At first the difference wasn't really noticable, but he could feel a tingling sensation replacing the light sting that had been present since he'd woken up. When the change was starting to become more obvious, Yui took a moment to rest and write him a note. He read it quickly before she set the notebook down and set back to her task. "I can't wait to see it. You're gonna need all those arms to keep up with me during our next training session." Himi grinned at her again as he teased her. Yui seemed to respond with an increase with chakra to her technique, causing the tingling sensation to escalate and tickle him slightly. He laughed and squirmed slightly without disrupting her work. "Seriously though, I'm glad to see you've been working hard while I was away. It really shows, Yui!" He glanced at her once again, but was suddenly less confident that she'd even really heard him. An intense look of focus had taken her over, her brow furrowed with effort. Himi's natural sensory finally registered to him and made aware of the volume of chakra Yui was pumping out at once. "Whoa, hey, I know you've come a long-"

Yui's chakra surged and overwhelmed Himi's senses for an instant, sending her tumbling and Himi dazed for a second. Himi looked around quickly and found Yui slumped on the floor. "Yui? You okay? YUI?" He spoke loudly, not nearly a yell, and began swinging his legs from the bed to stand. Before his legs were even free from the sheets though, a dark-haired woman entered the room and swiftly introduced herself. Her confidence put him at ease regarding Yui, so he simply stayed put and sat quietly in confusion as she approached his friend. before she seemed to even do anything however, Yui popped back into the present and grabbed her notebook. She scribbled her message and he read it quickly, astounded at her response.
"You're- What do- You just..." He sighed. "I know you're tough Yui, but please be careful with healing stuff. And definitely don't go hurting yourself to fix me up, alright?" Himi turned to thank the doctor for turning up so quickly, but hesitated when he noticed she seemed as shocked as he'd just been. Dr. Crea expressed her astonishment at Yui's recovery, but her mention of the chakra amount didn't seem too strange to the boy. "Oh, well, that was a lot at once, but in general that's not a ton for Yui; she's pretty much filled to the brim with chakra. As for her form, I mean... she's as smart as she is juiced." The doctor took a moment to apparently check his claims, while Himi adjusted his position in bed. Apparently satisfied with her checks, Dr. Crea spoke with Yui for a moment and handed her a card. Himi leaned to the side and gave Yui a thumbs-up behind the doctor's back as she offered the young girl lessons. A moment later she was on her way out, stopping briefly to mention his demon. A smug scoff echoed in the Uchiha's head, and he groaned audibly. Himi responded frantically as the doctor began to slip around the corner. "Please do not inflate the cat's ego!" He called out, unsure if she'd heard him. A sigh escaped him as he shook his head to himself, annoyed Matatabi had clearly caught the compliment. Remembering that the insufferable cat's commentary was isolated to just him, Himi spoke up. "Uh, sorry, not you, Yui. The cat's just kind of a jerk." A snarl echoed through Himi's head as he gestured to it. "Oh, uh, yeah... I guess I never really explained that, did I? The whole... Uh... Well where I've been, huh?"

Yui would look almost frightened that she had made Himitsu worry, the small medic frowning to herself while quietly fussing by his bedside. She scribbled on her notepad again and showed it to him with an anxious brow. " I'm sorry for worrying you, Himi. I just wanted to help. " she looked down some in shame while Dr. Crea watched on from afar. Her arms were crossed and looked somewhat sympathetic to Yui's plight but would hide it away as that stern look went back to her usual stoic self and went onto checking the child for any anomalies health wise. When given the clear bill of health, Yui was back up to her old self once more. She looked over at the stitching as a smiled graced her face. Pointing at the now healed up wound, the girl would write down a little note to Himitsu. " But look down! your wound's pretty much healed up! " As if on queue, Himitsu's stitches would be holding a better healed wound, although bearing a slight scar from where Yui had healed him from. With a slight movement, Yui's finger would playfully raise her finger up and past the tip of Himitsu's nose. A silent snicker left Yui's lips while the next note was not soon after. " Looks like you're back up on your feet again, or at least better than what you were! C: "

Himitsu read Yui's notes and shook his head slowly. "Just... Careful not to overdo it, okay?" As he began to look through the room for his clothing, he started catching Yui up on his adventures.

