Daywatching [Honeyfur x Sweetkit]

Sunshadow had brought up the idea that Honeyfur mentor Sweetkit when she was the age of a "paw", and he thought it was best to get to know the kitten on a more personal level to understand what Sweetkit was really like.

"Sweetkit? Are you awake?" he whispered into the nursery.

Sweetkit wasn't quite awake but Sunshadow was, she chuckled gently as Honeyfur tried to wake the kit "She can't hear you remember?" she said, nudging Sweetkit awake and making her kit look at her as she talked a little slowly "Sweetkit, darling, Honeyfur wants to spend some time with you, will you go with him and listen" She said smiling.


Sweetkit mewled a compaint as she was poked awake by her mother, yawning slowly as she looked around, saw Honeyfur then looked at Sunshadow again, she didn't understand every word but as she was getting close to Apprentice age, it was getting easier to figure out what was being said by the way the mouths moved. Some she just had to 'wing it' with though, but she got the general gist. She nodded to her mother and looked expectantly towards Honeyfur.

Honeyfur felt his face grow hot in embarrassment when Sunshadow had to remind him that Sweetkit could not hear. How did he forget? He was grateful that Sunshadow was here, he barely knew the kit, and although Sweetkit could not hear her mother, there was still that mother/daughter communication existent between them.

"Thank you, Sunshadow. I'll bring her back before she's worn herself out." The medicine cat gave a smile to the kitten and waited for the kit at the outside of the nursery, giving Sweetkit her time to wake up. He'll wait for her here.
