The Slumbering Weald is an area of the River Country located near the Northern Border by the Fire Country. A peaceful forest that has yet to be affected by any man made structure or conflict, as the natural serenity of such a location is it's own defense from such matters. As such, it's filled with many creatures that have had no experience with humans Non-Sages are able to sense the thrum of energy flowing through the Weald. Sages are given a boost to their Nature Chakra meditation, the act of regaining Nature Chakra through Meditation no longer takes in activation while in this thread.

“Who would have thought that this boring place would house such power?” A man spoke to a band of Jashinists as they hustled around behind him. Broken up into groups, this cult of fanatics were tending to a slew of steel cages of varying size. From inside the cages and rattling crates came inhuman cries, monstrous roars, and deathly snarls. “That b***h Takumi is out trying to get the power of the Bijuu! Little does she know that the power to rival the gods is right under her nose!” The man laughed and pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. “Tear this place to the ground!” He yelled. The cultist made a swiping motion with his hand and instantly the cages all opened at once, releasing the swarm of monsters upon the forest. “Leave nothing of this shitty place, and find the power of the Bijuu killers!”

Hisaie leaps from tree to tree a feeling of anxiety deep in her stomach as she moved, the area around her both a blur but also in perfect clarity, as she went. She wasn’t sure what exactly she was looking for, she had just been sent on patrol in the weald and frankly it unnerved her. She was just recently graduated and compared to other genin she was inexperienced, but of course she understood that her byakugan gave her a natural advantage at scouting, but still she couldn’t help but feel uneasy about the strange assignment and a feeling that something in the weald was simply wrong.
Birds that flew through the weald seemed to have been agitated by the actions of the mysterious group as did most of the animals of the area. As a place which had not seen human interruption it would be obvious to anyone with even a little bit of knowledge involving nature that people showing up and doing whatever this group of people were doing would disturb them. One particular bird however was not flying away from the weald, but towards it. From who knows where, and with a small accessory on it's left talon. Almost like a bandage wrapped in seals. This bird was clearly someone's bird from up close but from afar it would probably seem like some odd bird unlike any seen leaving the weald.
The bird flying over the forest looked down through the trees. Of course as one would expect it's vision was far from perfect into the area below. However every so often where from below one could see the light from above entering the forest the bird could also see into the forest. Initially seeing a person, moving through the branches of the trees. This didn't alert the bird or it's master aside from knowing that perhaps Usagi was aware of the oddity occurring in the forest. However what did alert them was the sight ahead of the figure moving through the tree's branches. Every so often catching the sight of beasts moving into the forest and attacking the native wildlife. These beings didn't look like animals...but more like monsters. The bird above would dive into the leaves below him.
the woman who had been moving through the trees would be met quickly by the bird that emerged from the leaves above her. Flying directly beside her for but a moment. Within the next moment a warping sound could be heard as suddenly not only was a bird flying beside her but a white haired man was now travelling next to her through the tree branches in much the same way she was. Eyes red and a serious look on his face if she chose to pay attention to that. His voice would speak up to warn the girl. "You don't know me, but trust me. About half a mile ahead of us there's a group of people releasing monsters into the forest. Be careful, if you need help Rex will not hesitate to help." He said to the girl, the bird seemed to look at her and nod in agreement. Then with those words finished, the man once again disappeared. Reappearing 200 feet ahead of the bird and the girl, then doing so again. 400, 600, approaching the mysterious group quickly.
over two hundred yards away hidden in the brush a large armored being was laying down with a scope locked on the group near the entrance where she was planning on going. Clearly frustrated that she was beat to this place they clearly weren’t just any random bandits given she noticed a lot of them were sporting jashinist accessories but a lot of cages. “ Ehhhh god damn loving life....hmmm what do we have here.” fixing the scope abit Clem focused the sight on what was in the cages curious, yet given her original job was to hunt these cultist down she didn’t see the point to leaving them be. In fact having them show up was a rather beneficial turn of events. Lowering the crossbow the large suit of armor began to move quietly through the trees and bushes despite its size the local vegetation she attached to her armor help hide her. Wanting to get a better idea of what they were after Clem planned on waiting for a chance to capture on of the men who strayed just abit to far. Along the way setting up several wire traps with red clothed Kunai and other strange projectile weapons just in case she had to double back which was her escape route. x ♆𝑬𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑳𝒊𝒔𝒕

