◊ PARANOID The way Ava was raised to expect failure at every corner left a very large stain upon her psyche to the point where she will always expect something to happen and another shoe to drop. She will question just about anything, especially if it involves herself or her family, especially if it's supposedly positive.
◊ CALCULATING She's always planning ahead, especially back when she still technically living with her adopted parents. She always tried to be two steps ahead of them, specifically in regards to punishments so she always had stashes of food or a hidden flashlight. She may rush into things but she likes to at least have the bare bones of a plan.
◊ PROTECTIVE She would move the entire solar system for anyone she cared about and rain down the powers of the Zeus himself (not his skanky ones but like his actual god-like powers) if one of them were threatened or hurt.
◊ RESOLUTE It takes allot to make Ava change her mind about certain things or even certain someones. When she has a plan of action you'd find it easier to convince Peeves not throw a water balloon than to sway her from it.

CHILDHOOD Avaline, originally born Huan Tsai was adopted by the Delaney family when she was a year old and then introduced to the fabulous world of YouTube. Ava was too young to really remember her life prior to and at the orphanage so she readily believed the lies her adopted parents fed her about being found and taken in while they were staying in South Korea. It wasn’t until she was nearly five and she traveled back to the UK with them to adopt her younger brother Emory that the truth was found out. It was also when she started to notice the startling difference between how she was treated and how her older brother Matt was. He was allowed to be messy, loud, and rowdy on and off the camera but with her she was supposed to be meek and obedient. In the vlogs she was occasionally allowed to be funny or even sassy but it was quickly made apparent that this was only to save face to the world and not how things were supposed to be. From six on she would start visiting random closets in whatever hostel/apartment/air bnb they found themselves in whenever she acted “out of line” and wouldn’t be allowed out unless she’d properly apologized for whatever transgression she might’ve had. As more of her siblings were adopted and born, Ava took it upon herself to look after them and made sure they toed the lines and even sometimes fully taking the blame for whatever they had done. In her mind, it wasn’t fair as they were too young and plus, she was used to it. But then, odd things started to happen; such as changing the ugly wallpaper of one of their bedrooms into a colorful polka dot and even once unlocking the pantry door just by touching it. On her eleventh birthday, she received a letter from a school proclaiming magic existed and if she and her family could be back in the UK within this time frame for a frank discussion. It had taken a lot to convince her parents but they agreed and were taken aback when the whole thing turned out to be true and that Ava was a witch. It took a bit of convincing, but the Delaney’s allowed her to go off to Hogwarts while proclaiming to the world she was off at some prestigious boarding school.

SCHOOL YEARS

While at school, Ava made sure to keep in contact with her siblings, offering encouragement when she could and even tips and tricks she’d learned over the years. She was enthralled with the magical world and most importantly with her newfound freedom. She didn’t have to look perfect every minute of the day, she didn’t have to comb her hair if she didn’t want to, no one even forced her to wear makeup! As amazing as it was, it just showed her just how messed up her home life truly was and gave her time to start thinking of alternatives, not just for her but for all her siblings. During the summers, she was still forced to dress and act a certain way but the freedom from school had made her rebellious and caused her to act out more and more often. Only when threats were leveled towards her younger siblings did she finally begin acting complacent, all the while continuing her plans of escape. She noticed that maybe she wasn’t the only magical child out of them all and wasn’t that surprised to see Emory join her at Hogwarts in her fourth year. By then, she’d made a few friends, some of them muggleborns who even followed her family’s vlogs, and the few she had told about her home life were disgusted and willing to help. Her plans mostly revolved around getting her other siblings out of their parent’s grasp and ways of legally taking guardianship of the younger ones. Ava was willing to wait three more years since she knew at least in the magical world she’d be of age and could hide out there before turning eighteen. What she hadn’t known was that one of her muggleborn friend’s had told their parents the full story which set in motion her plans way sooner than she would’ve liked.

POST GRADUATION The summer of Ava’s eighteenth year, she didn’t return home to the Delaney’s. She couch surfed for a while taking up menial jobs until she got actual employment and within a year finally had enough to get a decently sized apartment. However within that year, the world imploded around her family...ex-family. The authorities found and arrested the Delaney’s in Spain and took her younger siblings into protective custody before eventually placing them all at Wool’s. Ava spent upwards a year going through the entire stupid system before she was finally, finally, given clearance to take over their guardianship and the first thing she did was change their last name to finally start their own lives.

