was so used to him. And even though the two of them trained together, Tsuki was just a bird at the end of the day.. Hot tears trailed down Suga’s face as the three of them stood there. Crying wasn’t something she usually did but there were far too many things to feel at the moment. The sorrow of Tsuki’s death, the rage she felt at Meija. The sudden rebound and relief that Tsuki was alive… It all happened in the span of less than a minute. It was like all of her emotions were colliding with one another and the following pile up resulted in only ears. So she couldn’t help but cry and shake and just generally feel overwhelmed. Suga was just fourteen, after all, and as she stood there sobbing it was only made that much more obvious. She was a scared and confused teenage girl, living in a world she didn’t truly belong in, without any friends or family. These thoughts (thoughts she’d had for a while but tried to ignore) all exploded to the forefront of her mind, violently so. And it only made her start to cry that much harder as the stabbing pain in her gut wrenched itself tighter. And over and over again those thoughts repeated themselves, often overlapping into a jumbled mess in her head.

It wasn’t until a squeezing around her midsection did Suga manage to snap out of it. She felt a warmth around her waist and a comforting presence on her back that slowly calmed her breathing down to an acceptable rate of speed. Ikiomi was there. Once again, Ikiomi was there to save her and help her and support her. The young girl lifted whatever fingers she could to make contact with the arms Ikiomi had around her while still holding on to Tsuki, trying to acknowledge that she appreciated what her sister was doing. Before Suga could properly thank her sister, her world suddenly felt unstable. Everything she could see became blurry and it felt as if the Earth itself was spinning at a million miles an hour. Within seconds Suga found she had lost her balance and had gone limp in Ikiomi’s arms. Her head was rolling loosely on her neck and her eyes, whenever they fluttered open, were their regular shade of black. “Miss Ikiomi…” she managed to say through labored breaths. “I would very much like to go home now.”

Ikiomi O-dorohana
The Child of the Cherry Blossoms

Ikiomi wasn't entirely certain how to take Suga home. She was clearly very shaky, and only helping her move might not be enough. Instead of potentially asking one of the staff inside the clinic, Ikiomi waved her right hand through the air: Causing a clone of herself to form from a cloud of cherry petals. The clone of herself helped her hold Suga steady from both sides, slowly walking her down the street and eventually throughout the rest of the city; leading Suga back home. Ikiomi wanted to say something, to at least try] and bring her sister some form of comfort... but she couldn't think of anything to say. She simply kept her silence the whole way.

The war that had long since passed left many scars in its conclusion. In the form of broken families, lost hope, and traumatizing injuries if one was lucky enough not to succumb to death's grasp. Kampo Shinryosho, with what medical knowledge they did possess, did all they could to mend such wounds, physical and mental. Unfortunately due to the lack of staff and advanced medical knowledge in the form of Iryojutsu, the clinic has been struggling with the growing number of patients inside of the small building, and was in dire need of assistance.

Jun Mahofu, one of the rare few members in the Samurai ranks possessing extensive medical knowledge as well as possessing the required chakra control to perform Iryojutsu, was the first to answer the call. Her clan didn't exactly have a great reputation given the "dishonorable" nature of their bloodline and abilities, and as a result many of the physicians were shocked senseless by her arrival. There was no time to stand around gawking. The biggest issue aside from the lack of strength in the samurai ranks currently and unbearable stagnation as a whole was the fact that medical attention for aforementioned samurai was lacking in itself. She made her way towards one of the patient rooms, instructing two nurses to follow her for guidance.

To some extent, everyone was capable of using chakra, including the physicians currently running the clinic. Whether or not she'd be able to teach them how to use it effectively to make their jobs more efficient was going to be quite the journey. Jun did not have anything against the traditional methods of Kampo, no, that's actually what got her interested in the medical field to begin with. However, with the traumas and injuries sustained from the last war, their medical expertise would have to rise to match it. The Shinobi's capabilities with their chakra were powerful and destructive; the only way to remedy such disasters were with applications of chakra.

The first patient was a young samurai who appeared to be no older than his early to late teens. Jun inspected him closely, taking note of the several bandages wrapped around the top of his head, his right arm - or, what was left of it, rather - and the various cuts and scrapes over his body. He was clearly in pain, still, and the nurses explained that they used a combination of herbs to make a salve to help heal some of his wounds, and were forced to amputate his right arm due to it being crushed beyond compare during the war. Immediately after the explanation ended, Jun's hand began glowing with chakra performing a quick diagnosis to check for any other possible injuries and get an examination of the nurse's work.