The tamer was yet again physically summoned out to the surrounding forests of her village by a call of her gigantic and agitated sister Hameline.... although just by observing the forest from the wall would a knowledgeable person be able to deduce something was upsetting the local wildlife. The invasive species mere presence as a result of proximity and quantity, was enough to cause any living creature with a self preservation instinct that called the area home to have made a break for it, not to mention the disaster out results of letting them loose and run rampant. The first person she decided to go too was the scent her ferret Jill noted that was appearing and disappearing in bursts towards the epicentre of the villages newest tribulation, Hasaki had no clue what the person was thinking and decided to find out while making her approach. Currently standing at the base of a tree that was relatively upwind nod the unleash beasts, three furry companies surrounding her and feeding her the information their heightened senses could offer. Her massive sister Hameline the Kamaitachi had cleared off after receiving the Seal of Ō-Inari from her, choosing to scope out and hunt that which had breached her territory, with care and had found a place to lay in wait and ambush one of the trespassers and all while making more sound than a breeze through the leaves.
The two giant ferrets Seth and Hakushi were sent away to find a location and await Hasakis’ order while she and Jill took off and vanished in a body flicker to appear in a tree near the Jashinist clearing, throwing a kunai near Iksin when he appeared nearby to catch his attention and signalled him over. Presuming he came over the on alert tamer would speak quietly to him, trying to confirm his intentions here so she could offer assistance ”Hey you! I know you’re from the village, you are that sage that recently joined up, huh? I’ve wanted to see you at work, so consider me and my companions your backup I suppose.” She would quietly state to him while peering toward the Jashinist clearing scornfully, the tight tension created by the expectation of battle was wound tightly within her chest, eyes unfriendly and focused. She carried her Scythe the Kamaitachi claw in her left hand, the blade end at her ankles and pointing behind her, the other that was glowing with chakra reached out to tap his arm and in doing so would create the tattoo of a skeleton pirate carrying a sword and a partially opened chest of treasure that was spilling coins. This tattoo would allow her to offer him further support should he allow her to touch him, the tattoo although not asked for or warned about would be removed at a later point should he ask. Should the man not get the hint and come to her, Hasaki would simply pursue after his path him aggrieved that he would ignore a comrade in such a volatile situation.

Hasaki intended to do the same for the other scents that were of the villages origin in the vicinity, however one was Clem and she seemed to be skulking around and setting up preparations and the other person who’s scent her pet did not know would be offered assistance if they approached much nearer.

tab Ahead of Arashikara, Chouka and Nakano flew Koumori. The large bat spied four allies approaching whatever the hell Arashikara was running towards. Koumori spotted an allied pet too, flying towards Rex he’d squeak out to his little sisters, Tanji and Ishii. The bat would watch the eagle like Rex dive into the wooded trees below. He’d take his chances and do the same, flying through woods was like a second home for the large bat, he’d find a nice branch to cling to and watch the happenings. It wouldn’t be long before his natural curiosity made him take flight through the trees, flying closer and closer till the jashinists filled his sight. Koumori was in a tree, high frequencies tweets and squeaks came from above. His sisters had made it too, most likely watching from the sky. Koumori would move around the group of jashinists through the trees, counting and squeaking.
tab Ishii was flying her little wings off, trying to get back to Nakano, ASAP. Her eyes widened as she spotted her red haired owner. She’d dive low and fast. Squeaking her head off, Nakano’s head would snap up, hands moving to catch the tiny little bat as she threw her wings out to decelerate. “Heya, Ishii, got news for us?” The little bat would start frantically squeaking. Nakano nodded and had a grim look on his face. “Hey, girls, I think you should know we got a lot of Jashinists and monsters to deal with up ahead!” He’d call out to Chouka and Arashikara.

