CHILDHOOD Caden is the second child of Jacob Drage and Jaslyn Ross. When he was born, his mother decided to start taking trips around the world, often without warning, leaving Caden and Marcia without a mother for sometimes long stretches. During those times, the two were often at their uncles' homes, waiting for their father to get home. Because of this, Caden doesn't have that many memories of his mum.
When Jaslyn finally left the family, Caden wasn't nearly as affected as his sister. When his sister became bitter and started acting out, Caden instead decided to watch and find out exactly what happened. He was able to figure out that their father had been trying to make it work, but their mother hadn't cared enough to (at least in his mind). As a result, he didn't become bitter towards her, instead figuring that he never would know enough about her to figure out why she left.
He finally got to meet his mum's twin and his son not long before he got his letter to Hogwarts. He was surprised to find out that Eitan would be going to Hogwarts with him. He didn't figure that his cousin was his age, only hearing that he was a half-vampire and that Uncle Virgil wasn't exactly the nicest. Caden wasn't sure what to make of that, since he didn't seem to mind his uncle in the slightest.
