Now Dajanté might be a sporty teen, but that didn't mean he liked all sports, with golf being one of the exceptions. Fresh hell, it was worse than his father forcing him into football back in middle school. Dajanté was already put-off just being at this Fantasyland, a totally ill-fit name for something as boring as a golf course, for his first match-up on this silly app he installed to cure his boredom at school. But the date didn't even start yet, so the basketball enthusiast was not going to complain about playing golf...yet. At the very least, he was the first to arrive, which already made the date a good start in his department. Had he arrived after the girl or, worse, late to the date, his mama would've had his a** ( she'd find out one way or the other, and she never forgot, neither. When he was late to a date in middle school, his mama sure gave him a bruisin' after she done found out, his papa just shakin his head on the lazy boy. Then Janté's mama proceeded to chew his papa's ear out about the time he was late to their twentieth date. Dajanté never forgot when his pa looked at him then and said, "never be last to show, boy. She might be your forever girl and if she is, she won't ne'er forget, and you'll regret it" ).
Mama always told him that it was a man's job to show their face first and, if he sees his date, help her out the car and pay for her ticket or meal. In that case, he sure hoped the golf tickets weren't too pricey, cause he'd been trying to save his money for quite some time now. Dajanté stuffed his hands in his pockets and stared off into the parking lot, wondering when this Gwen was going to appear.
