“Ugh, that should do it.” Mina grunted after unloading the last stack of books she needed to deliver to the Academy. She clapped the dust from her hands as she stood up straight before receiving payment for her delivery from the Chunin in charge. It wasn’t a large amount, and definitely not the same numbers Mina pulled in as a shinobi. But it was more than enough to keep her in business for a while.

Mina pocketed her Ryo as she exited the Academy. Looking around at the campus grounds, the red head felt a familiar feeling as she walked. It felt like forever ago that Mina had walked these halls as a student. It was here that she’d met all of her friends, as they all pushed themselves against the homeless weirdo that owned a strange tower. For the Chunin Exams, and then New Verales... Mina shook her head. Shinobi life wasn’t for her anymore, and reflecting back on it produced nothing of benefit.

The young woman stepped outside and took a moment to shield her eyes from the sunlight as her vision adjusted. Because of this, she wasn’t ready for what would happen next.

Combat Passives

Battlefield Presence → The user's powerful presence on the battlefield strikes terror into their foes. Opponents are able to sense the user's terrifying fighting spirit five feet from the user per body rank of the user through chakra sense. Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no action for that specific instance of kai.

Master of Deception → With genjutsu, realism and the sensory ability of the target factor heavily into the ability of the victim to realize they are in a genjutsu. The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. The illusionist may also always select any Additional Sense that is not their Sense of Specialization to add to a genjutsu as long as it does not exceed the cap of [5] manipulated senses.

Sense of Specialization: Touch


Erudite Academic → You compromise on excelling at one to be proficient in both sealing and sensory. The Academic's body is considered a scroll so seals can be used and stored on your direct body. Your body may be treated as three scrolls equal to their body rank. If you are double class and have a second discipline from this class then you may add the five slots to your mirrored amount of ninjutsu, using these techniques for ninjutsu, sealing and sensory. Fuuinjutsu and sensory skills do not require handseals and are one rank less in chakra cost (Following the one rank max reduction rules) All three of your actions can be used on fuuinjutsu and/or sensory for one post every three posts in combat. In addition, the duration of all sealing techniques and all sensory techniques are increased by two posts. Finally, Erudite Academic Ninja have the ability to Korabo their fuuinjutsu and sensory for 1 action with varying cooldowns depending on the rank of the techniques.

If this overpowers the opponents technique, this technique continues on it's path normally.

▱▰▱ Martial Magnetism | After establishing direct physical contact and using the Magnetizing Technique on an enemy, the magnetic attraction between the Jiton user and the enemy becomes so strong that the enemy's agility is reduced by [1] point per body rank of the user for a maximum reduction of [6] points at S+ rank. Physical contact can include using a melee weapon.

• Flames of Strength | This flame burns hotter than other traditional flames. The user's flames have the ability to create concussive blasts that either throw targets five feet per rank of the technique or can propel the user five feet per rank of the technique.
• Flames of Entropy | This flame has the ability to deteriorate certain objects and materials it interacts with, causing them to crumble away while not actually burning targets. Ninjutsu lesser in rank and chakra composition than the user's effected technique are disintegrated and allow for the flames to continue by paying an additional difference between techniques to retain strength. Objects which include weapons and armor not containing chakra may be disintegrated by flames equal to that weapon's rank.
• Flames of Conductivity | The user's flame techniques gain the ability to 'conduct' through one successfully stricken target and strike at another target for no extra cost by lowering the technique's strength by one rank. Alternatively, the flame can be enhanced with an activation and paying the difference in ranks for the technique to remain the same strength.

• The user's fire based techniques are highly pressurized, doubling in size and range while adding a knock back effect of five feet per rank of the parent technique. If the parent technique already produces a knock back effect the user's fire technique gives a knock back of ten feet per rank.

• Genjutsu Class Ninja can add a single sense to the illusory images produced by this style, treating them as instance genjutsu.

• Practitioners are able to use basic combat physical strikes with knife hands, changing their blunt damage causing attacks to inflict damage akin to bladed weapons.

• When in combat with a foe using Taijutsu or Bukijutsu, the user can use [Concentration] without consuming an activation to do so.
• Those that are practitioners of this style may have their [Concentration] apply to the users [Strength] and [Endurance]


• All techniques of this style cause tiered paralysis to the limb contact is made with. Body or head shots result in total body paralysis. (Mach Fist)

After countless hours of practicing skills that utilize chakra pathways, the user is capable of leaving phantasms of their own body at the end of every phantom slayer technique they perform for no additional cost. These are considered E rank phantasms, effecting only sight.

