As if students requiring stabbing each other wasnโt some form of sick torture. Midori snorted amid laughing. โ Making sutures is whole other story. A story that you can practice on slabs of unprocessed pork or something less gross.โ Was medical humor that funny? Her tone taking a change to answer the more serious matters. โWaiting, yes.Itโs rough sometimes but I suppose you just get used to having to wait to avoid making hasty decisions. Take how Doctor Chikatanda could cut open little Kozuke right now but her high blood pressure could make post-surgery recovery slightly moreโฆ.iify.โ She pairs a gesture off to emphasize the โiffyโ nature of what certain choices can do: turning her wrist side-to-side before she slipped her hand in her pocket.
โBeing in a big building with a lot going on feels weirdly more in control to me than trying to make something work in the field. Battlefield, I mean. Itโs hectic and cases can get critical. Youโve got a huge team to keep the order going, like our Maintenance group who should get that dumb button up and going before I need to talk to someone about running some double shifts to pick up the buttons slack.โ Some obvious shade to the nurse in the room who was waiting scrawling down vital readings.

Which will, uh, mean a lot.โ She would walk him to the doorway, hold gently on a curtain hanging in the doorway, and takes a last look at the resting child in bed. A look on her face that had the subtle underlying hints of worry just before changing tune. Midori points at herself and proudly flashes a grin. โโcause BOSS LADY DAYO KNOWS ME!โ Apparently this was something Midori was very proud of... for whatever reason...
Kai sat on his hands as he listened to Midori, trying not to fidget while they waited. He supposed she had a point about things being more in control and less hectic in the hospital than on the battlefield. But he still had little experience on both, so what did he know? "I want to help out here more often. And, uh, I'm sorry for my lateness. I hadn't realized how important a day in the hospital could be. I won't be making that mistake again. I would love to be your student and I think we can, like, do a lot of good! It'll make my mom happy and being a famous rapper might help some of those students feel more comfortable with being here." His head was still filled with images of being a famous rapper before being a good ninja, but taking medicine more seriously was also in his purview.
"Thank you, Doc! I really appreciate you letting me help! I'll give you VIP tickets to the front row - any concert, you name it." He gave her a two-fingered salute before heading out. Once the hospital doors closed behind him, he threw a celebratory fist in the air. "YAHOO!!"
After the incident at the hotsprings, Alice found herself as a sleeping form within the hospital of Konohagakure. She herself was unaware that the situation had expanded much farther than the hot springs. However the village was not destroyed, she was here...everything seemed like it was here. She did well enough to know that. However unlike what one might expect, within her mind there was a bit of an issue. She didn't know what to do, what to say, who to trust anymore truly. She protected the village sure, but only after she was the one to throw it to doom. At least that was how she saw it, not only that but the existence inside of her was far from happy about it. The voice she had been hearing had already stopped. The others, she fought with them but they just left her...at least they did to her knowledge. Unaware of the assistance one of them had provided her. Was this just how life was in the shinobi world? An honorless string of action after action? Betrayal at it's finest? Where a fight didn't stop when you knew you won? Where you were meant to display every trick possible in order to move forwards? If so...she didn't know if she wanted to be part of a world like that. But would she choose to change it? Or would she choose to leave it? She had much to think about in her deep sleep, accompanied by the small tanuki like form that quietly and uncharacteristically sat in the corner of her mind.
Momotaro carefully carried the unconscious Kiku and the quivering Nimure down to the hospital. He made small talk with Moriyama while they traveled, but eventually the four of them made it to the ER. They werenโt the only ones from Takijinsei, but they were seen easily enough. Momotaro and Moriyama got minor bandages and treatment. Nimure did as well, but was also administered a shock blanket and a lollipop was placed in his hand. Kiku, however, had been taken away to her own room away from the three.

