~His Story~
Swiftmane was part of a large Zhevra herd in the beginning. The herd, a group of Zhevra that were known for great speed and endurance. She fell in love with another Zhevra she grew up with, named Zevron. Zevron ended up feeling like something was missing, and left his herd, leaving behind his childhood friend - turned lover, Swiftmane. Swift ended up being pregnant, and looked for him to return every day. A friend of the herd, Alcyon, knew her from ties his family had as healers for the Zhevra herd. He grew concerned for her when she was alone, and expecting. Even though he didn't practice healing himself, he knew from the experiences of his herd, that mares with foal, could be very fragile and emotional. Swiftmane was incredibly emotional, and had many ups and downs as she waited for her love to return to her. She kept thinking he would return, and the other moments, sobbing from the loneliness she felt without him. Moving on, something she couldn't grasp. Alcyon kept checking on her, and when he realized the emotional state she was in, he decided to not leave her side. Day and night, he was there for her, comforting her when she needed it. The reality of it, seeming he was not coming back. For her sake, he was hopeful, but he was not blind. He realized what must be done. In the midst of caring for her, he made the choice to help her raise her foals. Those foals would need a father. That, and he couldn't deny he had strong feelings for her, having spent so much time with her.
When the foals arrived, two girls, Alcyon treated both as his own. Caring for them, was like a second love to the mare he had fallen in love with. Never did he resent Swiftmane, for continuing to hold out for the stallion that left her. Through caring for the two daughters, they shared a loving bond in that way. They both loved them dearly.
The girls grew to love Alcyon as their father when they were young. When Kaycie was old enough, she decided to leave her herd, and go in search of her biological father. Her sister Quicken, didn't understand her actions. Why look for the father that hadn't been there, when they had the best father they could ask for? As time past, Quicken worried for her sister, and she too left, to make sure her sister was okay.
The void of the daughters being gone, made things awkward between Alcyon and Swiftmane. Alcyon only wanted to protect her, comfort her, and love her. Swiftmane returned to her emotions of old, feeling the need for the things that were missing in her life, instead of enjoying what she had.
Swiftmane woke one day to go seek him out. She couldn't even lie to herself, and say she was going to look for her daughters. Without a word, she left Alcyon as he left. She ran as fast as she could across field and hill.
By the time Alcyon woke, she was long gone. Without missing a beat, he went in pursuit of her.
On Swiftmanes journey, she learned that Zevron was happily mated to another. Sadness overwhelmed her, and she thought she would break in two. Admitting that they couldn't love each other, after all this time, seemed to sate her wound. The past seemed to make more sense this way, when she wasn't naive and holding on to something that wasn't there. Sometimes friends were better as just that, friends. Zevron had realized that when he left her. During her moment of self reflection, she felt a bit of a fool. Alcyon found her in this state, and she saw his face in an almost angelic light. He had given her everything. In that instant, she realized how blind she had been. All that she had been searching for, had been right there all along. <33
Alcyon and Swiftmane began living life anew. Side by side, but this time, in love. The two are so cuddly and romantic, they never leave each others side.
Deciding to stay in Kawani Lands, they worked towards making a family of their own. They teach their young the value of love and kindness. To preserve their roots, and where they came from. They are also taught the importance of speed!

~His Story~
Swiftwing is part of a very tight family of runners, and fliers. Almost everyone in his family has a need for speed! Swiftwing adores his parents, but sometimes gets put off by their love for one another. Not that he finds it annoying, but just that he feels they need their space. Even after all this time together, they still act like a new lifemated couple. Swiftwing uses his time alone, to train and workout. He has two ball and chains that he acquired, that shackle to his ankles. He wears them any chance he gets, to help build up muscle strength. Swiftwing is proficient at flying while carrying the ball and chains.
Due to weather and overuse, one of his weights has broke from it's chain. He likes to still wear it, as a badge of pride. He worked hard to wear those chains down, and break their links.
Swiftwing has found a sweet and delicate mare, with a rough upbringing, named Jyotsna. She was so down on herself when they met, Swift couldn't help but want to be her friend. Over time, he learned of her past, and it shattered him. He didn't underestimate the value of family, but didn't know how good he had it till he learned that not all family's are loving. It humbled him, and made him want to protect her fragile existence. Instead of focusing on his physical strengths, he focused on her mental strength. She gave him new purpose. Swift introduced her to his family, and they adopted her like one of their own. His heart was full, and he realized, he couldn't go back to a life without her. He would protect Jyotsna with his heart, soul, and body, unwilling to watch someone he cares about, ever be hurt again.
Alcyon knew the day he met Jyotsna, that she was more than a friend to Swiftwing. His boy had found his happily-ever-after, and his parents couldn't of been more proud at the way he loved and nurtured her. In turn, she helped grow Swiftwing's heart. No longer the stallion shy to the thought of affection.

~Her Story~
Aythya Whirlwind, is a child of two loving parents. Her father doted on her from the moment she set foot out of her basket, blinking at the world. All her youth, she wanted to be just like daddy. She'd walk in his footsteps, or ask her hair to be braided like his. Wherever he was, there was Aythya, his little shadow. She's even named after her dad, Alcyon. Aythya being a name from his family. She's content to hang back, and relax with dad when everyone else is off on a good run across the map.
Aythya is small and frail compared to the runners of her family. She can't run fast to save her life! She tried to be a fast flier, and that didn't work out either. Every time she tried, she would spin in a circle in the air. Earning her the surname of Whirlwind. She was very discouraged. Her father pointed out that he wasn't fast either. In fact, he could be quite clumsy if he tried to be fast. She loved her dad so much, and couldn't keep feeling down with his support. And support her he did! He told her to find what she was good at, instead of trying to be good at what everyone else was good at. Aythya would do flips in the air, to make her dad laugh and smile. Or intentionally do whirlwinds in the air. She was as good as flipping in the air, as a foal tumbling down a hill. It was rough and bumpy. But her father told her how amazing she was anyways, and it helped her shine. Using that encouragement, Aythya tried other aerobatic moves. By the time she was an adult, she had become quite skilled in the air.
When her dad isn't around, all she can think about, is flying. A redirected focus. She can fall from the sky to dangerously low heights, and turn the velocity into a spin and a twist. She dances through any turn with swift grace, like a hawk diving for prey. Her endurance is low though. She cannot keep that kind of pace up for very long. Once or twice, then she's beat! Then she'll take a rest, before venturing off to see what she can accomplish next in the great big sky.
Fell in love with a well traveled stallion, named Lamiales. At first they went on a date and it was horribly awkward. Then the two hit it off after meeting in a more casual atmosphere. Aythya enjoyed hearing his stories off all his adventures across the land. Lamiales decided to settle near her family for a while. The two became good friends, and fell in love with each other over time. |
