If your avatar was a contestant on Legends of the Hidden Temple, what team would your avi play on? Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple or Silver?

For those unfamiliar with Finders Keepers, its a game show that ran from 1993-1995 which was its original airing on television in which six teams compete for the rights to enter Olmec's Temple as it the Temple itself is filled Lost Treasures of the Past that are protected by the dreaded Mayan Temple Guards as only Olmec, a talking Stone Head, knows the Legend of each of the Lost Treasures.

The structure of the game is simple:
The game is played with 2 players on each of the six teams: Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple & Silver. Before the Game, a Lost Treasure's Legend is chosen for each episode and one of the 6 Teams could retrieve that Lost Treasure by passing mental & psychical tasks for the right to enter the temple.
First, we hear which Lost Treasure is selected for the game, then we which one of the 6 teams would retrieve that Lost Treasure.
One example of a Selected Lost Treasure would be "The Broken Wing of Icarus", just to name a few.

Those 6 Teams introduced in each game are:
Red Jaguars
Blue Barracudas
Green Monkeys
Orange Iguanas
Purple Parrots
Silver Snakes

In Round 1, the 6 teams will need to Cross the Moat which is randomized for each show. When 4 Teams reach the other side of the moat and ring in by the gong, those 4 teams will advance to the Next Round being the Steps of Knowledge while the 2 Remaining Teams are eliminated but get to take home a nice prize for their Efforts.

In Round 2, the 4 Remaining Teams compete in a Trivia Round relating to the Legend of the Lost Treasure that was chosen then we get to see a shot of where the Treasure is located in the Temple after hearing about its Legend. One of the Rooms in the Temple is then shown to where that Lost Treasure is. Then comes the Trivia Round called the Steps of Knowledge. A question will be asked with 3 possible answers, when one of the 4 teams know the answer, they can ring in by stomping down on the floor panel in front of them. If that team answers correctly, that team advances down one step, but if a Team answers wrong or goes with an answer that is not one of the 3 possible answers listed, the other 3 teams will have a shot to answer the question and advance down by one step. The First 2 Teams to answer 4 questions correctly will advance to the Next Round being the Temple Games while the 2 Remaining Teams are eliminated but get to take home a nice prize for their Efforts. The Overall of Questions asked in this round is 16 Questions related to the Lost Treasure.

In Round 3, the two remaining teams compete to win Pendants of Life, which will be used for the Temple Run that protects which will protect that team from the dreaded temple guards. 3 Temple Games are played with 2 half pendants & 1 full pendant. The Team with the most pendants wins and advance to the Final Round.
The Winning Team of the Temple Game gets a pendant, if both teams a tied after a Temple Game, they each get a pendant. The best amount of Pendants of Life a Team can have is 2 Full Pendants of Life.

However, if after 3 Temple Games, both teams are tied, then a Tiebreaker Round is played. During the Tiebreaker Round, a question will be asked about the Legend & the First Response is acceptable, the first team to ring in by the gong and answer correctly wins the game and advances to the Temple Run, but if that team is wrong, the other team can provide the correct answer and win the right to enter the temple while the Remaining Team gets to take home a nice prize for their Efforts. In earlier episodes, the rules for the Tiebreaker was different: The first team that to ring in by the gong and answer correctly wins the game and advances to the Temple Run, but if that team is wrong, the other team wins by default and advances to the Temple Run.

Sometimes, more than one Tiebreaker question would be asked the teams do not answers correctly. Some Examples of a Tiebreaker Round would be the "War Fan of the 47 Ronin" or the "Broken Wing of Icarus"