โฑโฐโฑAfter I was given the shock blanket and a red lollipop I was taken away to another room after I did not regain consciousness. When I woke up in the hospital with a jolt I stared around the empty room in a panic. The last thing I remember is Moriyama's kind and soothing voice when he found me in the forest. I realized at that moment that I went into catatonic shock after the events at the Falls. I removed the IV and rolled out of bed and poked my head into the hallway from the door. "s**t, s**t, s**t." My mind was going a mile a minute as I whispered under my breath. If I received a diagnosis from this hospital then these assholes might send me to a mental institution. I ran back into my room and changed clothes rapidly before crawling out of the window. I put my mask on my face once I was outside and put my hood over my face. As I walked down the side of the hospital I looked through another window and saw Kiku. With my identity more concealed, I opened her window and crawled in from outside. I took a seat in the hospital room and waited for her to regain consciousness. I continuously checked outside to make sure that no other doctors would come in and recognize me. In hindsight, I had no reason to be so worried but my paranoia was acting up again. I was also anxious to find out how Kiku's technique worked and if she was alright.

tab Within the halls of Konoha's hospital, Moriyama meandered his way around the building. While he had gotten out of their conflict relatively unscathed, two of the other members of his team, Kiku and Nimure, required extra attention. Thus, he was left to his own devices, keeping out of the way while the hospital staff did their thing. Of course, he still cared about the condition of his teammates so he made sure to stay in the area. He was confident that Nimure would recover from whatever shock he had experienced, but as far as Kiku was concerned, he didn't know what to expect. Most medical matters were already well outside his wheelhouse but dying and coming back to life as a puppet? He wouldn't have never even imagined anything possible. "The wonders of jutsu never cease to amaze." he thought aloud.
tab After some time had passed, Moriyama decided he had waited long enough for the doctor's to at least get a handle on Nimure's situation and set a course for his friend's room. However, upon arriving, he discovered the room to be empty, the only remaining signs that Nimure had been there being the blanket and hospital gown that had been supplied, now laying on the ground. "Huh? Guess they let him go already." Moriyama concluded. Though he did find it strange that he hadn't run into him in the hallway. It was possible that he had simply overlooked him in passing but with that mask of his, Nimure had always been pretty easy to pick out of a crowd. Still, lingering here did him no good so Moriyama chose to move on from the matting.
tab Turning his attention to his other teammate, Moriyama made his way to where they had put Kiku up. Up opening the door to the room, he quickly spotted Nimure seated on the far side by Kiku's bedside. "Oh? There you are, Nimure. Didn't see you in your room so I was wondering where you'd run off too. Should have known this is where'd you be." He then took note that Momotaro was also in the room, no doubt keeping an eye on the sleeping Kiku. "And, Momotaro's here too. Good. The gang's all here." he said with a friendly tone. He could sense the worry coming from the two boys so it looked like it was up to him to keep things lighthearted and optimistic, as usual.
tab Of course, this wasn't to say that Moriyama wasn't also worried. As much as Kiku gave him crap, she was still his teammate and his friend. Looking towards her, he let out a sigh. "As much as she needs her beauty sleep, this does still leave the matter or who's going to tell me everything I did wrong in that fight?" He then turned his attention towards Momotaro. "Don't suppose you wanna take a crack at it, eh big guy?" he chuckled.