▰ Manipulating Line | Rank B | Training
After casting Retrieval, the user is able to tack on the additional chakra to the same activation of Retrieval. Instead of calling these weapons back to the user, they are able to be manipulated by the chakra threads they are attached to in a similar manner to puppet strings.The chakra threads attached to the weapons remain active for three posts and techniques can be executed from the Manipulating Line technique as though thrown by the user if desired.

▰ Shuriken Hunter | Rank S | Training
The user's scavenging skills ensure that they are always able to find new shuriken lying about and retrieve their used weapons. This ensures they never carry less than 200 small projectile weapons.

▰ Undertow | Rank D | Training
This training focuses on using movement when you attack, carrying that much more force. After this skill is trained, any attack that follows a dodge or evasive technique is treated as a counterattack, and the user's total bonus to agility can be attributed to the strength of the next attack. When this ability is performed it cannot be used the following post.

▰ Repeating Wave | Rank B | Training
The user's training has focused on their agility ability to strike while avoiding harm. Once every three posts, the user may utilize an offensive technique that targets a specific part of the target's body that would disrupt their attack. This offensive attack deals damage regularly but allows the user to use their remaining activations as offensive as well.

▰ Kyotoryuu Conditioning: Sunflower | Rank S | Training
As a result of intensive training geared toward defensive and evasive maneuvers, the Kyotouryuu practitioner can now effectively react to an opponent by converting their speed into an agility boost for two posts with a three post cooldown. This requires no activation or resource cost.

▰ Double Fissure | Rank C | Training
The user is able to perform a very fast 2-hit combination with any physical strikes from this style without consuming an additional activation. The second technique must be executed at or below the rank of the first.

▰ Moving Fissure | Rank A | Training
By using a quick twist of the hips, the user can change the momentum of a kick that has been executed in order to change it's direction completely. Doing so requires half the cost of the technique be paid and the newly directed attack gains an additional [1] point increase to speed per rank of the technique. This ability may only be used once every three posts.

▰ Heavy Punch | Rank E | Training
The basis of the style, punch hard, punch first. The user is able to spend stamina in order to increase the strength of their punches for no activation. For each rank applied, a [1] point increase to strength is conferred.

▰ Cicada Shell | Rank B | Training
After learning the Shadow Clone Technique from the maruton list, the user may cast the Shadow Clone technique in conjunction with techniques from this style to replace mirror images with the clones. Casting Shadow Clones in this manner does not consume an activation.

▰ Multi-Mirror Image Training | Rank A | Training
The user has learned to control their chakra in a fine manner which allows them to create an additional mirror image per rank of the technique it is executed with. These additional images do not increase the strength of the parent technique.

▰ Elemental Doubling | Rank C | Training
The user does a single post of training where they practice combining their techniques with more than a single element. Once completed, all techniques are able to carry two elemental properties. This does not allow for Elemental Bloodlines to be used in this manner.

▰ Combining Elemental Training | Rank A | Training
The user does a single post of training where they practice combining their techniques with their elemental bloodline affinity, allowing them to combine the techniques of this style with their bloodline properties, including statuses inflicted by said bloodlines.

▰ Live Fire Exercise | Rank B | Training
All striking techniques executed by the user double the decreases inflicted upon targets when impacted.


▰ Gunslinger | Rank S | Training
The user has always sacrificed range for power, all up until now. By making their physical punching techniques complex, the user can send dense chakra orbs from their fists to extend their impacting range as well as allowing them to now "punch" ninjutsu. The strikes are now counted as spiritual when interacting with other techniques and carry the user's full stat increases of simple techniques. These chakra orbs range ten feet per rank of the parent technique.

▰ Four Limb Training | Rank B | Training
Allows the practitioner to substitute feet for hands in any Taijutsu technique when learned, and vice-versa. Techniques function the same, regardless of how useful the result may be. Training is typically completed either through meditation or repetition of physical training.
▰ Perfecting Balance | Rank C | Training
Due to their various training requiring parkour style actions, the user is more stable. This training allows the user to withstand off balancing effects or knock back effects as though they were one rank lower in strength.
▰ Parkour Mastery | Rank A | Training
The user becomes one with their momentum, learning how to harness their body as an almost perfect machine. After completing this training, the user’s agility gain any and all bonuses afforded to their speed.

