To those traveling to and near the gates, there appears to be nothing more than a lush forest that is thick with bamboo and other vegetation. This is an illusion that is maintained by a powerful fuuinjutsu. This illusion and fuuinjutsu combination is created by thousands of rites laid across the landscape surrounding the village. Persons entering the perimeter of the barrier, or peering into from afar, who are not of Hidden Leaf decent will become disoriented and believe that they are seeing nothing more than more plant-life, causing them to end up skirting far around the village entirety, coming out on the other side of the forest as if nothing existed there to begin with. Or in the case of long range surveillance, will find their sight only revealing endless trees. Masked behind the illusory forest, guards stand watch in pairs, guarding sectors of the barrier, awaiting anyone who may discover their secret. A secondary Fuuinjutsu is layered upon the first that allows all gate guards and the Hokage to know when a person has passed through the barrier.

A breeze rolled through the thick bamboo forest, weaving it's way through the trees leaving dancing sprouts in it's wake. A lone shinobi walking along a barely visible path has his long brown ponytail teased by the passing gale, seeming as if it were joyous to be back in the forest. The shinobi paused in his journey and turned his gaze to the sky, the breeze licking at his cheeks. With one black and one white eye, Kikan stared up at the bright blue sky. He was relieved to be back in these lands he called home after being away on a mission for so long. Though he was proud to serve his village, he did hate to be away from it for more than a fortnight. Turning his sight back to the path ahead of him, Kikan resumed his journey forward through the bamboo thicket. His destination was the Hidden Leaf village, which is protected by powerful sealing techniques to prevent any outsiders from stumbling on the place. In light of what has happened to the Leaf in the past, it's no surprise the security had been drastically improved compared to it's predecessor. Kikan had passed that point nearly ten minutes ago, so the Hokage already knew he was coming.
Arriving at the edge of the bamboo forest, there stood before him a pair of massive red doors - the gates to the Village Hidden in the Leaves. A large Leaf emblem carved in them, they were a spectacle to behold every time he returned. Stretching his arm straight up toward the sky, Kikan looked toward a guard tower atop the wall.
"Hey! Seiji! It's me, open the gate" Kikan called from behind his facemask.
A brown head of hair poked out of the tower looking toward Kikan, sporting a shiny Leaf headband. The person let out a laugh and waved back to him.
"Hoi! You're finally back, eh Kikan? Where were you this time, huh?" The man yelled down.
"I'll tell you later, Seiji. I have business with Lahlil." Kikan answered flatly, lowering his arm.
"Ahh, you're no fun! You always say 'I'll tell you later'!" Seiji shouted back, crossing his arms.
"And I always do, don't I?" Kikan retorted mockingly.
"Alright, alright. But don't forget, it's Lady Hokage now, Kikan. Just because you knew her before she became the Hokage doesn't mean you don't have to call her by her title. Be respectful." Seiji warned him.
Kikan simply nodded as the gates slowly started to open with a groan. Once there was enough space, Kikan began his trek toward the Kage Office.
The entrance to the village was very modern - beautiful stone roads, aesthetically pleasing storefronts, electricity poles that ran like ribbon above the buildings. People and shinobi usually dotted the road to the entrance, but today seemed a bit slower. Kikan didn't mind this, he was usually thankful to have his moments of quiet. However, after being gone from the village for so long, he found he missed the hustle and bustle of the village inhabitants. To the few villagers that noticed him, Kikan waved politely, even causing a few small giggling children to tug at their parents clothes to show them the shinobi that just returned. Directly in front of him across the sprawling metropolis, Kikan could see the Hokage's office perched on a high cliff watching over the entire village. His mind couldn't help but wander to thoughts of Lahlil Nevarra, and what she was doing at that moment. Probably up to her shoulders in paperwork of goings on in the village he thought. With a shrug and gentle shaking of his head, Kikan strode forward, ready to report in to the Hokage about his latest mission.
The literal instant Ji had vanished from the gym, they were at the gates of Konoha. They'd felt the Director on the move outside of the headquarters, so they opted to come here and remain on standby. It made more sense to the to continue the briefing on the way out. With this village being new and their high value target being gone since before the reconstruction, they doubted any of the target's personal effects would be around for them to track via scent. A useful skill, but Ji would not dare presume to entertain the notion that Sadayo had not already thought of it, so they wouldn't bring it up.

