Young Master William Mason Grey

William head swung slightly toward her direction as she caught up to him commenting in a teasing manner about his form. Seeing as Lizzy was very much unaware of her own etiquette now being dishonored while she sat by that mossy fountain as her dress was a in a horrendous state trying to keep a straight face, William remarked rather quickly,"My sister you seem eager to find fault with me.. though it seems you have neglected your own care", he replied with a side glance at her bum.

Once Elizabeth would have caught on with shock, he would most likely smile at her comment and reply,"Its always good advice my dear sister to take in your surroundings for trouble can always follow if not properly prepared". They had reached the edge of the garden and his father's butler approached and bowed to the two siblings,"Young master his lordship has requested your audience", the older man replied as William nodding solemnly, "It is time for us to depart my dear sister til much later I do hope we can continue our conversation at a later time", he smiled at her with a small nod of his head in formality toward Elizabeth he followed the man towards his fathers study;

Upon entering the study there was liquor of various nature and glasses to drink from along with a stack of prominent papers at the ready knowing very well what William would be dealing with; the young master greeted his father politely before going to sit down in the lounge chair,"Ah william what do you think of these?", his father asked him, as the young master began to skim the papers while the Lord made himself a glass of port and cherry, in which he offered his young son a similar glass which William politely declined,"You are very serious William It does my heart proud to know that you are working hard for this estate my son", said Lord grey with pride, as William remarked with a soft smile,"Of course father.. it is your legacy after all....".

Lady Elizabeth Jane Grey

........................................................................................................................

Snapping her head around at the very mention of her supposed neglectfulness as well as William's sideways glance at her blossoming bum, Elizabeth wasn’t expecting anything…William had done nothing but tease her all day. Why would he deliver honesty now? And yet, the ginger beauty saw a streak of mud soiling the center of her pretty dress. “Mrs. Heywood is going to kill me!” mumbled Lizzie, as she could anticipate a long grueling lecture about how she had seldom regarded the people who kept her world afloat. Which is the farthest thing from the truth….she appreciates all the servants at Bradgate…she wasn’t perfect that’s all.

“William, why mustn't you speak up be--”
the young lady started to speak before hearing William’s footsteps grow fainter and more distant. Turning her head back in front of her, Lizzie had realized that her dearest brother started his journey back without her. Rude. Lizzie hurried after William through retracing the pathways they walked down. After a few minutes, She spotted a manly figure almost across the threshold of the garden maze. Reaching out her hand, she grabbed her brother's wrist tightly , stopping the tall young man from walking any further, and spoke . Her voice held a tone of annoyance that was lace with a bit of sadness. “Why mustn't you wait for me? Is my presence truly the bane of your existence?” It wasn’t not as if Elizabeth dared to want the acceptance of her elder brother, but an explanation of his coldness would suffice. She had never done anything to sour or scorn William in any way. He just didn’t seem to care for her and she never knew why.

“He implied that I was a crybaby!
Lizzie blustered as Clara fastened the last of the strings of her corseted evening gown before dinner. A simplistic dress in a deep plum color with a pristine white lace collar that still matched the plum flora in her ginger hair. "He's so dreadful. It has only been a couple of hours and he has thrown critique after critique at me. Am I supposed to live with a person like that for a summer!?"

Clara giggles ever so slightly at her mistress's complaints about her eldest brother. "Lizzie, you are dramatic at times."

"I am not!"

"You know I value our friendship and being honest with you" Clara tied the last bow around Elizabeth's waist like she was a gift. Is it possible that William actually cares for you? He is going to be the master of this household someday and your dowery might fall upon his shoulders."

"Do not remind me of that. If something happens to Papa and my future wedding prospects fell onto William, he would likely sell me to a literal orge." Elizabeth sighed as she looked at herself in her favorite mirror behind her favorite ornate dressing cover. A pretty young girl stared back at her. A girl with a blooming body on the edge of a mature womahood. Her perky breasts filled out her corsets even more than in the winter. The way her hips seemed to curve to give the start of an hourglass form. She knew a debut to society was indeed on the horizon. A year or three away, since Papa did not appear to be in a hurry since the lordship was doing marvelous

"And I know the real reason why you give William the doubt." The young mistress turned around toward her friend with a smirk. "You're one of many girls with the grave and incurable illness of admiring my horrendous brother. I'm incredibly saddened by your fate. How am I supposed to live without you" Elizabeth proclaimed this silly little monologue with all the theatrics she could muster in this moment while grasping at Clara's hands in both hands and her opal-colored eyes wide fog with mist of her tears. Clara just simply rolled her eyes at her mistress. "You need to go to dinner before this is one more thing that Mrs. Heywood will yell at both of us."

Young Master William Mason Grey

A very elaborate evening had been planned for the young masters first night of dining at home, the chandelier sparkled with the expanse of several candles leaving a well lit room, the portraits of the former founds expanse the walls leading up to the dining hall a young master William was fixing his cufflinks with little interest as his steady steps could be heard coming down the hall his tall figure his straight back a picture of male perfectionist to any female eye;

He entered the dining hall seeing as he was rightly on time before his other younger siblings the twins and the whiny teenage sister. He greeted his father and 'mother' with a perfect smile,"Greetings', he told the two with a soft look in his grey eyes as he took a seat next to his father.

They had prepared the best crystal and china of course they would why not? He had come home to work with his family and soon Elizabeth would be débuted into society, his marriage prospects would most likely be rolling in with every eligible lady in England though he found little interest in marriage seeing as his father was very much alive still.