                      Kai had proven himself as a professor in group studies, but the principal had expressed some concerns over a problem student who was very tricky. This student in question had gotten out of several exams through emotional manipulation or genjutsu itself, and even the principal had no desire to force the student to take her sparring test. Kai had excitedly accepted the challenge; was he was destined to be a famous rapper, he wouldn't mind making himself a bit of a legend at the academy, either. As such, he was on the hunt for the red-headed student in question, a fellow Uchiha.

                      He saw her from a distance and made his move. He was standing across her in the field and made a hand seal, fire igniting the grass around him which then pursued the red-haired woman and threatened to burn her legs [ Many Flowers in Bloom [ Hyakkaryouran ] | Rank D ]. With that distraction active, he made his next move by transforming into a lightning bolt to approach her quickly [ ▰ Lightning Transformation [ Raikou Henge no Jutsu ] | Rank D ]. As the bolt was moving to pass her, he released the transformation, appearing as himself right above her in her ring of grass-fire. He shot a hand out at her arm, medical chakra engulfing his palm and reducing her agility by [2] if it landed. He would flip himself over mid-air to land on his feet outside the ring of fire.

                      "Arisa! You've avoided your test for far too long. I want to see you graduate but that means you have to tough it out through a spar with me. Professor Kai will help you build confidence in your fighting skills so you don't have to rely on tricking instructors anymore, mkay?" He had jutted a thumb at his chest as he spoke about himself in the third person. He offered her a beaming grin despite the fact he began his assault under-handedly.

“Wha-?” Was all Mina could even attempt to say as the ground around her feet erupted into flames. Tiny embers licked at her legs and the young woman took small steps backwards, her horrified expression focused solely on the fire. Even though they were small flames, they still filled Mina with anxiety, forcing her heart rate to kick into high gear and boost her adrenaline. So while she might not have been actively paying attention to her surroundings and missed the bolt of lightning, her body was still able to move on reflex.

As Kai appeared up above her, Mina’s body shot into action. As the Uchiha came swinging at her, Mina’s body bent all the way backwards until she was holding herself on the ground by all fours and perpendicular to Kai. Time slowed down for her for her to pause, waiting for the precise moment to lash a kick up into the boy’s chest that would knock him away from her if it landed. [Leaf Spinning Wind to dodge Muscle Relaxant]

After the split second Mina came to her senses, her hardened, combat ready stare softening to alarm. “Oh my god are you okay??” She called out, worry covering her face. It was as if combat Mina and this Mina were two completely different people. The boy was saying… something about an exam? Between her own audio processing issues and the flames around them, Mina was having a hard time understanding him. “No, I’m not- that’s not- Hey, look I’m not a shinobi. You’ve got me confused for someone else.”

He wasn’t listening at all. Either he was so self absorbed by his performer schitck, or too eager to help, to actually listen to her. Mina was sudden;y very tired as Kai went on and on about a performance. And the test was a spar? Mina didn’t blame this Arisa girl for skipping; Taijutsu was Mina’s worst subject too. But as Kai went on and on, it became more and more clear to the redhead that there was only one way to get the Chunin to see reason.

Mina let out a breath as all the time she spent training came back to her as she moved her body into a defensive stance: legs spread shoulder width, with her left hand up and palm facing out towards her opponent. [Second Stance-Daffodil D Rank Simple] Kai had already proven himself to be very fast, but speed was the name of Mina’s game. The way Kai moved himself as he charged particularly caught Mina’s attention. While the redhead may not be able to use techniques from Mirror Image Art, she could certainly recognize them. So as Kai spun to unleash his kick, Mina stepped forward. This would put her just inside Kai’s blindspot while her hands caught the boy’s leg at the weakest part of the kick, his upper thigh. The kick and its after images were solid, but if they bothered Mina she didn’t make it obvious. As she spoke, she gripped Kai’s leg tightly with her fingers and coiled her front leg up to her hip. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. The primary defensive stance of Kyotouryuu is prepared when the user's left foot is positioned ahead of themselves with the right about one foot behind the left foot; their arms are poised at their sides, bent at the elbows with open palms facing upward. The user gains a [1] point increase in agility -or- endurance when defending from this stance per rank of the technique. This stance requires a single activation to enter, however if a technique is executed from this stance, the user may return to it for no additional cost.