As Arashikara closed in on the source of the disruption, her growing sense of dread grew. She didn’t know why, but she’s always felt connected to the Weald. So when it was attacked, it felt as if someone was attacking her own home. So the Nara ran to the forest ahead of Chouka and Nakano. The red head tamer told them about the Jashinists ahead of them, which solidified her worry that something was wrong.
Out of breath, Arashikara looked at the assortment of monsters, cultists, and Shinobi. Had a warning gone out? If it had, she didn’t notice. “Ready to crack some skulls, Cho Cho?”
Chouka caught up to Arashikara and saw many ninja in the distance that she only vaguely recognized as fellow members of Tanigakure. The area had a very weird vibe, though she hadn't been there before to know if it was new or a constant thing in these parts. She turned to Arashikara at the guitarist's question and smirked. She cracked her knuckles for good measure, too. "I'm always ready for a fight. Let's kick some a**, eh?" She still took a moment to look at the others that were present, curious about some of the domesticated monsters she saw a bit in the distance. She knew she had an affinity for taming wild things but she hadn't thought about fighting alongside them. Interesting...
tab Nakano took up the rear of Arashikara and Chouka, coming to a skidding stop behind the two of them. "You said you could go for some entertainment too, eh? Well if we're gonna scrap with these Cultists might as well show you something cool." Nakano he spoke to both of them. Something new sat upon his ring fingers. He'd bring his arms up hands hovering over his elbows. In one jarring motion he'd clap his arms, two rings with a claw shaped piece of razor, dug into his flesh. Nakano'd continue that motion from elbow to wrist. Red Steel [ Akahagane ] | Rank C Blood would start to splatter but as it fell it started to form into a sharp blade, he produced two of them. Hatsumomo stood ready for the engagement, she noticed a few of her colleagues with her and she smiled. When Kiyoko and Hatsu heard the explosion, she wasn't surprised that other shinobi began to investigate the strange lands. The Slumbering Weald seemed to be teeming with a strange natural chakra and could be felt everywhere. Hatsumomo did her best to try and be respectful to the terrain and the abundance within it.
She put her back to a tree and looked around her, she wanted to get the attention of another shinobi without letting herself to beknow to the intruders. She placed her hand on the ground and started to pull Iron Sand from the ground below her; she turned around the tree and the Iron Sand started to creep past the other shinobi and towards the steel cages. Holding the release handsign, she refined her jinton chakra to move through the brush as quietly as possible.

