World - Cartwright (c) vs. Ken Armand

[Cartwright]

Ken makes his way over to The Lad, who still looks like he is seeing stars at this point. Cartwright tries to resist but Ken puts some extra snap into his snap suplex, quickly placing Cartwright on to his back with a second thud on the outside floor!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken sits up after the suplex, looking into the ring at the referee. He's only at the count of 3 now, so there's time. Gets up onto the security barricade, walking it like a tight rope to dive off, aiming an elbow drop to the chest of the champion  

[Cartwright]

Ken shows his athleticism by standing and walking on the steel barricade, the challenger pulling-out some tricks from under his sleeve in the biggest match of the year! Diving towards Cartwright after gaining some momentum from the walk adds a little extra power to his elbow drop, which causes the champions body to bounce on connection!

the crowd pops for that one. Ken was definitely reaching into his bag of tricks for this one, his desire to be the World champion at its highest. Realizing the count is at about six, he goes to pull the champion up again, this time to roll him back into the ring. Afterwards, he'd climb the turnbuckle and dive after him again for a top rope splash into a pin attempt  

[Cartwright]

With a sense of urgency, Ken rolls Cartwright back into the ring, under the bottom rope. Cartwright is on his back in the middle of the ring as Ken climbs the turnbuckle and lands on top of him with a body splash!

Cartwright shows his resiliency with a kick-out!

Ken winded himself a bit with that splash and perhaps didn't hook the leg as he should have to take that win. No matter, he's got to keep going. He gets up and once again goes to pull Cartwright up, attempting to irish whip him towards the corner  

[Cartwright]

Ken keeps the pressure on by Irish whipping Cartwright across the ring. The champion leans his arms over the top rope, looking like he is having a rough time of it!

Ken has to keep the hits coming. He charges right after the champion and attempts to clothesline him against the turnbuckle. But rather than just letting him fall, he'd attempt to follow with a bulldog back out of the corner  

[Cartwright]

Ken makes a run towards Cartwright, who looks like he sees an opportunity coming from the way he tries to slide forward and trip Ken towards the middle rope with a sneaky drop toe hold!

Ken's luck had to run out eventually. His own momentum works against him as he's dropped right on the middle rope, bouncing back and ending up on his back on the mat  

[Cartwright]

Cartwright had bought himself a moment but after what he had been through, he knows that Ken is in this to win this and that he has to get nasty now. The Lad looks to embrace the worst of Lad Culture by grabbing the back of Ken's head with his left hand so he can lay into his face with vicious right hands!

 

[Ken Armand]

well, if Ken was out of it before, he's awake now, as he's being punched in the face. What did he do to deserve that kind of wake up call? Regardless, he eventually gets his arms up to cover up his face, about the best he can do now  

[Cartwright]

Grrr, how dare Ken try to protect himself? Cartwright resists the urge to keep punching after enduring his challengers earlier dives, electing to stand and aim a stomp towards the same area instead!

the tables have definitely turned now, as a solid stomp forces Ken to roll to the side and use the ropes again to try to get to his feet  

[Cartwright]

It appears that Cartwright thinks he is playing a great tactical game by slowing the match down, due to what his spine went through in a short space of time. The Lad gives Ken the time to roll to the ropes and use them to stand, he is in no rush to speed things up for the time being! The Lad looks to put Ken's arms behind the top rope and winds his right arm back for an almighty back hand chop to the chest!