The user reaches out as an opponent attacks and catches the oncoming strike by the enemy's hand/foot by paying the cost of the technique being countered. With a timely exertion of their strength and effective use of the enemy's momentum as well as advantageous leverage, the Kyotouryuu practitioner throws the enemy around or over their self. If the target's Strength is not superior to the user's, this technique is unblocked. For an additional activation, the user may pin the target to the ground with a basic combat submission that is equal to the target's body rank. The target must pay stamina equal to the cost of the applied stamina in addition to a rank of stamina per [2] point difference in strength favoring the user.

                      Again, Kai was surprised by Arisa's speedy reactions. She caught his leg and seemed to shrug off the blows of his after-images. He grinned at her critique, glad she was living up to reputation as a top-shelf scholar. He body flickered out of her grip to evade the kick [ Body Flicker | D ]. Appearing twenty feet away, he laughed a bit and clapped his hands in a celebratory way. "Good job, Arisa! I'm glad you can handle yourself in close combat. You're doing so well, I'm surprised you've been putting off your comprehensive spar exam for so long." Her form was really remarkable for an academy student; he wasn't sure if it was appropriate to chalk it up to her age, a bit older than the average pre-graduate, or if it was training and prodigal status.

                      "But it isn't over yet!" He pulled out a kunai and spun it around his finger through the bottom hole-grip. He then stopped the spinning to bring the kunai towards his mouth like a microphone [ The Stage is Set [ Sutēji ga Settei ] | Rank S+ | Cost: Chakra ]. "The emotions that one goes thourgh, over a loss of a loved one / Or friend then, knowing the cost of rebuilding and carrying on / It gets so damn hard in this modern day Babylon / And disease runs rampant, so many men carry arm." As he rapped, the illusion would be cast. The academy around them would quickly transition into a slum. The environment seemed degraded from unknown sources - perhaps time, perhaps war. A cacophony of voices seemed to be coming from somewhere far away; there were many voices in unison but their words were impossible to decipher. The tone was solemn, perhaps mourning, but the scene around them was devoid of people and life.

                      The dust from the slums would suddenly be kicked up and threaten to surround and suffocate the woman. The cloud was a poisonous cloud, one filled with Kai's personal concoction. It would not dissipate except for fuuton, but if Arisa used her katon techniques, she would be able to use fire to destabilize the chemical composition of the poisonous gas-dust to remove its negative effects.

                      "Remember your ninjutsu training!" Kai recommended in between bars, though his own presence would be nearly impossible to discern because the scene set hid his position. It was important for Arisa to be in a position where she felt isolated and had to think on the spot.

Mina had forgotten how much fun it was to spar. It felt like all of her fights over the past few months were always life and death, and they always ended in catastrophe. When the sparring match had started, Mina had seemed to shift into an all serious mode as adrenaline pumped through her system.                       Kai watched eagerly to see how Arisa would get herself out of the scene he'd set, but she suddenly wasn't fighting back. It didn't make sense - she had great combat aptitude. He continued to rap and made the scene fall into darkness, into nighttime. There was no moonlight to illuminate the scene, but there were unlit candles surrounding Arisa in a circle. She would need to use fire to illuminate them; maybe a smaller use of ninjutsu would help her.

                      The poison cloud had not yet evaporated. She would see a metal bar lying on the ground in front of her, vaguely lit by an unknown light source. In front of the bar was a keyhole - and it would suddenly be revealed that she was within a prison cell. The way to get out would be to heat the metal bar until it was nearly molten, then put it into the keyhole (made of a metal with a melting point nearly impossible for ninjutsu specialists to meet). The bar would meld into the keyhole and allow her to escape, if she would put two and two together.

The whole scene may have been an illusion (and if it was, it was a damn good one) but to Mina it all felt real. She couldn’t see anything, or what she could see she wasn’t paying attention to. Anything Kai said to the redhead in this state, combined with her already horrible audio processing, just went in one ear and out the other. She couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t think. Mina’s breaths came in raspy and stuttered as she continued to look around in a panic, like a cat started by a cacophony of loud noises. She could feel her skin burning, the spot just at the curve of her neck that contained her Curse Mark. Small sparks of flame sputtered to life around Mina’s forearms, coating her hands with bits of warmth like a familiar touch.