◊ PERCEPTIVE Vivi makes sure to notice everything happening around her so she won't be caught off guard. One of the things she hates the most is being taken by surprise when she could've known about it sooner.
◊ ADAPTABLE Due to jumping around to different countries most of her childhood, she's very good at adapting to whatever situation is thrown her way. Whether it be climate or language barriers, she'll try her best to make her way through.
◊ CAUTIOUS Along with noticing things, she's careful to avoid bad or unfavorable situations. Due to her adopted mother's offensive targeting, Vivi's used to being attentive and watchful for slight changes in someone's moods afraid of whatever outcomes to come her way.
◊ INSECURE Even though she no longer lives with them, the Delaney's unkind upbringing has her nearly constantly pointing out her shortcomings. She finds herself almost automatically correcting herself from her posture to even awkward stuttering and can be very hard on herself for the slightest of flaws.
◊ PRACTICAL Vivi understands that things can happen outside of her control and that certain things has limits. She doesn't always like that, but she knows and understands these limitations while also knowing that there are certain ways to either get around them or move these limits further along.

CHILDHOOD Vivyan was adopted by her parents Zoe and Franklyn when she was only seven months old and was the fourth of six children. Her parents were lifestyle vloggers who maintained a travel/marriage blog as well as a youtube channel showing the day-to-day life of their large eclectic family. They came up with the idea after seeing how popular they became after getting pregnant with their first child. They quickly found out however how difficult it was to actually adopt a child abroad and came up with a better solution. They still had a permanent home in Bristol that they returned to at least once or twice a year so using this address, they began the scam of adopting children from nearby orphanages and then making it appear that they had adopted them from international ones. Vivi would've continued living this lie had her older sister Ava not told her and her younger sister Sara when they were older.

Vivi’s life revolved around the vlogs and was treated more like a prop than an actual child, the same for her other siblings. Everything they did was scrutinized harshly with punishments that never fit the supposed crime. They were (thankfully) never hit since it could leave unsightly bruises but their parent’s favorite punishment included locking them in a bedroom while the rest went to shoot footage. They could often be left there the entirety of the day without food, water, or a bathroom until they wrote a letter of apology that their parents accepted. Her older siblings tried to take the brunt of these punishments but when they were away at school there was nothing they could really do to help.

Viv had been three when she found out her sister Ava was a witch and didn't actually go to a boring smart boarding school (as their parents bragged on the channel) but actually a magical one! She awaited every letter the girl would send her siblings as the years went on. A year later Emory left and did the same also writing and occasionally sending small gifts when they could afford to. Unfortunately this left Viv with her mother turning most of her attention onto her now that she was technically the oldest girl and every little thing she did was micromanaged and examined with a fine tooth comb. She didn’t sit right or straight enough, her hair was always too loose or too messy, her uniform just shy of impeccable, her grades just never cutting it. Life went on in this manner until one day Viv got so scared of her mother’s reaction to seeing her new shiny red shoes practically ruined from the mud that they suddenly became brand new. Twice. Viv’s anxiety skyrocketed from the age of five until she was nine and the world spun on its head.

One day she’s being filmed for a scavenger hunt that would require thousands of new likes before she ever saw the end of in Gran Canaria and the next she’s in an embassy being told her advocate was on their way. Over the next few days she learned her parents were brought up on many charges from child abuse, neglect, falsifying documents to even overstaying visas. She and her other two siblings were sent back to the UK and placed in emergency placement while other family was located. Despite their numerous lies, Franklyn and Zoe did at least adopt them legally but having now been shown to be unfit, Emory, Viv and Sara were pretty much back at square one while the youngest boy was given to an aunt to raise. She was also asked to take in the others but she didn’t see a reason complaining that they weren’t actually her blood. Luckily for them, Ava and Emory had been prepared, the former having found both a job and a place for them to live. Viv has spent the last year trying her best to undo the damage of her former family along with all her siblings though some of it was harder than others. The best day though was when Ava took them to officially change their last names to Frank. They were still sometimes stopped by people who recognized them either from the news or the actual vlogs which annoyed her but she was thankful it was finally her turn to go off to Hogwarts where she could finally find an actual escape.

SCHOOL YEARS

Viv was ecstatic at Hogwarts, being able to dress anyway she wanted (within uniform regulations she really didn't want Ava getting letters home about something that stupid) She was sorted into Slytherin-which mattered little to her and her siblings-and managed to find quick friends and even landed on the Quidditch team! She was a chaser all seven years and even managed it along with prefect duties (who decided she was responsible she'll never know).


POST GRADUATION Viv graduated with pretty good grades and literally no idea what she wanted for her future. She's toyed around with the idea of cursebreaking-since what else is she gonna use that NEWT for??-but she hasn't yet bit the bullet. For now she's just taken on odd jobs until hopefully inspiration smacked her in the face.