The diagnosis revealed exactly what the nurses had explained to her, and nothing more, so from that she could conclude that most of his injuries were external. A minor healing hands was used to mend the young samurai of some of his smaller scrapes and cuts. The nurses watched in disbelief as Jun moved her hand coated in dark orchid chakra around his body. The small injuries could be seen closing and healing almost immediately, leaving the samurai's skin in its natural state. Jun explained to the nurses that this was not "magic" by any means, but simply applying a healing property to one's chakra, with chakra control. With that out of the way, the Mahofu clansman would attempt to work on that arm...

She was unsure how long it had been since new bandages were applied, or the status of whatever stitching was done to help the healing along. Another medical technique was used, this one that was performed would rid the amputated arm, bandages, and stitches of germs and bacteria. Her soothing voice calmed the samurai as she reassured him that everything was going to be okay, and that he'd be able to return to his family soon. Jun was quite persuasive with her speech, and just those few words alone allowed her to carefully remove the bandages without much protest from the patient. Still it was a rather painful process, as seen in the anguish on his face and the sudden, jerky movements of his body reacting to the pain. Jun instructed the nurses to hold him down gently to reduce any irritation of his wounds during the removal process.

A few minutes later, the bandages were removed revealing that some of the stitching had come loose, thus causing the wound to reopen and start bleeding. Normally some kind of anesthesia would need to be administered to the patient before working on something like an amputated limb. The nurses even urgently suggested it well before she started removing the bandages. However there was no real need for it, as the healing properties of the chakra she was going to use would accelerate the healing, whatever pain he'd feel would be minimal and short-lived. Jun explained this to the nurses, who stepped back and allowed her to do her work. With time, hopefully they would be able to use such techniques themselves as well.

On second thought, Jun figured this would be a great learning experience for the nurses, by exposing them to other applications and properties of Iryojutsu. Contact was made with her chakra-imbued hand to the samurai's arm, with the chakra suddenly fading mere seconds later. Upon asking the patient if they could move their amputated arm, they explained that they could not. In fact, it felt like it wasn't there at all. Before the nurses could freak out, Jun interjected. The technique she used was an application of Iyrojutsu that removed his sense of feeling, similar to that of an anesthetic. While there were offensive applications to this type of technique as well, it certainly worked for procedures such as this one in a pinch.

With the lost sense of touch in the patient, the nurses no longer had to worry about what minor pain the young samurai would succumb to during the healing process. Truthfully, they had already gone through enough, and while Jun was thankful that they were able to return home (mostly) in one piece, she silently mourned those who were less fortunate. However now was not the time for emotions, a level head was required for such operations to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the procedure for the patient's sake. The remaining stitches were delicately removed, Jun's chakra coated hands working efficiently to ensure completely removal, while using the chakra surrounding her hands to apply a cleaning property to the wounds every so often during the removal process.

Once the stitches were gone, it was time to heal the wound properly. Another glow of dark orchid chakra appeared on her hand. Despite its ominous-looking color, its potential for healing could not be denied as the nurses spectated the act with their very eyes. A slightly stronger healing hands technique was applied this time, motioning around the wound of his amputated arm. The open, revealed skin would slowly start to mend, a scar forming in its place before reverting back to the natural skin reminiscent of the rest which composed the outside of their arm. The samurai himself was shocked by the display, going so far as to call Jun a savior for her rare skill in Iyrojutsu. The technique used to remove the samurai's sense of touch was soon removed, and after a final check up, was allowed to go home.

Jun left the operation room with the nurses in tow, bringing them to speak with the lead physician of the clinic. The nurses went on to describe their observations of Jun's work, suggesting that her skill with Iryojutsu could be of major use inside the facility. The lead physician, stuck in her ways of maintaining tradition, was at first hesitant, but eventually agreed. While she was not completely comfortable with a Mahofu clansmen working in the clinic for obvious reasons, Jun assured her that the motive for working here was to improve the services that Kampo Shinryoso could provide for their patients, while adhering to tradition. The combination of Iryojutsu application alongside the traditional methods of Kampo would serve Zaishin and its people in a way that will positively affect its future for years to come.