And on reflex Mina suffocated the flames with her will. Never again would she use that power or her flames. But time was running out, and Mina could feel her chakra welling inside of her, pushing and pushing against the seal she’d locked it behind. “Enough!!!!!” Mina yelled, throwing her fists to either side as her energy exploded out. A field of lightning, chirping like a swarm of birds, surrounded her in every direction. But once it happened, Mina stood quietly huffing and puffing but otherwise calmed down.                       It wasn't working. Arisa demonstrated some high-end ninjutsu, though, with her raiton technique. He figured that was enough to pass her for close combat and ninja arts, but he needed to fix the mess he'd made, too. There was clearly something emotional embedded in this scene. Perhaps Arisa had been trapped in her past.

                      The poison gas evaporated. He let himself appear in the scene, walking himself into the jail cell with her, slowly. "It's okay," he said as he held his hands out complacently. He approached her like a scared stray cat out in the streets. "We can get out of this together, okay?" He picked up the metal bar, and held it out to her. "Can you get this hot enough to melt into the keyhole? It would unlock the cell and we could leave." He spoke softly, eyes compassionate as he watched her. He could recommend her for a psych eval if he felt things like they were worse than a culmination of testing anxiety and a poor adrenaline reaction. The bar he offered to her would slightly glow green, charged with healing chakra that would cure her of the poison's effects. Similarly, his instruction to use fire chakra would enable her to use it for a lower cost.

                      The new effect in the performance would be the restoration of her chakra through his healing words. "You can do it. You're in control."

This could mean something like creating a swamp and then having that swamp has sticky properties to those that travel through it, requiring chakra paid to free oneself, whatever is desired. While being used this way, these effects may be korabo'd into the user's performance korabo for free, creating a three-way korabo between the jutsu.

Mina gasped, a quick pull of breath, as she jumped at the sight of Kai. Just a little jolt of surprise at the sight of the Chunin. She still had a hard time not seeing him as one of the angry villagers, brandishing the metal bar towards her. His demeanor was calm, comforting even, enough to get Mina to stop panicking and wait for him. She was tired, that level of jutsu was draining to her now. She knew that would be the case when she sealed away her chakra, however. But damn if the reality of it was hard to get used to still.

“Together..?” Mina muttered, more to herself than to Kai. He meant well, the red head knew that he was pushing her in his own, misguided way. So she reached out, gently grasping the metal bar in his hand. But “together” hadn’t existed for Mina in a long time. And the professor’s words just sounded like the empty promises that all of Mina’s loved ones would say. She didn’t blame him for it; Kai didn’t know that after all. But Mina had been left alone, lied to, treated as a threat by her own friends and family.

“I’m sorry, I can’t.” Mina shook her head and let go of the metal bar, taking a step back. “Look, Kai, right? I can’t- I’m not Arisa, okay?” Mina looked into the ninja’s eyes, her own green eyes filled with fear. Even now she was scared of failing, of letting him down after he was so excited for her to play the role of Arisa. “My name’s Mina, Minashiba Takatsuki. I used to be a Shinobi. I hurt, no-I killed lots of people. Innocent people, because I lost control. I sealed my power away with good reason, so that I never lost control again.”

Mina turned away from Kai, facing deeper into the cell they were both in and standing in the shadows. “I-I’m sorry, but I can’t. For everyone’s safety, I can’t. I’m sorry.”

The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. The illusionist may also always select any Additional Sense that is not their Sense of Specialization to add to a genjutsu as long as it does not exceed the cap of [5] manipulated senses.

                      Kai deflated at Arisa's refusal. She insisted she was- wait, Kai knew that name. He looked at her more closely. It made his heart ache, because he wondered if his brother felt the same way before he took his life. He couldn't save Taurin, but he was here in time to save Mina. "Minashiba Takatsuki, I have seen you fight. You fight like a prodigy, like a legend. Look at your hands. They're so capable of helping and saving, and you'd rather live in the shadows instead of accepting the limelight you deserve? I know you're a great kunoichi because I've heard talk of you when I was working in the hospital. I think your service is more missed than you know."

                      He wasn't sure what would convince her. He wasn't sure a rap in her name would help coerce her to see things his way, and he didn't have a lot of other capabilities to reach out and make a connection with others. "Mina, who do you help when you do nothing? When you're so capable. I mean, you were really showing me up on my own show," he said with a huff of laughter. "If nothing else, you would be a capable instructor. And you choose to punish yourself.