Mizuhara was fashionably late as always, the ginger haired kunoichi moving through the forest at the speed of however fast her little legs could take her. The sound had gone out at the village and left everyone able bodies to go out and defeat the Jashinist threat that had been invading on village ground. She let out a huff while keeping the hair from flying directly into her face as her foot bounded off of the next tree top that she had been using to get by as quickly as possible. Once overhead the site of the scuffle, Mizuhara came to a stop and dove down into the depths of the wilderness here. The branches and platforms came quickly, each being manuvered around with as much prestige and careful planning as the girl could muster. Upon landing, she let out a grunt and would take a look around at the allies about. "Sorry about being late. Now let's see what we can do about this little infestation, shall we?"
Kiyoko had dropped off Hatsumomo upon first arriving, figuring that the girl would fight better closer to the ground. The Jonin, however, stayed on her clay bird above the forest, taking inventory of just how many enemies there were. This isn’t good… She thought as a drop of sweat formed on her brow. Down below, unknown creatures wreaked havoc on the Weald below, accompanied by what looked to be an army of monster tamers.
“Well this isn’t good.” Usagi’s voice came from behind Kiyoko. It would have scared her if she wasn’t so used to the Kage’s teleportation technique. The black haired woman removed her eye piece and looked to the blonde. It wasn’t often that Kiyoko saw concern on Usagi’s face, but even the carefree Senju looked worried. “How many did you see Kiyoko?”
“Too many to count, my lady.” Kiyoko pocketed her device and began to mold clay, preparing for battle. “Do you think they’re here for-”
“The Fury? No doubt about it. Although…” Usagi looked thoughtful, her gaze shifted to the ground. “I can’t help but wonder how they found it…”
“With all due respect, Lady Tanikage, that’s something we can worry about later.” Kiyoko made a simple handsign and focused her chakra to any of the Tanigakure shinobi she’d seen. Before each one of them appeared an astral projection of her: a rainbow of color that faded to black bottom to top, with just enough details for every to at least recognize her. “Attention all Tanigakure shinobi. The reports of enemy numbers are hard to calculate in combination with their beasts. Fight with your full force, but be mindful of the landscape.” The hologram looked pointedly at Usagi and Clem, which brought a bout of innocent whistling from the Kage. “You are free to engage, but be careful, as the Weald is a sacred location. Kiyoko out.”
“You think you can hide from my lovely pets?!” The obvious leader of the cultists laughed as animals and their tamers split off to surround the groups of Tani shinobi.
Before Hiasie slithered a snake striped like a tiger and a man carrying a whip. The man cracked the cord, ordering the snake to attack. With a hiss, the solitary snake made a lunging bite at the Hyuuga’s arm, attempting to inject her with its deadly venom! [Basic Combat C Rank Simple]
A monstrous creature tunneled up from underground to attack Clementia. A massive red scaled monster armed with nine sets of canine paws. As it erupted from the ground, it made a swipe at Clem with its purple chakra coated claws! [Basic Combat Slash: A Rank Power, S+ Rank Speed Complex-Rending Claws Augment]
Surrounding Arashikara, Chouka, and Nakano were a group of bipedal lizards. They would hiss and snarl at the children, flashing their iridescent frills as they circled the Genin. Within the light flashes, it would appear that the Lusteraptors would multiply [Light Clone x3] With a whip crack of the female cultists controlling them, one of the raptors exploded into a flare of bright light. [Flicker of Light D Rank Spiritual] The next would slam its tail to the ground, illuminating the ground of the immediate area [Glistening Dew C Rank Spiritual] Using the light as cover, the last raptor would lunge at Chouka with its jaws! “Water Shockwave!” The cultist nearest to Hasaki would flood the immediate area, destroying trees and vegetation while only leaving her and her ferrets a plot of land to stand on. Instantly shadows formed within the water, circling the plot of land menacingly. They would take turns rushing from the water to the girl and her pets, breaching the waves to come up and bite Hasaki! Hatsumomo’s ears would be filled with a swarm of buzzing, and she’d see a swarm of impossibly large wasps flying her way. They would surround her, cutting off escape, before closing in. While Kiyoko would watch the battlefield, a massive Seidenki would fly up to her at high speeds, gliding on an updraft of Wind Chakra to close the distance. While it missed the charge, it would turn to face her and fire beams of plasma right at the woman! [Laser Circus B Rank]
“Infestation is a little insulting, don’t you think sweetie?” A Jashinist spoke to Mizuhara as their pet wyvern circled around to snarl at the girl. With a shouted order, the Tatsuo lunged into the air, creating a spiraling gust of wind as it did! It would then come crashing down to Mizuhara, slamming at her with it’s massive tail! Iksin would find himself face to face with the head Jashinist, alone only for a moment. Usagi appeared with a pop next to the newest Tamer of Tani, looking at the massive creatures before them. One would be a giant black monster seemingly made of spikes and wings. Each step it took shook the very earth around them. The other would be a large translucent serpent of a dragon, with eight red eyes that focused down on Iksin and Usagi. “I never thought the Kage herself would come hunt us down!” The man smiled a crooked smile as his glasses shone in the light. “Thanks for saving me the trouble of hunting you down!” With a snap, the man ordered his two pets to attack. The Kervantes roared, the very noise shattering the ground and causing black spikes to shoot around the five of them.
