One can either win by rendering the opponent unconscious or having the target touch the ground in the Out of Bunds area which is 20 feet extending from the borders of the arena. Naturally, competitors can concede and surrender. If thrown into the air a barrier will prevent an individual from flying out the arena but will result in an impact equivalent to hitting an impenetrable wall.

Avalanche grimaced when they heard themselves be referred to as the maiden of mystery. It didn't truly offend them on a gender aspect since that was to be expected from most people. No, what truly bothered them was the fact that this speaker implied that they were some damsel in distress! Avalanche was the hero of this story, not the damsel. And because of that, Avalanche took to the center of the massive field, stopping only ten feet from the dead center of the arena. Their body leaned toward the right as their right as their right hand rested on the sword holstered in their waist. Glistening blue eyes shimmered behind the mask which they wore as they scanned for the upcoming opponent. Whether they were ready for it or not, justice was coming.

Jeha Oni meditating in the arena, she has done this for awhile and she has taken this upon herself as a warrior to meditate for her upcoming battle. She then hears the announcement of her opponent entering the ring which she slowly stands up to her crazy height as she would turn to her opponent. Of course, Jeha Oni gives off the presence of a warrior due to her Oni and Hoshigaki blood, thrives on combat and uses her nose to sniff out her wounded targets. Jeha says no word as she would not glare in a bad way but in the way of a warrior, a warrior waiting for the battle to rise and come upon her. Of course she isn't the type to talk before a battle, there is no point in chatter if it can cost her tactical mind or her focus as well with the opponent at hand. Talking should be saved after the battle as to her she will have to hold back after all, she can't go too serious or she possibly may put her opponent in danger. Jeha Oni draws out a Kunai but doesn't throw it as she takes a stance, the kind that references to her Personal Knife Combat style. Jeha simply waits for her opponent to make the first move or waiting for the bell to ring first.

The moment that Jeda's glare fell on Avalanche, the opponent would find herself staring down the warrior, who seemingly moved in a blur to cover the distance between themselves and her. Their sword was drawn and their strike was diagonally aimed to slice up toward the right. Both hands gripped the blade as Avalanche aimed to finished the fight in one swing. Of course, if Jeda tried to dodge the technique, she would find it much harder to do than anticipated. This was because Avalanche, while moving to close in the distance, was not blurring at the same movements she appeared so. Instead, the eye contact the two shared allowed them to trigger a genjutsu, which drastically reduced the reaction time of their opponent. It would be in Jeda's best interest to block the hit rather than try to dodge it. Then again, it was her funeral.

Jeha Oni notices some weird stuff going on, all a sudden they were glaring at each other prepared for combat but quickly appearing up to her in a blur going in for a slash. At this point it would be reasonable to block her opponent due to the hardened body she has but she doesn't want to let that on just quite yet. Instead she quickly forms hand signs for Water Style: Bursting Water Collision Waves, beginning to ride on waves as she charges towards Attempting to hit Avalanche and on top of it, just in case, she then does hand signs for Water Style Serpent Mouth. Summons up three water serpents of water which come clashing down on Avalanche attempting to follow towards her opponent and slam them down with hard water force. Jeha after doing her two attacks, she jumps off the waves and proceeds to do more hand signs for Water Style: Hidden Mist Jutsu summoning forth a mist hiding her presence from physical sight and is capable of seeing through the mist due to using it so many times. Jeha prefers to end this fight pretty quickly which within the time frame of her Hidden Mist jutsu either she can get her target knocked out of the ring or put them out of commission, unable to continue the battle.

After forming the needed hand seals, Kisame will expel water from his gullet. This will then expand into a large volume of water. Being from the Water Country, Kisame is at home with this type of Jutsu. He can control the water by riding on top of the waves. This is a water creation technique, and produces enough water to fill a large pond. The water can be further manipulated through Formless Ninjutsu or other Suiton techniques.

