B: Kantuta (MiddyGlow) vs. Bozkir (Seaki)

Kantuta was nervous and excited she had been living in the ela pride for a little while now, a member of the shadow clan. This would be the first festival where she would be fighting in the sky ceremony. She wondered how she would fair against the other clans and members of the Ela pride who had lived in these lands all their lives. She made her way to the ceremony area and started looking, for her first opponent. She could hear the sound of the river rushing nearby and it was a comfort to her. Kantuta took a deep breath to steady her nerves she could do this.

Bozkir sim Kumul was ready for anything.

The former Jahy Sarlain member was born to fight, to defend really. He was never as good at fighting as his sister, though. Last year, his father took part in this tournament, and lost on the first round. He wasn't sure if his father had gone easy on the girl or not, but he didn't really ask. He'd joined durning that last year's tournament.

He stuck close to his father and mother, feeling like a lost cub in a new place. He knew some others had joined from his old home - he didn't know them, though, having been from the Other Side.

Bozkir shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts as the competition started. He was facing a member of the shadow clan this round. He hadn't met her either, but he was determined to win.

Kantuta smiled at the member of the mantis clan, she had not met him before, but she was happy for this chance to battle and see what she could do. "Greetings. I am Kantuta of the Shadow Clan." She said and then she prepared herself for their duel to begin. It would be interesting to see if his weight and strength would overpower any tricks or skills she might be able to use to try to overcome his larger size. She didn't feel the need to win the sky ceremony overall, but she wanted to try anyway. For fun and for the thrill of trying something new and trying her best. "I'm ready when you are." She said brightly.  

[Seaki]

Bozkir gave a tight smile. It had been a while since he fought, and he was pretty out of practice. He was sure it would come back like muscle memory. "Ah, I'm Bozkir sim Kumul, of the Mantis Clan," He told her, fumbling a little with the greeting.

"Let us duel, then" He told her, getting ready.

He lunged at her, swinging. He hadn't done this a while, but he could tell that his trajectory was wrong, and he would probably miss his first attempt at a hit.

Kantuta was able to see the first attack coming easily and she was able to dodge the badly timed attack pretty well, she jumped back and bounded forward for her own attack. She was aiming for Bozkir sim Kumul's middle. Since no matter how confident she was she still didn't have a ton of fighting experience and she could only think of a few moves on the fly. She could only hope that her attack would land and she would be able to get the upper paw in this fight. It would be pretty great if she could win the sky ceremony.

Even if she didn't win, she would still be happy that the festival was happening at all, she had a chance to meet members of other clans and celebrate life with her own clan. She grinned as she waited for Bozkir's next attack.
