Evanescently Magnificent

Anxious Bloodsucker

-Anyone can come in here and fight me-

-Set far off into the future, Lahlil has succumbed to her most base vampiric desires-

Lahlil sat alone in the enormous arena-sized cavern, the black markings of sage mode evident under eyes allowed her to see through the darkness in perfect clarity. She didn't care for anything anymore or anyone. The only that that was before her was the hunt. The blood. Even if her war had ended, she would find another country, another cause, another excuse to bleed them dry.

tab Footsteps echoed through the cavern as Mina made her way into the oversized arena. Her steps lacked any amount of stealth provided by her ninja training. The red head didn’t care about any of that, however. She knew that her target would be able to sense her, regardless of how secretive she was being. It didn’t make logical sense to do so when her target would be able to counter it and use it to their own advantage. Additionally, Mina wanted them to know it was her that was coming that was coming to take them out. It didn’t make much sense either, but it was something that Mina felt in her heart of hearts and that her target would understand.

The “target.” Part of Mina’s mind scoffed at the attempt to dehumanize her objective. Attempting to drive a wedge between them and her feelings to at least make this mission… possible. For how could Mina think of them as the person they used to be, and also do what needed to be done? Lahil, her leader. Her mentor.

                                                        Her mother.

The burden on Mina’s shoulder shifted to her chest, making her heart heavy as the name floated through her mind. The Hokage, the woman she’d looked up to for her entire ninja career, was now going to be her enemy. Maybe even her last.

As Mina arrived, she stood quietly and took in the image of Lahil. Was this the same woman that trained her, that took her in, and had morphed into this… thing? Or was this simply how Lahil had always been, and kept under the surface away from the light of perception? The questions floated through Mina’s mind but this wasn’t the time to entertain them. There was work to be done.

Lahil hadn’t moved when Mina entered the arena. If that was because she was allowing Mina to make the first move, or if the Kage felt unthreatened by the ninja presence, the red head wasn’t sure. But the girl did take the free moments to prepare. With a flash of movement, Mina opened the gourds on her hips, all four of them opening with an echoing pop, followed by the pouring of iron sand. There was something Mina wanted to say, but she couldn’t quite find the words to say to her old mentor. So instead she reached for her pouches and pulled out a single shuriken. By whipping her arm forward, Mina fell into a crouch and threw the shuriken at lightning speeds. The ninja formed a sign with her hands and focused chakra on the flying weapon, allowing it to multiply a hundred fold. As the tidal wave of shuriken came upon Lahil, the ninja formed one more handsign to trigger a second effect. The explosion of every shuriken in the wall that approached her target. As the shuriken started to explode with massive force, Mina finally found the words she wanted to say. Something simple that would convey her heart over the sound of the explosion.

                                                        “I’m sorry.”

                                                        First Action:

▰ Meteor Shadow Clone Shot | Rank A | Complex (S+ rank Speed and Power)
A variant of the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique. The user throws a weapon, forming a hand sign after it is released. This creates one hundred shadow clone like replica of the weapon thrown. The user may snap once the technique has been launched. This snap costs the user an additional D Rank amount of chakra as it detonates the shadow clone variants, creating a concussive blast that creates a shock wave spanning across a fifty foot radius.

                                                        Second Action:

                                                        Third Action:

                                                        Evanescently Magnificent

Lahlil felt the familiar tingle of chakra ring in the back of her mind. Her body tingled with excitement at the prospect of another hunt. She would make sure to revel in the suffering of this one. Body contorting in a way that would have made an exorcist pale, Lahlil summoned forth an eruption of or rock that built itself around her. The defense was strong but didn't have much time to form before being torn down in a hail of explosions. From out of the rubble clawed a bat figure that wore the features of the past Hokage. Soulless black eyes searching coldly along the surfaces of the cave walls and ceilings. If Lahlil had caught a glimpse of Mina, she did not react in any meaningful way. Muscles tense underneath skin were the only indication that she was even taking the fight seriously.