When within a fog or mist, the user must use D-Rank chakra during the first post of use followed by half its cost as upkeep, this allows the user to see through all mist or steam as long as this is active regardless of rank. Thanks to Avalanche's genjutsu, the masked warrior was well aware that their opponent planned to counter their sword with ninjutsu. It was for that reason that Avalanche stopped in their tracks and released one hand from their sword. The hand extended over their head as ice chakra was molded into it. When the water attack was fired at them, Avalanche threw their hand down. Ice and snow compacted around them and molded them into a fifty foot abominable snowman. The creature was knocked back by the force of the spontaneous water, but remained in tact as the water settled. It was then that the serpents rose from the water and collided into the being. As the giant snakes collided the snowman collapsed into heaps of ice, and the snakes ran out of power in conjunction. It was then that Avalanche leaped out of the falling creature and rose like the hero they were. Their body was now coated in a thin layer of ice as the fight heated up.
Upon falling to the water the masked warrior extended their open palm towards the newly materialized pool. Ice manifested and froze the entirety of the dormant water. Avalanche slid slightly as she landed, but the heels of her boots allowed her to gain the traction she needed. It was then that a mist manifested around them, attempting to mask their vision. Avalanche sighed as they rose their sword with one hand, holding it in a fencer's stance in front of them. "You're stalling time. And that's something I don't have." The hero shouted in a gruff voice as their free hand rose above their head once more. Snow clouds manifested as a cyclone crashed down on the arena. Avalanche dug their sword into the ice to keep from flying into it while the winds did away with the mist and attempted to drag anyone else into their depth.

_β Embrace of the Abominable Arctic Beast: A ____β The user forms a string of hand signs, having a vortex of snow and ice tightly pact against their body, creating a terror composed of ice. The user is capable of creating any form they imagine that is completely composed of ice and snow. This creature is capable of growing to fifty feet in size upon creation. This form is capable of formless hard physical strikes once per post for no activation as long as they do not exceed A rank in power. If the user is of the Icereaper talent they are capable of utilizing Taijutsu along with their DR. If user is of the Deep Freeze talent, then the user's ice techniques may be freely used within this form and may come from the body itself. _β Ice Release: B ____β The act of combining wind and water chakra in order to generate water-composed ice and snow. This method can be performed on existing bodies of water, or by manipulating the minute amount of water molecules in the air, either way, it is an impressive and powerful feat that requires only a single hand. Ice created this way lays dormant as they they are not attacks on their own. Any interactions with this ice treats this ability as [ simple ] in strength unaffected by DR. _β Winter's Howl: B ____β The user holds a single hand sign, creating a frosted clouds that are spread over a ten foot area for three posts and an additional post per rank applied after C rank. The user is able to manipulate these clouds into a cyclone that is five feet in width and twenty feet in height per rank. While spinning, the cyclone gives off a haunting howl that gives the technique it's name. For the duration of this technique, the user is able to manipulate the cyclone for no activation after it's initial post. Those who spend at least a single post in the cyclone and are not HyΕton will be frozen soild, requiring an equal strength expelling of chakra to escape. _β Vortex of the Northwinds: B ____β The user casts this technique optionally with the Winter's Howl Technique for no activation. By doing so, the user creates either a knock back effect to those contacting the vortex of ten feet per rank of this technique, or may create a suction effect to pull everything into the cyclone. This suction effect only determines the strength of the pull and colliding techniques will only deal their damage to the cyclone itself.
Jeha notices how Avalanche counteracted with Ice Style, one of the rare bloodlines she hasn't seen just quite yet but this at this point with a vortex appearing very close to her. It seems to have a pull, its trying to suck her in to another location in the arena, very strong indeed. She uses her hind legs to kick her away but towards Avalanche stomping her feet into the ice as she quickly is thinking what to do. Could she use the Vortex to her advantage for one of her jutsu? If so, then most likely it will spread across the arena no doubt. With the rotation its doing, it should be able to spread her jutsu very quickly then again there is also vapor in the air as well. This is perfect, it is a tricky jutsu but it shall do. Jeha then quickly starts swishing chakra in her mouth forming Sake but instead of it being a normal Sake Mist, the chakra goes towards the clouds turning them darker and using the water vapor to rain down what appears to be sake. It causes no damage of the sort but any enemy that gets touched by this jutsu will end up getting drunk potentially and slowing down their movements. Then she quickly moves towards Avalanche and within fifteen feet of her, she does a sharp whine sound attempting to slow down her movements even further by causing disorientation making it harder for Avalanche to react against Jeha's attacks. Attacking the user directly with slowing down their movements could potentially help her win this fight and forcing Avalanche to submit and surrender the match. With that, she uses another technique by her Hoshigaki clan, The Deep Blue Technique. Its her very own Vortex technique, out from her gullet, fires a water cannonball towards Avalanche and with a single hand sign, detonates the Cannonball causing it scatter and cause a vortex around them. Of course its spread out twenty feet in diameter and on top of it, Jeha is well aware she can't be harmed by her own technique so for Avalanche it potentially is very bad news. Jeha wonders what Avalanche will do if her series of attacks potentially land and disorganize her tactic.