                      "I don't get it. I really don't. You associate fire with destruction but it does so much more."
                      He took the metal bar, charged it with his chakra and expressed so much chakra control that only the tip of the metal bar was nearly molten with his katon chakra. He stuck it into the lock and let it mold into shape to unlock the prison door.

                      He dropped the bar and opened his palm so she could see it was empty - and then he charged with unstable katon chakra (in a small amount) to generate an affect like fireworks in his hand. He held his fingers in position to snap them, generating a small flame, then actually snapped and the flame moved around his hand in an almost hypnotic, living fashion. "One of my peers saved themselves on the battlefield by using fire chakra on their kunai and putting it to their cut neck so they could coagulate the bleeding temporarily and seal the wound. I have a student that used fire to illuminate the way out of a partially collapsed cave - without it, they wouldn't have found their way back to safety. I know the reason my own mentor is alive today is because their teammate used fire to protect them from an otherwise lethal case of frostbite." He crossed his arms and watched as the opened prison cell dissipated from view, though they were still shrouded in darkness. "I'm not convinced."

“Don’t you think I know that?!” Mina snapped. She whipped around, facing Kai with painful frustration on her face. He wasn’t listening to her, why did no-one listen to her? The girl huffed and puffed for a second or two. She tried to breathe and, when she did, it became evident to her just how much she was shaking. The anger faded from the former shinobi’s face as she registered the expression on Kai’s face from her outburst. “I’m sorry,” Mina continued as she closed her eyes and rubbed her hands against her arms. She was cold; why was she so cold? When Mina opened her eyes again, she tried to give Kai an apologetic look. “I’m glad that your loved ones found a use for fire, I really am. It’s a great tool. But what happened with me was much more than a wayward flame.”

Mina took a step to the stone walls of the cell, running her fingers along the smooth surface. As she recounted the events of New Verales, she wondered why she hadn’t been placed in a cell like this for the rest of her life. “What happened in that small town feels like a lifetime ago. I lost control in that mission, Kai, and turned New Verales into the ashen waste it is today. Homes, lives, families… all gone in the blink of an eye. Nothing more than cinders burned into the ruins. The mission would have gone without a hitch if not for me, and I put the lives of my friends in danger too.” Mina looked up to a torch that adorned the wall, watching the flames dance in the light, before extinguishing it with her hand and looking at Kai again.

“You may think that hiding my fire isn’t helping anyone, but you’re wrong. If my fire is sealed away from the world, never to be seen again? Then I’m protecting everyone I love from the next time I lose control. Our comrades already have to worry about so much, Kai, the last thing they need to think about is if the girl next to them is accidentally gonna burn them alive…"

Erudite Academic → You compromise on excelling at one to be proficient in both sealing and sensory. The Academic's body is considered a scroll so seals can be used and stored on your direct body. Your body may be treated as three scrolls equal to their body rank. If you are double class and have a second discipline from this class then you may add the five slots to your mirrored amount of ninjutsu, using these techniques for ninjutsu, sealing and sensory. Fuuinjutsu and sensory skills do not require handseals and are one rank less in chakra cost (Following the one rank max reduction rules) All three of your actions can be used on fuuinjutsu and/or sensory for one post every three posts in combat. In addition, the duration of all sealing techniques and all sensory techniques are increased by two posts. Finally, Erudite Academic Ninja have the ability to Korabo their fuuinjutsu and sensory for 1 action with varying cooldowns depending on the rank of the techniques.

The user's fire techniques all cause an additional post of burning while adding an additional tier of burning/burns to fire based techniques.

▱▰▱ Fanning Flames | The user's fire based techniques may be doubled in size for no additional cost. This does not effect the strength of the user's fire based techniques. In addition, should the user's fire ninjutsu or clan techniques interact with another fire based technique, the user's technique steals one rank of chakra from the opposing technique. If this overpowers the opponents technique, this technique continues on it's path normally.

▱▰▱ Martial Magnetism | After establishing direct physical contact and using the Magnetizing Technique on an enemy, the magnetic attraction between the Jiton user and the enemy becomes so strong that the enemy's agility is reduced by [1] point per body rank of the user for a maximum reduction of [6] points at S+ rank. Physical contact can include using a melee weapon.