So, really, it took Sadayo a few tries before she actually turned up at the games. She might have been in a big, high and mighty position but that didn't make Sadayo perfect at figuring out where Ji might turn up. Hunting and tracking weren't necessarily where she excelled either. Oh, good," she announces herself to Ji after having finally turn up at the Gates.
"Should I entertain the thought that Lahlil's already told you about a missing persons assignment? I left a couple notes which should have reached her. Here," A thin file folder slips out from under her cape before being held out for offer to her subordinate, Sadayo flicks open the file and peeled over the top sheet for the underlying statement from a teacher. "Take a look. Nothing hush-hush since it's all baseline information that consequently excludes his specialization and abilities. I'd like you to accompany me for this." Inside, all the same information was as is from it's initial records. The subject is male with blonde hair, blue eyes, with his height and estimated weight described beside his physical build. Whirlpool teachers generally reported him missing without any guess to where he might have gone. But most statements were empty when it came to leads, as Ji would find with review.
"Except this statement. I ran over this one again on the long walk down, out of The Hokage's office. This account is probably our least ordinary out of what was taken." Sadayo skimmed over the paragraph of a teacher's statement before she pointed at a phrase scrawled down by a former agent before she turned the paper over the Ji. ”Someone likes frogs enough to go wandering away and this someone probably prompt Kairi to do the same. I missed this detail when I pulled the record.”

The Director had arrived. Not that they would ever show it, but Ji had developed quite a high level of patience in their life leading up to joining the village officially. They'd nod to confirm the mission had formally been assigned by the Hokage, walking closer to quickly read over the displayed file. The contents of the file were just as useful as they'd expected reading over Sadayo's shoulder, finding nothing that could actually be useful in tracking the target down. This task would not have been assigned to them otherwise. They took the file, examining the mentioned article close, handing it back in a flash after closing it. The portion about frogs had been a good catch and gave Ji a place to start. "I suggest we head for the Sage Land of the Toads immediately." They had exhausted much of their goodwill with the hierarchy of their own kind, but they should hold just enough cordiality with them to broker information with the amphibians without revealing their identity. They'd hold out their hand from their cloak, gesturing out into the wide world. "By your leave, Ma'am."

Had Byakko not been around for the development of the traps and fuuin the two forces would have easily been confused by the illusions placed upon them. Thankfully the two allowed their instincts to guide them back to the village. After all, it was only two years ago that they fled the village after burning down their church and causing mass destruction to two fifth of the village. Not to mention that was the day that Toboe was declared as missing, and unless the ANBU went to the core of that issue, it was probable that Byakko, under the guise of Kazuto Sakuraba, was blamed for all of the crimes. The one crime of course he did commit was the stealing and sealing of the eight tailed demon, which was under the orders of the hokage to remain in the sanctuary of the church. Truth be told there was a lot for Byakko to atone for, but that was neither here nor there. The fuuin would allow Lalhil to know that he had arrived, and that was the only warning he gave to entering the village.
Wisps of gold could be seen flying between the bamboo trees. Heavy paws hit the ground and when kicked off, left nothing behind. For a moment, the golden guardian stopped as he panted and glanced around the bamboo forest. He was lost. Covered with his beautiful scales with tattle tale of blood red liquid running through the fur. There was few spots on the creature that indicated he was hurt recently in some sorts of battle. His paws were raw and achy from the hot boiling water he had to run through to escape.
There was a girl on his back. She was screaming and crying. Her hair was disheveled and the petals of the flowers on her hair were missing. There were few cuts and bruises but she was better off than Tenshi. While the beautiful creature looked like he went through battle, she looked like she had ran through the forest. The blue-haired girl knew better than to fall off of Tenshi but there was a goal in her mind; "Take me back!" She sputtered, tears streaking down leaving a clean path on her dirt-stained face. "You stupid so-called guardian! Take me back!" She wailed as she started to pull tufts of Tenshi's magnificent fur. Tenshi paid her no mind as he took off in the forest, not knowing he set off the funninjutsu. Komoriuta had no choice but to hand onto Tenshi, all the meanwhile, she was kicking his sides with her heels.