Avalanche watched the woman counter the suction of her ninjutsu with the force of the strange mist which erupted from her mouth. Their head turned to the approaching woman as they drew their sword with one hand. However, the deafening shriek caused them to stumble back a bit. It was than that the handseals were manifested in the hope of making a massive burst of water aimed solely toward her. Avalanche responded by holding her hand in front of her. A large piece of the ice pool the two stood on exploded underneath the gullet blast, causing the detonation to burst the strike. The explosion caused Avalanche to slide backward along the ice, as she imagined Jeda would also be effected by such a large blast within such a small proximity. As Avalanche slid back they used their extended hand gripped into a fist. Chains of ice rose from the frozen pool the two stood up in an attempt to shackle down their opponent and finish the fight once and for all. Once Avalanche slid back thirty feet they used the art of tree climbing to no longer slide. This gave them a comfortable distance from their opponent. Meanwhile, the cyclone continued to swirl, but was directionless for the moment.

Jeha watches how her attacks are quite dispelled after another by their no doubt about it. So far, she doesn't understand, this person, who are they? Are they a manifestation of a certain deity of a sort? It really throws Jeha off though, enough on thinking about that, she notices the chains reaching up trying to grab her which she had to further use stamina to avoid it. Jeha feels the muscles in her body having a work out but at this point, there is no going back. She came for a challenge and she is getting one for certain. Jeha then proceeds to her next attack but this time, its going to take more chakra to perform and right now she is getting tired. The more chakra spent, the more closer she is to possibly being out of chakra and then she will have to rely on her Bukijutsu. Jeha quickly forms hand signs for Water Style: Grand Water Fall Jutsu, as a column of water surrounds Avalanche attempting to force their to go into the air. The idea of this attack is to distract while Jeha gathers moisture in the air while Avalanche unknowing doing Water Style: Crashing Pillar Of Heaven, forming a pillar of water in the air above her opponent and without waving a finger but using her chakra alone, sends the pillar to come and attempt to crush Avalanche under a lot of brute force. Once more swishes more chakra in her mouth and blows it to the air using the vapor in the area creating dark clouds like before attempting to rain down more sake. Since the technique that Avalanche used before is undone and no suction, this time the rain of sake should be able to reach her opponent if succeeds.

