She never thought this day would come and, as she opened the heavy chest that contained her basic essentials, she never thought she'd be wearing this outfit. Several turns had passed since her arrival at High Reaches, and over those turns she'd scrimped and saved every mark that fell into her hands in an effort to buy something nice. Originally everything had been spent on Arlie, all money she made going towards seeing that her sister wanted for not, but after the Impression those two turns ago there was no need to really try that. The money then was turned towards her own interests and wants, and eventually she'd had enough to buy....a dress.

It was simple by the standards of most, probably, but for Haveli it was to most beautiful and most expensive piece of clothing she would ever own in her life. The dress she was meant to wear to the hatching feast the day she Impressed. The outfit she would wear with her lifemate at her side, and the outfit that in the future she would look at fondly and recall that special day for the rest of her life. Today was going to be that day, and as she slipped into her dress she could feel and hear Sathanaseth's approval.

It suits you. His words hit her harder than any punch ever would, straight to her gut and threatening to bring her to tears. Tears which she'd managed to hold back, which she still was holding back. Haveli didn't cry, period. Now let's get moving. I have no desire to go but I know you do. The brown was not hiding his dislike of the idea of crowds at all, the mental image of him frowning ever so clear, but Haveli laughed it away gently as she finished up her hair, grabbed a beautiful red cover, and hurried out. We're not staying long.

Haveli laughed again. "We are staying until I'm completely satisfied, understand?" He did, reluctantly, and followed at her pace as the reached the feast. It was instantly overwhelming for the pair with people and dragons galore, but nothing that Haveli couldn't handle and nothing that Sathanaseth wouldn't learn to suck up and deal with (for now). Perhaps it would be best to start with someone calm and quiet to talk to? She knew the names and faces of almost all those who Impressed alongside, save the transports from Western. Those she would meet later, be sure of that, but for now? There was one rider she wished to congratulate.

Looking for Kinye and hers - a small green, if memory served - Haveli carefully moved through the crowds with a rumbling brown at her side. This was...the moment of her life.

Kinyegele, between greetings with Anakumath and Marty as well as being passed about her family to make introductions for Metisoth, should have been spent and ready for a nap. If not her, Metisoth surely? But the green had been wise enough to conserve her energy, knowing that she had her evening spoken for. There were rounds to make, celebrating that was desired, and she had been more than happy to indulge Kinye - who was very much indulging in looking the part of a proper woman. It was strange how a brief time since the meeting of the minds had dropped the childishness from her mannerisms like a light shawl off of the shoulders.

Though the mannerisms themselves hadn't changed in the least.

I'm surprised Sathanaseth is out and about, Metisoth commented - not out of judgement or preference that the brown not be. Rather that, having had her egg barely separated from his by Ardoxshoth and Damahath's had still left her close enough to have a strong impression of what her brother was like. This, of course, meant that she should have told Kinye to give him a little more space.

The thought hadn't occurred to the green until Kinye was already practically bustling through the crowd to all but throw herself upon Haveli with delight and laughter. "Haveli! Look at you!" she paused, stepping back to actually do as she was advising and look. "That's a very nice dress. And a very handsome dragon you have there!"

Metisoth at least had the grace to sit so she wasn't crowding her brother, looking him over with peacefully green and blue eyes. I'd dare think you were already hoping to find the most quiet corner there is here to spare yourself the crowding.