By the time Nimure had snuck into Kikuโs room, Momotaro had already been seated at her side. His head was bowed as if in prayer and the white haired boy didnโt even notice the Aburame come in. Similarly, he didnโt even react when Moriyama walked in either. His body was tense, and his clasped hands were shaking as the knuckles were white. โHm?โ Finally when the red headed swordsman spoke, the Kaguyaโs attention finally came back to earth. He lifted his head and looked around at his teammates. Even as he laid eyes on them, it was apparent that his thoughts were elsewhere. โOh, no you did exemplary, both of you.โ He said quietly. He meant the words, but they were hollow of positive emotion. Momotaroโs eyes landed on Nimure. โAnd thank you, I know what Kiku asked of you wasnโt easy, but if it wasnโt for you she wouldnโt be here right now.โ Momotaro bowed his head deeply to the young medic. โI am forever in your debt.โ
The room was silent after that, aside from the beeping of the monitor attached to Kiku. It was able to track her heart rate as a pulsing chakra signature through straps on her arms. Even still, the machine read her physical pulse as a singular number: zero. There were notably no needles injected into her wooden and metallic body. But looking at her, it would seem that the girl was peacefully sleeping. โSheโd been working on this for a long time now, ever since she graduated from the Academy.โ Momotaro spoke, looking over his girlfriend with a look of gentle pride. โTruly, the amount of work that went into this project was astounding. I even helped with the fuuinjutsu side of things, since sheโs utterly hopeless at that stuff.โ The boy chuckled and shook his head, but he still looked lovingly at the puppeteer, gently taking his tiny hand in hers. โBut sheโd wanted this for a long time, so now she doesnโt need to keep up that transformation, like you two saw. Itโs aโฆ strange way to go about it, but this was what she wanted. No idea how to explain this to her family, though. They donโt even know sheโs a shinobi, let alone a girl.โ
โWow, I didnโt think theyโd send so many nurses to watch over me.โ Kikuโs voice made Momotaroโs head whirl around to look at her. The blonde was smiling pleasantly, if not tiredly, as she looked around to the three boys. Her eyes would shoot from one to the next, instead of sliding, moving more mechanically then they used to. โBut I donโt think weโve met. My nameโs Kiku.โ
โฑโฐโฑMy chin was in my hand as Mori walked into the room and spoke to me. My eyes were still glazed over from the aftereffects of delirious shock even as I looked up at Moriyama. "You did a good job, Mori. And...thanks for getting me out of there." I could barely remember it but I felt confident that it must have been the swordsman either way. It was all a blur visually but I could remember his voice. I suppose it became more of an auditory memory but at this time my brain was all scrambled on multiple levels. Hanging around Momotaro was also a recipe for making me feel on edge. There was much that was unsaid between him and me because it seemed that Kiku never told him about what happened at the warehouse. Staring at Kiku's unconscious marionette form was overwhelming on top of what Momotaro would say next. โI am forever in your debt.โ The moment he said that it echoed in my head as if he shouted in the middle of a cavern. I could hear the phrase over and over as deeply painful pangs of guilt struck at my heart. I felt nauseated again like I did back at the falls except I was too startled to faint now. BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ I kept hearing and feeling the vibrations of millions of kikaichu bombarding my brain on top of what Momotaro said. Momotaro's loving and devoted gaze on Kiku only compounded my guilt. Seeing Kiku's unconscious puppet body and remembering handling her organs began eating at me. I could feel my swarm devouring me from the inside now as my hands shook. It felt like hours passed in only the second between when Momotaro spoke and the response I gave. "Stop it, Momotaro! Stop talking to me like that!" I shouted violently as my uncontrollable psychotic outburst presented itself as plain rage. I could feel my soul leaving my body as I imagined myself saying these things. It was like an itch that I just had to scratch and I had lost all control. "I saved her life because I love her! You're not in debt to me because I don't care about you! I kissed her when we were on a mission a few weeks ago and she chose you over me! I did that on purpose so stop trying to be my friend! Just go ahead and hate me already!" Every ounce of tension that I felt between Momotaro and I erupted all at once. It felt like there was a version of me who was speaking and another version who was imprisoned and forced to watch. The fluorescent light coupled with the auditory hallucinations of the swarm began to intensify after my yelling fit. I lost my footing and was forced to wrap an arm around Moriyama's shoulder to keep my balance. And then, when Kiku woke up and came to by demonstrating her amnesia my guilt overwhelmed me as I realized what I had done. The gravity of all this was hitting me as I held on tightly to Moriyama. I'm such a ******** idiot spilling all that on this guy while his girlfriend's in the hospital. If her amnesia's permanent then she'll never be able to tell him herself. This was her business. I'm such a ******** up. My self-loathing took control as I felt two tears roll down my cheeks. I shook my head to dismiss these tears and feelings but to little avail. "And I'm...a real piece of s**t." The first part of my statement made it sound like I was genuinely introducing myself but the second part was mumbled to where only Moriyama could easily hear me.