The Final Round is the Temple Run itself, where the Champion Team must enter the Temple, recover the Lost Treasure and escape. Before entering, some information about the Temple's Rooms is given, as the Temple Rooms are randomized. How the Champion Team gets the Lost Treasure is up to them to decide for themselves.
We would then hear how many Pendants of Life are won from the Temple Games and see who goes first.
That first player would then race through the gate and into the temple to recover the Lost Treasure. However, inside the Temple are the Temple Guards that are assigned to protect 3 Specific Rooms & if that player enters one of those rooms, the Temple Guard will grab the player. That player can trade his or her pendant for an Extra Life and continue but if that Player is caught without a pendant, that player will be removed from the temple and the second player will enter to try and try his or her luck.
If a team has a half pendant, then inside the temple is another pendant half & if that player finds it, that player will complete the pendant which can be used to ward off the Temple Guards. If the player manages to reach the Lost Treasure, all the doors of the Temple will be unlocked and open, and the Temple Guards will vanish.
Should the player return to the gates with the Lost Treasure in hand, that team will be rewarded. The First Prize is just for Entering the Temple, the Second Prize is for reaching the Lost Treasure and the Grand Prize is for exiting the Temple with the Lost Treasure.

Before the Temple Run, in earlier episodes, the Champion team would discuss their game plan with the host and he would ask the Champion team would guess where they think the Temple Guards are hiding so as to avoid entering those rooms. This sometimes helps the champion team & sometimes does not.
After the Temple Run, win or lose (both teams caught or unable to exit the Temple after finding the Lost Treasure), the Host would then tell the Champion Team what they won.

Would your avi make it all the way to Olmec's Temple, find the Lost Treasure then escape with it?

You mean all the Lost Treasures from Seasons 1-3?
Well, I hope that your avi guesses correctly in where you think the Temple Guards are hiding, so to avoid entering the 3 rooms that they are protecting.

In the show's overall airing, only 32 Lost Treasure Victories. The rest of the episodes had the Lost Treasure Recovered but unable to escape with it & Lost Treasure Defeats after both players of the Champion Team are captured by Temple Guards or if the Champion Team ran out of time during the Temple Run.
Known Legend of the Hidden Temple Victories

If 12 Characters appeared in this OOC Game as a Pilot for Legends of the Hidden Temple Revived, here are some helpful hints and tips that would help the Champion Team in the Temple Run:
1. Tracking = The characters need to have a good sense of direction to reach the Lost Treasure in time and escape with it.
2. Escape Route = The characters would need to plan an escape from Olmec's Temple beforehand so that once the Lost Treasure is in hand. The characters can use what they think is the best way to exit the temple with the Lost Treasure and win the Grand Prize.
3. Pathfinding = The best way for the characters to win the Grand Prize by reaching the Lost Treasure and escape with it is to work from the bottom rooms to upper rooms. Should there be any locked doors in that character's path, that character can attempt to break them down & press on.
4. Memory = If one teammate is tossed out of the temple, its best that the other teammate to retrace that teammate's steps, so as not to run into the Guards.
5. Perceptive = Before the Temple Run, the characters would guess where they think the Temple Guards are hiding in the 3 rooms. So they would know to avoid entering them for risk of losing a pendant or losing the Temple Run entirely. After the Champion Team chooses the 3 rooms they think the Guards are hiding, they would not enter those rooms to see if they Guessed Right or Guessed Wrong. The character would also need to guess where they think the Half Pendant so they can complete a Full Pendant of Life.
One example of this would be the Heart Room as its the Center of the Temple & Coffin Room in First Episode of Season 1.
6. Direction = The character who's not running at the moment or was tossed out of the Temple would tell the teammate cues by cheering that teammate on or if that teammate is on the Wrong Track.
7. Skill = The champion team can't rely on Pendants of Life too much, so a character would need to have a few tricks up his or her sleeve to dodge the temple guards before being grabbed them & losing a Pendant to them or getting thrown out of the temple, so in the OOC Game version, anything goes to outwitting the Temple Guards, so their Pendant can remain intact before the Temple Guard gets back on its feet to try and grab the character which would cause that character to lose a Pendant of Life or getting thrown out.
8. Stealth = Wasting a Pendant of Life is NOT a good idea at the Start of the Temple Run. So should a team enter a room where a Temple Guard is hiding, that character needs to solve the puzzle in that room and advance to the next room as fast as that character can as that Temple Guard will be alerted so as not to get captured.

There's other helpful hints that would help a Champion Team recover the Lost Treasure in time and escape without any problems.

Legends of the Hidden Temple had the working title of Zap Trap and was slated to be released in 1988 but never happened in 1988 and didn't happen until 5 years later.
