World - Cartwright (c) vs. Ken Armand

[Mister Mirage]

"The following contest is tonight's Main Event, and it scheduled for one fall. It is for the GWA World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger..."

 

[Ken Armand]

The Game Hits the PA and multi colored lights begin to flash. Ken rises up on platform to the stage, standing among a thin layer of smoke rising from under the stage.

"Making his way to the ring, from Kansas City, Missouri, weighing in at 225 pounds, Ken Armand!"

Ken begins to make his way down the ramp, pyro continuing to go off behind him. He stops at the end of the ramp and looks around the arena, out into the fans.

Eventually, he turns and walks to the right, walking around the ring. He hops up onto the apron, then turns to face the crowd, his back to the ropes. He raises his fists and leans back against the ropes while multi-colored pyros shoot up from the turnbuckles. The crowd continues to give a positive reaction as he steps into the ring through the ropes. The lights come back up and the flashing lights stop while the music dies down.  

[Cartwright]

The arena lights dim and a spotlight shines on the arena entrance as Weak Aside by Bloodbath blasts out of the arena speakers.

♫We're born to reign as masters
To ashes we'll burn the pastures
Repell their ways back to nothingness♫

Loud boos are heard from the crowd as Cartwright enters the arena wearing a black robe which shines in the light thanks to the red sequins that are all over it. Cartwright basks in the spotlight, looking towards the fans and embracing the jeers before he begins to make his way down the ramp and towards the ring.

♫Chaos in symmetry
This glorious victory
In darkness only we can see♫

Unknown Announcer: "Coming to the ring at this time, from London, ENGLAND and weighting-in at 225 lbs. Wearing black, he is one of the most recognised stars in the history of professional wrestling. He is the self-proclaimed Extraordinary Englishman. Representing The Ferocious Four.....he is the GWA Heavyweight Champion of the World........CAAAARTWRIIIIGHT!"

♫Transcend with rage of the elite
The new order come to rise and shine
Write new history as we wipe and delete
An urge to rid this world of human waste
Weak aside♫

Cartwright steps up the steel steps and enters the ring through the ropes. Cartwright stands in the center of the ring posing, his arms out to his sides and hands open with his eyes closed as he listens to the surrounding fans. Cartwright removes his entrance robe to reveal his black wrestling tights and boots.

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken watches Cartwright enter, focused on finally defeating the champion here tonight. Since the first Starrcade, he hasn't had a great record against the man. Tonight is his chance to correct that. As the bell rings, Ken remains in the corner, watching the champion  

[Cartwright]

Cartwright can see the focus in Kens eyes as the bell rings. Since his challenger decides to stay in his corner and their recent history is giving The Lad huge confidence, the champion adopts a striking stance and begins to steadily make his way forward, looking for the chance to send a kick towards Kens chest!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken kept his eye on Cartwright. A striking stance is different but Ken will play ball. The kick comes his way and Ken attempts to catch it and hold it for a second, shaking his head. He'd drop it and quickly attempt to punch him in the face instead  

[Cartwright]

Damn, Ken was waiting for something to come his way and shows that he is ready by grabbing the champions foot. Cartwright tries to swipe at Ken with his free hands while his foot is caught, but he can't reach Ken! A quick release of the foot and a punch to the face upsets Cartwright greatly, who walks back his corner with a grumpy look on his face.

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken isn't just going to let Cartwright get away that easy. He follows right after him, and as soon as Cartwright reaches the corner looks to light his chest up with a stiff Knife edged chop.  

[Cartwright]

AHHH! The crowd cheers and woos as Cartwright gets stung in his corner. The Lad looks to retaliate by grabbing Ken by the head and sending his face into the turnbuckle he is in-front of!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken shouldn't be surprised that the champion is this aggressive. While Cartwright may have beaten him twice, Ken also has two victories over him, so a little aggression is expected. Ken's head meets the turnbuckle and he immediately turns back to face the champion as he leans against the turnbuckle. Roles have been reversed for the moment  

[Cartwright]

It appears that Ken has nowhere to go right now so Cartwright attempts to make the most of it by unleashing multiple Mudhole Stomps towards his challenger. Cartwright must be feeling pretty secure to go this route, perhaps overly confident!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken isn't exactly off balance enough for that kind of onslaught. After the second stomp, he again reaches up to catch Cartwright's foot, then simply trip the other out from under him

Ken's catch game is on point, choosing this time to trip Cartwright on to the mat after grabbing the foot and causing The Lad to roll out of the ring under the bottom rope in frustration!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken moves to the center of the ring to keep an eye on Cartwright, grinning as he'd clearly gotten the best of their exchange. The fans are certainly happy about it and Ken gestures for Cartwright to get back in  

[Cartwright]

Cartwright paces outside the ring and the referee begins counting the champion out. Cartwright looks over as Ken gestures for him to reenter the ring. Cartwright gets up on to the apron....and goes back to the outside to boos. He isn't ready yet!
