Odd listened top Sub's explanation and it all began to make sense now, just what was going on and how all these Murkrow lived here. As the explanation came to an end, he heaved a small, nearly imperceptible sigh. How could anyone fault Sub for considering a "replacement" for Nevermore after learning of the circumstances. She wasn't just a friend to Sub. She was a live well lived in her mother's place. She was a proxy for a mother who wanted to experience life through another's eyes without controlling them. And Sub was the wonderful friend who assisted in making both of those things possible. It genuinely brought tears to his eyes to think that this ancient Pokemon had retained the strong will to live so far beyong her normal lifespan purely because she never got to experience life as fully as she wanted and her children helped her feel as thought she might have.

When Sub announced it was time to go, he turned on his heel only a moment too soon and missed the arrival of Masque. However, he spotted the Pokemon before Sub recalled it to the clearly aged Dusk Ball it had been caught in. It appeared strong, though not without lacking any real challenge over the years. But from what he knew of Shiftry, he suspected Masque probably liked it that way.

Upon the release of Registeel to watch over this place once more, he nodded silently. This was likely the best case. This was Registeel's entire purpose, he felt certain, when Sub met it. It was likely to be glad to be back at it's job after such a long break.

Following along to leave again, he would be stopped in his tracks once more when a certain word was called."Nevermore!" it exclaimed, it's voice tiny but clear and crisp as the fresh snow. Looking over his shoulder, he spotted the tiny Murkrow. It was so incredibly young that it almost looked like it had barely hatched and yet so strong was it's will and so filled with curiosity were those eyes, he couldn't help but stopp down to pick the little one up. "You'll get your chance, someday." He assured the tiny avian, rubbing a finger gingerly across the top of it's beak. His own bird often enjoyed the action so he figured it would comfort this little one as well. "You'll see the world beyond these ruins and you'll have tales to tell your brothers and sisters as well." For the moment, he set the little bird back on the ground and turned away again. As much as he might like to bring Replay some company of his own kind, it was neither his place nor was this the time to be doing so.

Veronica made some shifty eyes towards Sub at first, realizing how old he admitted to being. Then setting that subject aside in her mind, she looked around again as if trying to find something. Though it was more of a curious glance to the description of how the environment reacted.
When the registeel appeared, her eyes dazzled. It was always enchanting to see a legendary pokemon. It was cut short by a shake in one of her pokeballs - the Zoroark. She held it tightly to keep him calm. It made her hold her breath as she hoped such a moment wouldn't be ruined by his trickster nature. Surely he could sense the energy that was going around and with the Registeel he almost couldn't resist. "So yea, let's go." Veronica smiled and nodded for them to lead the way quickly.