tab Moriyama was a bit bummed that Momotaro didn't seem to want to play along with his little joke but he couldn't say he was surprised. As long as Moriyama had known him, Momotaro had never quite been the joking type, always playing things straight forward. In the guys defense, this was perhaps not the best time to be fooling around, what with Kiku still unconscious and all. At least his response to Moriyama, while not funny, did seem genuinely heartfelt. Nimure even chimed in to thank him for all that he'd done. "Ah come on guys. You're gonna make me blush." Moriyama chuckled, waving his hand in front of him as if he could swat away their words.
tab After this, silence fell upon the room, the only sound being the rhythmic beeping of Kiku's monitor. As someone whose mind was in constant motion, silence tended to make Moriyama uncomfortable, like had to do or say something to fill the void. Given their current setting though, he was a bit hesitant, not wanting to say something that might upset his more sensitive teammates. Thankfully, Momotaro was the first one to break the silence, sharing with them the details that had gone into Kiku's puppet body. From what he described, the project was quite the ordeal to perform. As a fellow crafter, Moriyama knew all to well how much time and effort could go into a project of this magnitude. "Ah jeez. And to think all I've made since graduation is a bunch of swords." he said, still doing his best to keep an upbeat note in the room.
tab Unfortunately, no amount of pluck could combat what came next. Suddenly, Nimure erupted, screaming about his love for Kiku and his disdain for Momotaro. Clearly this was something the guy had been holding in for a long time and everything that happened during the fight must have pushed him to his breaking point. At the end of the outburst, Moriyama could see Nimure begin to stumble and positioned himself to act as a crutch for his friend. "Woah there, buddy. I've got you." Moriyama reassured his friend, giving him a light pat so he knew he was there. Of course, this did put him in a bit of an awkward position with Momotaro. Personally, Moriyama didn't have anything against the guy but between the two of them, he was far closer to Nimure. Even if he was perhaps out of line, he was also clearly in a very heightened emotional state so Moriyama didn't want to say anything that might further upset him. 'Ah man. How could this get any worse." he thought. And then he heard her. Kiku had awoken.
tab Looking in her direction, at first Moriyama thought she was pulling a prank on them, pretending to have amnesia. "Ah. Finally. Glad someone else here with a sense of humor. Good one, Kiku." Moriyama said, breathing a small sigh of relief before allowing himself to truly laugh. However, as his laughter died down, the genuine look of confusion on Kiku's face told him that this was no joke. She was serious. "Wait. You seriously don't remember us?" he asked her, just to make absolutely sure this wasn't some elaborate joke.
tab Between Kiku's missing memory and Nimure's rapid spiral of self-loathing, it was hard for Moriyama to know what to do. However, given the tension that had formally encapsulated the room, he knew that he had to say something to keeping things from getting any further out of hand. And so, Moriyama went to work. "Right. Of course you don't remember us. You were out cold when we brought you in." he began to explain, deciding it was best to simply play in her amnesia rather than trying to fight it. "Well Kiku. I'm Moriyama. This here is Nimure. And that guy over there is Momotaro. There. Now we all know each other." he explained, gesturing to each of the other males as he introduced them. "So, Mrs. Kiku, tell us. What's the last thing you can remember before waking up?" he asked. If she thought they were nurses, why not play into that role. Of course, they probably needed an actual medical professional to give her a proper assessment but with Nimure slumped over him as he was, Moriyama wasn't exactly in a position to go get said professional. "Oh and nurse Momotaro, can you please go let the doctor know that Mrs. Kiku has woken up? Please?" Moriyama asked, keeping a straight tone but his eyes were practically begging Momotaro. For once, he needed the guy to play along.

