Rosabella pushed the door open to the shop, one that she’d been in many times before, causing the bell on the door to alert the staff that someone had just come in. Typically, she came in as a customer and had come to learn that not only was the shopkeeper a witch, but that Hemlock Grove was hiring. The seer debated for a while whether or not to quit her job at St. Mungo’s, but she had never been able to bring herself to do it. That was until recently when she had an epiphany.

Bella had wanted to work at the hospital to help others because when she was seventeen years old, she thought that may be what her purpose in life was. However, she couldn’t work in the medical field per se due to her lack of Healing knowledge. The brunette could have gone to night school to take the course, but she was never really any good when it came to studying. In fact, the only course she had gotten an O in was Divination. So, she started her career at St. Mungo’s as a Welcome Witch, also known as a reception. Many years and nights were spent at work, which ended up gaining the witch a promotion into a leadership role. However, she still wasn’t doing something that fulfilled her life and enriched her soul.

Although she had been making more than decent money at this point in her life, she spent more time resolving conflict between her subordinates than she did actually assisting patients and their families. Additionally, she got to watch her friends that worked at the hospital deal with much more complicated medical cases and it made her feel rather left out – for lack of a better term. Overall, she was unhappy and needed to make a change. If a different position at the hospital wasn’t an option, she decided that she should try a different industry. So, she walked up to the counter, resume in hand, and waited for a worker to come out from the back room.

When Nkonazana had left Spain the last time, she had only a small set of things to call an altar. A small carving to Ochún she maintained, and one she devoted to Simbi. A few shells. A candle that had long since been burnt out. She had replaced the strings of beads at school. But now that all the housing and custody and all that legal mumbo jumbo was wrapping up--or in Nkona’s mind it was decided-- it was high time to acquire new things. To that end, she had been pointed to Hemlock Grove.

So for the last hour--or two--or so-- Nkona had been browsing the shelves of Hemlock Grove with fascination. She had initially just meant to get a few candles and supplies for next year, but then she was debating between several beautiful tarot decks and--oh these scrying mirrors were so beautiful and --ooh, she really ought to bring a present for her new family members and what was better than tea -- wait, was that a book on Santería?!! She hadn’t anything besides her memories and notes of her grandfather’s teachings!-- ah, there were fortune telling services and lessons here too? Nko had started telling fortunes at school and writing for the advice column, but more was always better. Perhaps--

A bell pulled her out of her thoughts and Nkona looked around for whoever the bell was announcing. Finding someone, she greeted spiritedly: ”Hello! How are you doing?”

Nkona’s speech was still rather heavily accented, but she articulated clearly enough to be understood. She made a little curtsey in greeting and raised a hand cheerfully as she studied the older woman. She seemed...Nko turned over the deck of cards in her hand before looking back up at the woman. She seemed perhaps discontent. Perhaps determined. Perhaps lonely. Maybe that was just because the woman was standing alone though. Perhaps Nkona looked lonely. (She hoped not. Her egun were always with her, and she had so many more family members to know now, and it was really quite exciting to be out and (mostly) unsupervised.)

Well if either of them seemed lonely, they could be lonely no longer. ”We match! Your pants and my dress are the same!”