Avalanche felt the ice shift beneath them as Jeha made her attack. They leaped back and avoided the pillar which came erupting underneath them, as well as the pillars designed to hold them in place. It was then that the raging water came crashing down from above. As Avalanche raised their right hand a massive whale of ice rose and leaped above them. The pillar collided into the whale, and both were disbursed among the battlefield. Shards of ice and blobs of water rain down as Jeha launched again her strange mist. Avalanche used their cyclone with a stroke of their hand in order to suck the mist right back into the cyclone. This time it used a stronger version of the suction as well, which would pose a bigger threat for the Oni to face.
However, it was then that Toso spoke over the speaker. The masked figure listened as they were made aware that Toso dropped out of the arena. The suction started to weaken for a brief moment as Avalanche felt frustrated. The sole reason why they entered this tournament was to beat Toso for having the audacity to alienate the only true source of justice in this world. However, when Toso declared that the oni opponent was more suited to win, the suctioning effect of the cyclone picked up with a brutal force. 'If he thinks that he can squash justice in every form that it takes, then he will learn the hard way the true extent the will of the righteous!' Avalanche was renewed to win this fight in order to spite the Arashikage. There was a renewed passion for victory as they needed to defeat this one opponent. After this person, they would figure out what came next.

In addition to itβs dangerous size, the whaleβs body is also incredibility slick. Those who make contact with the creation will find themselves instantly frozen to the surface, requiring an A ranked amount of chakra to free themselves. Body parts that are frozen have tier two paralysis applied to them. _β Vortex of the Northwinds A ____β The user casts this technique optionally with the Winter's Howl Technique for no activation. By doing so, the user creates either a knock back effect to those contacting the vortex of ten feet per rank of this technique, or may create a suction effect to pull everything into the cyclone. This suction effect only determines the strength of the pull and colliding techniques will only deal their damage to the cyclone itself. _β ____β

_β Winter's Howl: B ____β The user holds a single hand sign, creating a frosted clouds that are spread over a ten foot area for three posts and an additional post per rank applied after C rank. The user is able to manipulate these clouds into a cyclone that is five feet in width and twenty feet in height per rank. While spinning, the cyclone gives off a haunting howl that gives the technique it's name. For the duration of this technique, the user is able to manipulate the cyclone for no activation after it's initial post. Those who spend at least a single post in the cyclone and are not HyΕton will be frozen soild, requiring an equal strength expelling of chakra to escape. _β ____β
Jeha knows she is about out of chakra and hearing the announcement and noticing how her opponent got all psyched up due about the Kage dropping out and such, which quite frankly is a bummer in Jeha's eyes. A opponent that only joined this tournament just to face the Kage and now that he is gone, it spiced up her opponent. Its sad in Jeha's eyes, someone that only wishes to face the Kage, truly not battle for anything else or for ones self like Jeha does. Jeha loves the challenge, a challenger that will not side for anything but battle, and will not be based upon someone else. Jeha lifts her hand and says"I submit this fight." With that, Jeha discharges her chakra, not engaging it any further and hands the win to Avalanche. She only came here for a good fight and finding out her opponent only came here to fight the Kage, its quite insulting. Jeha then looks over at Avalanche"You are a good fighter, there is no doubt about that however, there is something you are missing. I can't tell you what it is because you need to find it yourself, a journey of oneself. Please do enjoy this victory and continue on into the semi finals." Jeha then walks out with a smile as she makes her way out of the arena back into the court yard to rest and gather up her strength.

Avalanche snapped their fingers the moment Jeda submitted. The cyclone died in strength until it pewter out completely. Avalanche let out a heavy breath. As composed as they were during the fight, the after battle reprieve was hitting them hard. It was a long time since they had to manifest that much chakra at one point. Avalanche anticipated that they used about two thirds of their total chakra supply. They were content with their victory, however. That was, until Jeda chose to speak.
Avalanche did not interrupt the woman, no matter how much they wanted to. They sheathed their blade and folded their arms in front of them. A newfound thought manifested in their head which they decided to share. "My only need is to return justice to this lawless Arashi. When the Arashikage was announced as being revoked from this tournament, I felt the urge to quit. However, because of people like you, I recognize my purpose now. I need to win this tournament to remind people that justice still lives. I thank you for your words, and wish you a good day." After they finished, Avalanche turned around and left.