Kiku blinked and looked around the room. The air was tense between the three oddly dressed nurses. Did something happen while she was asleep? The girl looked down to see the boy sitting next to her holding her hand. Kiku must have still been waking up, as she hadnโt registered that someone was touching her. The girl gently removed her hand from that of the white haired boy, folding it over her lap. โโMrs. Kiku?โโ She asked with a light hearted laugh. โAm I in such bad shape that I look old enough to be married?โ Kiku was doing her best to memorize the names with the faces of the nurses. The chatty one, Moriyama, was easy as he was the most engaged. The boy next to her that had been holding her hand, Momotaro she guessed, didnโt seem to be too thrilled. The last one, Nimure, wasnโt looking too hot as he leaned against Moriyama.
Her heart went out to those two, as Kiku was sure being a nurse was a rough job. She hadnโt noticed initially, but the blonde girl found herself holding Momotaroโs hand once again. It was like her body had moved on her own. This time he removed his hand as he was addressed. โHm?โ He looked up before registering what was said. โYeah, sure. Iโll go do that right now actually.โ His words felt disconnected and hollow as he rose to his feet. The Kaguya fighter took a few steps, standing close to Nimure with his back turned to Kiku. โWe can fight about this later if itโll make you feel better.โ Momotaro whispered, only loud enough for the Aburame and the swordsman to hear. โBut if you love her, then pull yourself together. Sheโll need all the help she can get.โ As he spoke, his words sounded like he was talking to himself just as much as Nimure. He sent one last look over his shoulder at Kiku before leaving the room.
โWow, Iโve never seen a statue move so quickly.โ Kiku tried to lighten the tension in the room. โIs he gonna be okay?โ It was a few seconds after, but she finally remembered Moriyamaโs question. โOh! And, uhโฆ Iโm not sure actually.โ Kiku shifted her gaze up while she tried to think. โItโs hard to focus on anything. Itโs like all of my memories are rushing by in a cloudy river. Or something, theyโre super unclear.โ She sighed. โIs thereโฆ anything you can tell me?โ
โฑโฐโฑI already felt guilty for what I did and the situation at hand was making it even worse. At least I had Moriyama supporting me so far. Misery loves company, I suppose. As well, Moriyama appeared to be handling the amnesia rather well. My head was still spinning as I tried to figure out what this all really meant. I leaned away from Moriyama as I got my footing back. I rubbed my eyes and adjusted my mask just to get myself in some state of normalcy. Momotaro's measured response in responding to me was not quite what I expected or even desired. I am not sure what I wanted but at the very least it was good that we finally understood each other. "I need to get some space before I have another outburst." There was regret in my voice at the prospect of abandoning Kiku in this time of need but I saw little else that I could do to help. I was completely overwhelmed and despite my desire to remain here I did not want to risk causing even more trouble. I turned around and left the hospital to get some fresh air before I looked at my watch and realized that it was time for my appointment at the Hokage's office.

Class Information First Class: Medical โฑโฐโฑ Maladies Physician โ Shinobi of this discipline are experts in iryojutsu and are especially well-versed in afflictions. Their medical techniques cure all symptoms of status effects applied to the user, rather than where most of the techniques cure them one at a time. In addition, medical techniques which inflict a status may inflict three different applications of the status, rather than just one. The user's crafted poisons also carry this property. The shinobi also obtains 5 custom techniques for medical ninjutsu as well as a Medical Ninjutsu Keystone technique. Refer to the Keystone Guideline for more information. tab Moriyama laughed at Kiku's initial reaction to his inquiry as to what her last memory was. "Oh? So you're saying you're single? Noted." he replied with a cheeky grin. In hindsight, this joke was probably in poor taste, given the storm brewing between Nimure and Momotaro, but the set up was just too good to pass up. Thankfully, Momotaro had already left the room at that point and he was confident that Nimure would forgive him if he misspoke. At least, that was his hope.
tab Much too his surprise, upon Momotaro's departure, Kiku actually offered a clever little quip. 'So new Kiku's got jokes now, eh?' he thought, a small sparkle in his eyes. "Oh him? He'll be fine. Statue's have notoriously thick skin." he fired back with a quip of his own. Not long after this, Nimure took his leave as well. "Sure thing, man. You put in a good shift today. Go get some rest." he called out as he watched his friend exit the room. With that, it was just himself and Kiku left. Under normal circumstances, this would have been one of Moriyama's worst nightmares. However, new Kiku seemed to have upgraded her sense of humor and Moriyama to have some fun while he could.
tab"What can I tell you? Hmmmmm. Let's see." This was a somewhat difficult question. While Moriyama didn't want to necessarily lie to Kiku, he wasn't quite sure if she if she was ready for the exact truth. "Oh yeah, Kiku. You totally bit the big one in battle and then Nimure put you in a puppet body." Somehow, that just seemed a bit too shocking. And so, it was up to him to put his epic bullshitting storytelling to the test. "Well, I suppose I should start by coming clean with you Kiku. Myself and the two other charming gentlemen that were with me are not nurses. We're actually shinobi here in the village and, more specifically, your teammates." he began as he made his was over to the chair next to Kiku's bed. If he was going to be spinning a yarn, he might as well make himself comfortable. "And, as shinobi teams often do, we periodically go out on missions, as we did earlier today, where we found ourselves engaged in combat with a rather nasty indvidual."
tab Moriyama paused. Now came the difficult part. How to explain to Kiku how she died and came back to life. "Now, this was a particularly tough individual and during the fight, you had a bit of an "out of body experience", and while you recovered and we did win the battle, this is what ultimately required us to bring you here once everything was said and done, since you collapsed." While this wasn't the most detailed description of what happened, he felt he hit all the key points. Well, all but one, that is. "Now, tell me Kiku. Do you feel anything different about yourself or out of the ordinary perhaps?" he asked. Not knowing the exact extent of Kiku's memory loss, he wanted to know if she even recognized the fact that she was now in a puppet body before bringing it up himself.
Mimiru Tetsunami reported to the Hospital in Konohagakure to do her basic internship before graduation. As a Medical Kunoichi in training, it was expected of her to assist with the day to day operations as well as shadow the actual staff to get a better grasp of her future career. As she followed the various nurses around and shadowed them tending to patients in their care, she was tasked with assisting with changing bandages and learning the basic first-aid skills used on injuries sustained in combat, and those post-operation. The first round of patients were rather pleased to see a fresh face learning on the job, and Mimi wasn't bad to look at either.