He defended himself and toassed his hands up betwwen cupboard searches, certain he'd hear the scratching of paper in less than a second if he didn't. "So whiile I was resting, I did some reading, which turned into research, whiiiiich eventually turend into a scholastic expedition when I was off bed-rest. Okay, really, where did they hide my stuff...?" He stood silently for a moment before shaking his head and continuing. "Hmm, uhh yeah, so I got to take a trip north with the Hokage to look for a hidden mountain. Honestly I didn't really think it could be real, since all my research was from old myths and stuff, but we found it, hidden inside some kind of weird foggy forest, genjutsu sort of thing. That's where I got that big-a** scroll. I'm sort of the Human-Bear ambassador now, which is... Well a thing I guess."
One of the few remaining cabinets in the room opened to rerveal Himitsu's clothing and gear. He gave a silent fist pump before starting to pull things out. "After we left the mountain though, we stumbled across a massive fight in the Earth Country. A handful of nutjobs were trying to capture the Two Tailed Demon, and were on the verge of winning if I had to guess. A snarl ripped through his mind, but Himi just closed his eyes and paused for a second so hopefully Yui wouldn't notice. "Sadayo and I agreed we couldn't let the chance to take control of a bijuu pass by, so we intervened. Killed the cultists, and sealed the demon. Iiiiin me... Yay." The Uchiha let out a sigh and paused again, having put his pants and jacket on over the hospital scrubs they'd put him in. "Guess it's not all bad, right? I might've been worse off without it, I guess. Hmmm. Uhhh, anyway, you ready to ditch this place? I don't wanna wait around for them to accidentally give me another superpower." Himi gave a slight smile, tryingg to lighten the mood from his obvious sour disposition toward the sealing.

It seemed her gambit of just pouring as much medically infused chakra into Himitsu had paid off! The boy was standing up and ready out of bed, with the boy standing up in full with very little damage or scars to show from. This improved the quiet girl's mood considerably, while she sat on the bed he had been on and was roaming around the room in search of his belongings. Yui was appreciative of his kind remarks regarding her level of skill, a nice boost to her confidence levels. Now all she needed to do was to not making a pop like that again! The Uchiha regaled her about his research he had while injured out on the job. A regular occurrence it was shaping up to be. But as he continued along the path, a chance discovery of a strange land made of bears had led to him becoming an ambassador...an am-bear-ssador! How could Yui resist? The puns were just too much for her to handle. She snickered quietly to herself while Himitsu would eventually find his lost belongings and continue on with the story. The second act was a lot more exciting than the first! So not only had her (arguably only) friend in the world managed to befriend bears everywhere, but even got a demon inside of him. The girl's lips parted in amazement, gasping at what Himitsu had gotten into ever since their last meeting! With his tale done, the child went to her notepad again to respond in full.

Two Weeks after Isao's attack on Konoha Kuma currently has multiple shattered bones throughout his body, massive internal damage, and numerous lacerations due to being hit by Shukaku's wave of sand. By this point, medical shinobi have healed the worst of his injuries. He has been comatose until now.
It was quiet. Too quiet. Something about the lack of even a dull breeze made the total darkness Kuma was floating in feel unsettling. It was the kind of quiet that would cause one's ears to fill with the sound of pumping blood, but even that failed to stimulate his hearing. He was but a lonely speck drifting in an endless sea of silent shadow. Thenโฆ he wasnโt.
It started with a single blinding flash. Then another. As the second one faded, he noticed a tint of reddish orange in the light. By the fifth burst of light, he realized they were explosions going off all around him. Even though he knew they were only phantasms, a chill crept into his spine, causing his whole body to stiffen with fear.
More images bled into the orange flashes. Grotesque, vile images. Pictures of carnage being unleashed against faces that felt familiar. He remembered no names, but something about them tugged on threads of memory that he didnโt know was there.
In the distance, a pair of glowing eyes opened. Red, burning with desire. Whatever shade they belonged to inched closer. As they did, the images grew more frequent, more violent. Then the images began to move, no longer confined to being still frames of disaster.
One scene persisted longer than the rest. It was slow moving. A man and woman lowering a baby into a basket and pushing it down a river, a tearful goodbye. A fire on the horizon, and silhouettes of a massacre. A hooded figure clad in blue and white crept up on the couple from behind.
โNo, wait..โ
A curved blade was drawn from a scabbard as they turned to face their assailant. There was no sound, but he could feel the echoes of a haunting scream.