• The user is able to add their active flame type to their fire based techniques. Doing so requires five additional chakra per rank of the technique affected. This chakra spent counts towards a techniques strength during clashes.

• Flames of Strength | This flame burns hotter than other traditional flames. The user's flames have the ability to create concussive blasts that either throw targets five feet per rank of the technique or can propel the user five feet per rank of the technique.
• Flames of Entropy | This flame has the ability to deteriorate certain objects and materials it interacts with, causing them to crumble away while not actually burning targets. Ninjutsu lesser in rank and chakra composition than the user's effected technique are disintegrated and allow for the flames to continue by paying an additional difference between techniques to retain strength. Objects which include weapons and armor not containing chakra may be disintegrated by flames equal to that weapon's rank.
• Flames of Conductivity | The user's flame techniques gain the ability to 'conduct' through one successfully stricken target and strike at another target for no extra cost by lowering the technique's strength by one rank. Alternatively, the flame can be enhanced with an activation and paying the difference in ranks for the technique to remain the same strength.

• The user's fire based techniques are highly pressurized, doubling in size and range while adding a knock back effect of five feet per rank of the parent technique. If the parent technique already produces a knock back effect the user's fire technique gives a knock back of ten feet per rank.

• Genjutsu Class Ninja can add a single sense to the illusory images produced by this style, treating them as instance genjutsu.

• Practitioners are able to use basic combat physical strikes with knife hands, changing their blunt damage causing attacks to inflict damage akin to bladed weapons.

• When in combat with a foe using Taijutsu or Bukijutsu, the user can use [Concentration] without consuming an activation to do so.
• Those that are practitioners of this style may have their [Concentration] apply to the users [Strength] and [Endurance]

After countless hours of practicing skills that utilize chakra pathways, the user is capable of leaving phantasms of their own body at the end of every phantom slayer technique they perform for no additional cost. These are considered E rank phantasms, effecting only sight.

▰ Manipulating Line | Rank B | Training
After casting Retrieval, the user is able to tack on the additional chakra to the same activation of Retrieval. Instead of calling these weapons back to the user, they are able to be manipulated by the chakra threads they are attached to in a similar manner to puppet strings.The chakra threads attached to the weapons remain active for three posts and techniques can be executed from the Manipulating Line technique as though thrown by the user if desired.

▰ Shuriken Hunter | Rank S | Training
The user's scavenging skills ensure that they are always able to find new shuriken lying about and retrieve their used weapons. This ensures they never carry less than 200 small projectile weapons.

▰ Undertow | Rank D | Training
This training focuses on using movement when you attack, carrying that much more force. After this skill is trained, any attack that follows a dodge or evasive technique is treated as a counterattack, and the user's total bonus to agility can be attributed to the strength of the next attack. When this ability is performed it cannot be used the following post.

▰ Repeating Wave | Rank B | Training
The user's training has focused on their agility ability to strike while avoiding harm. Once every three posts, the user may utilize an offensive technique that targets a specific part of the target's body that would disrupt their attack. This offensive attack deals damage regularly but allows the user to use their remaining activations as offensive as well.

▰ Kyotoryuu Conditioning: Sunflower | Rank S | Training
As a result of intensive training geared toward defensive and evasive maneuvers, the Kyotouryuu practitioner can now effectively react to an opponent by converting their speed into an agility boost for two posts with a three post cooldown. This requires no activation or resource cost.

▰ Double Fissure | Rank C | Training
The user is able to perform a very fast 2-hit combination with any physical strikes from this style without consuming an additional activation. The second technique must be executed at or below the rank of the first.

▰ Moving Fissure | Rank A | Training
By using a quick twist of the hips, the user can change the momentum of a kick that has been executed in order to change it's direction completely. Doing so requires half the cost of the technique be paid and the newly directed attack gains an additional [1] point increase to speed per rank of the technique. This ability may only be used once every three posts.

▰ Heavy Punch | Rank E | Training
The basis of the style, punch hard, punch first. The user is able to spend stamina in order to increase the strength of their punches for no activation. For each rank applied, a [1] point increase to strength is conferred.

▰ Cicada Shell | Rank B | Training
After learning the Shadow Clone Technique from the maruton list, the user may cast the Shadow Clone technique in conjunction with techniques from this style to replace mirror images with the clones. Casting Shadow Clones in this manner does not consume an activation.