Using the skill she had learned in the Academy, Mimiru got to practice the Diagnosis technique on a few patients who were just incoming and had been deemed in non-life threatening condition. She kept her chakra flow careful and steady, so that in the eyes of those supervising her internship at the hospital, they would have no complaints. Most of the treatments she had to recommend were simple bandages for minor cuts and scrapes, and the occasional burn sustained by one individual who had a mishap during fire jutsu training. Being able to operate in triage and preparation was going to be essential for helping more accomplished medical ninja in expediting needed surgery and cures.

She had endured most of the day in triage with little difficulty. Mimiru moving from diagnosing patients to preparing bandages now for a more serious injury. Sometimes sparring matches got a little out of hand, and in this case, a shuriken had gotten lodged in the internal portions of the patient's torso. While, not immediately life threatening, infection and trauma were soon to take their toll. At the side of a fully fledged medical ninja, she observed and assisted with the weapon's removal. The stitching and healing after was not particularly pleasant to watch, but even with iryojutsu, mundane practices were still needed in these cases. She then assisted with moving the patient into post-operation treatment so they could rest and recover.

The next patient she assisted with came in complaining of severe stomach aches. It could have been anything, but no matter how minor a malady, assisting those in need was part of the expectations of her future career. Upon applying the diagnosis skill, Mimiru carefully analyzed their gastrointestinal system. She sighed softly as the source had become clear, indigestion. It was a little more severe than a mild case, but it seemed to be the result of overeating. She then stepped back as the medical shinobi overseeing her internship took charge of the treatment by prescribing some medicine to alleviate the patient's pain.

The last case she was set to oversee was in the actual emergency room. A shinobi had a mishap while crafting a poison gas grenade and the staff were rushing to treat them. It seemed that they had suffered shrapnel injuries from the blast as well as were suffering from a minor poison that still needed an antidote. Mimiru assisted with the treatment by applying the bandages to the cleaned wounds, and by taking notes on how they purged the man's system of the toxin using an iryojutsu technique for toxin nullification. It was a rather fast paced environment in the Emergency Ward, and decisive action was something she would have to get used to taking if she were to work in there. Though, after the patient was stabalized and moved into Post Operation to rest and recover, Mimiru departed with the knowledge and credits for her internship...ready for graduation into the ranks of the Village.