The sword connected with the couple, blood flew through the air.
โSTOP IT!!โ
The image evaporated into a plume of smoke as the blood red eyes rushed through the space it occupied, rapidly closing in on Kuma.
He awoke in a cold sweat, gasping for air, unaware of his surroundings. The nightmare had ended, but it was deeply etched into his mind now. It wasnโt the first of its kind, and he knew it wouldnโt be the last. Kuma used to wonder why his dreams often contained unimaginable violence, but by now he was used to it. It didnโt make them any less painful or traumatizing.
As he worked to control his breathing, he felt pain. All over, fully encompassing pain. A weak groan escaped his lips as he struggled trying to sit up, giving up and falling back to the bed halfway through.
โOh, right.... The market,โ he said hoarsely, seeming to regain an awareness of recent events. Through the pain, he could feel the multitude of bandages wrapped around his body. There was very little exposed skin, mostly around his neck and face. He reached over with his left arm and grasped the empty air where his right was supposed to be. His face contorted with a sorrowful expression. โs**t.โ

Off and on, she dealt with her own issues. They were added bonuses that did little to buffer the brunt from what happened overall. Costs and labor for clean-up efforts on both the administration offices and the popular shopping districts all required a lot of her attention. When so much and so many suffered, Sadayo assumed it would have been inappropriate if she turned her head from it for a selfish reason.
A gentle noise would meet the door. A member of the hospital staff, the boy would unlikely recognize them as cleanly dressed nurse was making an appearance between the wedge of the opening door. โOh? My word. Heโs awake.โIt was a gentle voice that resounded relief and pivoted toward his direction.โKuma, may we come in for a few minutes? You have a visitor.โ
As he laid in the quiet room, Kuma couldn't help but replay the memory of the marketplace attack on repeat in his mind. He scrutinized every detail that he could recall. The attacker was a crazed man who dressed like a monk, but that much was obvious. Some of the jonin that were there seemed to have a decent idea of who the man was, but all Kuma knew was that he was a Jashinist. If they had encountered him before, and he was still walking free, then how strong was that guy? A scary thought forced its way into his mind.
โฆ Did they see the height of his power, or was he holding back?
He swallowed the lump that formed in his throat and used his left hand to gently rub the stump where his dominant arm used to be. There was no use thinking like that. Surely the higher ups had a better idea of what the Jashinists were capable of. Any information he may or may not glean from his recollection of events would hardly be worth a debriefing. He needed to turn his thoughts away from shinobi life. Instead he needed to put his energy towards learning a trade. Maybe he could become a gardener, or a teacher's aid.
His inner turmoil aside, he was glad to be alive. That was no small blessing, and it did indeed warrant more appreciation from the young boy. A deep breath in, held for a few moments, then exhaled. See, it wasn't all bad. He turned his attention to the door when he heard one of the nurses speak, asking to bring a visitor.
He parted his lips to speak, but stopped himself before the words came out, letting his head drop slightly, snow white hair bobbed and settled, obscuring the nurses view of his face. His gaze shifted from the doorway to the baseboard near the closest corner of the room. Kuma's knee-jerk reaction to the idea of someone seeing him like this was to swiftly deny the request. Why add the humiliation of someone seeing him in such a sorry state to his physical distress? He was still grappling with the idea of living with only one arm, and they want to further embarrass him by bringing someone in to witness the sorry state he was in?
No, that line of thinking wasn't fair of him, nor was he being honest with himself. The truth of the matter was that he was still holding onto a small hope that this wasn't real. That at any moment he would wake up to see this was all a bad dream, or whatever genjutsu that was causing this would break soon. Accepting the visitor would mean that there was no bad dream to wake up from. Personal feelings aside, he has to accept that this was his reality. There was no amount of hoping or wishing that would change that. The best way to move forward was to rip the proverbial bandage off. Kuma took a breath and nodded quietly to the nurse.
โYeah, bring them in.โ