▰ Multi-Mirror Image Training | Rank A | Training
The user has learned to control their chakra in a fine manner which allows them to create an additional mirror image per rank of the technique it is executed with. These additional images do not increase the strength of the parent technique.

▰ Elemental Doubling | Rank C | Training
The user does a single post of training where they practice combining their techniques with more than a single element. Once completed, all techniques are able to carry two elemental properties. This does not allow for Elemental Bloodlines to be used in this manner.

▰ Combining Elemental Training | Rank A | Training
The user does a single post of training where they practice combining their techniques with their elemental bloodline affinity, allowing them to combine the techniques of this style with their bloodline properties, including statuses inflicted by said bloodlines.

▰ Live Fire Exercise | Rank B | Training
All striking techniques executed by the user double the decreases inflicted upon targets when impacted.


▰ Gunslinger | Rank S | Training
The user has always sacrificed range for power, all up until now. By making their physical punching techniques complex, the user can send dense chakra orbs from their fists to extend their impacting range as well as allowing them to now "punch" ninjutsu. The strikes are now counted as spiritual when interacting with other techniques and carry the user's full stat increases of simple techniques. These chakra orbs range ten feet per rank of the parent technique.

▰ Four Limb Training | Rank B | Training
Allows the practitioner to substitute feet for hands in any Taijutsu technique when learned, and vice-versa. Techniques function the same, regardless of how useful the result may be. Training is typically completed either through meditation or repetition of physical training.
▰ Perfecting Balance | Rank C | Training
Due to their various training requiring parkour style actions, the user is more stable. This training allows the user to withstand off balancing effects or knock back effects as though they were one rank lower in strength.
▰ Parkour Mastery | Rank A | Training
The user becomes one with their momentum, learning how to harness their body as an almost perfect machine. After completing this training, the user’s agility gain any and all bonuses afforded to their speed.

He lunged forward, left hand fisted in her collar and bringing her close to him, and the right hand moving like a blur towards her - but it was never a clenched fist, and hopefully she wouldn't flinch, but that was a secondary thought anyways. He brought his right hand to cup her face, and he looked at her close in the comparative darkness.

                      And then the hand glowed green. And he released her collar with his left hand and brought it to cup her face as well, and both hands were glowing and there was absolutely nothing they could heal. "Mina," he said softly, intensely searching her face for answer it wouldn't give. "Your team should have been equipped to hold you back, to tackle your own jutsu, to create barriers or seals or a collision that would have prevented your flames from spreading and I am sorry that they failed you but that is all that I'm sorry for. You are so capable that it hurts to see you swear not to act - and make no mistake: that's exactly what you're doing. Whatever you think you can do as a civilian is less than half of what you can do as a shinobi and if you don't know that then you're lying to yourself.

                      "You sealing away your fire is promising to fight with both hands tied behind your back. You promising not to fight like the shinobi you are, heart and soul, is promising not to help when we need it most. Your powers can save so many lives and I know that they took some, I know it was the wrong place and the wrong time - and trust that I know exactly what that feels like - but that very same fire could win a war.                       He let his hands fall from her face, still glowing with his healing chakra but now he moved them emphatically. "When you are in a situation where your fire would save someone's life but it's sealed away where you can't reach it, what will you do then? What will you take away from yourself then? What punishment will you self-impose until you've stripped yourself of everything except guilt and penitence? When is it enough? When have you suffered enough?"

                      It was difficult to hold onto the thread that his emotions hung on. He wasn't just talking to her but thinking about his own mistakes, and how he spent the last five years studying poison because he hadn't known enough when he needed to. He spent the last five years studying medicine because he hadn't had the right one when he needed it. Five years of solitary penitence and what had it gotten him? Not his brother back.

                      He released his healing chakra and met her eyes, thankful for the darkness because it would hide their wetness. "At what point, Mina," he whispered, "do you stop fending off the ghosts of New Veralas and become one yourself?"

                      The cornerstone to set the ideal scene for the performer, this ability changes the entire thread it is used in, as prevents any other jutsu at the rank this was used at below from altering the thread once it has been laid. Similar to a keystone, this ability takes three effects of the user's choice to allow to the story. This could mean something like creating a swamp and then having that swamp has sticky properties to those that travel through it, requiring chakra paid to free oneself, whatever is desired. While being used this way, these effects may be korabo'd into the user's performance korabo for free, creating a three-way korabo between the jutsu.
