Shion graciously accepted her winnings, the Kiba blades. It was an honor to even be considered worthy of wielding them, but the legendary blades paled in comparison to her true goal; a manga deal, possible televised spin off, and most importantly... that damned Wyvern card. The ceremony could not end fast enough. Standing atop her pedestal, Shion's eyes kept darting to Avalanche. That lucky little b*****d. Why did they get the cool prize! Anticipation built to a boil until she couldn't take it anymore. Then, just as the card was being handed off, Shion gripped her new blades, leaped off her pedestal and dashed over to Avalanche. "Hey, dork! Trade me for that card!" Professional as always.
Avalanche arrived as the results were drawn. Although it felt like an eternity since they won their match, it felt even longer considering the relationship that they have made with the runner up of the tournament, Kaito. The fact that boy has gone from a thorn in their side to an endearing ally was something which they never predicted. An annoyed eyebrow rose from behind the mask they wore when an unsolicited holler called out to them. Avalanche turned their body and saw one of the advisers to Toso, Shion, speak to them as though she had even a fraction of merit to her authority. Their immediate reaction was to tell them to bug off and swing their sword if they took offense to that. However, Kaito sprung in their mind as they thought of a better alternative. "If the card is what you want, then I am willing to trade." Avalanche offered with their arms crossed. "My card for those blades. Not for myself, but to give the runner up I faced so that he stops being a pathetic push over." They said coldly. Despite their words, however, the idea was to give Kaito a gift solely because they appreciate him. They could never reveal that, however, as to say that out loud would be too much to bear.

Shion hesitated for a second. She couldn't trade the Kiba blades, legendary weapons of Arashi, for a cardboard rectangle could she? The only thing that made her consider the offer was the child's reasoning. They wanted to gift them to someone else? This wasn't a play for personal power? Hmm... maybe the next generation isnt as borked as they seemed. Shion's head turned from Avalanche to Kaito and offered him a warm smile. "Runner up, eh? I can dig it. Hey, kid! These are yours. You're the future of our village. Wield them with pride and honor. You carry the hopes of everyone here." A motivating speech to be sure, but as soon as the blades were out of her hand, Shion would immediately direct her eyes back to Avalanche. "Alright, nerd. Gimme the gosh darn card."
Shion's open hand had in it the card the moment the swords were given. Avalanche smiled silently at the idea of giving their friend acquaintance something to better defend himself with. "Till our paths cross." They said as they disappeared.

Kaito wasn't enthused about losing but he did intend to congratulate the victor, especially after the humble show of covering him with their jacket. However, they walked up to Avalanche only to see them discussing something about trading cards, which Kaito was unfamiliar with. A moment later, there were swords being thrust into his hands and Kaito's confusion was evident as the apparent victor of the other set insisted he keep the Kiba swords. "Uh- er, well... thank you? Uh. Thank you." He sounded more serious the second time, inclining his head respectfully though he had little experience dual-wielding. Perhaps that would give him a leg-up against Avalanche in the future.
