The viking party had spent several uneventful days in the rogue lands, aiming for Kusini'mwezi. It had soon become apparent, however, their information regarding its location had been misleading. Instead, the viking had wound up nearer and nearer the direction of the Pridelands. With this change in circumstances, the lions (and their avians) had stopped well outside the boarder of the nearest pride to re-group and form battle strategy.

The group had settled beneath a marula tree, shaded from the heat of the day. In the lower branches, the two falcons sat perched, looking down on the six lions who were discussing how they intended to go about pillaging the pride lands.

"There's too many to launch an attack that would draw the attention of the bulk of their defenses." Parth sat in the shade, his back to the trunk of the spindle tree. He had never completed a viking in the Pridelands but he was aware of their size. It was one of the oldest--and largest--prides he knew of. "I suggest we remain on the edges, attacking those that come within range. It leaves for an easy escape if there's too many for our band."

Fintan interjected then, not taking care to hide his smugness. "For each of us, we could handle at least three of them. Their way of life is so... peaceful. I mean, do they even have a fighting for--ouCH!"

Finch had taken the opportunity to thump his son on the head. "Be quiet and listen. Their lionesses are all hunters and will cut you down in a heartbeat if you underestimate them."

The younger lion rubbed the back of his head with a glower at his snickering twin while the more seasoned of their party continued.

Fintan continued, standing near his sons. "An alternative would be to scout out their dens and attack during the morning, after the bulk of them empty. Anything valuable will be in them and what force remains back can be taken as thralls." His voice was a flat tone, emotionless at the idea of sacking the homes of the pridelanders.

Parth shrugged but nodded all the same, conceding it wouldn't be a terrible plan. Of course, the end plan would be up to Ifrit and Parth had a wariness that stemmed from his lack of experience under the red lion. He just hoped he was good enough not to get anyone killed.