tabAlarm bells ringing in her head the Lahlil clone rushed through the forest in order to get a glimpse of whatever it was that had set of her fuunin placements. Normally this would be the job of a Jounin but there forces were stretched a bit thin at the moment and Lahlil had always been the type to be overcareful with the lives her subordinates. Hopefully that wouldn't turn into a fault of hers someday.
While locating the pair with her sensory jutsu wasn't a problem, What to make of them soon would be. Is that a.. tiger, carrying a young girl on her back? To make matters worse the girl seemed distressed and possibly injured, although Lahlil had trouble telling within being closer to her. Cursing her lack of foresight in sending a clone with so little chakra, the Lahlil impression leaped down with all the grace of a feather. Concern spilled across her face. It was likely that girl would be able to tell a subtle change in eye color when she didn't know Lahlil's to begin with, but the soft lavender would twist into a brink pink of her Sakkakugan. Her doujutsu already working it's magic in with her words Lahlil lifted her hands far above her head so as to appear non-threatening. "Excuse me, I'm a ninja from the village hidden in the leaves." To emphasize this fact Lahlil revealed the shine of the leaf headband that proved their was so hidden deceit. "Are you injured or in trouble? I could help if you allow me.." Slow and calmly the woman moved closer hoping not to upset whatever kind of animal this was. The girl attempted to scream but it was more of a loud talk. Then she calmed down again. The dojustu was having an effect on them. Even the massive golden tiger went from I will kill you to some odd growling purr kind of noise. The girl then sat up straight, her hair all over the place with more missing petals as she pointed to where they came from... then paused. Pointed another way.. then paused. She wanted to get mad so she gave the tiger one swift kick at his side, "Stupid you! Where are they?!" The Foo Dog gave no response, instead he was keeping an eye on the woman before them. Upon closer inspection, the stranger would find that the girl was only hurt from the run of the woods. The golden guardian was worst off but it was manageable.
Then finally, he spoke. His voice soft, silky, and deep, "The Futton Clan was traveling. We were ambushed.

" Hmm..." along the way she made it close to the gates that's when she heard and saw all the commotion. it appeared something had happened while she was away. curious she would watch from afar. one individual stuck out to her, this one seemed to rush out of the gates and into the forest. if it was a group of ninja then there was definitely going to be bodies and bodies means organs which means money. Curious Clem would trail behind this woman using the trees to keep cover rushing into the forest. she wanted to collect abit more

Removing her own personal headband, Lahlil gently attempted to place it on the golden tiger without getting bitten. It was a quick solution but the piece of metal should be more than enough for her to gain admittance into village facilities and get their wounds looked after while Lahlil herself sought to head in whatever direction the foo dog pointed her in.

When more than one genjutsu is on the target their ranks are shifted so that the lower ranked genjutsus get their strength bumped up to highest ranked genjutsu on the target for the rest of it's duration. This is only useable up to the users self ranked korabo level and each genjutsu is still treated as separate when interacting with kai. Any upkeeps are also increased to reflect this change.

She scrambled as she got up rather roughly. "I said, I'm going." The blue-haired girl spoke, glaring right at her own guardian. She was going and that was that. Or so she thought. She heard her golden guardian let out a sigh as he then took her by her dress with his mouth and picked her up as she started to flail and push him around but she was still oddly calm at the moment.