It was here that the nurse stepped aside to offer passage to Kumaโs guest. Someone, maybe, he would have not wanted to see?
With approach, one, downy mass of dark brown hair trailed behind in a gentle waft at the guest's elbows. This was not the norm. No hanging sleeves, cape, nor lengthy black gloves. Sadayo came with less of a meticulous look than some might expect when one sees their stone faced leader. Her lips were still striped with yellow, eyelids powdered with black, and a yellow stroke of paint Light gave a subtle trace of something soft encircling her eyes (which might have also softened her less than stony disposition, for the better). A corner of her mouth curled then curtailed as she opened a conversation. Something on an optimistic note. โHave a good rest? I heard youโve been asleep for a little bit.โ In Sadayoโs left hand was very much something one might akin to a doctorโs bag that hung from her palm as she paused to collect and flip over papers attached to a clipboard. Her attention to Kuma's hardcopy chart wavered upon a brief glance and she set it on a nearby table.
At his bedside, the fluffy haired figure cupped her fingers together. This is a child- rather someone still on the cusp of immaturity- aching within the confines of a traumatic injury. While she could not rightfully speak to him as if he were her own... she could try to make the surprise visit seem like something unofficial. โHow do you feel?โ
Of all the people who could have graced him with their presence in this medical center, the person who stepped through that door was the last person he would have ever expected. She may not have come in the attire one would normally find her in, but there was no mistaking the Hokage for anyone else. Kuma shot up into a stiff sitting position before leaning as far forward as he could manage, the best form of bow he could offer in respect.
โLady H-Hokage! Good morning.. Or, a-afternoon maybe. Iโm not really sure what the time is. Asleep? Y-Yes, I suppose I was,โ he stuttered out, frantically stitching a greeting to the front of his reply. โOh no! Was I out for too long? Iโll get better quickly I swear! Look at me; sitting here looking a mess while thereโs work to do.โ It was clearly a facade, but there was a hint of truth in there. He would very much have preferred to be out in the village, helping with the cleanup in the aftermath of the Jashinistโs attack, but his desires were overshadowed by his current handicap. โI feel great! They took good care of me, so now Iโm in tip-top-shape!โ
As he moved from his bow back to a sitting position, a tinge of pain flashed across his face. He looked away sheepishly, hoping the Hokage hadnโt seen. โDid they get him? And what happened with that monster he summoned?โ

Her cupped fingers fidget. It may have read as normal behavior. It was, mostly. You want to look your best. You want praise and approval. To be useful. Little notions covertly wriggling in from history and weaving between careful replies Sadayo had to inwardly stack into vague truth. Did they get him? Did they get them? His hope begins to converge images in her head building up one shadowy threat in her thoughts. The little monk in memory was looking almost inconsequential. Was it the beast who hurt the boy? Did the monk also rip and tear a lasting wound into another she felt responsible for? A child sat in front of her and displayed one of her greatest fears. It could have been worse for her, maybe. Sadayo blacked out at the end of the devastation and, also, woke up in a mildly unfamiliar place that wasn't where she fell.
With a sigh, Sadayo announced the outstanding truth, โheโs gone.โ Her yellow sights set onto his face as she shrugged her shoulder. โHe slipped in and out faster than I could have imagined.โ Her sights drifted up, across the room, before drifting back down as she spoke. โWe suspect he lost his ambition when the beast was banished.โ Then, accordingly, her attention returned to the boy. โWhich is in your favor,โ she steered the topic away from the earlier turmoil. A slow, curling smile warming the statement: โyou get a well earned rest. We have trained eyes fixed on the village right now, just in case.โ Sadayo opened her hands and extended her palms. โMay I see your injury?โ