William thought he heard the rapid steps of the approaching, and the more calm approach of his sister most likey on the stair on her way in before the twins, he turned to his father, who was asking him a question about London,"Of course father there was much to learn in 'London' it is very immersive I felt the experience was most improved in my judgement with that matter I discussed with you earlier", he completely would ignore Elizabeth's entrance as to annoy her only to gaze up at her as she would sit across from him where he would glance up a half smirk on his face and surprised eyes to greet her,"Hello Lizzy its nice to see your not tardy to dinner anymore", he commented acting as if he was impressed but the smugness of his expression was enough to probably send her into a inner turmoil of annoyance.

Lady Elizabeth Jane Grey

........................................................................................................................

Swiftly, Elizabeth made her way through the decorated halls of Bradgate House. The ginger-haired heiress was still hopeful that if she kept on with this pace she might still arrive at dinner on time without gardening the wrath of Mrs. Heywood or Papa. Because this dinner was supposed to be icing on the cake on such a marvelous home-coming for the beloved young master. This expectation that a simple mistake could ruin everything was in the air, and she didn't dare to be the one who committed the sin.

Tall portraits of her ancestors loomed overhead as she strode through the wide passageways. With their painted eyes, it was as if they were watching her. Observing her every movement for notable details that could be critique for either good or bad. The House of Grey had a long history that was marked with resistance and intelligent defiance to fall into the forgotten pages of history. The last thing that the young heiress wanted was not to live up to that legacy.

She had just arrived into the exquisite dining room as their servants were starting to bring their first course of the evening. She had only taken a singular step before the twins brustling past her in a gleeful spree to get to their seats. “Sorry, Lizzy.” The identical siblings called out in union to their oldest sister.

Darlings, you almost tripped up your sister.”

Elizabeth heard her mother’s gentle voice reprimand her youngest sisters as she saw the last unoccupied seat…the one facing William.

She plastered on the prettiest smiles and took her seat “I've learned that a lady mustn't not be late for dinner since the last time we saw each other. Am I rather not the little girl with pigtails. Or should I still think of you as a boy crawling underneath skirts?"

Young Master William Mason Grey

Williams brows twitched slightly in annoyance and so did his gold gray gaze but he flickered his attention to the twins,"Well I suppose you have improved since our last visit dear sister", he commented curtly ignoring her small tease about how he acted a young boy he then replied, he smiled turning to father,"I hear there is a society ball taking place in the next month.. It would do lizzy some good to go to a local party or two father before her main debute", just as he finished his words the soup was being served as everyone prepared their napkins and gloved hands for the meal.

William looked down at the food a light onion soup before the main meal. He took up the soup spoon allowing it to cool on the edge of the bowl before lifting and taking his first sip it was so soft that it was barely audible as his father slurped away and commented with a hearty laugh,"of course william I think thats an excellent idea what do you think my dear? A few local partys before our dear Elizabeth joins high society?", Lord Grey turning towards his wife.

William winked at the twins who giggled at him in unison as he smirked at Elizabeth wondering how she liked his shenanigans with the twins, as his 'mother' was replying to how she felt about the dances Williams eyes gazed about the room with a slight air of bordem as he amused over the blushing maids in the corner who kept giving him steamy eyes. His attention was drawn back to his father who was chuckling, as the soup was already being ready to clear and their main course being prepared soon.

Lady Elizabeth Jane Grey

........................................................................................................................

Elizabeth truly believed that she had bested her brother in momentary silence as she sat down. She could see how his gray gaze flickered with his embarrassment and his smile twisted in disgust. He turned away from her gaze upon the twins. Did he believe that he was immune to teasing of any sort of his past? That she had no place in talking about him in any sort of ridiculing light. And he dares to call her the petulant child?

She watched as the lovely servers went around with the table, as they delivered their first course to them all. A creamy and delicious onion soup that goes well with venison. “Thank you,” she whispered to say to the young footman who placed down the bowl for her. Grabbing her spoon, she ladled her fill of soup and gulped down her first sip, without noticing William gathering closer to their father to discuss important business.

"I hear there is a society ball taking place in the next month… It would do Lizzy some good to go to a local party or two father before her main debut" Elizabeth started to feel herself coughing on her soup quite a bit as William sprung into this topic with their father like she wasn’t here, nor she was a business prospect that need to be dealt with sooner, rather than later. She brought up her napkin to her face when Papa started to stare at her. The redhead looked at her father with an apologetic glaze before the lord turned to his son, proclaiming that this was a marvelous idea indeed, and turning to get mother’s opinion. Without his gaze transfixed on her, Elizabeth turned to Willam’s gaze once around. A sly grin was upon his lips as he slipped back into the role of the silly elder brother, participating in the childish conversation of the twins. While she was left alone to be an interloper in her future.

“It sounds like a wonderful idea to get Elizabeth seen for the summer…I only fear that we won’t be prepared to send her in time. Men are quite forgetful that women and girls need time to look their best…and our darling Lizzie would need a proper escort and we both are rather busy for the summer. Have you forgotten?” Lady Margaret was a delightful woman when it came to comprising, especially when it came to her children. Elizabeth knew that as her mother spoke, she was trying to find a middle ground for everyone’s wants and desires. Her mother didn’t want to force her darling sweet girl into a situation in which she had no say in the matter, but the redhead did acknowledge that this summer would be prime for her parents to usher her first steps into the marriage market. She was a beautiful rose just reached her peak.
