World - Cartwright (c) vs. Ken Armand

[Cartwright]

Ken keeps his focus on the champion from the apron, diving towards him and flipping him on to the mat with his legs while hooking his opponents legs for a pin attempt, keeping the pressure on the champion!

ONE...

TWO...

TH...

Cartwright has to kick out with all of his leg strength. With a look of panic on his face, Cartwright scrambles towards the ropes, trying to leave the ring!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken is reaching deep into his bag of tricks here. He needs this win here tonight. Cartwright is trying to escape and damned if he'll let him. Ken goes after him and attempts to catch him by the leg and drag him back into the ring before he can escape, then go for the figure four leglock  

[Cartwright]

Ken grabs Cartwright's leg, pulling him towards the center of the ring when Cartwright tries to pull him by the hair into a small package pin, trying to grab Ken's tights for extra leverage!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken's desperation works against him as he's caught in a small package.

1... 2...

Ken just barely kicks out of the pin and the crowd explodes, sure that the handful of tights would let the champion sneak another win. Rolling to his feet, Ken gets to his feet and looks to meet the champion on the rise with the Flatline  

[Cartwright]

Both men quickly rise to their feet, hoping to be the one to capitalize on such a close call. Ken looks to be just a tad quicker as he is able to catch Cartwright and plant him face-first into the mat!

(that move was actually a superkick ya know?)

The crowd erupts as Ken nails the champion with his finisher and wuickly looks to roll him over and hook his legs for the pin  

[Cartwright]

((This is the flatliner that I was working with!))

The pins keep on coming as both men feel like now is the time to put the other away. Ken rolls Cartwright over on to his back, hooking his leg for the pin!

ONE....

TWO.....

WHAT?!

The referee stops counting. Why? The champion managed to find the bottom rope with his foot!

(well, I did say Flatline not Flatliner. ya know, no 'R' at the end)

Ken was certain he had the win there. He'd kicked the champion's head off. when the ref stops counting, Ken looks over and realizes Cartwright has his foot under the ropes, much to his and the fans' dismay.

Determined not to lose focus, he grabs Cartwright again and attempts to drag him to the center of the ring, this time for the Inverted Figure Four leglock. If he can't pin the champion, he can damn sure make him tap out  

[Cartwright]

Ken keeps the champion away from the ropes and places Cartwright into the Inverted Figure Four Leglock, the crowd cheering Ken on as Cartwright roars in pain! Cartwright begins to claw at the mat, trying to drag himself closer towards the ropes!

 

[Ken Armand]

Ken has his submission finisher in now, and he's going to put as much pressure as he can on those legs to keep the champion from escaping. All the while screaming at the champion to give up, to tap out  

[Cartwright]

Ken has Cartwright right where he wants him and the pain is too much for him as he tries to get to the ropes...he taps!

 

[Ken Armand]

as the champion taps, the ref calls for the bell, and Ken begins to untangle himself from his hold. He lays on the mat as his music hits the sound system, looking up at the lights as he realizes he's won, he's won his second ever world championship, and in the biggest show of the year.

Ring announcer: Here is your winner and NNNEEEEWWWW GWA World Heavyweight champion, Ken Armand!"

Ken gets to his feet as the referee hands him the title belt. Taking the belt, he allows the referee to raise his arm in victory as the fans cheer throughout the arena. It had been a long road, two years in fact, but finally Ken had regained the title and his spot at the top. And this time he could honestly say he'd earned it. Lowering his arm, he takes a moment to simply look at the gold and soak it in.

Michael Cross: I can't believe it! Ken Armand is once again GWA World Heavyweight champion. He got Cartwright to tap out right in the middle of the ring!

Kyle Moore: Credit to the former champ, he gave it his all, and took everything Ken could throw it him before he stayed down and tapped out. But congrats to Ken, he's the man again.

Ken steps up onto the second turnbuckle, soaking in the admiration from the fans as pyro shoots off across the stage. He's tired, sore, and sweaty, but he's got the gold draped on his shoulder. What better way to end Starrcade?
